Implementing BADIs CFX_STATUS_TRANS and CFX_STATUS_TRANS_UI

How would I go about implementing BADIs CFX_STATUS_TRANS and CFX_STATUS_TRANS_UI? I have never used a BADI before but I have read documentation on implementing BADIs. One example of such is https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d0456c54-0901-0010-f0b3-cd765fb99702
What would I need to do to use either of these BADIs? Specifially, I will need to
Get Project Details such as Description, Dates, etc and return these to cFolders for population in the Document
Get Project Partner details such as Names, addresses, email addresses etc for selection and population
Is it possible in these BADIs? I was asked to begin with the two BADIs that I listed above but I am unsure how they will help.

Hi Davis,
If you run the transaction SE18 using the Badi you mentioned, click of 'Display', then you will find a button 'Document', which you can find out, which purpose has the involved Badi.

There are two steps in User Exit creation.
1} Identify the User Exit suitable for the requirement and that is available in the system:
Code SE18 is used to Identify the BADI available.
Look for the string 'CL_EXITHANDLER' in the standard program. This is a class which has a method 'GET_INSTANCE' which is used to trigger BADI's from the Standard Program. The interface parameter for this static method 'EXIT_NAME' is used to pass the BADI to the method.
Open Standard Program and do a global search 'CL_EXITHANDLER'.
SE18 > give the BADI name found through above search.
CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA > which has a method SAVE_DATA.
2} Implement the User Exit identified through above process.
T.Code SE19 is used to Implement BADI.
SE19 > give the implementation name > Give the Definition name as CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA and the Short Text.

Business Add-Ins
Business Add-Ins are a new SAP enhancement technique based on ABAP Objects. They can be inserted into the SAP System to accommodate user requirements too specific to be included in the standard delivery. Since specific industries often require special functions, SAP allows you to predefine these points in your software.
As with customer exits (SMOD/CMOD Page 40), two different views are available:
In the definition view, an application programmer predefines exit points in a source that allow specific industry sectors, partners, and customers to attach additional software to standard SAP source code without having to modify the original object.
In the implementation view, the users of Business Add-Ins can customize the logic they need or use a standard logic if one is available.
In contrast to customer exits, Business Add-Ins no longer assume a two-system infrastructure (SAP and customers), but instead allow for multiple levels of software development (by SAP, partners, and customers, and as country versions, industry solutions, and the like). Definitions and implementations of Business Add-Ins can be created at each level within such a system infrastructure.
SAP guarantees the upward compatibility of all Business Add-In interfaces. Release upgrades do not affect enhancement calls from within the standard software nor do they affect the validity of call interfaces. You do not have to register Business Add-Ins in SSCR.
The Business Add-In enhancement technique differentiates between enhancements that can only be implemented once and enhancements that can be used actively by any number of customers at the same time.
In addition, Business Add-Ins can be defined according to filter values. This allows you to control add-in implementation and make it dependent on specific criteria (on a specific Country value, for example). All ABAP sources, screens, GUIs, and table interfaces created using this enhancement technique are defined in a manner that allows customers to include their own enhancements in the standard.
A single Business Add-In contains all of the interfaces necessary to implement a specific task. In Release 4.6A, program and menu enhancements can be made with Business Add-Ins. The actual program code is enhanced using ABAP Objects. In order to better understand the programming techniques behind the Business Add-In enhancement concept, SAP recommends reading the section on ABAP Objects

2) Specify a definition Name : ZBADI_SPFLI
3) Press create
4) Choose the attribute tab. Specify short desc for badi.. and specify the type :
multiple use.
5) Choose the interface tab
6) Specify interface name: ZIF_EX_BADI_SPFLI and save.
7) Dbl clk on interface name to start class builder . specify a method name (name,
level, desc).

Error while implementing BADI ME_GUI_PO_CUST

My requirment is to add a new tab in ME21N screen.We have to implement the BADI ME_GUI_PO_CUST and methods SUBSCRIBE and MAP_DYNPRO_FIELDS will create a new tab.however i have got a problem in method MAP_DYNPRO_FIELDS.
i have defined 2 z fields and i have appended it in EKKo as well.now in method MAP_DYNPRO_FIELDS i have written the code like this...

Then we have to implement one more BADI to display the tab and update the values.
Implement the BADI ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST. This cannot be used multiple times.
In this, we have methods (PROCESS_HEADER,PROCESS_ITEM).if we need to any validations for the fields we can write the logic here in this methods. In my case I need to check for the document type which I implemented in the method (PROCESS_HEADER).

I am implementing a customer subscreen in the PO header. I have created the screen, implemented both Badi's int following way.
Somehow, the customer data is not getting saved. It is not being passed into the Badi's, am not sur what I have missed because I have implemeted it exactly like the example implementation, only the example is for item and I am using a PO Header subscreen. This is what I have done, please suggest.

Help with MIRO Badi's and Translation Date (Exchange Rate Date Reference)

Dear experts
This is a problem I have read a lot about, but none of the answers work properly and I wanted to create a new thread in order to try to compile a final answer for this problem (at least in version 6.0)
As you know Standar SAP uses posting date as translation date in MIRO for foreign currency.
This is not always true (imagine Crude Imports with 3 dates: Invoice date, posting date and Bill of Lading date. The last one happens to be the fiscal date for exchange rate in my county and the other two are also mandatory).
I am proposing thus to use 3 dates: Document date as invoice date; posting date as posting date and Invoice Receipt Date
(REINDAT - RBKP) as Bill of Lading date. I would like to implement this third date as translation date.
Lot of ways to do it, but none works properly as for the end user it is complicated to enter data in a certain way so that BADI's work properly. I have implemented note 574583 and only works with some restrictions.
I have also used some more BADI's like MRM_HEADER_CHECK, FI_TRANS_DATE_DERIVE, INVOICE_UPDATE,... and all of them have some restrictions (depending always in data header taps data introduction or saving the exchange rate properly in MM TABLES but not in FI TABLES).
I would really appreciate if anyone could help with this, ensuring that the Badi get's always the data and makes it work with no screen selection dependance.

I have found the solution with the help of ABAPer. The system has a bug for which SAP has given a Sap Note no 22781.
Actually what happened in the Invoice is, the system by default fetched the exchange rate for the Exchange Rate Type 'M' for the rate last maintained. Since we were using different Exchange rate it did not match. Also we came to know about the difference only because off-late the users had stopped updating Exchange Rate 'M' .
The funny part is in the Invoice if we click on each tab at the header and come back to the first tab where we find the Exchange rate for accounting, the system picks up the actually rate as per the Exchange Rate maintained.

These steps should enable you to find any BADI related to any transaction in a matter of minutes.
Procedure 1:
1) Go to the transaction SE37 to find your function module.
2) Locate the function SXV_GET_CLIF_BY_NAME.
3) Put a breakpoint there.
4) Now open a new session.
5) Go to your transaction. 6) At that time, it will stop this function.
7) Double click on the function field EXIT_NAME.
8) That will give you name of the BADI that is provided in your transaction.
Business Add-Ins
Procedure 2:
1) Goto se24 (Display class cl_exithandler)
2) Double click on the method GET_INSTANCE.
3) Put a break point at Line no.25 (CASE sy-subrc).
4) Now Execute SAP standard transaction
5) Press the required button for which you need to write an exit logic, the execution will stop at the break point.
6) Check the values of variable 'exit_name', it will give you the BADI name called at that time.
7) This way you will find all the BADIs called on click of any button in any transaction

This technology is not limited to SAP applications. BAdI calls can be integrated in customer applications. These can then be enhanced by other customer applications. In the various SAP applications, BAdI calls are implemented at places where enhancements are appropriate.Business add-ins are enhancements to the standard version of the system. They can be inserted into the SAP System to accommodate user requirements too specific to be included in the standard delivery. Since specific industries often require special functions, SAP allows you to predefine these points in your software.
In contrast to customer exits, Business Add-Ins no longer assume a two-level infrastructure (SAP and customer solutions), but instead allow for a multi-level system landscape (SAP, country-specific versions, industry solutions, partner, customer, and so on). You can create definitions and implementations of Business Add-Ins at any level of the system landscape.SAP guarantees the upward compatibility of all Business Add-In interfaces. Release upgrades do not affect enhancement calls from within the standard software nor do they affect the validity of call interfaces. You do not have to register Business Add-Ins in SSCR.
The Business Add-In enhancement technique differentiates between enhancements that can only be implemented once and enhancements that can be used actively by any number of customers at the same time. In addition, Business Add-Ins can be defined according to filter values. This allows you to differentiate between Add-In implementations using the filter Country or other criteria.
The enhancement technique is set up in such a way that it is possible to define interfaces for ABAP soure code, screens, GUI interfaces, and tables. These allow customers to include their own enhancements in the standard. A single Business Add-In contains all of the interfaces necessary to implement a specific task.
BADI is just an object-oriented version of user-exit. Instead of entering program code into some function module (as in customer-exit), you define some class which has to implement predefined methods and those methods are fired at predefined points just like an old user-exit. Some BADI can have multiple independent implementations which is much better for software deployment as several developers can implement the same BADI independently. BADI/UserExists are used to enhance R/3 For customer Needs.
Actually there is no transaction to find when and where the BADI
is called.
1. You can see the BADI description to find why it is called.
2. Once you implemented and activated the BADI, put some break points
in the BADI and see "where else used" option to check in what all
programs this BADI is called. In the ITS debug, when you are doing
the operation what exactly the BADI description tells, it will take
to the break points and you have to do manually debug the whole thing.
I know its bit difficult to do manual debug the whole thing, it
takes lot of time, but you have to be very patience when you are
dealing with BADI's.
Transaction SE18 is the BADI equivalent of transaction SMOD
Transaction SE19 is the BADI equivalent of transaction CMOD .
To find the BADI to be implemented and then implement this via SE19.

Getting Exception when implementing badi 'hrpad00inftydb'

Hi friends..
My need is to update infotype 0207 when ever employee changes address thru ess.
I implemented the badi 'HRPAD00INFTYDB' and inside it called 'HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA'. But its giving the following two exception :
1. Exception 'CX_HRPA_VIOLATED_PRECONDITION' occured in the
procedure "INITIALISE_PS_ADAPTER'.
2. Exception named 'cx_sy_ref_is_initial' occured in the procedure 'HRXSS_PER_CLEANUP'.
I have checked the implementation by running it separately. It is working fine and is updating 0207.
Bt when i do the address change through portal, it is giving the above mentioned exceptions.
Please post a solution, if possible.

Implementing BADI ALM_ME_001_ORDER

I followed the guide for implementing BADI ALM_ME_001_ORDER to get more fields for the ORDER_OPERATION details.
In the MI server, merep_mon says my fields and values are there and enhancement flags, and so as in the device - if I look in start.jsp.
But they are nowhere to be found on the screen. What did I miss?
Here's what I did:
1) added fields in CI_ALM_ME_ORDER_OPERATION structure
2) implemented BADI method MAM30_GETDETAIL
METHOD if_ex_alm_me_001_order~mam30_getdetail .

I need a help.
In this method i have exporting parameter NUMBER_RANGE TYPE INRI-NRRANGENR
so my requirement is just to change this parameter for particular conditon.
Problem is to make condition i need a field SCHEMA

or elset T706S OR T706T...
I need to read that field at runtime somehow, how can i achieve that pls help.

Find out the main program name where the variable HEAD_PERIO-SCHEMA is declared. Then you can use the ABAP call stack method to retrieve the variable like below. This method can only be used to read a variable from ABAP call stack memory, that is the variable should be available in the scope of the program which is present in the run time call stack your BADI gets called in.
DATA: lv_name_xvbak(30) VALUE '(SAPMV45A)VBAK'.
FIELD-SYMBOLS: <xvbak> TYPE vbak.
* Retrieve Sales order details from abap stack
ASSIGN (lv_name_xvbak) TO <xvbak>.
IF sy-subrc NE 0.
EXIT.
ENDIF.
In the above code you can replace SAPMV45A with the main program name where field SCHEMA is available and VBAK with HEAD_PERIO (the structure or internal table where the field you want is available)
For accessing internal tables similarly

Implementing BADI for PO

Dear All,
In the PO creation badi, in create/change/save methods, i need to clear the purchase info record defaulted by SAP.
Also in create method, PO price needs to be defaulted as the same as PR price, if the reference PR is found. User should be able to change this default price and save the PO. Hence, I have to restrict this logic only to create method.
Now i am trying to implement BADI for PO def (ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST) with (impl name: ZMM_POCREATE). For clearing the purchase info record i put the code in 2 different methods
1. PROCESS_ITEM
DATA: ls_mepoitem TYPE mepoitem.
break LAKSHMIS.
Get the PO item Details
ls_mepoitem = im_item->get_data( ).
ls_mepoitem-INFNR = space.
Set the item data
CALL METHOD im_item->set_data
 EXPORTING
 im_data = ls_mepoitem.
2. OPEN
DATA:
ls_header TYPE mepoheader,
ls_mepoitem TYPE mepoitem.
break lakshmis.
CALL METHOD im_header->get_data
 RECEIVING
 re_data = ls_header.
Get the items for the PO using get items method and change the purch info record to SPACE and set the values using SET_DATA on item.
However, in both the cases the value doesnot get changed (as i dont see any changing parameters provided). However the documentation of BADI says that we can change the HEADER as well as ITEM information in this BADI.
Can anyone please suggest, where i am going wrong and what needs to be done in order to achieve the above two requirements.

Pankaj,
You need to create a implementation for the BADI using SE18 transaction. However, before that look at the parameters of the method of the BADI and see if your Custom field has reflected in there or not. Secondly, if it has, then whether you can modify the data or its in importin mode.
If these two conditions are satisfied, then you can implement the method and update the field and it should reflect in the table.
