Impact of Hide (Can be Shown) in Query

Hi Friends,
Whats the Impact of  Hide (Can be shown) function which is available for the Keyfigure Properties in the Query Designer?
Thanks in Advance
Chandu

Hi Chandu,
This means that this KF is not shown when the query is executed, but if the user want to see this, then they can go to the local change mode, or click on Filter for the KF structure and bring this 'hidden' KF into the query. Just something like the free chars in your report, not present in the results, but available.
Hope this helps...

  • Query variable shows up even when "Hide (Can Be Shown)" is checked

    BW gurus,
When we run a BEX report, a variable needs to be input with value, but when we check the variable property in the BEX design, find under Hide list, there are three list values:
    1. Always show
    2. Hide (Can Be Shown)
    3. Always hide
The 2nd one "Hide (Can Be Shown)" is selected for this variable display feature.  It seems that this variable should be hidden for option 2, but why this variable shows up when running the query. When we edit this variable, find the "Ready for input" is checked, that's the reason for it?
    Thanks

    Hi Kevin,
When we edit this variable, find the "Ready for input" is checked, that's the reason for it?
Yes, that's why it is showing, but I also do not understand what you are trying to do.

  • Key Figures With Hide can be shown showing wrong values when displayed in a query

    Hi Experts,
I have a qiery with two structures in the column(cell Definition) three key figures are displayed and the rest are all hide can be displayed. However whenever i display one of the hidden key figures along with one displayed key figures it initially shoes incorrect values. Once i add another key figure (which has status always show) the hidden jey figure value gets corrected. Is it a problem with the structure? Kindly assist. For example  when i display the actuals(always show) and actuals rate(hide can be shown) the values for actuals rate are wrong , however when i add the plan rate(always ahow) the values for actual rate gets corrected. Screenshots for structures below.

    Hi Sayanto,
For this I would recommend you to check the Key figure definition in all 3 situations.
    1. original display
    2. display of hidden KF
    3. Display of existing KF
I suspect that cell references may have some effect on the calculation as you are adding the hidden KF in analyzer directly. You can prove this only by checking  Key figure definition.
Please let me know if you are facing any issue in getting the Key figure definition itself.
Also, as Cornelia suggested check if you have any constant selection applied to any of your KFs.
    Hope this helps.

  • Facing problem in display of  measure with property "hide can be shown"

    Hi Experts,
Am facing a strange problem in BEx Analyzer. I have used a global structure with formulaes & Selections. For few formules i have used Display option as "hide can be shown".
when i open the report in Analyzer and perform drilldown on line items "with hide can be shown" say line items X.
i cannot see this X line items in result set area.
I tried checking all properties, but could not find the root cause.
Can anyone please help me in this problem.
    regards
    Jasmine

    Hi,
I order the display the missing key figures - you need to e.g. right click on Key Figures in the Filter section and press Select filter values. Here you should be able to add you missing key figures to the selection. You can also just right click Key figures in the filter section and click Remove filter.
    Best regards,

Can anyone tell me how can i optimize this query ??? :

    OR ( LOWER (eopersona.ciudad) LIKE '%caracas%' AND ( eopersona.id = rscv.idpersona )
PLEASE IF YOU FIND SOMETHING WRONG.. PLEASE HELP ME.. this query takes me aproximatelly 10 minutes and the database is really small ( with only 200 records on each table )

You are querying eight tables, however in any of your OR predicates you're only restricting 3 or 4 of those tables. That means that the remaining 4 or 5 tables are generating cartesian products. (n.b. the cartesian product of 5 tables with 200 rows each results in g 200^5 = 320,000,000,000 rows) Then you casually hide this behind "distinct".
A simple restatement of your requirements looks like this:
    Select eopersona.numident
      From rscompeten,
           rscompet,
           rscv,
           eopersona
    Where LOWER (rscompeten.nombre) LIKE '%caracas%'
       AND rscompeten.id = rscompet.idcompeten
       AND rscv.id = rscompet.idcv
       AND eopersona.id = rscv.idpersona
    UNION
    Select eopersona.numident
      From rscurso ,
           rscv,
           eopersona
    Where LOWER (rscurso.nombre) LIKE '%caracas%'
       AND rscv.id = rscurso.idcv
       AND eopersona.id = rscv.idpersona
    UNION
    Select eopersona.numident
      From rscurso ,
           rscv,
           eopersona
    Where LOWER (rscurso.lugar) LIKE '%caracas%'
       AND rscv.id = rscurso.idcv
       AND eopersona.id = rscv.idpersona
    UNION
...From there you can eliminate redundancies as desired, but I imagine that the above will perform admirably with the data volumes you describe.

  • Help Required -- Can we use SQL Query to READ data from SAP MDM Tables

    Hi All,
    Please help.........
Can we use SQL Query to READ(No Creation/Updation/Deletion  just Read) Data from SAP MDM tables directly, without using MDM Syndicator.
Or direct SQL access to SAP MDM tables is not possible. Only through MDM Syndicator can we export data.
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards

All the tables you create in Repository comes under A2i_CM_Tables in Database named as your repository name. So the tables names are fields of table A2i_CM_Tables. Now i tried it but cant make it.
Now, I dont think its possible to extract all fields in tables and there values using select query. May be pure sql guy can do that or not.
But there is no relation of data extraction and syndicator. Data is viewed in Data Manager. and you can also store data in a file from DM also.

  • Crystal Report XI: Can you write your query in SQL instead of using the GUI

    Hello
In crystal report version XI, can you write your query in sqlplus and then use the crystal report designer to build your report instead of using the GUI . I would like to be able to go database and show sql query and open that query and make changes directly there, is that possible on this version, if yes is there a setting somewhere? Please let me know.
    Thank you

No you can no longer modify the SQL directly. Use a Command Object to enter the SQL directly.

  • How can I create a query with web service data control?

I need to create a query with web service data control, in WSDL, it's query operation, there is a parameter message with the possible query criteria and a return message contains the results. I googled, but cannot find anything on the query with web service. I cannot find a "Named Criteria" in web service data control like normal data control. In Shay's blog, I saw the topics on update with web service data control. How can I create a query with web service data control? Thanks.

How can I get a query in the search field to open in a new tab or new window from the current window?

If you are searching via the Search Bar on the Navigation Toolbar, this preference can be changed to have searches there open in a Tab.
Type '''about:config''' in the Address Bar and hit Enter. Then answer "I'll be careful". Type this pref in the Search at the top.
    '''browser.search.openintab''' = double-click to toggle to '''true'''

    Hi Siva,
Reporting statistics data is only written to the database table if BW statistics have been manually activated for the corresponding InfoProvider first. If this has not been done, it is therefore not possible to display any reporting statistics in transaction ST03.
Therefore activate the reporting statistics for all relevant InfoProviders. To do this, set the OLAP flag in the BW Administrator Workbench (transaction RSA1) in the area Tools ® BW Statistics for InfoProvider.

  • How can I make CONTAINS query work for a date range

In either 9i or 10g (eventual). I have a CONTEXT index that contains multiple columns from multiple tables and using a USER_DATASTORE. E.g., I have names that come from 3 different table locations and dates that come from 4. I can index them fine but how can I perform a single consolidated CONTAINS query against the single CONTEXT index to do the following:
smith WITHIN lname AND john WITHIN fname AND dob BETWEEN '19870315' and '19970315'
I know that I can use a mixed query but this is inefficient (esp since I have birth dates in multiple tables). Is there any algorithm for a range operator (>, <, between?) within the CONTAINS operator?
CTXCAT index is not an option, as I have many text columns I am searching.
    Thanks!

When you run the cdstore.sql, in addition to creating the ctx_cd package, it also creates the friedman package that contains the algorithm that the ctx_cd package uses. You could use the functions from that friedman package in your procedure for your user_datastore and in the creation of your query string, as demonstrated below.
