Impact of Lowering AAoA Slightly?

My AAoA at the moment is roughly 12 years.  I am calculating that if I were to open one new account, it would lower my AAoA to about 11,5 to 11.6 years.  I am just wondering if anyone has studied AAoA's enough to know if this degree of reduction would be a enough to have much of a negative impact on scoring, or would 11+ years likely still be considered as positive as 12 or so years?  Any idea what FICO scoring considers an optimum AAoA? Thanks to all!

IMO an AAoA of 10 years or more is certainly adequate for achieving a potential Fico 8 score of 850. Your credit score is unlikely to be impacted by such a slight drop in AAoA. However, the hard inquiry associated with opening a new account may drop your Fico 8 score and would most likely drop your Fico 4 score. The inquiry is a factor in scoring for one year. (I had a hard inquiry 6/2014 associated with a CLI request - it did drop my Fico 4 but did not drop my Fico 8 - My AAoA is currently 16 years). It appears that Fico 8 may have a higher threshold on # of hard inquiries before impacting score.It was a step function under FICO 4 from data, likely is under FICO 8.  Thresholds for individual breakpoints may have changed though, testable in the future just never really bothered as I personally view inquiries to be mostly irrelevant (within reason). Does look on Beacon 5.0 with 3 scoreable inquiries on my report, I gained 7 points when I went down to 2, and lost them again when I went back up to 3 as a recent data example. Also and I hate to say that there's anything wrong with a perfect FICO 8 score; however, your file may not track with anyone not at 850 - we've seen there can be blemishes and still be 850 in the past from some of android01 and other's reports and as such not everything has to be absolutely spotless to hit 850 which makes it sort of hard to test on for things like inquiries and what not until you're below that point and whatever buffer you have is gone.

    EXACTLY!!! The effect lessens with the MORE you have. If you close cards, the less you have in the future to nullify the closing effect. Thank you for pointing that out. So if the effect LESSENS with the MORE cards you have, then it makes sense to NOT CLOSE them.

    It's an average.  Both the number of accounts and the ages of the accounts matter.  A strong AAoA can be built with a few well aged accounts.   Again, don't assume that these are one-size-fits-all matters.  If X works for you, that's great.  The next may use a different approach. johnnyconsumer wrote:

    I have six credit cards aging back to 2010 in order.
    2010-Capital one platinum-100/750
    2010-U.S. Bank-0/300
    2010-Capital one quicksilver- 0/500
    2012-Lowes-0/500
    2012-Walmart-0/800
    2012-Target-0/200
    & just yesterday approved for Amex 3,500
    I was hoping that I could close U.S. Bank, lowes, Walmart,& target & combine my capital 1 cards just keep the platinum from 2010 & not ding my credit. Is this possible? Also, would it look bad if it shows closed accounts on my credit.
    My reasoning is I do not will not ever shop at Walmart it was a while back, they offered it and I took it just cause but I never step foot in there. Same with lowes nothing against them but I hardly ever go there. Target is a useless cl, & so is us bank it seems. Not to mention now that I got Amex I feel like I'm in the big leagues with you guys. Store cards seem to be unnecessary.

  • P45 platinum and CPU coolers.

    Right, looking to replace my current CPU cooler with more effective one but there seems to be a slight problem if one wants to get a proper tower-type cooler on this board.
    Had a look at coolink corator DS and noctua NH-D14 ( or something like that) and their compatibility list on websites state pretty clearly that they won't fit because of excessive height of chipset cooling.
    Same thing apparently applies to thermalrights silver arrow. Couldn't find any info about Prolimatechs megahalems rev 2 on their site.
    So, what CPU-coolers have you been using on this board. I'm not afraid of slightly modifying them as long as it doesn't impact the performance. Slight bending of fins enough to make them fit or is there actually a cooler available that fits straight away?

  • MSI Afterburner and GTX 570 Twin Frozr 3

    So I recently purchased a gtx570 and see that I cannot even see what voltage I  am at with afterburner , no matter what I try I cant change or see voltage , I find it amusing that MSI is advertised on the box for an MSI card yet it doesnt work with my Twin Frozr 3 .
    Does anybody have a tweak for afterburner so I can see what voltage I am at , I wish to attempt to lower my voltage and keep stock OC settings .
    I do not wish to use 2 programs when afterburner is  already the best and from msi .
    Also , can lowering voltage slightly @ stock settings cause any  harm whatsoever ?

    As your rotate the image, you will begin to see black edges. So, as Tom implies, the image must be scaled up to hide those voids. If you shot 4k ad are editing in a HD timeline, no problem, lots of room to spare. If you shot 1080 and are editing in a 1080 timeline, you will run into issues at a certain point. However, if your 1080 project is going to be transcoded to 720 or ye olde DVD you won't notice any deterioration at all.

  • Core duo with 32"LCD TV slight problems

    I've decided to buy an LCD High def telly with HDMi input. So I puchased a DVi to HDMi lead and everything looks great on the telly when set at 720p.
    Only thing is, the top and bottom of the screen are missing so I can't see the menu bar. To cure this i've used switchresx control panel to alter the settings to achieve a lower resolution, of around 1102x620. After messing around with the front porch (or whatever you call it) the picture is now central and pretty much fully visible.
    But I can't help but think that i'm missing out on some pixels! Is there any way I can run it at the full 720p or 1366x768 and adjust that resolution to just fit? It's like it just needs shrinking a little.
    It's also worth pointing out that this is with overscan turned on. Without overscan the picture doesn't fill the screen and has black borders.

    It's an Acoustic Solutions LCD32KD750HDF. With overscan off I can't really seem to get any setup that doesn't have a big black border, plus there are no settings possible on the telly when running through HDMi, it is fixed at whatever is being inputted.
    It looks great at 720p with overscan on, it's just that the top, bottom and sides are cut off so I can't see the menu bar. Also when running front row, the time display on a song disappears of the edge of the screen.
    As I say, i've lowered the resolution slightly to achieve visible screen - but it just seems to be defeating the object. The televisions native display is 1366x768 pixels, but I can't get a setup that will make that work at all.
    Again, I do apreciate all responses.

  • Slow speeds now, has my IP profile been lowered?

    My broadband has been fine for the past 2 years with a download speed of average 1.3MBs (1300kbp/s)
    There has been absolutely no changes to the environment in the house, no extensions.
    My Router is connected to the ADSL filter, connected to the master socket face plate.
    On June 2nd around 22:00 BST I noticed very high latency and disconnections on my Broadband.
    I did the usually by resetting the router, waiting a couple of minutes are restart. However that didn't fix the issue.
    I picked up the house phone and noticed there was a LOT of noise on the dialtone, I tried the 17070 quiet liine test and same again, a lot of noise.
    So I called up the BT Broadband helpdesk and spoke to a lady in India, had a long conversation with her running a few line tests and concluding there was no issue on the BT circuit side.
    So I decided to leave it and hope for the best that it would fix itself, the next morning latency is fine back to normal (pinging 4.2.2.2 <40ms) and BB is stable with no disconnects.
    However my BB speeds appeared to have dropped to about 700kbp/s tops, has BT lowered my IP profile to stabalise the line??
    Can someone advise? Here are my stats:

  • Performance Impact with OR concatenation / Inlist Iterator

    is there any performance impact with using OR concatenations or some IN-Lists?
    The function of both is the "same":
    1) Concatenation (OR-processing)
    SELECT * FROM emp WHERE mgr# = 1 OR job = ‘YOURS’;- Similar to query rewrite into 2 seperate queries
    - Which are then ‘concatenated’
    2) Inlist Iterator
    SELECT * FROM dept WHERE d# in (10,20,30);- Iteration over enumerated value-list
    - Every value executed seperately
    - Same as concatenation of 3 “OR-red” values
    So i want to know if there is any performance impact if using IN-Lists instead of OR concatenations.

    The note is very misleading and far from complete; but there is one critical point of difference that you need to observe. It's talking about using a tablescan to deal with an IN-list (and that's NOT "in-list iteration"), my comments start by saying "if there is a suitable indexed access path."
    The note, by the way, describes a transformation to a UNION ALL - clearly that would be inefficient if there were no indexed access path. (Given the choice between one tablescan and several consecutive tablescans, which option would you choose ?).
    The note, in effect, is just about a slightly more subtle version of "why isn't oracle using my index". For "shorter" lists you might get an indexed iteration, for "longer" lists you might get a tablescan.
    Remember, Metalink is not perfect; most of it is just written by ordinary people who learned about Oracle in the normal fashion.
    Quick example to demonstrate the difference between concatenation and iteration:

  • Slight glitches in Source/Canvas monitor with CUDA MPE only

    i7 3930k, Win 7 64-bit, EVGA GTX 570HD (2.5GB version).   Everything is working correctly and stable (overall) . My one gripe is that when I toggle between CUDA MPE and software MPE, the software MPE is actually smoother in many cases. The CUDA is obviously working, but I get almost a slight shimmer running up the video (not tearing) , nothing terrible but certainly annoying. Its always about half way up the video where the shimmer starts and goes up to the top and disappears. Skipping through the video one frame at a time reveals nothing, its not in the source video, this has to do with decoding or aliasing.
    It happens also at 100% pixel for pixel monitoring , I wanted to see if it was an aliasing issue, but the situation still occurs. Software MPE playback does not exhibit this glitch, so I've narrowed it down. The main question is are there NVIDIA settings in the control panel that may be not quite right? I've tried the defaults, and tweaked some of the settings, but there are a lot of options and I'm not sure which might effect the playback.
    Seems to happen the most with H.264 canon files and some ProRes stuff I've imported, but then again turning off the CUDA MPE makes the problem go away....
    Not a HDD or processor issue, those I've checked for certain.
    I am running the new 6.0.2, but it happened before as well.
    Already made sure the cores weren't parking, and they are all active....
    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hey I've been working on this with a few different systems as to try to figure out what is going on. First I am working on a Mac Mini 2011 i7 Quad with the crappy Intel 3000 low end 512MB graphics , and software MPE with the same H264 and ProRes files look flawless. Same with another PC Win7/64 HP Probook laptop I have, again with no GPU acceleration.
    Last week I picked up Adobe PP6 classroom in a book and may have stumbled upon something. Maybe not.
    Anyway on page 39, there is a paragraph on Maximum bit depth and Render quality settings, as specified in the sequence settings tab.
    "If you enable Maximum Render Quality or if you have GPU acceleration, Adobe Premiere Pro uses a more advanced system for scaling images smaller. Without this option, you may see artifacts or noise in the picture when making images smaller. Without GPU acceleration, this option will impact performance."
    Hmmmm... So I only see the "isssue" with the GPU enabled, and neither of those Maximum bit depth or Render quality options enabled on my projects. Yet without the GPU acceleration (MPE software only) and these options also not enabled, everything is fine (on my Mac Mini, my HP ProBook, and my PC where I am seeing the issue). This jives with my experience, so I am going to check those two options Monday when I get back to the office and see if that doesn't solve the issue. As if the preview monitors when GPU accelerated, almost default to a "draft" mode of rescaling/alising, this is perhaps what I am seeing. Blazing performance at the expense of a little image quality.
    The computer is so understressed during H.264 playback, I'm seeing like 8% CPU total resource usage, that I can surely afford to crank up the quality and not see any kind of dropped frames. In fact when I view the 1080p @ half resolution, I still see the slight shimmer. And this is off an OCZ Vertex 4 via SATA 6g where I'm reading 450MB/sec without breaking a sweat.

    I recently purchased a new Quad Core i5 27 iMac from Frys electronics.
    So far no screen issues or other operational issues - been running a few days now.
    I was running my hand across the top of the case and noticed and ever so slight dent/impression about 5 inches from the left.
    Anyone else have anything like that.
    I was thinking of taking it back but I have one that seems to work.

    In my opinion, you shouldn't lower that line. I almost made the same mistake but am happy that I did it! But the choice is up to you ofcourse.
    I tend to agree with you there, we are lowering our standards, because a replacement machine may be worse, but that is wrong they should all be 100% when bought new, we pay a premium price for Apple goods and should get premium quality in return.

  • R2.0.2 Release Impact on GPS

    Well, since my July 25 purchase of my 3G iPhone 16 gig, and two releases later, I finally have fallen victim to the many concerns and frustrations around GPS inaccuracies... this after zero to essentially no issues.
    I loaded R2.0.2 on Wed Aug. 20 and on my first attempt to use GPS (Google Search) to locate a local restaurant, I received a "No Results Found" message... This in lieu of the fact I did not have this problem before when I did a similar search for the same restaurant to show off the beauty of the Google Search capability to my lovely bride who was reluctant for me to jump on the latest and greatest iPhone. My last search was just prior to my moving to R2.0.1 on Aug 9. In both scenarios, i was using my wi-fi at home.... also trying it out on 3G (which has vacillating signal strengths from the exact spot in my home ranging from No Svc to 2-bars... mostly zero to 1-bar).
    I made another attempt to locate this restaurant by plugging-in the actual address into the Google Search address field in GPS (this address pulled from a Goggle search thru Safari on the iPhone), and I ended up on the opposite coast of FL, 3-1/2 hours away.
    I have done Network Resets... Restore's thru iTunes as a "new iPhone User" and using previous back-ups from my iPhone, all with the same failed attempts. Apple Care was also stumped. So I have an appt. at my local Apple Store on Tuesday afternoon, 45-min away.. with no clue if they will have a replacement phone seeing the Apple Care Rep has this down as a h/w issue... or even with a temporary Svc Replacement phone, I am looking at additional time consuming trips... with no guarantees that a new 3G will resolve the issues if R2.0.2 is the cause? NOt to mention the invisible Shield I will have to re-order if they take my iPhone. I am really beginning to wonder at this point about the reliability and serviceability of this neat little device and whether it is worth the hassles?
    There are two other potential variables, while minute and seemingly non-issues... but shortly before this issue occurred I had downloaded an app from the App Store and in the past 2-hours have cradled my 3G in a beautiful Sena leather case. So did the App download cause the GPS problem? Doubt-it... since the "new Phone restore" I did, did not include the new app I downloaded... and as far as the Sena Case... if it caused the glitch, it would have had to be due to the case not allowing the 3G to breath and cool itself, which poses all kinds of other questions and concerns around the 3G? For those wondering if I charged my 3G overnight, or at all with it in the Sena Case, the answer is NO... So did the case somehow interfere with the GPS signal? No... seeing I made future attempts to search for this restaurant with the Sena Case off. If it was heat related, then it would be safe to assume that once heat induced issues impact our iPhones, it would appear to be irreversible. The iPhone did not appear to be hot when I removed it from the leather case, in fact just a slight hint of being a little warm.... and I know warm and hot seeing I own a MacBook Pro that's been on for a while.

    generally i would agree with what you said. it is kind of the squeaky wheel effect. but i don't think so in this case. I don't think anyone is immune from the slow sync problem. Some are not as bad as others, but just about everyone has seen a slow down. And 2 hours to sync 2 added songs doesn't cut it for me.
    As for me. i tried 7.0.2 on a clean copy of windows that i keep on a spare drive, for emergency purposes. Upon going through the looking for album art 3 times (several hours each time) i have album art for every song in my collection by the way. i made the mistake of connecting my ipod. i did not update the software, as i knew i would be going back to it6 on my normal partition. Well itunes 7 managed to screw up the art work on the ipod, erasing almost half of it. i ended up having to restore and connecting back to it6 where it fixed the problem.
    So i guess what i am saying is that i have more than just rumors to go on. Anyway. IT7 LOOKS cool! I love the new way the ipod interacts, the pages, and the graphical depiction of hard drive usage.
    I don't like, and i hope its only a bug, that you can not add files to the ipod directly. they must first be added to your library. And more than that, i HATE that you can only add one song at a time using the add file to library feature. In IT6 you could select several songs at once to add.

  • Experiencing slight lag in some apps

    Starting around a few days ago, I experienced slight lag in some games and apps that I have, mostly graphic-intensive ones (but some simple graphics ones also) and also iPod (tiny bit of lag when scrolling sometimes). Note that I did not upgrade to 3.0 yet since some games and apps are experiencing severe issues with 3.0 and I'm waiting for their update to come out before updating to 3.0. For games, sometimes the character would freeze for a fraction of a second, and for the next few seconds the framerate would be greatly reduced, but after those few seconds it would be normal again. Cutscenes will usually experience slightly lowered framerate since it's not perfectly smooth anymore, and with DDR-S (music rhythm game) often the arrows will be jumbled up and game will freeze for a second. Lots of apps will take a few seconds longer to respond/load. I have restarted my iPhone four times now, and I did not download anything except apps and games, or change any settings. It's also not a low disk space problem because I've had 2GB free space for at least a month now and it never lagged before.
    Is this a problem with memory or something? But wouldn't that usually be solved by restarting? Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it, thanks.

    It's quite amazing I did not find a single way to contact Apple in this official website, as no way I'm paying money to call them for help on a product I spent hundreds of dollar on.

  • Have you had high cc usage for a planned expense that lowered your FICO scores?

    In a week or so I am initiating some home improvements and repairs. I know the charges to my cc will be way over the ideal limit until I pay it(them) down, but I now have zero interest on several cards so now is the time to do it. Has someone done this and seen their credit scores sink to the bottom of the barrel? I am thinking I should just not look at scores while I am doing these necessary things and just continue paying down the balances until my credit scores recover. How badly did your credit take a hit if you have done this? Was it worth it to you? (I only just got these scores in the last weeks due to utilization and new accounts.) Oh, and what is considered 100% usage?     Utilization is balance/limit.  If the balance equals the limit it's 100%. Musiclover wrote:

  • Impact on Portal if changing IP address of backend systems ?

    Slightly different scenario to the usual "change of ip" address questions.
    We have an EP6 Portal used for SSO access to backend R/3, CRM, BW systems.
    Does anyone know the impact on the Portal side if the IP address is changed for the backend systems only ?
    The Portal system IP address will not change.
    The changes requires on the backend systems is already known about,
    as they are addressed in notes: 88346, 403708, 757692.
    From browsing the forums, I am expecting the Portal will need a restart because
    the JVM caches IP addresses.
    Refer: Controlling DNS caching in the Java Virtual Machine (i.e. J2EE WAS)
    Is there likely to be an impact on SSO, or anything else on the Portal side ?

    Hi Andres,
    No problem with the SSO and other details.
    But you have to change the hosts file and map the servername with the new IP address.
    The path for the host file in windows environment is /drivers/etc/hosts.
    Here you have to map the new IP with the corresponding server name.
    Other than this everything will work properly.
    If you are unable to change the hosts file then in the system object of the portal in the connector property set the server name to the new IP address. Everything will work properly. We had this problem and solved this.
