Implminting ZFH have few questions.

I have few questions about ZFH setup.
Does the proxy server need to be out side the firewall? Or can it go
in the
DMZ zone? Does it have to be a windows box or can it be a Lunix box?

You can have the proxy either inside or outside your firewall. Where
you place it I suppose, depends on where the majority of your handhelds
will be connecting from (I'm assuming at least some will be connecting from
the internet via IP?)
If the proxy is outside the firewall, you would have to open port
2398, which is the default port for communication between the server and
proxy. If the Proxy is inside the firewall, you would have to open port 2400,
which is the default port for communication between the handheld IP
client and the proxy. Both of these port settings are configurable
The proxy must run on a Windows machine.

    With the New Expert or the Valet Series Router, you still can use the Print Server / Bridge and Access Points.
    Well with the Expert and Valet Series router, you have an option to User Cisco Connect Software or you can User Web Interface of the Router. But with the Cisco Connect Software you have an Advantage of creating a Guest Account and using Parental Control , which is not available using the Web Interface.
    These both the routers are backward compatible and they can connect to your G Series Product.

    In order understand these questions u should be clear with BW star schema
    1.We store characteristics in master data tables
    2.for earch and every dimid system will generate a sid in the sid table which is uniquely identified by system through this sid concept it links up dimid with master data table.
    3.yes it is possible to have characteristics with no master data.(EG line item dimension)
    4.dimension attribute is nothing but the characteristics infoobject,
    but i am not sure about described attribute as i've not heard of it.

  • Few questions on Report programming

    Hi guys,
    I have few questions on report programming.
    1. What is the purpose of the statement REPORT zxxx. Even if i gave a name other than my report name i don't find any difference in syntax check/Functionality.
    2. What is the purpose of list headings in report program? This option will come along with the text elements and selection texts.
    3. What is the purpose of logical data base. Even if it is efficient why don't we use it frequently in our reports? Is there any limitations?

    1. As u told that you dint get any syntax errors even after changing the Report Name,there are chances of getting Runtime errors.
    2. The usage of List Headings is when you create a list in a program, you can also create your own list and column headings.

    3. The Limitation of LDB  is the usage of GET statements which act similar to SELECT - ENDSELECT And also if you dont choose the proper LDB,a  single LDB may contain data retrieval from so many tables ,that it would make the entire process very slow and it is very hard to find LDBs for other modules than HR.
    Only in HR module the data is organized in such a way thatusing LDBs would be much simpler.

    I have few questions on EB-SUS scenario which you may help with your expertise. It will be helpful for those who are new to scenario?
    1. EB (enterpise Buyer or SRM) -SUS scenario is used for requesting external staff? can it be used for non stock or free text items in extended classic? does it support direct material procurement ?
    2. Does EB-SUS or SRM-sus support service item with hierarchy like MM-SUS?
    3. EB-SUS scenario is basically on extended classic or standalone scenario? But, in extended classic scenario, it does support only Purchase order and PO response scenario? What badi's or customization is required to enable the confirmation and invoice for extended scenarios?

    I have few questions on EP implementation:
    1) Can SAP r/3 transaction screen be accessed(say creating a PO using T-code ME21) from a company's subsidiary which is in a remote place(assume r/3 is intalled and running at headquarters).
    2) Do we need to have Portal installation at the remote location aswell or just the internet connection with the URL to access the page and needed logon credentials?

  • Few questions about Satellite A300D-14P functionality

    I have model Satellite A300D-14P for one month. Warranty 2 yrs. I have few questions, and asking for help, and suggestions what I should do?
    *My camera quality * is VERY poor, Only with very much light on, I can get generally ok picture quality. Indoor, beside turned on both options, night mode or backlight compensation I hardly can see my face, very dark and poor quality. Second problem is blue led light, it is annoying because half of picture is always blue, somehow that light taking half picture which is always blue:((( I used notebook model from L300 series ( cheaper than mine) with same camera and that blue light, it is working perfectly :(
    *Battery life and start up Vista OS*? ??In power save mode hardly 1.5h ??? Just surfing and nothing else....I asked Toshiba support here in Serbia about that and they told me that it is normal, and measuring of battery life (2, ...h) by specifications, is when my display is off and computer don't do anything ??? They also told me that normal start up time for Vista OS is around 1.45min maybe more???
    If I install win XP is it possible to get battery life longer?
    Do I need to go in Toshiba service or what?

    I don't know where to start. ;).
    I have Satellite A300-1LI in front of me and I use it about a month now. Start-up time is very interesting theme and with right configuration you can optimise it and make it much shorter as with factory setting.     Do the same with your Satellite and I hope you will be satisfied.
    Battery running time? I must say that information about two hours is realistic and I can confirm it. The same on my Satellite. But to be honest for mobile computing it is OK. I have changed several notebooks and just business notebook Tecra has had linger battery running time. What you can do is to check Toshiba support site and pick up info about more powerful battery. I am not sure but you can use Battery Pack (Li-Ion, 9 Cell, 6000mAh).
    About cam I cannot say much. On my Satellite it works OK and I am satisfied. OK the quality is not the same like on good external webcams but for integrated cam it is OK.
    If you are not satisfied try to talk with nearest service or try to compare it with some other Satellite by your local dealer.

    I have few questions about Calendar class:
    1. How can I get only date representation (without the time)?
    after doing:
    Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance();
    I tried to clear unecessary fields:
    cal.clear(Calendar.SECOND);
    cal.clear(Calendar.MINUTE);
    cal.clear(Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY);
    But after printing the time, it seems that the HOUR was not cleared:
    SimpleDateFormat sdf1 = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyyy HH:mm:ss");
    System.out.println(sdf1.format(cal.getTime()));
    ---> 03/11/2004 17:00:00
    Am I missing somthing?
    2. I want to make sure that two different formats couldn't be compared. i.e., if I'll try to parse one String according to different format -- ParseException will be thrown.
    String date = "19/04/2004 13:06:10";
    SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("dd/MM/yyyy");
    Date dateObj = sdf.parse(date);
    However, even though that formats are different, no exception is thrown and the return Date is 19/04/2004 00:00:00.
    How can I cause to exception to be thrown if formats are not identical?

    The Calendar class has a few of what Microsoft would call 'features'. :^)
    To clear the time, call:
    calendar.set(calendar.get(Calendar.YEAR), calendar.get(Calendar.MONTH), calendar.get(Calendar.DAY), 0, 0, 0);
    If you want 'pessimistic' rather than 'optimistic' date parsing, you have two options:
    1) Call calendar.setLenient(false);
    See if that is strict enough for your needs, otherwise:
    2) Write code to ensure a stricter parsing of the string passed in. For example, you could very simply check the length of the string to determine if time data is also present.
    When parsing, a string like '02/29/02' would parse to the date '03/01/02'. Setting lenient to false may fix this, but the surest way is to do some testing and then make the parsing more pessimistic where it suits your needs.

    You MUST be talking about the Properties panel, where adjustment layer info is shown, because the dialogs you get when you do things like Image - Adjust - Levels or Image - Adjust - Curves is not resizeable in any way I can see.  At least not on a PC.
    No, there's no special option that allows dialog sizes to be saved separately.  It's just one panel, and the size of the panel itself defines the size of the contents up to each of their max sizes.

    2.I think we need to create tablespaces ,do we need to create users as well

    4.How come we get consistent export
    In DBUA mode ( in the same machine only)
    1.Do we need shutdown / startup restrict the database
    2.How can we move the files to the new location
    3.Can we change db_name of the database
    4.Can we use the old database as well
    In manual upgration using catupgrd scripts
    1.Can we rename the db_name
    2.can we use old database as well
    3.how to move the database files to the new location
    4.can we perform this kind of upgrade on a different server
    5.when we startup upgrade in the new home ,how it identifies the old database in-order to upgrade the old one

    The check for SSO exists inside the std function module HR_HCP_DETAIL_START via the following Method Call
        CALL METHOD viewer->enable_sapsso EXPORTING enabled = 'X' EXCEPTIONS OTHERS = 99.
    You may have to copy the TCode & the subesequent function calls to eliminate this check.. I would suggest getting your BASIS to set up the SSO as a better option.

  • KDE4 + wallpaper slideshow: few questions about performance / tuning.

    Hello,
    I am using KDE 4.4 from pacman and set my desktop activity to slideshow. I would like to customize few things and thus - I have few questions:
    1) Is it possible to change / disable transition effect when changing wallpapers? All my desktop is choppy and not responsive while the wallpaper changes and I am wondering if there is a way to repair this? (all images used as walls are at max 3MB big, usually something about 1MB. I have 7200 RPM disk, 2GB of ram and rather fast graphics card with newest Nvidia drivers, so I don't know what is the cause of slowdown...)
    2) How can I programatically progress wallpaper to next image (not with the right click / Next Wallpaper image)?
    3) Is there a way to disable the wallpaper change while there is a fullscreen application running? I am asking this, because when I watch HD movies and the wall changes, movie playback is really choppy... (I think that answer to the first question will also help me in this case).
    I would be glad for any sugestions / interest in helping me;)

    1/ There's no way I know to remove the transition. Using the "raster" graphics engine helps a lot on performance : kill plasma-desktop and launch  `plasma-desktop -graphicssystem raster`

  • 3 Tier implementation-Few questions

    Guys,
    We have 3 tire environment i.e source systems will send files into stage database in separate server and target warehouse database in other server.
    When we get the files into shared directory in stage server we need to load them by using external tables in stage area and load them into load tables in main target data warehouse and then integrate into star schema.
    In the stage database we are having master repository and work repository and ODI_TEMP Schema.
    I have few questions here :-
    1)where to install agent?Is it on stage server?
    2)What KM's i have to use?Is it DBLINK related KM's? If dblink KM's
    what privileges in need and where? and what temp objects it will create where?
    or if any other KM's i can use to move the data from external tables in stage database into load tables in datawarehouse like LKM's or IKM's as both the databases are ORACLE databases?
    Do you they will work without db link km's?
    3)and where the temp objects will be created?
    Can you please clarify above mentioned things.

    Let me start with temporary objects--wherever is your work schema is specified in the topology manager..your temporary objects are created. Knowledge modules..depending upon what type of load you want..control append for just insert/truncate insert
    incremental update for merge/update insert....and SCD for slowly changing dimensions.
    Priveleges..you need to create/insert/delete on the staging server...
    or if any other KM's i can use to move the data from external tables in stage database into load tables in datawarehouse like LKM's or IKM's as both the databases are ORACLE databases?

    yes they can..you need to create connections in the topology manager and create corresponding models.
    3)and where the temp objects will be created?
    Let me start with temporary objects--wherever is your work schema is specified in the topology manager..your temporary objects are created.

    After the latest update I decided to jump to systemd completely, and have few questions.
    - I used a static IP address set-up within rc.cong previously and wish to carry on, but the wiki regarding the network and systemd isn't very clear - could anyone point me to the right information?
    - I have removed all my daemon from rc.conf at the exception of "xinetd"  simply because I cannot find the name of the service to be enable.
    - I am running squid on the computer and after checking the booting time it seems to take forever - is there a way to load service in the background like "@" previously or checking which order those service are starting (I have the feeling squid is trying to load before the network has started)
    - Is there a way to use systemd to start application at boot time, like pyLoad (download manager)?

    If I recall correctly, networking in rc.conf is deprecated. You should switch to netcfg.

    What daemons did you have running before? Also, a "pacman -Ql <package> | grep service$" should list all service files belonging to a package. A common gotcha: There's not explicit dbus service file, dbus is at the heart of systemd and gets started automatically.

    Systemd is, by default, "aggressively parallelized". The service file shipped with squid starts as soon as the network is available (due to the line "After=network.target"). You might want to read up on service files and targets (man systemd.service/systemd.unit/systemd.target) if you want to customize that.
    Is there a way to use systemd to start application at boot time, like pyLoad (download manager)?
    If you want to run pyLoad as its own user, just enable the service file shipped with it:
    # systemctl enable pyload.service
    If you want it to run at the start of your own user session, I'm afraid you'll have to wait a while—systemd for the user session is not yet ready for prime time.
