Implement Outlook iview or Search iview etc...

Hello,
I want to implement a portal page showing different purpose iviews.
I am new to this,so I read some weblogs and search the forum try to get some thread to achieve the goal.But after doing this I still sort of being confused...
I try my best to show my doubt clearly...
The first thing is to install EP60_SP4 & PDK_EP6.0_60_2_2,right???(Does EP60_SP4 sneak preview really take between 4 and 8 hours to install??? Could I instead of EP6.0_60_3???)
Next,should I install Business Package for Portal Development Kit??Any thing else should I install???(like WAS,KM,SQL server...)
Could anybody give me some documents or something let me to study step by step...

Hi Tony,
first, to install a "fresh" portal really takes time, but your advantage will be that you learn how to install a portal, after that you know something others don't
Second, for EP6 SP4, use the PDK for SP3 (60.3), not 60.2.2.
The basis for the portal is SQL Server & WAS; you can install KM or let it out, depending if you want to experiment with it (I suppose to install, because it's really important in my view).

Hi,
So I am having issues with the advanced find feature in Outlook 2010. When I goes to search a shared calender it gives me the "Outlook cannot perform search. Cannot display view." error. It is odd because it only does it with shared calenders
and only when a calender is selected. If I search my inbox it works fine. It also works fine when I first open Outlook and perform a search without selecting any calenders. If I select on it then gives me the error. I have tried resetting the views, I ran
cleanfinders and I went through this page (http://www.msoutlook.info/question/47) and rebuilt the index/scanned the pst/etc. Nothing seems to be working. I would appreciate some help if anyone knows why this would be happening.

Pst file size would not cause this and Outlook 2010 can have huge pst files as long as you use the new Unicode format.
If the problem is a corrupt view, cleanviews will clear it. I'm sure there are other causes besides corrupt views, but I can't think of any at the moment.
Does it work in Safe mode? To open Outlook in Safe mode: Close Outlook then hold Ctrl as you click on the Outlook icon. You'll get a message asking if you want to start in Safe mode. Click Ok.

Outlook's instant search cant find contacts stored in iCloud

I use Outllook 2007 and their instant search feature wont find contacts stored in iCloud. Instant search works well with all other data files except for iCloud's. Can anyone please help me find a way to find contacts stored in iCloud using Outlook's instant search?

How to enable categories in iCloud Outlook contacts and search option to include contacts notes?

So, I've seen various threads about iCloud not supporting categories as we know them in Outlook. Categories are kept in iCloud contacts (in Outlook) but they just don't work as they did when contacts where in Outlook's PST folder. I haven't seen that someone has found a solution to work this out without having to create groups one by one. The other problem though is that when I search iCloud contacts in Outlook, I type in a keyword and the contact with the supposed keyword in its categories does not display if the contact has more than one categories linked to it. Prior to iCloud I was able to pull up contacts by typing in a word in the search bar. For instance, I'd type in a keyword of one my categories and Outlook would display all contacts that contained the word I searched (be it if the contact contained the keyword in its contact fields, categories, or notes). Now, when I search a keyword, iCloud does not pull up the contact(s) with the specific word if the contact has more than one categories linked to it. It also appears that iCloud contacts in Outlook does not search keywords that are in the contacts' notes. Does anyone know how to get these features to work? I basically need iCloud contacts to be able to search contacts along with their categories and their notes and display all contacts that contain the word I typed in the search bar.

Outlook 2013 Advances search only shows cached emails

Hi all,
We have rolled out Outlook 2013 with cache mode on, we have set caching to only one month of data. We are using Outlook 365 as our exchange server.
Quick search works as it should and shows all the results. However, advanced find only shows results from the cached emails. IE nothing older than a month. I have run a re-index etc but still have had no joy. Is there something I am missing?

Lion 10.7 clean install with Outlook 2011 mail search not working

Installed fresh copy of lion on my macbook pro 6,2. Then installed office 2011 and did all the patches. After the macbook pro finished its indexing I started to use my outlook 2011 email and noticed that email search did not work. (Outlook 2011 14.1.2 / Lion 10.7)
I fixed it by forcing another index:
sudo mdutil -E /
sudo mdutil -i on /
Now email search works.

I've had this problem since Tiger. Various solutions have been posted, but none have worked for me. It really cripples Mail--I've used emails as my personal database for years, kind of a history log, which worked great in Eudora but Eudora isn't being supported anymore.
After updating to X.5.5, I can search "entire message" for "All Mailboxes" and find everything including emails in the mailbox I was viewing (often finds 60,000 occurences, but doesn't take very long--it's just incredibly tedious to find the one I want from such an enormous set of results). I can also find everything using Spotlight, outside of Mail. But if I am looking at any mailbox, like Inbox, search "entire message" never finds anything at all. Searching for subjects etc works fine.

Office Outlook 2013 no search results

Installation:
Server 2008 R2 Terminal server
Office Outlook 2013
This is a new server install and happening the same for all 15 users on the server, Admin s and users.
I am unable to display any results when searching mail box. I modified and rebuild the index many times. I have un-selected and re selected files and
added pst files. I am able to start outlook in safe mode and search with no problem. Users are able to search programs and files in windows start menu.

Did you installed any add-ins with your Outlook? Please go to File > Options > Add-ins and disable all add-ins you have installed to check the result.
If the problem would be gone when you disable all add-ins, we can try to enable the add-ins one by one until we find the problematic add-ins.

Outlook 2007 instead search does not show the items which are actually present in the inbox and folders

Scenario:
when user search for any particular email item by using the sender name or subject name it does not show any result. At the same time it works fine when he specify the search folder(target folder) instead of searching it across all the folders/sub-folders.
1. We tried reconfiguring the outlook profile but this not fixed the issue.
2. It is specific to only few users but so far for all the others users it works fine.
3. Restarted the “Microsoft Exchange Indexer Service” but this is also not fixed the issue.
4. Hence the outlook reconfigure not worked, rebuild the search index not tried yet, but will give a try.

Did the user select All Mail Items scope when searching in Outlook?
In addition, please make sure the user is not searching in a shared mailbox because in some configurations, you are limited to using the
Current Folder search scope when searching in a shared mailbox.
Please also let me know the result if you have tried rebuilding index.

How to implement type-ahead for search

I would like to have type-ahead for my endeca. e.g. if user clicks on search box and type"g", it should show all items starts with g.
How can I do that? I have only three dimensions : PRIRCERANGE, category and flex. And I have 3 properties: description, color, price, uom, sku etc.

Endeca exposes webservice that can be accessed by xquery library provided by endeca. You can write your own xquery module to fetch dimension query result, format and use as a output to type-ahead.

Implementing Multilingual Full Text Search

Hi All,
I am working on an application which requires to implement Full Text Search on Documents Uploaded in Binary Format. When I tested it first time with English Language, the search worked. But now the application demands to implement multilingual search on
that column. The document can be in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish or English language and then converted into binary.
When we create index for Full Text, we have to specify one language for that index. We also can't multiple indexes nor we can create multi-language indexes in same column.
Please help me out on how this requirement can be possibly met.
