IMPORT CAMERA MOVIES INTO IPAD

Hello... I am trying to import movie(s) filmed on my Sony Cyber-shot HX9V into my iPad 3 using the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit using my camera’s USB cable. (Importing using the memory card connector only imports photos from what I have experienced).  Once connected from camera to ipad I receive a message: "Accessory Unavailable: The attached accessory uses too much power".  I have plugged and unplugged numerous times to NO success.  Question: does anyone have know how to resolve this problem?  Must I use some "app" such as iMovie for the iPad...or?? an import via the app?
I am able to successfully export movies into my iMac via card reader and open up in iMovie on my iMac.

Just checked the Camera specs and it seems you have a bunch of options when it comes to movie recording.
Can you post what format the videos are you recorded?
This is from the Apple iPad3 tech specs:
Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
Keep an eye of the appendix .m4v,.mov, .mp4 and compare it with your camera. Are your recordings also stored in the DCIM folder (i guess yes)?

  • Cannot import Finalize movie into iMovie

Upon connecting the Video Camera to my MacBook Pro, DVD Player launches. I quit DVD Player and go to iMovie>Import Movies, but never see how to import the movie into iMovie.

The "Import Movies..." option is for importing "edit" compatible files from a hard drive into iMovie '08. If the source files are not already "edit" compatible, iMovie '08 will not let you import them. Instead, try the ""Import from Camera..." option. If iMovie '08 properly recognizes you DVD camcorder, it will import your MPEG2/AAC content by converting all MPEG-2 "P" and "B" frames to "I" frames (which are editable), convert the AC3 audio to AIFF, and place both in an MOV file container with start and/or end time offsets to minimize drift between audio and video. The resulting file can then be edited in iMovie '08.
If the camcorder is not recognized by iMovie '08, then you will probably have to import the MPEG2/AC3 files to you hard drive and manually convert them to an edit compatible compression format manually using an MPEG-based, third-party conversion application like iSquint (free), MPEG Streamclip (free but requires $20 QT MPEG-2 Playback component), FFmpegX, (donation-ware), Visual Hub (pay-ware), MPEG2 Works (pay-ware), or similar application.

  • How to sync/import photos/mp4 into iPad?

    Hi,
I have a Macbook Pro running latest version of Yosemite. I also have an iPad running iOS 8.1.1. I have some old photos and mp4 video that I shot in my Macbook Pro. I can not figure out how to sync/import the photos and mp4 to my iPad so I can show to my guests in the coming holiday. I'd appreciate any help.
    Thanks

You can use iTunes. Import the movies into iTunes then sync them onto your iPad
You can also use something like dropbox, upload them there from your mac then download them onto your iPad.
You may want to download and read the manual for more specific directions

Since you clips were imported to iPhoto, I assume they were recorded on a digital camera which may use and number of audio and video compression formats. Since a file must contain "edit" compatible formats to be imported by iMovie '08, if the audio and/or video is incompatible, the file will not import. So, the first step is to open your clip in the QT Player and check the "Inspector" window to see what compression formats they contain. Once you know that, you can determine how best to convert the incompatible format(s) to compatible ones.

  • How can I import a movie into iMovie 09 from a hard drive?  The movie will open and play in idvd but breaks into separate files that can't be downloaded when I try to import.  Can it be done?

How can I import a movie into iMovie 09 from a hard drive?  The movie will open and play in idvd but breaks into separate files that can't be downloaded when I try to import.  Can it be done? I am trying to create a disc of player highlights for a collegiate coach, and I am using movie files downloaded to my hard drive from a DVD created on a PC.

No unfortunately it won't open in quicktime either.  It does the same thing that Imovie does, separates it into two file folders audio and video, and if i select video it opens to reveal 8 files that cannot be selected.  VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VIDEO_TS.VOB,VTS_01_0.BUP, VTS_01_0.IFO, VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VB, VTS_01_3.VOB.  All of which cannot be opened or selected.
Opening it in Idvd and folllowing your suggestion works and I get a format code of NTSC.  Is that the same?  Thank you for your time and response.

  • Import iTunes movie into iMovie or Motion

I am a teacher and I wanted to show the movie Hocus Pocus to the kids at my elemtary school. But the school doesn't allow movies with ANY language. I would like to be able to import this movie into iMovie '11 or Motion 5 and block out the cuss words. This is a protected MPEG 4 video, so, none of these programs will let me do this! Any suggestions? (Please don't recomend any video convertors unless they're free, don't have a time limit, and will work with protected MPEG's) THANKS!

You cannot edit the movies and you cannot legally remove the DRM.
You can't show movies in school unless it is part of the curriculum (the movie actually pertains to the studies). Simply for entertainment is not permissible (without copright owners permission).

  • Import a movie into a slideshow in iDVD

I am trying to do the steps as discussed by "Nashed" (Feb. 2009) in regards to making the video stop after each chapter in iDVD. However, the dragging of the clips to the slideshow window is not working. Nothing happens. A red dot with the number one shows up on the clip when I drag it, but when I place it in the window it does nothing. How do I import a movie into the slideshow window in iDVD? I am using iDVD6. Still photos import fine.

    Thanks. I read the thread.
I am running iDVD6. I set up a test project and tried every conceivable way I could think of to drag a movie into a slideshow, and could not do it--not into the slide show button or the main slideshow editing window, or the slide show window in map view. The movie does end up in the slide show audio well, and I can hear the audio (if I have also put in a photo), but could not see any video. Nor does the movie icon show up in map view or in the main iDVD editing window. I tried dragging the video from the audio well, but that didn't work either. I tried dragging it in from the media pane, my desktop, and from the Movies folder. No luck. I even tried copy and paste, and that didn't work. Playing with the preferences didn't help. I had set up a test project and tried it before I posted my initial response to you saying it couldn't be done. Upon revisiting the issue, I, at least, still can't do it.
Nor could the person in the thread who uses iDVD6 drag a movie into a slideshow. "Nasher" could do it but that poster was running iDVD7. So, I am concluding that the ability to drag a movie into an iDVD slideshow only exists in iDVD7 or later. That would explain why it isn't "generally known".
It would be a cool feature if it could be done. Perhaps the answer in your case is to upgrade to iDVD7.
Hopefully someone on this forum, running either iDVD7 or iDVD6, will see this thread and perhaps can help us out here.

I have a short homemade film burnt onto a DVD, I now want to import the movie into IMOVIE on my MacBook Pro so that I can edit it, how would I go about doing this? Welcoming any guidance.  Thanks in advance.

    1. Insert your DVD.
    2. Open Disk Utilities (Application> Utilities> Disk Utilities). Highlight your DVD and press "New Image" on the upper toolbar.
    3. Choose the location you would like to save your DVD from the drop down menu, "Desktop" is usually the best choice. Then click Save.
    4. When finished, your DVD icon will appear on the desktop with the .dmg extension.
    5. With iMovie open, double-click the .dmg  file you created to mount it. The iMovie import window will then appear asking you to choose. Click Import All and wait for the Import to complete.

  • How to import a movie into mac

When I played a dvd from MAC and it always detroyed my DVD after a few times.  Is there a way to import a movie into MAC?
    Thanks.
    Yuyuki

If the drive is physically destroying DVD's you need to have it repaired. A DVD should play indefinitely for all intents and purposes.
There should not be any physical contact between the player and the disk.
If the system is out of warranty and you don't want to pay to have it repaired there are many 3rd party USB and/ FireWire DVD drives that you can purchase. for a reasonable price.

  • How to import Powerpoint movie into FCP

I have a powerpoint slideshow from a client and am needing to import it into FCP. In PPT I saved it as "Make Movie", and sought to import as .mov into FCP. When i try to open it, I get error , message, "Out of Memory." I have 27 GB of memory on the main drive, and the file is only 49MB. Any help would be appreciated.

First find a sharp object, then look for the soft spot on the inside of your wrist...
    or if you must,
Export each slide as a still file and rework them in Motion. You probably need to set them on a background because NO ONE EVER build powerpoint for text safe in video.

  • Importing a movie into Captivate

I need to import a movie into Captivate. I've tried .avi and .swf....flv works great, but the finished .swf file will be placed into an LMS shell, so I won't be able to reference the external .flv file.
The .avi file, when published in Captivate to a .swf, is choppy and the audio is off. I tried changing the frame rate, but it didn't help.
When I converted the .avi to a .swf file, placed it into Captivate and published it, the resulting .swf opened for a couple of seconds then crashed, or closed, or whatever. I just get a blank screen for a couple of seconds, then nothing.
Please advise re: the best movie format to place into Captivate. I can convert the .avi to any format.
    Thanks, mp

Well, for starters, Adobe Support people don't lurk in the forums waiting for issues to resolve.
What you mostly have here are users helping other users. Now we do notice that members of the Adobe Captivate Development team have been frequently posting here since version 5 has been released. While I heartily applaud that move and agree that it will only help the product over the long haul, we shouldn't count on it because Adobe says right up front that the forums are User to User and not an officially sanctioned support channel.

  • Importing Director movies into Flash

My short Q, which I suspect is a FAQ though it doesn't appear
on the Director or Flash FAQs on the Macromedia (sorry, Adobe ;-))
site, is: how can you import Director movies (source .dir, or
published .dcr) into a Flash movie?
I had thought this would be simple, that Flash would have an
import filter for Shockwave movies, as after all both products come
from the same stable and you can import .swf movies into Director,
but not so, at least in my copy of Flash 8. Neither can Director
export as a .swf - the only export format that might just work is
.avi but I'm damned if I want to create a big video file just to
reuse a snippet from a Director movie. I did a quick Google search
for DCR->SWF converters but couldn't see anything obvious to
    use.
The reason I'm bothered about this is that we've produced a
lot of e-learning material in Director (a good third of our
    learning objects at
    http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/nursing/sonet/rlos/rlolist.html
use Shockwave movies) and although we've now moved on to Flash,
occasionally we want to be able to reuse snippets from Director
movies in Flash movies. It would be disappointing, to put it
mildly, were we not able to move content between software
applications produced by the same company...
    TIA for any answers/suggestions.
    Cheers

I feel your pain an don't know what's going to happen with
Director now that Adobe is involved.
You mentioned that you could export as avi, could you copy
the scenes in which you want to use into a new director file,
export that as an avi and conver t that to an flv?
    Just a thought.

    Hi
It's a little "off" (the sizing is not quite right now), but it's viewable!
Yes - and the info from the sides - are not recorded anywhere as Camera was rotated 90 deg when recording.
    Only alternatives are:
    - Increase the picture size and crop top / bottom.
    - or create a frame instead of the black left and right side "pillards" . just to make it look nicer.
How a Clip-sequence is recorded is very important and using standing picture format as 3x4 (instead of 4x3) is a photo habit in my cases. I've just to forget it and try to concentrate on that it's Video-works I'm into doing .
To make up-sizing and cropping one can use
    - QuickTime-pro - or -
    - MPEG-StreamClip - or -
    - FinalCut Pro (expensive but here You can re-size and rotate and move the clip to view the interesting part - by key-framing.
