Import by date: 2008/December

The Import-Photos dialog box offers many choices for how to organize the pictures if the file-handling is set to: Copy Photos and Import.
There are lots of options, but none I like . I'd love an organize choice of "by date: 2008/December" or "by date: 2008/12". Instead, it created a separate folder for each day!!

I too would like an option to organise folders by year and month, but not by day. My structure is e.g. 2009/2009-05/2009-05 Holiday in China. Within this I rename all images to 2009-05 Holiday in China 001, 2009-05 Holiday in China 002 etc. So a 'By Date' option of 2009/2009-05/2009-05 Custom Text (where Custom Text is the value specified in the rename section), would be perfect for me. But even an option of 2009/2009-05 would be helpful, as I can then add the final folder level by editing the path (see tip below).
Clearly though, what we really need is a full token-based approach to naming folder hierarchies, similar to renaming.
I have actually discovered a workaround (as far as I know undocumented) , but it's rather clunky: Select the 'By Date' option which is nearest to what you want. In the box below, the actual folder paths appear for each shooting date with count of images for each date. These folder paths are editable if you double-click on them. You can edit the folder path to what you actually want. It is rather time-consuming though.

SDDM 3.3.0.747 32-bit on Windows 7 64-bit.
Comments are not imported from Data Dictionary of SQL Server 2008. Connection through Microsoft JDBC Driver 4.0 for SQL Server or jTDS 1.2.7
What I have tried? In SDDM DDL generation, Comments in DBRMS for SQL Server are generated with "EXEC sp_addextendedproperty 'MS_Description' , 'Test Comment' ..." so I added extended property named "MS_Description" into SQL Server database, both on table and column. None of them were imported from Data Dictionary into SSDM. I have tried both drivers stated above. Is it a bug or am I missing something?
I've found similar question thread Re: Data dictionary import doesn't import column comments for SDDM 3.0.0.665, so I guess it is a bug when importing with JDBC drivers.

Extended properties were not imported correctly from SQLServer databases at DM 3.3.0.747.
Calls to sp_addextendedproperty and fn_listextendedproperty have been modified.
I don't think it is a problem with JDBC drivers.
A bug fix should be available in the next release of DM.

If your server (with target DB and OWB runtime) is on Windows OS this configuration will be simpler - you can use single server.

Import by date+customname

When importing images to Lightroom it would be preferred to have the option of importing via date+custom name. Would also be nice to be able to back up to a folder with the identical name on a different drive.
File name example: 2010-04-23-Iceland

We should have the same flexability to customize the folder we import into as we have to customize the names of the imported images. Based on a couple "Alternate folder structures" postings on www.lightroomforums.net, I've added the following two lines in my TranslatedStrings.txt
"$$$/AgImportDialog/ShootArrangement_3/Template=%Y Photos/%Y-%m %B/%Y-%m-%d"
"$$$/AgImportDialog/ShootArrangement_3/Label=By date: 2005 Photos/2005-12 December/2005-12-17"
but what I really want is

where %t means insert some user-specified text, and I want LR support for creating these presets just like for renaming presets. I shouldn't have to modify TranslatedStrings.txt manually. Currently, after importing, I have to manually create the final folder and copy the images into it.

Messages won't import from Entourage 2008 to Outlook 2011

My hard drive crashed on my MacBook Pro that was running Entourage 2008 for Mac. I have a back up of the Microsoft User Data file, and I want to upload it to Outlook 2011 for Mac. When I import the data, it pulls my calendar and complete folder structure into outlook perfectly. However, there are no messages/emails in any of the folders. I've tried it a couple times and same thing always happens. Transfers everything but the messages. The database is 19GBs, so I know the messages are on there.

To exporting Entourage data into Outlook 2011, select "Items to an Entourage archive" option and that gets export everything; mail, folders I've created, contacts, and calendar.

Import from Entourage 2008 to Calendar not working

Hi all, so after 11+ years of using Entourage I'm finally biting the bullet and trying to migrating to Calendar/Mail/etc ...
Anyway I'm struggling to get Calendar to play nicely. When I use "Import from Entourage..." Entourage 2008 opens as expected and Calendar shows the "Importing Entourage data..." progress bar for a few seconds but nothing appears to be imported. What am I doing wrong?

I just got a new 256GB SSD drive for my mac, I want to import my data from time machine backup, but its larger than 256GB since it used to be on my old optical drive. How can I import my latest backup keeping out some big files on the external drive?

When you restore from a Time Machine back up, you can tell it to not transfer folders like Desktop, Documents. Downloads, Movies, Music, Pictures and Public. Take a look at the article below for the steps to restore from your back up.

SQL modeler can not import from data dictionary

It was very frustruted to see that the SQL Modeler hang in import from data dictionary of a database as part of revise engineering. I have to question myself if sql modeler is a serious tool and should I give up.

I am not sure if Data Modeller is still in Beta./Production. First couple off initial versions of a new product are normally buggy.

Import XML data to textfields in a PDF file

Can I use LiveCycle Designer 8.2 to auto populate textfields in a PDF-file with data from a XML-file when the user opens the PDF-file? If so, how will I do it? Is there any guide?
It works fine in the Livecycle Designer preview but when I open the PDF-file all textfields are empty. It also works fine if I import data from a OLEDB-connection.

I'm looking for a solution for the same thing. I have a pdf form with fields bound to an xml file, but Acrobat will only import the data manually (Forms / Manage Form Data / Import Data) and Reader doesn't work at all.
Tech Support says that when in Livecycle, you're working in an xml environment, so the 'Preview PDF' works. Acrobat and Reader aren't xml environments, so they won't display the data.
What we need is a javascript programmer who can figure this out. Possibly using the remerge function. Anyone???

Can't import ical dates into iphoto calendar

Hi all,
I'm trying to make an iphoto calendar for a friend and I'm running into a frustrating problelm. My friend emailed me an ical birthday calendar which he would like to have included in the iphoto calendar. I imported the ical calendar into my own ical as a new calendar. I have created my calendar in iphoto but I cannot import these dates into it. When I go to settings and click the calendar tab I am given the option of which ical calendars I would like to import to my calendar. I see two, one is my own normal calendar and the other is the birthday calendar sent to me by my friend. I check the birthday calendar and then click ok and ical appears to be importing the dates but when I look at my calendar the dates have not imported. If I try importing my normal calendar I have no problem. What's going on here??? Please help I am getting really frustrated.

There are many video formats. iPhoto can't read all of them; in fact, it can't read most of them. Here's something that can:

Importing iCal dates into Address book

I have a calendar in iCal that stored severyone's brithday and I would like now to import these dates into my address book. Is there any way?

You may be able do this with an Applescript. However there is not enough information supplied to know.
How are ther events formatted in iCal? Do they contain the full name of the person? Do they say how old they are? Are the people already in Address Book, or would they all be new cards?

How to import measurment data from a Excel File to Citadel DataBase?

A Microsoft Excel File is being created in a PC and I want to include that flie´s data into my citadel Database wich is in another PC.

I give a example "Importing Spreadsheet Data to the Citadel Database" in the LabVIEW Version 6.1 and LV-DSC 6.1.
LabVIEW 7.0 with LV-DSC you must in the ini file "DSCEngine.ini"
set NoShutdownLog=1 and UseServerTimestamps=TRUE.

Import excel data from OWB10.2

I wanted to import excel data into OWB 10gr2. So i have followed the steps in the attached link. But i cannot perform the operations from step 6 in OWB 10rR2.
In OWB10.2 how could i create a new database link. Inorder to create a new module below ODBC i have to give the location. I cannot create the location.
Step 6: Create an ODBC Source Module and a Database Link
Use the following steps to create an ODBC source module and database link:
1. From the Warehouse Builder console, create an ODBC source module. On the
navigation tree, ODBC modules are listed under the Others node of the Databases
node.
2. On the Connection Information page, click New Database Link to create a new
database link that reads data using the data source created. Figure 3–3 shows the
entries used on the New Database Link dialog.
Note: Ensure that the initialization parameter GLOBAL_NAMES is set
to FALSE in the database's initialization parameter file. FALSE is the
default setting for this parameter.

Which option should i consider. Should i consider database link or host:port:service or sql*net connection. suppose If i take database link option what is the description i have to enter in database link box. Should i create a database link manually from sql*plus.
