Impact of disabled and required attributes in h:selectOneListbox

Hi
I have a drop down box as below. When a 'country' radio button is selected as "Other Country" i set 'Foreign Country' as state value and disable it.
but when i submit, ValidationException is shown as "State is mandatory".
Can someone guide me wat is the proper way to handle this scenario. I shud mandate the drop down required value as 'true'.i do not want server side submit when i selected 'Other Country'(setting as 'Foreign Country' and disable it, i am doing @ client side using javascript)
<h:selectOneListbox required="true" requiredMessage="State is mandatory" value="#{mybean.state}" id="state" size="1">
<f:selectItems value="#{config.stateMap}" />
</h:selectOneListbox>
Thanks

I have already answered it in one of your previous topics how to solve it.

    Hi,
    I get this error when i include some namespaces in my ResourceDictionary to specify a Style for a custom control.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thx

    Hi,
    That's the whole point. I don't want to use x:TypeArguments on a ResourceDictionary but the compiler says it needs it.
    And i don't know why.
    This code give no error:
    <ResourceDictionary
    xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
    xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
    xmlns:sys="clr-namespaceystem;assembly=mscorlib">
    </ResourceDictionary>
    And by adding 3 namespaces it gives that weard error:
    <ResourceDictionary
    xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
    xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"

  • Required attribute and cancel action

    How am I supposed to handle the following case (simplified):
    <h:inputText required="true" value="#{somebean.property}" />
    <h:messages />
    <h:commandButton type="submit" value="Cancel" action="cancel" />
    The "cancel" action is configured in faces-config.xml to navigate to another page and works like expected without the "required" attribute.
    But if I include the "required" attribute I get a validation error message and the navigation to the wanted page does not take place.

    For action like "cancel" I would recommend to use attribute "immediate"
    <h:commandButton action="cancel" value="Cancel" immediate="true"/>Vladimir

  • Supports, NotSupported, and Required EJB Attributes

    Here is what I have:
    1. Servlet Method (Web Tier) 'A' calls an EJB Method 'B' on the EJB tier. This 'B' method is given <Supports> or <NotSupported> Transactional Attribute. The bean is container managed stateless session.
    Now, method B does not have a TX but it calls method 'C' in the same bean. Method C has <Required> attribute. Therefore, it should start a JTA transaction upon entry and commit/rollback upon exit.
    The EJB container complians about "Global Transaction Not Started" when I reach 'C'. However, if I call C directly from A no problem.
    The problem is this:
    I need to make a RMI call from the servlet to the EJB method 'B'
    Then in Method 'B' I would like to have a loop that iterates over a set of
    accounts and for each account I want to conduct a TX using method 'C'
    If I declare B and C both with Required tag, then a TX will start upon
    entry into B and then the entire LOOP will be one single big TX
    which means it will commit for all accounts or abort for all accounts
    This is not what I want. I want each iteration of the FOR LOOP to be
    an independent TX so I thought I could do so by making method B
    <NotSupported> or <Supports> while making method C <Required>
    So, do I have to move the LOOP to the web tier? I would rather keep it in the EJB tier for a host of complex reasons.
    Thanks in advance

    Yes. I do a lookup via jndi and use the connection. Transaction are CMP, no entity beans envolved.
    By the way, I think that the problem is related to the fact that the two call to M2 may use different phisical connections to the db, enlisted in the transaction
    generated by M1 of Ejb A. If the second call were able to share the same connection, I'd bet that the problem would not exist.that's a reasonable guess. is M2 a local ejb call? if so, you should be able to pass the current connection into the call. i'm kind of surprised the datasource lookup code is not returning the same physical connection for the same thread/transaction.

  • Problem with "required" attribute in inputBox

    Hi ,
    I have a requirement where a input field needs to be populated using lookup.
    I am using commandButton to populate the input field.Since I dont want user to type anything in this input Field , I have made this field readOnly.
    This is a mandatory field so I have put required attribute true.But on the click of submit button this validation does not trigger.If I make remove readOnly attribute or make it false, the validation triggers.Here is the snippet for this part.
    <afh:rowLayout>
    <afh:cellFormat halign="right" >
    <af:commandButton id="lookupFrom_buttonId" text="From Mfg:"
    action="dialog:company.selectBox"
    immediate="true" windowWidth="390" windowHeight="550"
    launchListener="#{mfgReassignBean.addParameter}"
    returnListener="#{mfgReassignBean.returnFromMfr}"
    partialSubmit="true" useWindow="true"
    >
    </af:commandButton>
    </afh:cellFormat>
    <af:inputText
    partialTriggers="lookupFrom_buttonId"
    readOnly="true"
    required="true"
    binding="#{mfgReassignBean.fromDeveloperInput}"
    value="#{mfgReassignBean.assignmentRule.fromMfgName}"
    />
    </afh:rowLayout>
    has anybody faced such situation...any suggestions ?
    Thanks!!

    disabled and readonly fields are discarded from the JSF stack and thus not validated! Options are: make readonly field not readonly on form submit or copy readonly field to hidden field (both involve client side javascript)

  • RMS Supplier VC required attribute

    Hi,
    In RMS supplier maintenance page, there is VC required, VC pnt, VC frq attribute. Do you know what they are used for? How will they impact the business?
    Thank you for your help.
    Best Regards,
    Eileen

    Hello Eileen,
    VC Required : Determines whether orders from this supplier will default as requiring vendor control. A value of Y means that all orders from this supplier will require vendor control. An N in this field means that vendor control will not be required.
    VC PCT : Indicates the percentage of items per receipt that will be marked for vendor checking.
    VC FREQ : Indicates the frequency in which items per receipt will be marked for vendor checking.
    The second and third attributes are optional. Hope this helps. Thanks.

  • Global and Tp Attributes

    Hello Friends,
    I need to store some additional information in the DFF of OE_ORDER_HEADERS_ALL.
    The problem is that, all the columns from attribute1 to attribute20 have already been used. It has been observed that, there are some TPATTRIBUTES 1 to 15 as well as Global attributes.
    Only thing which I understood is, TP and Global attributes are used for country specific and localizaiton purposes, however since we are not using Trading partner, and these columns are free.. Is it feasible (without any impact) to use them? and in that case, Will the form of Sales Order show these additional DFFs?
    I tried to check, however Global attribute DFF was not found on the form , for TP attributes, it was found but was covered by field Order Source .. Any suggestions?
    Best Regards

    Extended attribute :-
    Group of attribute value hold this values .
    from 001 to 10000 - product category . you can mention
    otherwise PRCAT = 001 ,002......10,000 you have to make one by one single entry.

  • File and boolean attribute on item

    Hi,
    I work with Oracle9iAS Portal PL/SQL API (9.0.2.6).
    I define an item type (CAID = 213/ ID = 37399) with several attributes. When I try to create/modify an item I have problems with boolean attributes and file attributes.
    In case of boolean attributes, I'm not able to set the value to true. I try with several values (IS_ON, True, 1) but the attribute is still set to false. Is there anything wrong with the value I assign to the attribute before creating the item ? When I try to create the item and then modifying the attribute, the value stay to false.
    For the file attributes, I use the upload_blob function inside wwsbr_api and the file appear in the wwdoc_document table. I set the file attribute value with the return value of the upload_blob function.
    When I call the add_item_post_upload, an error occurs (ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: java.lang.NullPointerException : -29532)
    Is this a bug or not ?

    Hi Eddy:
    On Friday, we put in a TAR with Oracle support about the identical problem. When editing an item using the API, the boolean attributes always reset. The values of the boolean attributes aren't even being changed. The only reason we need to set them again is the limitation of the API where you have to feed all attributes back in.
    So far, Oracle has said it sounds like a bug and they want to know the exact sequence of steps to repeat it.

  • Develop a report to migrate territories and its attributes

    Hi All,
    My requirement -> create territories, assign BP and attributes to it through a custom report. Using BAPI BAPI_TERRITORY_CREATE I manage to create territories but assign BP and Attributes i did not find any FM and BAPI. kindly guide me how i can assign BP and Attributes to a territories.
    By debugging transaction crmm_terrman i found some FMs but not working for me.
    regards,
    Noor Gani

    Hello Noor,
    I'm not sure but if you are talking about the marketing attributes, you can definitely use FM - CRM_MKTBP_ASSIGN_ATTRIBUT_TAB
    You need to pass the profile id, partner id and marketing attributes data. Thats it.
    I think the FM you ar eusing for terrritory is fine. It should work.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks
    Vishal

  • Dbms_redefinition package and COMPRESS attribute of the target table

    Hi experts,
    we have an already partitioned and compressed table under Oracle 10g R2 wich we want to move to another tablespace using online redefinition.
    The table should keep the Partitions and compressed data after the move.
    My question is: How much storage we must have in place for the move of the table ?
    Example:
    tab (compressed size) : 1000 MB
    tab (uncompressed size) : 4000 MB
    Seems it depends on how redefinition handles the move of the compressed data.
    So if redefinition uses INSERT /* APPEND */ .... is should be roundabout 1000 MB ("compress during write")
    Is this assumption correct ?
    Can anybody shed some light on redefinition wich kind of compression-conserving stragetgy it uses ?
    bye
    BB

    From the 11.2 admin guide:
    Create an empty interim table (in the same schema as the table to be redefined) with all of the desired logical and physical attributes. If columns are to be dropped, do not include them in the definition of the interim table. If a column is to be added, then add the column definition to the interim table. If a column is to be modified, create it in the interim table with the properties that you want.The table being redefined remains available for queries and DML during the entire process.
    Execute the FINISH_REDEF_TABLE procedure to complete the redefinition of the table. During this procedure, the original table is locked in exclusive mode for a very short time, independent of the amount of data in the original table. However, FINISH_REDEF_TABLE will wait for all pending DML to commit before completing the redefinition.>
    If you did not want to create an interim table, then this approach is not going to work for you. There is no requirement for you to create anything other than the interim table, and any dependent objects can be done automatically, including materialized views. Where did you see that you have to create mview logs?

  • Dynamic ALV with Static and Dynamic attributes

    Hi All,
    In my requirement we have some 5 static attributes and rest attributes needs needs to be dynamically created based upon the input selections. for eg my input for start date and end date is between 201023 to 201152 then weeks between this range should apear as dynamic columns.
    i am able to create a dummy alv table display with out populating data into it but unable to set the data to it . Kindly help me in solving this issue.
    Regards,
    Sana.

    You might have created a dynamic node, bind the data to this node and after that use the SET_DATA method of ALV interface controller to set the data by passing the dynamically created node.
