Which version of Designer are you using? 6i?
I would suggest you to install Oracle Designer 10g R2 as there might be bugs in earlier versions of Designer, especially in Form generation that involves LOV buttons and code.

Transparent Container Cell Background design

Hi All,
I have a scenario where in on click of a link, I'm needed to highlight a transparent container. In Webdynpro JAVA i used to achieve this using Transparent Container -> cellBackGroundDesign -> WDCellBackgroundDesign.BORDER
What is the equivalent of this in WD ABAP. I do not find any such attribute in particular.
Any pointers on this will be of great help.

Hi All
On switching from flow to matrix layout I found the property cellBackGroundDesign, but it is not bindable to an attribute, in my scenario I'm needed to set the border/highlight dynamically. Please suggest if there is an alternative.

How It Works
To export a design file open a form file, go to the Design tab and select “Export Design File…” from File menu. The file extension of the exported Design File will be ".FCDT" - FormsCentral Design Template.
To import a design file go to the “My Forms” dashboard and select “Import Design File…” from File menu. Select the desired .FCDT file.
NOTE: The FCDT file contains the form Design only – it does not contain options, responses or summary reports.

It states that you can save your design and open it "This feature is availabe to free and paid users of FormsCentral" but it is greyed out on the free version. Will not let me import design I created. I had issues with the first design and tried to redesign and ended up with more issues that combined the first design with the second design.
Can someone assist me with this, please,

Retire Oracle Designer development and continue with just using Forms 11

Hi,
The company I am working for is taking over responsibility for an Oracle Designer 10 application.
Due to Oracle Designer is an outdated development environment we are looking for potential solutions how to get rid of Designer without completely redeveloping or replacing the application.
One options we thought about is to switch off Designer and only continuing to use Oracle Forms 11.
Do anyone of you have experience in this area which you would like to share?

There are a lot of case generated (CG$) trigger and procedures used in the Forms. For us the code seems to be very complex and hard to read.
But, also some of them seems to be never used or it is just the statement "null" in it.
We thought about SQL Developer Data Modeler to capture most of the Designer stuff. But still there is the technical documentation that is not fully supported by SDDM. Did anyone migrate these Designer documentation to an other tool? If yes, to which one and how? We tried the SDDM Report functionality to capture some of the documentation, but also these reports do not contain everything that Designer could provide.
There are also "Preference Sets" used in Designer and we are wondering how to migrate these to Forms Builder. Did anyone migrate these preference sets to Forms Builder in the past and has some experiences/examples/recommendations about that? We thought about one "global" form that could contain these preference sets and then inherit them.
There are also the Functional Hirarchie Diagrams in Designer, could they migrated to Forms or SDDM in any way? Or do we need to maintain these diagrams manually in a tool like Word or Visio?
If we could capture all the things mentioned above, we would like to continue just with Oracle Forms Builder 11gR2 in combination with other tools like SQL Developer and Data Modeler and if no other solution could be find out with some manual maintained documents.
For all recommendations and tips we are very interested and we would thank you all very much!

How do we import design objects ?

Hello friends,
I have a s/w component with a namespace in it containing all my Design objects in the Integration repository(Design). There is an option called Export which i assume exports entire namespace along with the design objects within it to a tpz file.
now i want to know is whether i can import this tpz file again into Xi, if yes then how because when i tried importing it (Tools-> Import Design Objects...) , it says No Object Found.
I also want to know is that whether i can import this Namespace on some other XI deployed on some other machine.

Yes, when you say TOOLS --> IMPORT , you should be able to import your exported namespace into the IR. Just make sure, you are giving the correct TPZ file to be imported into XI.

Yes , you surely can and that is the exact reason why the export and import actually exist. One option that is normally used when you want to migrate your objects from Dev to QA to Prod and so on is this import and export.

I am currently taking a Dreamweaver class, online course, and I cannot find CSS Designer panel anywhere.

Number Sequence Generator for Label Design

We're doing a quick run of 400 label concepts for one of our products. Each printed label needs a different Serial, and LOT number. Is there some sort of script in Illustrator that could generate and print these from one individual ai file containing the label design??

Can't get Flash-built Flex container to work at all

Having religiously followed the steps on Serge Jesper's video on creating a Flex container in Flash CS4 using the Flex component kit, I can successfully see my test container in the "Design" view of Flex.
However, an attempt to compile the document gives me this error, which I cannot get past:
ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property mx.managers:ISystemManager::isTopLevelRoot not found on _TestPanel_mx_managers_SystemManager and there is no default value
The Flex project is called "TestPanel", with the main MXML file being TestPanel.mxml
This is making my brain hurt. Has anyone encountered anything similar? Is there an easy explanation. I've followed through the video 3 times step by step but it just will not work.

I thought as much, but for the life of me I can't see where to get it.
I'm using the 3.2.0 SDK for builds.
The instructions online at adobe.com say to download the Flex 3 SDK
and the latest .mxp files will be in /frameworks/flash-integration/
but I can't find that directory either in my official download of the
Flex Builder 3 Professional package OR the Flex SDK open source SDK.
Screenshot below of what I see when looking in "frameworks" - and this
is a download from TODAY! No "flash-integration" folder.

I have sql server 2012 and I am trying to create an SSIS package. It went fine on the first day of installation. But now I am getting the following error when ever I open the SQL Server Data Tools:

Cumulative update package 3 for SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 which contains Microsoft.analysisservices.design.dll. Because the builds are cumulative, each new update release contains all the hotfixes and all the security updates that were included with
the previous SQL Server 2012 update release. We recommend that you consider applying the most recent update release.
If the issue is still existed, please reinstall the
Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2012.

Metadata cannot be edited for In Design file

I have one In Design file where the metadata can not be edited in Bridge. It is the only In Design file with this problem. All others are fine. The file thumbnail shows the In Design logo only, but all other In Design thumbnails show the preview. I can open the file in In Design and modify the File Info, but am unable to view this information in Bridge. What could be the problem with this particular file? Note: The folder containing the In Design files resides on another non-Version Cue server. Thank you.

Unable to import design objects

Hi ,
I am trying to import design objects into XI 3.0 SP 14 which is on Solaris.
When I imported the design objects all the objects were imported successfully for the first time.
Again when I tried to import the objects I am getting an error
"Attempt to deserialize failed You can proceed with the transport though objects with errors will be ignored. This may cause inconsistencies in other objects after import. Do you want to proceed? "
When I click on continue ,I am getting an error
"ERROR : ; nested exception is: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
Can anybody help me to fix this problem

BPEL designer and SOA Suite

I installed the SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0 and installed it on window. I was under the impression that the BPEL designer is a part of the soa suite. But I am not able to find it. Any idea what I missed or how to get the bpel designer.
I just downloaded Jdeveloper but I am not sure if that is sufficient to start using the bpel designer.

Jdeveloper 10.1.2 contains also the BPEL designer. You need this version for the BPEL process manager < 10.1.3
Jdeveloper 10.1.3 contains the ESB designer in addition.

Amp designer midi input

i am having a pain with getting guitar rig to work right, but I don't often have a guitarist at my disposal, so I want to still be able to test out different guitar sounds, etc. can you use amp designer on an insturment track?? I want to play my midi controller thorugh, it, maybe i'll have to route audio from the instrument track to a bus, then have that bus be the input on the audio track that contains the amp designer insert?? Then, if that is what I have to do, what kind of instrument should I put on the original instruemtn track? what would be best for sending a good signal that amp designer will be able to work with.

Well, you would want a sound that's plucked like a guitar... the amps ARE much better in 9 but for me they only approximate a good amp or even a good POD type amplification system.
All guitars basically have a clean output unless they contain internal distortion/delay type circuitry, another sound that might work is a clavinet. None of them will imitate what a guitar is going to sound like though.
The sound really depends on your taste, if you're an old guy like me you grew up with tube amps and the sound of small tube amps all crunchy and jangly can't be found in low voltage circuits.

I've created two classes to interact with each other from a problem in my text book. Here is the problem from the book:
Implement a class Employee. An employee has a name(a string) and a salary (a double). Write a default constructor, a constructor with two parameters(name and a salary), and methods to return the name and salary. Write a small program that test your class.
I'm think the error is probably small, but I'm having trouble identifying it.

Employee rick = new Employee(rick,10000);The error message is telling you exactly what's going yon. You're trying to create a new Employee by passing an Employee and an int to the constructor. Employee does not have a c'tor that takes Employee and int as arguments. So either create such a c'tor, or call one that does exist. (Without looking at your code or what you're trying to do, I'll say that the latter is more likely the correct course.)
Also, you've got a flaw there, in that at the point you say Employee rick, rick does not have a value, but then in the same line, you try to pass rick's value to the c'tor, but rick doesn't have a value yet. You're saying, "here's this new variable rick, give it a value based on it's current, nonexistent value."

Installation problem with Acrobat 9

Hi,
I have successfully installed all programs contained in CS4 Design
Premium (German language version) except for Acrobat 9. At the end of
the installation process a message pops up saying that Acrobat 9 could
not be installed. I tried again but to no avail. I even uninstalled
Acrobat 8 but it did not help either. Adobe support cannot be contacted
on weekends but I urgently need Acrobat 9 to complete a project. Is
there anyone who had the same problem and can give me a hint on what I
should do to be able to install Acrobat 9. I am running Windows XP SP3.
Your help will be greatly apreciated.

I have uninstalled Adobe Reader 9 and all keys of Acrobat in the
registry. This time the installation of Acrobat 9 Pro was successful.
Therefore I presume that Adobe Reader 9 was the cause of the failed
installation.
Perhaps this information will help anybody else having the same problem.
