Implimenting new application patch

Dear All,

We have following setup
SAP ECC 6, Database : Oracle 10g, O/S : HP-UX 11.31
Our application patch level is 14 i.e. SAP_APPL 600 SAPKH60014.
Now patch 15 is also available.
I am new to SAP, whether we have to go for patch 15. There are certain statutory requirements which are included in patch 15.
Will it create any problem in present setup ?
What are the precautions we have to take before implementing application patch ?
Someone has told me that you have to study all notes included in patch 15 relevant to your setup.
So we have to implement patch 15 on TEST MACHINE and we have to check all existing relevant scenario which is working fine.
If this is the case then it takes lots of time of all the team members.
Request you all to please guide us for the same.

Hi,
As you are support pack Sap Appl 14 and you want to go on the SAP APPL 15. So you need to first check that all patches you need to upgrade before applying SAP APPL.
So to implement SAP APPL 15 you have to first import Support Pack SAPKH60014 and SAPKW70020 .When you check you shall find that the two support Pack prequest that i have told also have some prequsit.So you shall have to update the other components also.
As i checked in the service Market place found that we dont have any other patch after SAP APPL15 so as per my think you shall wait for one more release of SAP APPL and then apply this Sap APPL 15.
When you apply A suport pack then it may be possible that some functionality thet was working fine may stop so we need to test all the cenario in the Sandbox system and then implement the support pack in the Production Landscape.

Hi,
I am applying application patch SAPKH47029 in my system.
I need some clarifications before confirming adjustments.
1) In the spau tcode, its showing few note numbers with status "can't be implemented" few note numbers with "completely implemented" why its showing like this ?
2) In the spau tcode, its showing some transport requests which are transported to this system under the programs and function groups. why its showing those transport requests?
3) If i confirm adjustments, it will overwrite some objects which are already customized. to prevent this overwriting while applying this application patch, what can i do ?
4) In the modification adjustment help, i am getting the following instructions
   Ask the developers to adjust the modifications for their objects.After the adjustment is completed, the
      developers must release their tasks and inform you. Modifications can be adjusted in any client.
     but i am not getting how they will do the modifications for their objects ?

Before performing the sp's you need to check your SPAU and see what are all the objects lying there for example some notes or fixes for the DD objects or Applications which were not supported with your present sp level so when you go for next level of sp this all modifications or fixes wud/might be bundled together in the next release odf sp so you need to ask the dev team to check for that and ask them to create a new transport request under which they can make or store the changes they want in SPAU once you are done with ur sp's then you need to adjust the SPAU with the help of a developer.

R12 Applications Patch

Hi,
I need clarifications about R12 applied patches,
we are in multi node, 1 node for applications and 1 node for database.
we have successfully migrate R12 application to the new target server but since the new target server isn't fully ready we hold the sync process of the database to new applications system.
while we are on hold the source application are being patched for several times.
so what i would like to asks could we also apply the same patch to the target application which is using the same databases ?

Issue while creating a new application in Hypeiron Planning

Hi,
When I am trying to create a new application in Hyperion Planning - the below log is coming...
Planning server started fine in 4328 ms ( as shown in the below log) but once I click the finish button to create the new application its then I am facing with the issue and the same error is repeating in the Planning server..
but I could see the new application in EAS console - but when I cannot see the application in workspace or planning web..
When I restart the planning server - the same error is repeating - but when I delete the application from EAS and then RECONFIGURE Planning(database, instance and datasouce of planning )in shared services and restart the planning server the error is going of (most probably because all the old tables are being dropped in the database)
Please help me resolve the issue.

the error I am getting in appwizard - "error occured while creating application - please check the log"
and if I am using the same schema - i.e. same userid and database for both planning system and planning application I was getting the previous error

I'm a newbie in FDM. I'm accessing Workbench Client from my local machine(Windows XP). When I choose to create a new application it is giving this error: "-2147220992- Error in EnumProjects"(clsAppMgr.mDisplayNewApp).

Hello,
As it appears you have multiple issues (Workbench Win32 issues, IIS issues, SharedServices issues, etc.) I would suggest you create an SR to have someone from support help you from a complete perspective. Issues that spread out of more than 'one single issue' are hard to diagnose via the forums and do not offer a speedy response as we can not see anything about your environment.
Keep in mind Support sometimes can not fix your "environment" but only point out what was done wrong during the installation/implementation. It is at that point your priority to work internally to find the resources to address the issues.

hello, it sounds like the library is damaged.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Not sure, if OAF forum is the right one to ask this question, but as we have been customizing EBS only using OAF, asking it here.
Are there any guidelines in deciding whether to create a new application or not during EBS customization. I mean, even if you add
a new custom table to EBS we generally create a new schema and create it there, similarly how do we decide whether we should
be creating a new application or not for the customizations.

If you are writing custom code from scratch, it is recommended that it be registered to a custom application. If you are only doing personalizations, then a custom application is not necessary

How to create a new application in APEX based on a VIEW

Hi all
I am a newbie to this tool. I am trying to create a new application with the wizard and choosing a repor/form. I want to use a VIEW and not a table to base the applications on but do not see the view in the drop down list to choose it. In the screen itself the definition of a Report and Form page says a user can update a table or view. Yet I do not see a way to choose the view.
Can someone make a suggestion on how to choose a view to base an application?

Is your view in a different schema than the one the tables are in? If so, you need to grant permission on the view to the Parsing Schema defined for that application (go into Shared Components > Definition to see what the parsing schema is). Then you should be able to see the view in the dropdown.

After doing snapshot my application was created and even in fdm also i found error while creating application(hint:cache not found) but now everything is fine don't know what exactly the error may be but now i am facing 404 error while doing Assign Access control in shared services console what may be the reason did anyone experienced this error if so please provide me the solution.

In a new Application, the ApplicationResources_en.properties file is not having the constraint messages created

Hi Everyone:
          We are using JDev 11.1.2 and JHeadstart 11.1.2. We have been having a multitude of problems when running applications through the migrator (and we have now been told by an Oracle consultant that the migrator is problematic), so we are trying to re-write things from scratch to bring them over from 11.1.1.4 to 11.1.2.
          I have been working on a simple application from scratch and discovered that the messages for constraints on the entities that I am using are not showing up in the ApplicationResources_en.properties.file. We noticed a similar thing with converting an application using the migrator and that post is found here - java.lang.NullPointerException ADF_FACES-60097 message ***WITH SOLUTION*** -.
          However, I didn't get a single reply to that thread.
          I initially thought it was a migration issue, but this application is from scratch. Whenever I tried to input an invalid value into a page column, the following exception would be received.
"java.lang.NullPointerException ADF_FACES-60097:For more information, please see the server's error log for an entry beginning with: ADF_FACES-60096:Server Exception during PPR, #"
           This Null Pointer turned out to be the missing message from the ApplicationResources_en.properties file. In the new application I just wrote, I had to manually edit to add the following lines to the ApplicationResources_en.properties file and the application no longer gives me the error if I input an invalid value.

Hi Everyone:
           I have done some further testing. We are using a re-usable Business Components .jar file to access our entities. We import the .jar file into the project and create the ViewObjects and ViewLinks from that .jar file.
            It APPEARS that a test case using the HRSchema and using the Entities & Associates generates the constraint error messages, but when I use the .jar file of re-usable business components imported into the project, those constraint error messages are not created in the ApplicationResources_en.properties file. I have created two testcases as well as the re-usable .jar file that I can send to you to show what I mean.
            This behaviour seems to have shown up in 11.1.2 as there was no problem before this.
             Please let me know where you'd like me to upload the testcases.

i recently installed hyperion system 9.3 and created a new application.
