Implementation for Resultset interface
Hi,
We are developing a JCA adapter where we have to implement the java.sql.ResultSet Interface as per the JDBC 3.0 Spec.I want to know ho the values retrieved from database are stored into the ResultSet by the JDBC Drivers.Can i get a sample source code for this implementation.I am connecting to database with a native C code and the C code is returning the result in a data structure ex Map.I want to set this result in a ResultSet before returning it to the client.
And I have the mySQL JDBC Driver implementation source code with me and as per our requirement its not complete. So anyone can shed som light on this.
regards
K.Sreenivas
know ho the values retrieved from database are stored into the ResultSet by the JDBC DriversHowever you want. All it is an interface, so you can do it however you want.
I don't know of any examples that store it 'in' the ResultSet. They all use the underlying protocol to 'store' it.
You can get the jdbc-odbc bridge source comes with the jdk source (at the JDC site.)
The RmiJdbc proxy comes with source - http://www.objectweb.org/
The freetds driver has source - www.freetds.org

Where are the implementations for some interfaces in the search_sdk.jar?
Hi,
Is the source code for the implementation of some interfaces (DocumentMetadata etc) available to public?
Thanks.

AlwaysthinkSource code is not available. The javadoc is distributed with the installation media. On my machine I can find the javadoc for DocumentMetadata here:

Where is the getString() implementation for RS and Object class question
Dear all,
I had these two questions ringing since a long time.
1)ResultSet is an interface.
In my jdbc code I have generally written rs.getString() and rs.getInt etc.. without giving a second thought as to where exactly is this getter implemented !
I have RTF API .. without too much help.
Could some one kindly explain Where is the implementation of the getString method ?
2) Could you please tell why the Wait() Notify() and NotifyAll methods have been implemented in the Object class ? What was the need to define em in the Object class ?
Thanks in advance for your time spent on this.

A desire to not have to couple your code to a particular database and JDBC driver. It's a classic example of the abstract factory pattern -
Dear PI Experts,
I'm currently working on an integrated solution between TM <=> PI <=>ECC. When I trigger the Shipment creation from TM to ECC, I received an error in the SXMB_MONI of ECC.
In the XML, I figured the error that No Implementing class registered for the Interface TransportationOrderSCMExecutionRequest_In .
May I ask you advices on this issue? Is it a mapping error on ECC or PI Side?
Thanks in advance for you help and advice.

No implementing class registered for the interface (ABAP interface, request
Hi,
Proxy has been generated for the Inbound Message interface and i could see the SXMB_MONI entry in Red on the target system.
I get the error "No implementing class registered for the interface (ABAP interface, request...."

ChaitanyaHi Chaitanya,
Try the below configuration in SXMB_ADM,if you don't have the authorisations to SXMB_MONI ask BASIS guys to do the below activities.
Go to SXMB_ADM.
Execute Integration Engine
EDIT----

select Role of Business System as Integration Server

No implementing class registered for the interface
Hello,
I know that I'm not the first one posting this problem, but I can't find an appropriate solution for my problem. When I execute the FlightSeatAvailabilityCheck scenario I got the following error:
Unable to check flight availability.
Error Type: XI system error
Error Details: No implementing class registered for the interface (type ifmmessif, name FlightSeatAvailabilityQuery_Out, namespace http://sap.com/xi/XI/Demo/Agency )
I have to say that I accidently deleted the proxy but I have recreated and activated the concerning proxy (CO_SXIDAG_FSA_QUERY) and still get the error. I read in this thread: XI 3.0 Demo: Unable to check flight availability: XI System Error that it would help to create a RFC in sm59. Why do I have to do this although I'm using proxies?
And does it make a difference in which client I create and activate the proxies?
Regards
Marci tried following solution also from old messages in SDN -
Go to SXMB_ADM.
Execute Integration Engine
EDIT-> Change Global configuration data
Select the Role of Business System is Integration Server
Again started getting error-PROXY_NOT_ALLOWED_ON_IS:
Proxy calls are not permitted on sender or receiver side on the IS (client)</SAP:Stack>
But again one of the messages in SDN suggests to change Global configuration data,
EDIT-> Change Global configuration data
Select the Role of Business System is Application system.
it seems it's going in loop.... -
Can I assume that Windows will be able to handle my physical interface device if I follow the "Device Class Definition for Physical Interface Devices" specification while writing the firmware?
I'm trying to develop a device which handles rumble output from applications such as games. Applications would include e.g. racing games or simulators. I'm hesitant to just clone Xbox 360 Gamepad or Sidewinder USB reports. I'd like to correctly declare my
device as something on its own while still making use of already implemented OS-specific drivers. The purpose of the mentioned specification is exactly that as far as I can tell. I wasn't able to find concrete information about its level of support though.
The "USB device class drivers included in Windows" page (sorry I'm not allowed to post links yet..) seems to link to WinUSB which I'm not sure what to do with.Thanks for your response. Well if everything was implemented at that time and it's still available it should be fine since the specification document's last version is dated 1999. I was just hoping there would be any form of documentation whether it's
supported and by which degree so I don't go through the trouble of figuring out how the firmware should be written according to the specification just to find out there is no OS driver implementation for it which would render my work more or less useless.
So I suppose I'm forced to go the trial and error path? -
Proxy :No implementing class registered for the interface
<b>Hi
I am executing an Out bound proxy from client 101.
when i execute the proxy, i could see the following error in moni.
error info----
No implementing class registered for the interface (type ifmmessif, name PORequest_Out, namespace http://sap.com/xi/3A4/Purchasing/proxytoRfc)
end of error info----
Any tips fro the experts??
Regards</b>chandra<b></b>Hi Chandra,
You need to activate both the classes and the interfaces.
Try to regenerate and activate once again.

Is there a quick fix option for implementing the unimplemented methods for an interface?
Hi guys,
It's a useful feature and it seems to exist in raw Eclipse. I'm aware of the Source -> Override/Implement methods, but this is clunky when you could hover over an interface and hit Ctrl+1 and auto-implement all methods for that interface (which seems to be pretty much most use cases for me). At the moment the quick-fix only seems to have renaming options. Is there something wrong with my configuration?
If not, is there a way to make feature requests? :-))
Thanks!
JarrodI have safari on my iPone and like it there... thought that I would give it a try. Well, IE just started to slow to a paint drying speed and then wouldn't load anything. Safari was installed but crashed in threee seconds each occuarnce. No reason, no error message.
I downloaded (eventually) Firefox... loaded it, chose my extentions and have never had a problem with it since. I unloaded 5 times (gave up on) Safari, reset IE, reinstalled the extentions for that and now it is working after cleaning all of the files, passwords, forms autocomplete, temp files, etc.
Firefox works and all of my freinds and kids use it. That is why it is so good. Remember, if your car worked like your PC you wold junk it right away. Reliability is not in the MS dictionary. It is something that you have to add via tons of fixes, add-ons and program balancing so that conflicts don't occer. I want my MAC, I want my, I want my MAC... -
Does Sun provide an implementation for the PolicyManager interface (OMG)
I need an interface through which I can set Policies and view the current Policy overrides. Doesn't the Java IDL provide a default implementation for the PolicyManager interface? (on the lines of what is available in VisiBroker and JacORB)
Also want to know the values that need to be set for protocol_type if I need to use IIOP and SSLIIOP profocolsIt also makes a difference whether RMI/IIOP or Java IDL is used. Considering RMI/IIOP, there is still many work to be done. See, for example, bug 6239444, which came up when testing interoperability between Sun's and IBM's ORBs. I was told by experts that this problem came up due to the ambiguity of the RMI/IIOP specification. Java IDL should work better there.
However, the discussion seems to become off-topic :-/, I am not sure that the original question was about interoperability.

How to use Start Task Group for Workflow Interface
Hi all,
anyone who can tell me how to use the Interface IFWFTSKGRP (Start Task Group for Workflow Interface)?
As far as I understood the documentation it can be used to restrict the selection of workflows that can be started in the Generic Object Services. But the question is how to implement it.
Best regards,
Carsten
Edited by: Carsten Drewes on Jun 10, 2009 10:30 AMHi, Carsten,
(probably it's a bit too late to post an answer after 3 years , but I'll post it in case someone else needs it)
You should implement GetTaskGroup method.
The code should return id of the task group (otype TG, mantained in PFTC) that holds the list of workflow definitions.
Here is a sample implementation. It's taken from FORMABSENC business object. It belongs to SAP demo workflow "Notification of Absence". I suppose it should be present in most systems and you can see it in action.
begin_method gettaskgroup changing container.
DATA: taskgroup LIKE rhobjects-object.
*- set task group
taskgroup = 'TG70000023'.
*- set result
swc_set_element container result taskgroup.
end_method. -
When we will go for an abstract class and when we will go for an interface?
it's always some what confusing to choose an abstract class and an interface,can anybody post a suitable answer for this.

Without it, it can't be explained.
More often than not there's no X OR Y anyway.It's fortunate that there are posters here who possess the insight and experience necessary to explain this. The principal differences between an abstract class and an interface are,
1. An abstract class can carry implementation, whereas an interface cannot.
2. An abstract class is singly inherited, wheras an interface is multiply inherited.
So use an abstract class when the implementation it can carry outweights the fact that it cannot be multiply inherited That's the gist of it.
The inheritance relationship where this happens is when the supertype is a general concept of which all potential subtypes are special cases. This is called a specialization (or sometimes a generalization) relationship. For example Apple and Banana are Fruit. Or Car and Bike are Vechicle. The Fruit and Vechicle supertypes are general concepts of which their subtypes are special cases. In this case make Fruit and Vechicle abstract classes because the subtypes will benefit from a shared implementation.
If you don't have a clearcut specialization/generalization relationship make the supertype an interface. An example could be the Comparable supertype. The potential subtypes aren't supposed to be specializations of the Comparable concept, they're suppose to become Comparable (and make this property an integral part of their being). This is not a specialization/generalization relationship. Instead the supertype is intended to add character to the subtypes. The subtypes are unlikely to benefit from an inherited implementation. So make Comparable an interface. -
Configuring Kodo default implementation for field of Collection type
If I am not mistaken default implementation for field of Collection type in
Kodo is
LinkedList based proxy. It would be great if it were possible to configure
Kodo to use a proxy of my choosing
I did some tests and it seems to me that ArrayList is much more efficient
than Linked list (see below)
Is there any specific reason I am not aware of that makes LinkedList better
than array list
In my applications all collections a relatively small (or at least most of
my collections are definitely small)
and since I use Collection interface there is no inserts into middle of my
collections - only appends (which ArrayList handles very well)
So my question is can I make Kodo to use ArrayListProxy for fields of
Collection type
(except of course using ArrayList field instead of Collection which I do not
want to do)
below is some statistics on collection performance (populating and iterating
collections)
the same test against 3 collections implementations (JDK 1.4.1)
Not only ArrayList by far the fastest and memory friendly it also garbage
collected much sooner and better -
I show here max memory consumption and last to would not be garbage
collected till all memory is in use (old generation GC)
and ArrayList seems to be collected by young gen GC because it was collected
very quickly between test cycles why other only when all memory was used
So please make ArrayList your default collection implementation :-)
Small collection size (40)
time(ms) memory(kb)
ArrayList 5,218 62,154
LinkedList 14,125 240,066
HashSet 27,000 311,825
the same but using using random inserts - append(index, object) rather than
append(object):
ArrayList 8937, 53591
LinkedList 15047, 240066
Larger collection size (200)
ArrayList 4860, 47709
LinkedList 18468, 290704
HashSet 34391, 422282
the same but using using random inserts - append(index, object) rather than
append(object):
ArrayList 11844, 47709
LinkedList 25766, 290704You should be able to accomplish this fairly easily by extending
SimpleProxyManager:
http://solarmetric.com/Software/Documentation/2.4.3/docs/javadoc/com/solarmetric/kodo/util/SimpleProxyManager.html
and overriding the appropriate methods (getCollectionCopy and
getCollectionProxy).

Exception "not implemented for class oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CNumberAccessor"
Hello I'm having some troubles dealing with 'java.sql.Date' I'm working with express edition database and I have three classes(different packages)
1.Mapper
2.Objects Class
3.ConsoleTest
I need to get an arraylist of objects, some of which contain dates, but when try to do it I get this exception
"java.sql.SQLException: Invalid column type: getDate not implemented for class oracle.jdbc.driver.T4CNumberAccessor"
Do you have any idea how I can implement the getDate method for this T4CNumberAccessor
Here are the methods that I'm using
1.Mapper
public ArrayList<Object> getAllTaskAuctions(Connection con)
ArrayList<Object> l1 = new ArrayList<Object>();
String SQLString1 = "select * from taskauction natural join tasks";
PreparedStatement statement=null;
try
//=== get taskauctions natural join tasks
statement = con.prepareStatement(SQLString1);
ResultSet rs = statement.executeQuery();
while(rs.next())
l1.add(new TaskAuction(rs.getInt(1), rs.getInt(2), rs.getInt(3),
rs.getDate(4), rs.getDate(5), rs.getInt(6)));
l1.add(new Task(rs.getInt(1), rs.getInt(2), rs.getString(3),
rs.getString(4), rs.getString(5), rs.getString(6), rs.getInt(7)));
catch (Exception exc)
System.out.println("Fail in TaskAuctionMapper - getAllTaskAuctions");
System.out.println(exc);
return l1;
2.ConsoleTest class
Connection con;
public Connection getConnection(){
try{
Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
con = DriverManager.getConnection(
"jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:XE", "Project", "123" );
//username/password@[/]host[:port][service_name]
catch (Exception e)
{ System.out.println("fail in getConnection()");
System.out.println(e); }
return con;
public static void main(String[] args) {
ConsoleTest ct = new ConsoleTest();
TaskAuctionMapper tam1 = new TaskAuctionMapper();
ArrayList<Object> alt1 = tam1.getAllTaskAuctions(ct.getConnection());
Iterator<Object> itr1 = alt1.iterator();
while (itr1.hasNext())
TaskAuction taskauct = (TaskAuction) itr1.next();
//Problem, exception traced to TaskAuctionMapper
System.out.println(
"Task ID: " + taskauct.getTaskid()+ ", "+
"StartDate: "+ taskauct.getStartdate()+", "+
"User ID: " + taskauct.getUserid());
}Found the answer, I shouldn't use integers as parameters of column index in the result set, but instead use String to mark the fields :)
