Import Batch Capture List from Vegas?

I was given a Batch Capture List file created in Vegas with an *.sfvidcap extension. Can this be imported into CS3?

Well, I've been manually entering data all day & the job is almost finished.

Batch Capture Lists Using Numbers

Has anyone been able to use Numbers to create a batch capture list for Final Cut Pro? I was able to do this all the time with Excel, just export as a tab-delimited file, then import that file into FCP. It's an easy way to log footage to perform a batch capture later on. Numbers won't export as a tab-delimited file. And I've tried exporting as a csv, but FCP doesn't recognize that file type. I love the simplicity and interface of the iWork suite much better than Office, I don't want to reinstall Excel just to use it for that one purpose.

No can do!
Just hit this problem myself, today. Numbers does not have a tab-delimited output format option. I suggest we make an enhance request to Apple, against Numbers, for this obvious omission.
So, anyway, it is easy to post-process a CSV file into a tab-delimited file. It is just an extra step
Aside from using the "Find And Replace" functionality within a text editor, this can be readily accomplished on a terminal command line, for those comfy in that environment:
cat LOGFILE.csv | sed 's/,/<tab>/g' > LOGFILE.txt
Where I put "<tab" above, type a tab character instead.

If I understand well you wish to extract the contents of a group of cells as a TAB delimited file.
An easy way would be
select the block of cells
Copy to clipboard (cmd + c)
Create a blank Pages document
Paste (cmd + v)
Export the document as text file.
You may also use this script which is really easy to use.
Paste the script in a blank window of Script Editor
Save it as an application named cells2TSV.app
Move the newly created application into the folder:
<startup Volume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Scripts:Applications
Now, enter your Numbers Table.
Select the range of cells which you want to export
Copy to the clipboard
Now, go to
menu Scripts > cells2TSV
You will get on the desktop a Tab Separated Values file named:
-- (SCRIPT cells2TSV.app]
property nomDuRapport : "wasCellsnowTSV.txt"
set rapport to the clipboard as Unicode text
set p2d to path to desktop

Oscar, keep in mind that my suggestion could not be the best one.
I have a copy of Nokia suite on my Windows XP partition on my Mac, just to test it.
The second icon on the upper row explains as a syncronisation with Outlook.
Try to do it and later you should use the iClod manager from Apple and Sync Outlook to ìiClod and to any iPhone iPod and so on.

Batch capture list feedback

Hello to all!
I have just logged a bunch of clips and wanted to start batch capturing. So I get the batch list window telling me which tapes to insert.
It works, but when the tape is done the entry in the list still tells me that it is still ready (queued) for capturing. It will be confusing not to know which tapes I already captured...
I remember older FCP versions that showed which tapes are already finished. Is there a way to get a feedback?
Sorry I do not know the exact ENGLISH words that appear in the window, cause I am using a german version...

Hi, I already discovered this phenomenon! It happens when i use Blackmagic 8-Bit. When i use Blackmagic-DV everything is ok. The Tape-List shows for finished "Tapes to Capture" the correct entry: FERTIG (FINISHED).

Batch capture clips from existing file?

Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out if there's an easy way to capture a bunch of clips from an existing video file on my computer (.mov, .avi, etc). Or to put it another way, I want to automatically extract specific short clips out of a larger video file using a list of timecodes. Is this something I can do with FCE HD, or a free program?

Quicktime Pro lets you trim and save the trimmed clip by time, but not by timecode. Just move the in and out sliders on the timeline to the place you want to start and stop, then Save as ...
You can achieve the end result easier & quicker by importing the source clip into FCE and using the VIewer to set IN and OUT points for the various segments you want to use. It's quicker than using QT Pro because you can do all the work in FCE and avoid having to name & save each and every little clip you would create in QT Pro, and then have to import them all into FCE. Doing it in FCE also saves the disk space that the QT Pro clips would take up.
Also, FCE supports timecode directly, with one little gotcha. In FCE, the starting timecode of source media clips is defaulted to 00:00:00;00 and this may not be the actual starting timecode that was recorded by the camera. (It's a limitation in FCE.) If the starting timecode in the camera was something other than 00:00:00;00 you could use a timecode calculator to recalculate the timecode positions your friend supplied. (Google "timecode calculator" and you will find various free & paid calculators. I'd look for one based on Excel so you could copy/paste all the original timecodes and recalculate all at once.) The Timecode Log Spreadsheet from Ken Stone's website would probably do the trick.

What I'm trying to do is to create a new Project from the scratch, update the Issues List, not deleting or modifying columns, just creating new columns in order to match the names he (the Project Manager) put in his Issues List, then Export the list to Excel,
and then create a datasheet view matching the Exported list, but here I don't know how to import the list (copy / paste or whatsoever it can be done...)
Do you know how to do it, or do you know another/any method to solve this problem?

Hi José,
2 considerations:
The first one is that (as you experienced) one should not delete or rename any of the predefined columns in the risk/issue list. What you did is the right way, meaning keeping the native column as is and creating new ones based on the business needs. Finally
you just need to create view with the appropriate fields.
Then for importing risks from an Excel list, I can't test it right now, but you should have a datagrid view (MS Access type) allowing you pasting data from Excel.

How to import an adress list from NeoOffice (or Excel) to Adress Book

I have compiled an adress list using the spread sheet in NeoOffice (the Open Office port). I can export the list as text, but I can't make the text import in Adress Book work at all. This seems to be a bug in Adress Book?

Still does not import. Address Book opens the text file ok in both formats. Be sure to convert to text in the format-menu in TextEdit before you save.
Address Book shows the data in the file in the import dialog, but does not import it. It seems to semi hang. I can browse the data, but the OK (to import) button does not work. I can only cancel the operation.
