Implementation road map

can some one pls guide me to an implementation road map for my first SAP FI project. thnx

Hi,
     Normally SAP Projects are Implementation,support and upgradations and rollouts.In Implementation Project most of the companies following ASAP methodology if you follow the sap guide lines they devided  project into 5 phases.1)
Project preparation:Here Project will be Kick Off happen Client management and Project Management and they will do the Planning for whole project
2)Business Blue print:Here we will study the clients Business process and keep on discussing for better understanding of Busines Process.In this phase we will be giving SAP Overview sesssions by each module to Process owners and core team.Core team will prepare the AS-IS document it replica their present business based upon that Consultants will prepare TO-Be document it replicates where its addressing in SAP System.After Taking sign Off from client configuration will start the consultants in Development system.
In this phase consultant will give the on the job training to core team for better understanding of SAP terminology and futures of SAP
3.Realisation:Configuration will be start the consultatns as per the BPD(Business Process document)After completing the configuration in development system they will be transport to Quality system for testing the data once testing is confirm from the consultants,test scrips will be prepared and give its to core team for testing the scenoires.
                       Normally in sap testing are unit testing,system testing,system integration testing,UAT(User Accepting Testing)
4)After completing Testing Phase any final configuration any unsolved issues will be close this phase.In this phase consultans will give the master data templates to core team for uploading of master datas and transaction datas from legacy system to sap system for this we will plan the cut off data.
5)Go Live and suport its the continuous process.

  • What is the road map to start XI

    HI Frnds,
    Me previously worked on Datawarehousing.Datastage(ETL tool).Now I shifted to XI 4months back.In my company they given a warm up training on XI and some basic scenarios.Now they directly kept me at one interface(project).Ok Iam doing good there.
    But what my question is ,what is the actual road map to start the XI like from SLD or Adapter or from Mapping what is the step-by-step learning and what are the essential things I have to know as a SAP XI consultant. And am I want to learn SAP functional to stay at SAP for long run.
    So what are the things I have to learn and what are the essentials to be need to stay in SAP XI space for long run?

    hi,
    <i>But what my question is ,what is the actual road map to start the XI like from SLD or Adapter or from Mapping what is the step-by-step learning and what are the essential things I have to know as a SAP XI consultant</i>
    You need to know all of these to become an XI consultatnt in a true sense.
    If you ask me , the best way would be to begin by understanding XI architecutre, and then moving on to simple FILE to File scenarios, and then a few complicated ones. After getting a grasp of how XI works, maybe you can visit SLD concepts and understand internally what is happening in XI.
    Meanwhile,Following are the links to weblogs which will help to develop the basic scenarios.

  • ESOA Road map

    our's is a chemical/oil company. it's business process IT landscape runs on SAP 60 Percent and other 40 percent on .net, j2ee and other web applications. we have made siginificant amount of investments in their non-sap IT infrastructure like
    their present day-to day HR day to day activities ,ESS and MSS runs on .net applications.
    As part of their streamlining current IT investment our company is preparing a roadmap to adapt ESOA.
    First we have set a road map to upgrade to ECC 6.0 so that we can enjoy the fruits of ESOA and NetWeaver
    next we are thinking to go for Enterprise portal EP 7.0 so that we can integrate our HR process into that
    rather having them on .net applications and maintain single application.
    As a part of our next part in the road map we are trying to implement PI 7.0/PI 7.1 to remove our
    dependency on many Interfaces.
    As a Part of our road map we are trying to go for MDM implementation where in we have duplicate data
    in many legacy systems and sap, so that we can have central master data repository.
    I am unable to understand from the above road map where we discuss ESOA road map, but all the solutions are netWeaver
    Technologies and why does  ESOA come into picture(ESOA stategy Road map ) . next thing in times of this global recession how our company can synergise with new technolgies and cope
    up with ripping  plugging and removing the current investment and infuse new investment with other user licenses which is big burden.
    We are going to acquire some over seas acquistions How ESOA can help us in integrating the acquired company IT landscape into our existing IT landscape?.
    How SAP ESOA can address the problems of Economic Recession and downtrun in companies
    through efficient IT management and setting effective roadmap for IT infrastructure and through ESOA strategy roadmap ?

  • ESS FPM: To achieve a particular Road Map Pattern

    Hi,
    We require to achieve below mentioned functionality for one of the Custom Developed Web Dynpro objects.
    Functionality to be achieved
    Using EP 7.00 feature; wherein Roadmap is designed on EP side using FPM Application and FPM Views and Web Dynpro DC contains only Fc and Vc components (there is no Cc component on WD side); we need to get below road map behavior for the custom developed application u2013
    Custom developed Application has:
    (1) 4 steps - OVERVIEW, EDIT, REVIEW and SAVE, CONFIRMATION.
    (2) Overview screen has got 3 buttons u2013 BTN1, BTN2 and BTN3
    (3) Navigation requirement is u2013 when BTN1 is clicked, control should go to REVIEW and SAVE screen from OVERVIEW screen and then is BACK button is clicked (on Review and Save screen) control should come back to OVERVIEW screen from REVIEW and SAVE screen if BTN1 is clicked.
    If BTN2 or BTN3 is clicked, control should go to EDIT screen from OVERVIEW screen and follow normal path as EDIT à REVIEW and SAVE à CONFIRMATION and the same way if BACK button is clicked on REVIEW and SAVE control should come back to EDIT screen, here again if BACK button is clicked control should go back to OVERVIEW screen.
    So in short it should be u2013
    BTN1 clicked
    OVERVIEW ---> REVIEW and SAVE ---> CONFIRMATION
    OVERVIEW <--(BACK button)--REVIEW and SAVE
    BTN2 or BTN3 clicked
    OVERVIEW ---> EDIT ---> REVIEW and SAVE ---> CONFIRMATION
    OVERVIEW <--(BACK button)EDIT <(BACK button)--REVIEW and SAVE
    All the above behavior should be satisfied using FPM road map.
    Thanks,
    Mahesh.

    I had a similar issue where my authentication was happening in 'login.do'. To solve this issue, In my filter, I checked if the request uri was 'login.do'. I tested it and it works. Hope this helps!
    public class AuthorizationFilter implements Filter {
      private FilterConfig config = null;
      public void init(FilterConfig config) throws ServletException {}
      public void doFilter(ServletRequest servReq, ServletResponse servRes,
              FilterChain chain) throws IOException, ServletException {
          HttpServletRequest httpReq = (HttpServletRequest) servReq;
          if (httpReq.getSession().getAttribute("userinfo") == null) {
               if (httpReq.getRequestURI().endsWith("login.do")) {
                    chain.doFilter(servReq, servRes);
               } else {
                    config.getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/login.jsp").forward(servReq, servRes);

  • Road Map Control

    Hi,
    I need to define RoadMap in my wizard application and don't see enough documentation available. The first question - is there a way to define on step click action, to use RoadMap interactively. For example, click on particular box will change the view by displaying more details about this step.
    Another question how to define RoadMap step dynamically, the number of steps is not fixed, user will be able to add steps, delete, and so on.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi Tatyana,
    > One of the solution I have in mind to provide a

    That's exactly what I have done. Concerning implementation, you can put these buttons in their own view and integrate the view on the main view(s) (so reuse works...).
    > Which is not very beautiful but at least something...
    But this is how most install wizards on windows for example work (at least with the next/previous buttons). So it is at least not that unusual!?
    > Road Map Component in HTMLB
    Within BSP's? (I don't know them.) I'm just estonished as there is no RoadMap element in HMTLB for Java...

  • Difference between ASAP methodology and ASAP Road Map

    hi
    Difference between ASAP methodology and ASAP Road Map
    amk

    ASAP Roadmap
    The ASAP Roadmap provides the methodology for implementing and continuously optimizing your SAP System. It divides the implementation process into five phases and offers detailed Project Plans to assist you (in Microsoft Project format). The documentation stored at each level of the Roadmap tree structure contains recommendations on implementing your SAP System and links to helpful tools and accelerators.
    Check the following link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/48/623972d55a11d2bbf700105a5e5b3c/content.htm
    ASAP Methodology:
    Accelerated SAP Deals with the Implementation Process Cycle in 5 Different Process...!!!
    Project Preparation:
    The first step in ASAP is Project Preparation. In this step the Functional Consultant will analyse the business process and define the system for SAP and will give the time line for the project. The Manpower required and the budgets are also considered in this step.
    Blue Print Preparation:
    This is second step in ASAP Methodology. In this step the Project Preparation scenarios are finalised. A out line of the Project is given in this step.
    Realisation:
    In this step actual development is taken place. The ABAPer is responsible for this step.
    Testing:
    In this step the development done by the abaper is being tested. This is the area where the Unit Test Document is prepared (i.e. Positive Testing and Negative Testing).
    GO live and Support:
    This is the final stage where the project is running in the live environment. In this step the bugs if any that are found in the go live procedure are fixed and the project will be considered as support project.

  • What is Road map Analysis, Issue tracking,, Monitoring, Reporting?

    Hi
    Friends
    what is Road map Analysis, Issue tracking,, Monitoring, Reporting?
    can any one clear my doubts in detail full points will be given

    Dear Venkat,
    Your questions are very high level questions.
    Roadmap Analysis: This term is generally used in SAP Implementation where we compare the project status with the SAP roadmap. Generally in ASAP Roadmap, we have SAP specified standard deliverables, and there can be custom deliverables as per the client's requirements. If we need to do an analysis of custom deliverables viz standard deliverables or standard roadmap viz custom roadmap, we call it as roadmap analysis.
    Issue Tracking: Very broad level term - can be in Implementation as well as support projects. Issues are either support problems or implementation problems which are documented and recorded for solutioning and approval. These are generally steering committee terms used in a project.
    Monitoring: Again a broad level term. Any watch process can be termed as monitoring. Eg: Monitoring of Backup; Monitoring of System health check etc.
    Reporting: Again a broad level term. It is the same as defined in the english dictionary. Nothing related to any process in SAP with technical solution in mind.

  • Doubt in Road Map

    Hi all
    I have one initial screen i.e (Login Screen).  In that screen I have two dropdowns (Employee No., Type) and Two Buttons (Create, Edit)
    When user select Type1,emp.no. and press create button,  screen1 will be opening ,
    When user select Type2,emp.no. and press create button, one screen2 will be opening.
    like that edit also.
    So i need to create 4 screens. Anyone tell how can we do in Roadmap (MultipleRoadMapstep).

    Hi,
    since you are using WD and you have roadmaps, you have to use FPM framework and implement GAF.
    in GAF you will have mainstep. this is your road map.
    since you have three screens. you will have three UIBB's.
    put your interface views in the UIBB's and it will work.
    Regards,
    Ritwik.

  • How to set the color for road map steps

    hi all,
    my requirement is like ,whenever i select my step in a roadmap it has to be set in yellow color and others has to be in default color.
    thanks,
    Siva.

    Hi......
    Its Very Simple......
    Create an action for the road map.
    for example..... if you have three step in it....
    by default the first step will be in active only...
    ie., Yellow colour
    if you click the second step and it should be active means.... if you have to create a event....in the property of the Roadmap
    Create the on action select event....
    in that event.....
    try to use this code.... based on your scenario.....
    set context data
        DATA: road_node TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node,
              road_data TYPE if_componentcontroller=>element_roadmap.
        road_node = wd_context->get_child_node( 'ROADMAP' ).
        road_data-step = step.
        IF step = 'CHOOSE'.
          road_data-prev_enabled = abap_false.
        ELSE.
          road_data-prev_enabled = abap_true.
        ENDIF.
        IF step = 'END'.
          road_data-next_enabled = abap_false.
        ELSE.
          road_data-next_enabled = abap_true.
        ENDIF.
        road_node->set_static_attributes( road_data ).
    navigation
        wd_this->fire_navigate_evt( step ).
    Hope this will help you
