Import Business packages

Hi, I already import a business pacagkes into EP 6.0 . But Idont know how I can to modify the webdynpros inside each eview of the BP. Anybody knows ?

Hi Cesar,
It will depend on the BP's you are using. If they are SAP BP's that include Web Dynpros you will need to setup NWDS (developer studio) and NWDI (development infrastruture) - get the source from SAP (SCA files I believe) - upload into a new Track in NWDI and make your changes there. This will ensure that your changes will be protected during upgrades.

Import business packages into the Websphere portal

Hi All,
Is there any way to import business packages into the Websphere portal. We are looking to display E Recruitment applications in Websphere Portal.Please let me know the procedure.

If it is OK to open the e-recruitment app into a new window from Websphere portal, simply link to it and host it in SAP Portal.
If you can work out the single sign on, perhaps Websphere portal would let you use a portlet like an iframe that lets you display the SAP functionality hosted in SAP Portal. That way it looks like one interface to the end user but back end is hosted separately.
The most streamlined but also more work, would probably be to have a SOA aware Websphere developer create the front end in IBM that references SAP's remote enabled functions.
I'm not aware of any automatic way to simply import / host the SAP business packages inside Websphere, if that is what you are asking.

I could not able to see Imported Business Package

I am using Standard Business Package for SAP CRM4.0 60.2.3; it is stored in PCD -> Migrated Content
I customized the Business Package and stored the content in my folder and transported the Business Package to Local (on Desktop) and Server (in server: C:\usr\sap\J2E\SYS\global\pcd\Export).
I did not deleted the Standard BP from PCD/Migrated Content
After importing the Customized Business Package from local system i could not able to see the Business Package in PCD.
I could not able to see the Customized BP in PCD.. , Whether that Standard BP should be deleted before Importing
What is the Default location it stores after importing?
Plz help me to solve this issue its very urgent.

For Example In CRM BP there are set of Roles in that i took only Lead Manager Role and Stored that in my folder xyz as Deltalink and i also copied dependent object pertaining to that Role as Delta link.
In Transport Package i added all the dependent object and aswell the Role of Lead Management to that Package.
Before Exporting the Transport Package there is a option called (Include all objects on which the exported objects depend) i checked this option and Id of dependent objects i mensioned as ex: com.xyz
After doing this i transported my BP

Hi,
The syntax of the created SDA may be wrong
Check the main attributes defined in SAP_MANIFEST.MF are equal or not to their corresponding componentelement entry.
SAP_MANIFEST.MF file is located in META-INF subfolder in the .sda file.
The values of "keycounter" and "counter" should be the same. Also the values of "keyname" and "name" should be identical.

I am not able to locate imported business package

Hi,
I have created few roles, worksets and iView for my applilcation. Then created one business package using export option. I can see .epa file in the export folder.
Now I have to test this package before sending to other teams. I could not locate the package even after importing it.
How should I import and test this package....
Also should I sent par files used to create iView and system along with the business package to the other team. I have created one iView using 'New From par' and iView type is 'com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap' and system of type 'com.sap.portal.howtos.webapp' using 'New From Par'.
Pls help.

the imported content package is imported at two different location based on two version
as follow.
if your portal is EP 5.0 then the package extension is ".pkg" and it is imported as your told path means "Administrator->Portal Content->Migrated Content->EP 5.0->roles-cFolders."here also depending your imported content.
if your portal is EP 6.0 then the package extension is ".epa" and it is imported under the path " Administrator->Portal Content->content providede by sap" here in subfolders depending your imported content.
and for your problem related cant's see the system aliases
you have to set the permission for your newly created system.

I cannot browse on the portal server but I have the super admin role, so maybe I can check it via Netweaver Adminostrator?

I know that I should see the components via http:<hostname>:5xx00/sap/monitoring/ComponentInfo.
But in our Development Portal system I don't see BP_ERP5PSS. It is available in the Production Portal.
When I browse in the PCD I see the business package in the folder:
- Production Portal: pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.projectss.bp_folder
- Development Portal: pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.projectss.bp_folder
Why is it invisible on the Development Portal??

Importing Business Package more than once for different systems

We have a demo portal (EP6 SP12) connecting to various SAP systems. We want to use the same Business Package for two different systems. Is there any way to import a Business Package a second time with a different system alias, without overwriting the first import, so we can point it to a different system?

Prakash - I had thought of this, but I would then have to recreate the pages, worksets and roles manually. Also some BPs contain hundreds of iviews so it would be very time consuming to manually edit the system alias on each one.
Karsten - At the moment, we're interested in the ESS and MSS Business Packages but I would also like to know generally, since I'm sure in the future this will apply to other BPs for us.

Feros,
It looks like the Business Package is trying to replace a piece of content ( iview, page, role ect ) that has a locked child. Make sure all of your content is unlocked and reimport the business package.

Importing Portal Business packages

Hi,
I am trying to import Business packages through
System Administration->Transport Packages->Import.
While downloading the packages, I have received as *.SCA from service market place. But in portal, it is accepting only *.EPA files.
How can I upload these business packages through portal?

Hello Mohan,
If you are using NW2004s you can also use JSPM to install business packages. It takes care of the sequence of installation as well.
All you need to do is copy these sca or all the installation files into the directory : \usr\sap\trans\EPS\in
Then go to : usr\sap\TES\DVEBMGS01\j2ee\JSPM folder under j2ee. and start the tool. It is fast too.

Fail to import ESS business package..Urgent!

Dear All NWDI expert,
I have installed the NWDI and trying my first step to customize the standard ESS business package. We are on ESS business package 13.
The following are the list of step that i have done. Can anyone tell me which step i make mistakes?
Step
1) Create a new track and assign the SAP_ESS release 100 to the track
2) Copy the 3 files SAPBUILDT13_0.SCA, SAPJEE13_0.SCA, SAPJTECHS13_0.SCA into E:\usr\sap\JTrans\CMS\inbox.
3) "Check IN" the 3 files and check in. Then "check import" and import the files.
4) Copy the SAPPCUIGP09_0-20001215.SCA and SAPPCUIGP09P_1-20001215.SCA into E:\usr\sap\JTrans\CMS\inbox.
5) "Check IN" both file and "check import" for the pcuigp sca files.
6) Import both of the file which is the original file and patch.      **(Do i need to import the patch file as well? I did not manage to import the patch file and the status shows outdated )
7) Copy the SAPESS09_0-20000512.SCA and SAPESS09P_3-20000512.SCA into E:\usr\sap\JTrans\CMS\inbox
8) "Check IN" the 2 files and check in. Then "check import" and import the files.
10) Import the 2 files.*(the system show import fail and i hav to repeat all over again by creating a new track)
When i try it for the second time, i am getting the import fail error again and below are parts from the files.

Hi Bryan,
Open the CBS Web UI and navigate to the buildspace you are working on.
a. Choose Edit and select Input Mode = OPEN.
b. Save the new state.
c. Try import again.

Um.. I thought .epa files only came in in EP6. So you may have the EP6 version of the business package and not the EP5 one.

The file extensions that can be imported into the portal:
CDF, XML, IVU, PCK, IVS, PAG, PGS, ROL, FLD, PIV, TPL.
Can anyone suggest the method of importing the ESS Package into EP 5.0?

Check the zip file to see if there is a .pkg file, the pkg file contain definitions on what are the associated files (CDF, XML, IVU, PCK, IVS, PAG, PGS, ROL, FLD, PIV, TPL). Try importing the pkg file (unzip zip).
