I think that you have had the answer to your question. I am trying to get people to keep the forum tidy. If you have what you require could you award you points if you want to and mark your question as answered.
This helps everybody as there are at the moment 48 pages of open questions and if people do not close them the forum will grow and then people like me will not go through all of the pages as it takes too long and some people will not get answers to their questions.
    Thank you

  • Implementing portal for SAP Reports

    Dear All,
we have SAP 4.7 E1.1 system. we are thinking to implement the portal with an objective of only allowing the users to access the production reports online.
we have both Stardard reports & Z reports. we are under the impression that we can start using portsl with in a week after installation with little integration and interfacing.
we are not really sure of this. if our purpose served as we thought.
do we need any customization or the development required for the Z Reports.
what would be the implementation effort we have to do for both standard and Z.
    please advise.
    Regards,
    Ramakrishna Reddy

Option1: Change each of your Z reports into a transaction code and then build an iView for the reports and then a role that contains the iViews.
Option 2: Create a role in PFCG which contains the reports. This will build transactions for you. Make a single iView in the portal that launches transaction SMEN. All done.
    Cheers

  • Time frame for SAP implementation query

    Hi guys,
I am a university student and am currently trying to collect some information for my paper on development of ERP systems in industrial companies, particularly SAP. I'm meant to do some field research, but it is proving to be rather difficult, which is why I wanted to ask for some help from people who have experience in the implementation of the SAP system.
What I'm looking for is the time frame that the SAP system takes to integrate into an industrial firm. Also, the scope of integration (ie how many and which modules were added on top of the core SAP system) and the number of users after the full implementation of the system.
I don't need the name of particular companies, as I understand that that may be disclosing too much corporate information, but it would really help me if someone could give me a realistic time frame of the implementation process for SAP.
    Thank you, in advance!
    Anya

    Anya,
    Update to your queries:
size of the company that this SAP implementation took place at:
Answer : In terms of revenue $200 million +
    Interms of employees 6000+
HR module in particular - whether it can be fully implemented separately and how long would it take?
    Answer:
Definately, it can be fully implemeted and other modules may not be used
Time period - 3+ months as Business packages are available in SAP.
    Regards,
    Ganga

Can any one suggest me how to implement Barcode for SAP ITS

This is a pretty complicated question, but I would start by reading the SAP documentation at the site below:

  • How to implement for sap system use HADR

    hi expert ,
i am a newbie to sap basis, we have a requirement that do HA for our sap using HADR,i want know if there are some good sulotion for my scenario。
our scenaro is we have two window 2008 sever host, one host  has a sap system and we want the sap db2 database as a primary, and the other host also has a same the system which is restore from the previous sap system which we implement by system copy using database restore not migration。i want know as our secanrio could i achive SAP application HA by HADR,if we donu2018t have  HA  software  like MSCS。whether we must manual monitor the primary sap   when it stop because any issue like hardware failed and then manual start the other sap system in the other host?
our two sap system have different sap profile beacause the hostname are different.
our aim is when one of our host can't use we can immediate start the other sap system in the other host, the less the change the better the solution .
    is it possible?
    thanx very much,
    best regards.

    hi paul ,
thanx for your information,i have already read the inforamtion about sg247363 once-over and SAMP。 but unfortunately we have a different situation,we only have two windows servers and must installed windows server 2008 OS because some reasons。we also don't have have other host to install sap。as this situation, how could we implement HA beacuse we also don't have shared disk。the window server are isolation。
i  also read some pdf which download from sdn , in the book the HA is  implemneted as the sap application has a separate host and has two host for DB2 database using HADR,the HA is rely the cluster software 。in this situation the sap application also need HA to avoid single point failure。
as the limited i have said above, is it possible to do HA by MSCS ,can any body tell me if the MSCS is free to install in OS windows 2008? if we can't use it  free, have any other solution?in the worst , we must manual monitor the application and when a sap application or database can't work ,we want to restart the other sap which in the other host,we need the database synchronization between two database which using HADR。is it possible ?if it do, whether there are some additional setup for sap application because the two sap application have different sap profile name(a sap is a system copy from the other by database restore)。
        any reply will be appreciated。

  • Implementing SAP GRC CC 5.2 - Help with RTAs for SAP 4.0B & 4.6B Needed

We are in the process of implementing the SAP GRC Compliance Calibrator 5.2 across multiple environments including SAP legacy systems.  Our key issue is that we cannot find any RTAs for SAP 4.0B and 4.6B.
I am positive that someone has done this somewhere out there so I am looking for any information and/or solution that you may have implemented to resolve this.
Would you be kind enough to send the information to me asap.  I can be contacted on my personal email [email protected]
    Many thanks,
    Carlos

    Dear Carlos,
    Available RTAs :
    SAP 4.6B and above
    PeopleTool 8.46
    Oracle eBusiness Suite 11.5.10
    Hyperion HFM 4.1.0
In order for target systems to connect to Compliance Calibrator, each Real Time Agent (RTA) must:
Have an entry in the operating system services file of the NetWeaver server
Server must be restarted before new client entries are registered
Be defined as a Technical Landscape in the System Landscape Directory (SLD)
Have a login account for Compliance Calibrator to use for connection
This account information is used for configuring the Java connections

    Naveen.

  • BW implementation for SAP HCM.

    Dear Experts
I am on a new project where they need to do HR Data Migration from PeopleSoft (Legacy System) into SAP ECC. The Client wants me to implement SAP BW (New Implementation) doing the following Functional Areas for SAP HCM:
    1. Personnel Administration
    2. Learning Solution Online
    3. Occupational Health & Safety
    4. Leave
    5. Time
    6. Allowances
    7. Position Management
    8. Organizational Structures
    9. Delegations
    10. Competencies
    11. Payroll
    12. CATS
    13. Business Intelligence
This is the scope of the project.
They were using just over 600 reports from the Legacy System.
Please let me know how long does it take developing an average of 25 Reports in each of the above mentioned areas (Area-wise) including ETL (Backend) Design in SAP BW? We are also looking at using Business Object Reporting Tools moving forwards.
What is the best order of implementation of above Functional Areas?
I am to start off with a SAP BW Solution Blueprint with As-Is, To-Be (Solution and Approach). Please let me know if there are better ideas.
Your time in very much appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Chandu

    Hi chandra,
You first need to understand the requirement of the business first because if there are 600 reports in legacy system you no need to presume that you need to develop 600 coz of the multidimensional report of BI you can club so many requirements in to one report. And you have to decide, up to what extent the Business content reports would be helpful. If the BC report meets the requirement it is as simple as that to activate and use it. But if the BC report wont meet the business requirement then you need to estimate the efforts to develop. Here you need to keep in mind that the standard extractors would be fine or need to enhance or need to go for Generic extraction. And also the HCM reports are big tricky and lot of data issues would rise. By considering all this you need to plan the days of work to complete all the reports.
I hope you understood what i am trying to explain.
    Thanks,
    RRRR
