Impairement of Assets in R12 Oracle Assets

Dear All,
May i know Impairment of Assets functionality Exists in R12.1.1 Oracle Assets. I found that functionality in 11.5.10.2.
Can any one Help me.

Did you mean to say Downward Revaluation which is the opposite of Upward Revaluation?
Since there is a separate Impairment functionality which is aking to UK Local Authority Accounting and this is different to downward revaluation which is a standard functionality.

Hi,
In some countries, it is legally required that companies calculate depreciation after asset impairment. To do this, you have to use specific depreciation rates and base values that are contained in a special formula. The localization of the New Depreciation Engine for these countries implements this formula and enables you to calculate asset depreciation after impairment postings have been made, in accordance with the requirements. The following depreciation keys are delivered for this purpose:
Depreciation Key                                                                                Description
IDB                                                         Declining balance method for impairment with 5% scrap value
IDM                                                        Declining balance method for impairment with 0% scrap value
ILI                                                          Straight-line method for impairment with 0% scrap value
ILT                                                         Straight-line method for impairment with 5% scrap value
Features: Each depreciation key calculates depreciation using a specific formula, as follows:
●     Depreciation key IDB
Depreciation = Book value after impairment * Rate
where Rate is calculated as: 1 - (( Remaining Value / Book value after impairment )1/Remining useful life).
Depreciation is calculated in the following years based on the net book value of an asset.
●     Depreciation key IDM
Depreciation in the year of impairment = Book value after impairment * Rate * 10/9
where Rate is calculated as: 1 u2013 0.11/Remining useful life.
Depreciation in the following years = Remaining depreciable value * Rate * 10/9
where Remaining depreciable value is calculated as: book value after impairment * ( 1 u2013 Rate ) past years.
●     Depreciation key ILI
Depreciation = Book value after impairment * 1 / n
where n is remaining useful life.
●     Depreciation key ILT
Depreciation = ( Book value after impairment u2013 remaining value ) * 1 / n
where n is remaining useful life.

How to run R12 Oracle E-Business Suite Pre-install Patches Report

Hi.
I have downloaded, unzipped this report as per R12 Oracle E-Business Suite Pre-install Patches Report [Video] (Doc ID 1448102.1)
What then? The instructions say
Unzip the file, extracting the entire contents, which creates the "EBS_12.1_Preinstall" folder. (The unzipped folder will use <1 MB of storage space.)
Navigate to the EBS_12.1_Preinstall folder
Open the file 'index.html' in a browser
Do not rename any of the the files in the EBS_12.1_Preinstall folder. Such an action will break the report.
But the "Index" is supposed to show what? At the moment all I see is a number of sections that have nothing in them (the other html pages, like AP etec, do provide information)

R12 Oracle Diagnostics Zip files

Sorry if this has been asked before but my understanding is Oracle Support's preference when uploading multiple files to an SR is to zip them into a single zip file.
However when you are asked by Support to run multiple R12 Oracle Diagnostics each resulting html file arrives compressed in its own zip file.
This creates a problem because as far as I know you cannot zip multiple zip files together and you must go through the laborious task of extracting out each html file, renaming it so the file name is meaningful, and then zip then all up together into a single zip file.
Not an issue for 2 or 3 but when you are asked for diagnostics on 20 transactions it can take some time.
Does anyone know a way around this by perhaps obtaining the resulting html file uncompressed and named with the file name you specified at run time?

Well this is embarrasing. I've just rechecked and you're quite right, it is possible to zip 2 zip files together.
I could have sworn I've tried this before and it didn't work.

Not sure how it is working for you, but what I trying to is to reuse the sharable base adf bc model in multiple projects (using jdev 11.1.1.1.0). Basically, i have the following structure
1. Base Model project (first workspace): that has an ADF Library deployment profile. In this project, I made sure that the project -> Project Properties -> Business Components -> Options-> Copy Package XML files to ClassPath is checked.
2. Another MODEL project (Second workspace): I don't have any view controller project here. I can add the adf library (created in #1) through the resource palette to my second model project that is in a separate workspace, but when i try to create a new entity in this project that is based on an old entity, the wizard does not show any base entities that were packaged in the base model project that was created in #1.
Do you have any tips? In additon to the links you mentioned above, I have gone through the following, but of no avail. I would appreciate any help.

Continuous reports of R12 Oracle Teleservices experience - is it a profile issue?

We have a call center of approximately 70 agents - all work in R12 Oracle Teleservices Module. There are 2 users that continue to report issues with Oracle experience, i.e. FRM 92100, slowness, unresponsive, freezing, etc. We have reset their Windows Profile, gave them new computers, and they continue to report. They have also logged in as a different user, and they report that their issues go away. We have matched their profiles across other agents to see differences in them, but nothing is noticeable. We currently have Employee Records tied to their Oracle Profile and cannot create a second Oracle User that would tie to the same Employee Record. My question is, is there another approach that we can test to see if their issues are in fact with their Oracle Profile or is it a Windows/Computer issue? Any information, guidance shared is appreciated.

do the following procedure
Intended functionality as Create Accounting - Payments was ran with the ERRORS ONLY parameter set to YES.
Errors Only Parameter is a required field, if set to YES it limits the creation of accounting to those events with error status only. If intent is to run Create Accounting - for all erred or unprocessed event then parameter should be set to NO.

You can set this maximum amount limit in internal bank account level under account controls tab. I hope this will be applicable if you are using payment workbench screen for processing payments.
Not sure for payment batches, just test the scenario in test instance.

Impairment of assets(product licence)

I have a product licence called xyz with a net book value of rs10,000 on the Market Cost Register . I want to fully impair i.e. write down this asset so that the net book value is zero. Just to clarify I want the asset still listed on the register but with a net book value of zero. In order to enable me to do this I need to know:

this issue got resolved by changing the depreciation key in the asset master ...
whenever they can execute the next depreciation run, value becomes zero and is asset will display in the relevant report with zero value.

Cannot load Java plug-in and access R12 Oracle form from client

Hi, one of my user cannot open Oracle form when accessing R12 environment using IE6. After selecting responsibility and menu, it got stuck after 50% processing when trying to load Java applet. It never got completed even after waiting for 2-3 hours.
Is there any browser setting that needs to be modified? I checked popup blocker and activeX setting. All seem to be in order. Kindly assist. Thanks.

What is the difference between this client and other clients?
Delete the browser cache/history files and check then. If this does not help, enable trace for JRE (as per Note: 549423.1 - How to enable tracing and logging for Sun JRE (Native Plug-in)) and see if it shows any errors when you encounter this issue.

E-Business Suite R12 Oracle services loading sequence in Windows 2003

Can anyone tell me what is the loading sequence for the following Oracle services for EBS R12 in Windows 2003.
1) Oracle Fulfillment Server service for VIS
2) Oracle Service VIS
3) OracleConcMgrVIS service
4) Oracle RDBMS TNS Listener
5) Oracle ToolsTNSListener
I have the problem where when Windows 2003 starts up, Oracle Fulfillment Server service for VIS is attempting to stop. Seems like the service is set automatic start somehow. I have to wait the service to be completely stopped, and manually restart the service. But I do not know what is the reason that cause this problem

Start the following services first or set to Automatic:
Oracle RDBMS TNS Listener
Oracle Service VIS
Set the remaining services to Manual
Go to your %APPL_TOP% directory and click on envshell<SID>_<host>.cmd. You can create a shortcut and place it somewhere more convenient. Then cd %ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME% and run adstrtal.cmd apps/apps to start all of your applications services after the database has started.
You are having problems starting applications services before the database has opened.
