Impact of changes in CUNI

Dear All,
I have question about the impact of changing some fields in CUNI (and t006).
MSEHI - Int. meas. unit: As far as I know it can't be changed. If change is needed, new UoM needs to be added, right?
KZEX3 and KZEX6 - 3 and 6 char.external unit: What are these fields for?
KZKEH: Is that correct that if it is not selected, the UoM is not active?
KZ1EH and KZ2EH  - (1) and (2) unit: What are these fields used for?
KZWOB - Value-based commt: What is it for? Where it is important in the process?
MSEH3 - Commercial: Where it is used? What is the impact of changing it?
MSEH6 - Technical: Where it is used? What is the impact of changing it?
MSEHT - Measuremt unit text: Where it is used? What is the impact of changing it?
MSEHL - Unit text: Where it is used? What is the impact of changing it?
In T006d is it possible to change the Time and Temperature Dependency of a used Dimension? What is the impact of this action?
Thank you
Andrea

Reports such as financial statements, tax reports, GL balances may not reflect previous period balances correctly when you give single business area. You need to workaround to get correct balances.
With respect to current balances it will not be a problem, as you might be transferring balances in various accounts of discontinued business areas to presently used business area.

  • Impact of changing/enhance an existing master data object

    Hi Experts,
I have a new requirement to enhance 0comp_code in order to add 2 extra fields in the master data.
As 0comp_code is an infoobject used in lots of cubes, I would like to know which is the impact of changing it.
Which actions should I take into account before doing any changes.
    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi,
If you are adding any new fields to infoobject, you will not have any impact to existing info providers which uses that infoobject.
If the attr u add is a navigational attr and if you want ur info provider to have it, then you will have to enable it and activate the info provider and the update rule as well.
is your data source modified to bring in those new fields? or is it going to be manually maintained?

  • What would be the impact of changing Enterprise and Domain admin password

    Hello,
I'm planning to change the Enterprise/Domain Admin's password for some security reasons. I do not know what all will fail, what are all the process is going to be impacted. Actually I don't want to see the bigger impact after changing
    the password.
I've gone thru' few articles but it's in Powershell where I have the limited knowledge & can't customize the script.
Is there a tool or a way to scan the LAN/Servers and get a clear output where these users accounts (Domain & Enterprise Admin) being used, especially windows services wise, and all other dependencies?
    Can anybody help?
    Regards,
    MSK

    Hello
As far as I have experienced by changing the enterprise admin password there will be no impact on the environment, not event on
Services.msc console. But resetting an account is a different story. If you change the user account, services which relies on the user will be updated automatically but by resetting the password you have to manually enter the password on each
    service.
Also I am thinking about if you use remote desktop with saved credentials to connect to DC's as enterprise admin, you may experience account lockout problems. So wise move is to create another account as member of enterprise admins group and keep it safe
with a strong password and save it for a rainy day. In that case if the original enterprise admin locked out due to incorrect logons you have a gold key to overcome the situation.

  • What's Impact of changing the customer Name(along with Bill To and Ship To) at the header level after book

    Dear All,
    Revision: 11.5.10.2
We have a case where some of the orders we have created have incorrect customer name along with incorrect Bill To Ship To.
All these orders are booked. And their Line Status is either Awaiting Shipping or Supply Eligible.
What Impact of changing the customer Name(along with Bill To and Ship To) at the header level.
    Thanks,
    Helen

    Hi Helen-Oracle
As said above there should not be an impact if the warehouse on the order before and after changing the customer, ship to and bill to remains same.
Additionally, if the item on-hand qty is sufficient to reserve the item and there is no B2B internal requisition kicked off.
As long as the above conditions are fine, I don't see any impact of changing the customer, bill to and ship to.
Also, you can run a complete wing to wing cycle in case you really want to test the behavior of the system in such scenario.

  • Impact of changing positions and Org Unit short text

    Hi All..
This is regarding the impact  of changing positions and Org Unit short text(SAP name - Object Abbreviation, technical field u2013 hrp1000-short).The new approach we are ging to have is to keep short text same across the business unit.
    Example:
All position in US will have short text u2013 USS
Similarly All US Org Unit short text will be COMUS
I was wondering, from SAP best practices point of view, do you see any downside in this approach?
Example: Any problem in searching position or org using search term.
    Please pin your thoughts...
    Thanks,
    Kumar

    Hi,
Normally such change will not have any impact in PA module.
Only in exceptional cases it will have an impact in following cases:
    1. First and mandatory condition that you use abbreviation as position name in IT 0001. If this is the case parameter PLOGI TEXTC (in table T77S0) should be equal X.
    2. Second condition is that parameter PLOGI SPLIT is equal to X. That means that change of object name will lead to record split in IT 0001 in PA.
So if in table T77S0 you don't have setting PLOGI TEXTC = X and PLOGI SPLIT = X you can go ahead with change of positions abbreviations. It will have no impact on other modules.
    Cheers!

  • What are the impacts of changing material group of a Material ?

    Hi,
Could some one tell me in detail about the impacts of changing material group of a material that is active in procrement?
    Thanks,
    Veera

    Hi,
If you are changing it from one valid group to another valid group and both will still be there afterwards, then the impact is small, but important.
The data in the Info systems and BW etc. will have been updated with the the "old" material group and so if you tried to compare them you would find differences.
It is something that does happen from time to time and as long as the two groups will still be ther afterwards there should be no reason why this would cause any technical or system problems. The effect is purely on the historic data.
I have seen this done several times in many implementations and so far it has not caused any major problems apart from some reports "appearing" wrong if you compare them against other reports that involve historical movements.

  • Impact of changing decimal of UOM from 2 to 3 decimal

    Hi Folks,
I need to know if there is systemwide impact of changing the 'decimal place' of unit of measurement from 2 to 3.
for example "EA" has decimal places 2 if  change it to 3 what would be the system impact overall.
    Thanks
    Shine

    Hi Shine,
If you increase the decimals, your increasing the resolution of the measurement. So from measurement point of view, you will be more accurate.
But before proceeding, you need to analyze which unit your modifying, what is the need for doing the same. If the need justifies, then check which materials are using this unit of measure. Also check if there is any open items, like PO, SFO, PR etc. Analyze by changing what will be the impact on them.
Next you need to assess from Finance point of view, because if you increase the resolution, your allowing the user to store the qty at even lower value, so during cost roll-up the value might go below the permissible levels, so thereby the value would be 0.
So based on the above, you should be able to analyze & manage the issue.
Hope the above answers your query.
    Regards,
    Vivek

  • Impact of Changing User Types

What is the impact of changing user types from 'service' user type to either a 'communication' or 'system' user type?  Will the change stop authorizations or will it only affect administration?  Is the change related to the available fields or locking security and not necessarily related to authorizations.

    Which release are you on?
It also depends on your config => rejecting expired passwords, compliance with current password policies (at logon...) and same user context for RFC calls.
You should first investigate why it is a "SERVICE" type user. If it is from a config wizard with a profile delivered by SAP, then there might be a good reason for this.
The authority checks on "SERVICE" and "SYSTEM" users are the same, except that "SYSTEM" users are not SAPGui capable. This is not only restricted to the SAPGui logon screen. And for all logon types, they are excempted from changing their password - both via the requirement to do so and the ability to do it voluntarily...
But if they can administrate themselves, then they can (authorization object S_USER_GRP).
The same cannot be said for "COMMUNICATION" type users. I recommend not using them at all and there are many SAP notes which correct standard config wizards to use the correct user type => SYSTEM.
"COMMUNICATION" users are "DIALOG" users, except that when you enter the correct password via the SAPGui logon screen, then a message is returned to inform you that the user type cannot logon from that screen. But other screens will work, if the first screen is skipped.
You can test this with transaction OBVU in the standard system, or any other Z-transaction of the same ilk.
    Cheers,
    Julius

  • Performance impact after changing the awr snapshot timing from 1 hour to 15 minuts.

want to know performance impact after changing the AWR snapshot timing from 1 hour to 15 minutes.

    Hi,
    1) typically performance impact is negligible
    2) we have no way of knowing whether or system fits into the definition of "typical"
    3) the best way would be to do that on a test system and measure the impact
    4) I would be concerned more about SYSAUX growth than performance impact -- you need to make sure that you won't run out of space because of x4 more frequent snapshots

  • Impact of changing MVG web template (CCPopupListMvg.swt)

    Hello All,
I want to know, what's the impact of changing Siebel Web Template for MVG applet.
    Thanks,
    Soumya Sekhar Samanta

    Hi,
It all depends on what you want to change. If you provide more specific information I will be able to help you better.
    Basicly:
In our project we used to modify css-file and web template files. It works fine as long as you test your modifications. If you want to change the layout (color, padding, width) there is not mucht to test. Just make sure the controls are properly displayed in the UI after the modification.
A bit trickier ist it to add more controls or new sections in the web template. Siebel uses control ids in the template which you see as placeholders in siebel tools. So you have to make sure that you wont use the same contol id s more than once otherwise you will have a problem that can lead to core dumps in the siebel client. (Only ListBody and ListHeader share the same control Id..) Every control id has to be unique. Not only in CCPopupListMvg but also in all included web templates files (e.g. CCListHeader.swt).
Be carefull with lists because control id's will be set in for loops. Also List Header and List Body need to have the same control id so siebel can mapp the caption of a list column to the list header.
    (e.g. CCListBody <swe:for-each startValue="501" count="40" ....>, CCListHeader <swe:for-each startValue="501" count="40" ....>)
Whatever you do don't remove any control ids. If you do, controls that are mapped to the control id in siebel tools will not be shown in the client anymore. You will not get an exception. It just wont be displayed. So the thread is that the applets will not work properly anymore and you won't even know it untill a user misses a column or a button or whatever control was mapped to it. If you still do, you will have to check every applet in siebel tools.
Also you have to check if CCPopupListMvg.swt is included in any other web template because your changes would affect those web templates as well.
You have to concider that siebel does not know about your changes. So in future releases they will still use vanilla CCPopupListMvg.swt and maybe also modify it in vanilla. The template will be overwritten on siebel upgrades. So you will have to make your modifications after every siebel upgrade again.
    I hope this helps.
    Regards

  • What impact do changes to the CUCM "Default Credential Policy" have?

    Hi all,
We have been asked to make an update to the 'Default Credential Policy' on CUCM 6.1. The update is easy enough to carry out:  User Management > Credential Policy > Default Credential Policy.
However, Cisco documentation isn't too clear as to what accounts this will impact. As best i can tell any changes made here will impact any 'new' Application or SuperUser (etc) accounts that are created *after* the policy is updated.  Existing application accounts won't get impacted and would require a Bulk Upload to change them. Does that sound correct?
I'm also a little unsure if changes to this policy will impact the 'administrator' account that we created when we installed CUCM, or any of the normal 'phone' user accounts that our many IP phone users have (i presume not, but again Cisco documentation doesn't seem too hot on precisely what gets impacted by changes to this policy).
Screenshot below of the GUI screen i am referring to.
    Thoughts appreciated.
    Many thanks!

Quick bump. We've read a few links that suggest User and Application User passwords etc would be impacted.  However, they don't mention the main Administrator account, nor if we would need to use Bulk Upload to change existing User and Application User settings after chaning the Default Policy settings:

Ironically, a Google search for "CUCM Default Credential Policy" now lists this post as the fifth most significant one when trying those search terms doh!
    Any thoughts appreciated.

  • Impacts of Changing DNS

    Hi all,
i have an Exchange 2010 Organisation spanning 2 sites.
I am migrating DC and DNS from Windows 2003 R2 to Windows 2008 R2, and a new DC and DNS is already in place.
    My questions are:
    1) any known impacts in changing DNS on Network Settings on my Exchange Server?
    2) Where do i have to modify - on Exchange Managemente Console - settings for pointing to a new DC/DNS? any known impacts doing that too?
    Thanks to all in advance

As commented above it will connect to the next available DC in the same site. Jut change the DNS IPs in exchange server and follow any of these if you want to specify which DC/GC to use, and it will not create issues for you.
