IMovie won't start since I updated to 9.0.7

I have a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.7.4. I installed the latest update to iMovie (from 9.0.6 to 9.0.7) and now iMovie doesn't start. The icon just bounces in the tray for quite a while, and then stops.
Does anyone have any ideas what's happened and what I could do to fix it? I've tried moving my projects to a different folder, but that didn't make any difference.

Okay, I'm a little slow, but how did you do that? I don't have much experience with the Installer DVD.
Also, thanks so much for posting this. I thought it had something to do with my recent upgrade but didn't remember what I had upgraded. It was QuickTime, and I've spent forever trying to fix other things. You are my hero.

Just installed the update this morning, and iMovie won't start up any more...
I searched here but there are so many things that come up... but none of which look like this problem.
I've trashed prefs, restarted... nada. Didn't try reinstalling and -not- updating yet.

had the same problem with my iMovie and thanks to this discussion, i removed 3 DivX Plug Ins, restarted and iMovie worked fine.
dragged back the latest DivX Plug In (6.4.0) and iMovie's still running ok.
i'm guessing the culprit's either the Decoder 6.0.5 and/or DivX 5, both of which were also installed and now removed.
i still have Flip4Mac installed in Library/QuickTime.

For anyone following this thread, I've found a solution to my problem. Turns out that a cute widget called FishTank appears to be the culprit. With it running in Dashboard (even when I don't see Dashboard) the Screensaver and Sleep functions don't work. I turned it off, not because I'm clever, just because I tired of it, and voilà, Screensaver and Sleep are now working. It can stay in my widgets list without any problem, it just can't be turned on. I'm going to delete it anyway, however.
Hope this points the way to solutions for some of the rest of you!

Try a different electrical out.
Make sure you are using the same power adapter and cable that came with the iPad.
And try charging via USB to a computer.
If nothing above helped, reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, restore the device > iTunes: Restoring iOS software
If nothing above helps, take your iPad to an Apple Store or Apple certified repair provider > Apple - Find Locations

IMovie won't open since i got the update for Yosemite

ever since i updated the mac book pro to Yosemite - it has been slower and also iMovie won't open at all

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Won't start since update

Updated to 8.1 today. Itunes doesn't start since. The computer will show me a message "itunes doesn't work anymore" and looks for the problem, but doesn't find one. Already re-installed, but no improvement.
Any help would be appreciated.

I had a similiar problem. It turns out the shortcut icons had no target or "Start in" info in them. :/ ( rightclick the icon and select properties. )
I fixed it by deleting the icon then going to C:\Program Files\iTunes\ directory right clicking on iTunes.exe and selecting Send to > Desktop ( create shortcut )

BB z10 won't start up after updating to bb link

I accidentally dropped my phone on the floor, and it won't start up.
here are the following steps that i already did:
1. I already tried to update it on the bb link, after successfully updating i remove the usb cable, however it didn't start up. everytime i try to do a hard reset it automatically turns off, even when im seeing the blackberry logo on the screen. it goes off again.
2. i tried also to charge it first and then the blackberry name appears on the screen it will also automatically turns off and after that it will charge only and then again the blackberry name appears on the screen same thing happen again.
3. I tried to uninstall the bb link to my computer and install again the bb link then update it again, after the successful update. still no changes happen
4. I also tried to update the bb z10 os, in a hard way through internet explorer, nothing change still won't start up.
There's one thing that i've noticed everytime I plug the usb cable on my phone, through the computer and access the bb link, it will connect and then it will disconnect it goes on and on, as i seen on the screen. I updated the usb cable plugging in,thinking that can fix the problem but still nothing change.
I know that my bb z10 works fine up to now, because there is an instant that the bb logo appears on the screen completed loading and i can navigate it for a while like changing the language and connecting to a wifi, and the logo of my sim card appears on the screen, however it will take few seconds only, and then it will turn again to the same situation that occurs on my phone.
Please help me find a good solution regarding on my phone problem.

Since this occurred right after dropping your device it's probably damaged internally. Not much we can do here for that.

Apps won't open since iOS update-why?

First time I tried to open apps since the update, and the screen just kind of flashes for a second and nothing happens. Has this happened to anyone? I can open all the apps that showed up with the update, but none of the others.

If it's happening on all the apps that you've downloaded from the App Store, but not the Apple built-in ones, then try downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try them - the free app can then be deleted.
If it's happening on all apps then try closing them all completely and then see if they work when you re-open them : from the home screen (i.e.not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Logitech Media Server will not starts since OS update

Updated to OS 10.10 during the week and since then my Logitech server won't start. I click start, in system preferences and in just 2 or 3 seconds it stops again. Downloaded latest Logitech server but still no use.
Any idea?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

Imovie won't open since upgrade to Mountain Lion

Just upgraded to Mountain Lion and now Imovie won't open. It tries, but then shuts down with error message. Tried repairing disk permissions and rebooting. Any Help appreciated.

Earlier this week Apple released an update to iMovie that has fixed this for a lot of people. Are you running version 9.0.7? You can update to it by running Software Update or checking the Updates tab in the Mac App Store. same problem. Im using itunes version 10.6.3, I converted wavs burnt from cd, to mp3 using itunes, these were NOT PURCHASED from itunes, and when I try to burn an mp3 cd using the new mp3 files, they convert to wavs before my eyes every time i create a new playlist of the mp3. The mp3 revert to wav within less than 30 seconds. As if itunes is saying, let me help, I substitute the higher quality 1411 wav files for you. And of course, now they wont burn to mp3, because "they must be converted to mp3 first" before burning.
But every list of the mp3 version of the files keeps reverting to 1411 wav files?

IPhoto won't open since last update V9.5.1

My iPhoto won't open since the latest update (V9.5.1) was installed. I do not get any error message, the icon bounces a couple times and then nothing happens. I've tried the following solutions found in other forums:
-Using "iPhoto Library Manager" to rebuild library and repair iPhoto, did not work because "iPhoto failed to open"
-Removing the file iPhotoLock.data from Finder>Pictures>Right Click iPhoto Library>Show Package Contents, this also did nothing.
I can't find any other solution and I'm worried that I may lose my pictures (over 20GB of pics).
Is someone else having similar issues?

You don't always have a good current backup? Without one you are 100% guarenteed to lose everything including your photos sooner or later - things do fail - Time Machine is included on yur Mac - use it - you eed a large external hard drive that is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) - once set up it is automatic and will save you when things go South
For now all you need is a copy of the iPhoto library
I stated in my original message that I have the most current version of iPhoto, iPhoto '11 V9.5.1. Is there a way to reverse the update because I had no problems with it until the update was done automatically.

IMovie won't start in 10.7.2

I just downloaded Lion and am having one big and annoying problem.
iMovie 11 won't start and keeps giving me a message: "iMovie quit unexpectedly while using the pcxidxheader plug-in." I searched for this plug-in and haven't found it. I've deleted the com.apple.imovie (and a few other) prefrences. I've uninstalled flip4mac. I've taken all my files out of the iMovie Libraries.
Now, sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, it always gives me that message.

Still not working and I've tried averything. It starts if I open it as soon as my computer starts. But if I close it and try to reopen, I get that message.
