Implementing SSO using Microsoft IIS with OBIEE 10.1.3.3.2

We are running OBIEE 10.1.3.3.2 on Windows 2003 server and want to impement Single-Sign-On (SSO) using Microsoft IIS. We set up the SSO according to chapter #8 of the deployment guide but it doesn't work :when opening the web login pages of the OBI application it still ask the user for authentication.
Also, according to the installation guide the SSO feature is deployed when chosing "Advanced installation type" during the installation. This advanced installation type requires the Oracle Application server. We have not installed Oracle Application server in our environment, and we chose "Basic" installation.
Is the SSO functionality available without Oracle Application server? What are the steps to setup SSO in our environment?

Problem about SSO using logon ticket with user mapping

I had done SSO with Portal , BW and R/3 system.
I use logon ticket with user mapping .
When user name is same in Portal as in R/3 system, or user name is same in Portal as in BW , user can access R/3 transactions and BW report without logon.
There are some Portal users name which are different with R/3 user and BW user. And I done the user mapping for these user.
But some user mapping works fine,but most of them can't work,means that most of them need to enter mapped user ID and password.
What's the reason?
When SSO using logon ticket with user mapping, the Portal user which is different with R/3 user and BW user, can they access R/3 transaction iview and BW report iview without logon?

What you have done is correct. But the problem lies here.
Since you are using the same system object for accessing the iview, where the ticket method is set to SAPLOGONTICKET in the user Management property of the system object.
To avoid this create another system object like the previous one but set the logon method to UIDPW and select admin, user from the drop down box. Also create a system alias for this system.
Now create another iview like the previous one but link this iview to the new system. Now do the user mapping for the users which are different in portal compared with R/3. Now you should be able to login without any problems.
Another important point is login to portal with Fully qualified domain name. In the ITS property of the system object also give the FQDN.

I can not use microsoft word with osx lion, why is this and what can I do to use my word software?

I just installed Lion after waiting for a while as I use Office regualarly and was hoping that any bugs had been sorted. I didn't read any recent complaints on these forums....
however, all seems ok apart from, every time I open a Word, it opens up every other word doc i've opened that day. not cool when you've opened around 30 documents in a day!
any ideas or solutions??

Can I use Microsoft Office with Lion?

I am working with someone who has a PC computer using the windows VISTA operating system.
My computer is the original flat panel iMac with MAC OX 10.4.11.
I would like to purchase another MAC but most importantly I need to be able to run Microsoft Office.
Knowledgeable guidance and advice is requested.

Be aware of one issue, if you are using Microsoft Exchange and the version is 2007R1 sp3 or earlier you must use Office 2008 as 2011 only supports R1 sp4 or later.

Filters not getting passed in MDX query while using SAP BW with OBIEE

I've been working on OBIEE with SAP BW as back-end. I've created some reports & those are working fine when there is less amount of data. But when I try to run a report with 3 dimensions & 1 fact it throws an error saying "No more storage space available for extending an internal table". When I checked MDX query, I found that the filters that I had applied to request & also selected from prompts are not getting passed in that query. So, I tried running a simple request using a simple filter in Answers. Although this request returns results but I can't see filter conditions in query. MDX query always show crossjoin but I can't see filter conditions anywhere.
Is it the normal OBIEE behaviour OR am I doing something wrong in there? Can you please help me out with this?

We tried those things. But it is still giving same error.
State: HY00. Code: 10058. [NQODBC][SQL_STATE:HY000][nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. XML/A error returned from the server: Fault code: "XMLAnalysisError.0X80000005". Fault string: "The XML for Analysis provider encountered an error: MDX result contains too many cells (more than 1 million)". (HY000)
The problem here, I think, is the filter parameters are not getting passed in the MDX query. Any idea why would that happen? Is there any setting to do so?

Key swap problem using Microsoft keyboard with my Mac

The keyboard used with my TiBook is an old (circa 1997) ergonomic "Natural Keyboard" made by Microsoft. I'd like to fix the problem of having the "Command" key function swapped with the "Alt" key. Downloading and installing the latest Microsoft keyboard driver for Mac (for OSX 1 thru 4) didn't fix the problem (even though I checked the box to swap the "Command" key (i.e., the Windows key) and ALT key. Is my keyboard just too old?

I cannot use Microsoft Hotmail with Firefox 3.6.24 and Windows 7. I click on an email but nothing happens. I did not have this problem with Windows Vista. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

The Windows 7 is on a new Dell Inspiron desktop. The Windows Vista is on a Dell Studio laptop that I have had for a while. The Hotmail also works fine on the new computer when I use IE9.

Using Javascript libraries with OBIEE 11g

Hi,
I want to use javascript libraries like scriptaculous.js in OBIEE. I placed the libraries in the location {Middleware_Home}\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\web\app\res\b_mozilla. But when I try to use the library I am getting the "Failed to load" error message. Is that the correct location for placing library files?

You need to add the .js file in two locations
1. \MIDDLEWAREHOME\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\web\app\res\b_mozilla
2. \MIDDLEWAREHOME\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\servers\bi_server1\tmp\_WL_user\analytics_11.1.1\7dezjl\war\res\b_mozilla

I have always used microsoft (+everything with them)and am interested in Moqilla/Firefox. Do i need to choose one or the other on my toshiba laptop Satellite? I have windows 7, microsoft 2010. I think something in my IE is corrupted.

Relative Links and Microsoft IIS not working, why?

I've searched high and low for the solution to this problem
and no one seems to give a definite answer.
I have a typical home server set up using Microsoft IIS on
Windows 2000 as a test server for websites.
The typical folder structure of the IIS is Inetpub >
wwwroot > content
Since I am working on multiple websites at a single time I
place my websites as such Inetpub > wwwroot > websiteFolder1
with multiple websites under wwwroot
Now I setup the dreamweaver sites with the root directory as
websiteFolder1 but when I go to use relative links, dreamweaver is
looking at the wwwroot level instead and the relative links won't
work. So incase that seems hard to understand when I have a css
file that is in Inetpub > wwwroot > websiteFolder1 >
library and I want to relatively link to it, dreamweaver is instead
of seeing websiteFolder1 as the main, it is starting with wwwroot
and that makes the file not found.
How do I get the relative links to see the folder under
wwwroot as the root directory instead of wwwroot?

Microsoft Access with Unicode

Hi,
I recently upgraded my website from CF5 to CF9 running on a virtual server. Below are the specs.
CF Version: 9,0,0,251028
Edition: Enterprise
Operating System: Windows Server 2008
My old code worked fine except that certain queries were running slow. My hosting provider suggested that I change the driver from "Microsoft Access" to "Microsoft Access with Unicode." As suggested, it did make things much faster. However, there were some pages on my site that didn't work. I did some research and found I had used two "reserved" words for table names that caused the pages to fail when using "Microsoft Access with Unicode" as the driver. Oddly enough, the pages worked fine with the regular "Microsoft Access" driver.
I am now down to just one error left that I cannot resolve. I get the following error ONLY when using the "Microsoft Access with Unicode" driver.
Error Executing Database Query.
Query Of Queries runtime error.
The select column reference [GetList.ItemNo] is not found in table [GetList].
This is the code it is referring to.
