Import Captivate 2.0 to Captivate 1.0

Hi,
is there a possibility to import presentations made with the
latest version of captivate into Captivate 1.0?
Maybe by converting from Captivate 2.0 to Powerpoint and then
import PowerPoint into Captivate 1.0?
Any ideas?
Thx for the help.

Hi Computer_King and welcome to our community
Actually, assuming you have both Captivtate 1 and Captivate 2
on the same PC, you may want to give this a try.
Open the project in version 2. Then create a new project in
version 1 that has the same dimensions (for example 640x480)
Then methodically visit each slide in Version 2 and try
copying from 2 and pasting into 1. I'm not sure if it will work for
entire slides, but it might. I believe I've done it with assorted
objects.
Additionallly, (and this should go without saying but I'll
say it anyway) anything Version 2 offers that isn't supported in
version 1 (zoom areas for example) will not function in version 1.
Hopefully this helps... Rick

  • Importing Captivate 3 files into 4

Has anyone reported problems with mouse paths not converting when importing Captivate 3 projects to Captivate 4? Sometimes the mouse path completely disappears, other times, it's there but is ignored. The mouse pointer is there, but it does not move - it shows at the final location.

    Hi there
I've seen folks reporting lots of issues with Captivate 4 since its release. However, I'm not sure I've seen anyone specifically report what you just have.
As the mouse is an individual object in Captivate, I'm wondering if perhaps you have other objects that are possibly moving in the stacking order so they cover the Mouse?
Perhaps try right-clicking the Mouse object on the problem slides and choosing Order > Bring to Front?

  • Importing captivate project to premiere

We would like to create a captivate screen demo project whose output can be inserted into premiere, in order to blend a video into the bottom corner of it.
Is there a good way of importing the file? I see from an older forum post that this is a problem.

    Hi Rick,
If I publish an .exe, I can't do fastforward or skip (or I do not know how to).
If I have a mpg or mp4 I can use a DVD player to to fastforward.
If I try to publish as F4V but I get the warning I should resize.
    My Project is 1288x1054.
    The Warning says:
Resize your project such that teh with and heigth are lesser than 1500 ans 1100 respectively,
    ans Wdith X Height does not exceed 1024 X 768 (786432).
I dont know what Width X Height is, but however I didnt finde where I can resize the project.
In the german manual I didnt find resize or "Auflößung".
Can you give me some advice.

  • Imported Captivate video playbar doesn't display close captioning icon

I've imported a captivate 6 demo into robohelp 10 and everything works perfectly, except that the closed captioning (CC) icon does not display on the Captivate playbar. It shows up just fine in Captivate, but not in Robohelp.
I've tried externalizing the skin to import into Robohelp and I still get the same result. The CC icon doesn't show up in the playbar. I have to have closed captioning in my work environment for my Captivate videos. Can anyone help?

    Hi there
Screen captures might prove useful, but if you are to provide them, you will need to use the camera icon and upload them here.
When you are linking to the Captivate, how are you doing it? Are you pointing to the SWF or are you using HTML 5 output from Captivate?

  • How do I import Captivate 4 into Flash CS5?

I am not a Flash expert obviously. I am trying to import my captivates into Flash and get an error message that the file was not imported because it could not be read. Can anyone help?

    Hello,
Normally you can export the Captivate file to Flash from the File menu, but I'm not sure it will work between 2 different versions: 4 for Captivate and CS5 for Flash?

    Hi all
I would heartily encourage anyone that feels it would be
worthwhile to PLEASE consider submitting a Wish Form asking for a
decompiler to be created by the Captivate development team. I've
campaigned for this for years (albeit so far fruitlessly). But
something like this would be a welcome addition, no?

  • Importing Captivate CS3 project into Captivate CS5.5

Our company has a number old projects that were created and saved in Adobe Captivate CS3.  We need up update the material using Captivate CS5.5; however, they will not open in this version.  We believe it may be due to older Flash files and the drop in support of AS2 files.  We can open these projects in Captivate CS4, then CS5.5, but this is not a long term solution for us.  Is there a converter or some other option available???   Thank you very much.

Apart from opening Captivate files with other Captivate versions has you have already done, there is no other solution for upgrading your projects.
Bite the bullet and do this immediately to get your projects into CPTX format files.  Cp7 or later versions will not open .cp format files.  Only CPTX.  So since you appear to currently have Cp versions that will open your old Cp3 files, you are best advised to do this right away.  Otherwise your next upgrade to Cp7 or Cp8 later this year could see you tossing all courses built in the older Cp format.

  • Imported captivates into a separate captivate, timing off

I have a slide that is meant to be an online interactive tool to determine "yes, or no" in 16 categories.
It is a table with 16 squares but I needed an animation that would allow the user to click and change each box from "no" to "yes" and back again.
I created a captivate that was 2 slides - a red "X" for no and a green checkmark for yes.
I then published this captivate as a flash / html5.
Then I created the main interactive, a slide with 16 squares which I then inserted the "yes/no" flash into 16 times.
When I insert the "yes, no" animation into the final slide everything looks great.
However, upon preview and publish, a user can click on the squares to change them from no to yes, but sometimes clicking on one square (animation) also changes 2 squares.
In the screenshot, I have the view so that you can see the main slide with the animations (on left), then the preview (on right), and I have clicked on the first "x" to change it to a checkmark, but when I clicked on the first box, another box was affected and changed to a checkmark as well.  I can't decide if it is a timing issue, but my goal is that a user can click on any of the boxes and only affect that box.
Thank you for your ideas and thoughts.

I agree with Lieve.  Not a good idea.
If you had just placed the images of the tick and cross in each square and used Advanced Actions to toggle them, then you would also have been able to have those actions set User Variables and track which answers the user had given.  That data could have been used elsewhere in the same project to modify the experience.

  • Import Captivate Flash into Adobe Presenter

I'm using a combination of Captivate and Presenter to publish
online training to our intranet. I've successfully completed 3
learning modules, but this one's giving me a headache. It contains
3 separate Flash files, 2 of which originated with a Captivate
file. Those 2 don't play correctly once I've published the
Presenter file to our web server. The screen goes blank several
times during playback. I've never had this problem before. Is it a
memory issue? Is there some setting I can change, either when
publishing the Captivate file to Flash or in Adobe
    Presenter?

    Hi there rizakag
Double check to see if where the blank areas are happening
are tied to slides inside the Captivate project where full motion
clips are. (You should be able to tell by looking at the Film Strip
that runs along the left side of Captivate. Full motion slides
typically have a large Camcorder icon in the corner.)
If so, it would seem to indicate that Presenter is not
handling these external files properly and there are other hoops
you may need to jump through.
Give that a go and report back with your findings.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Importing Adobe Captivate into Robohelp 6

When I try to import Captivate files into RoboHelp it seems
like the import was successful, but when I try to view it the

    Any ideas?

    Hey Colum,
Thanks for your help, but I still seem to be having
    difficulty.
I am using RoboHelp HTML 6 for my project.
Here is what I have done:
Created my Captivate file & saved it.
Imported the Captivate file in my Baggage Folder.
    Problems are:
When I double click on the file in Baggage it opens up
    Captivate.
I then tried to import the same clip into a New Topic, but
again all I get is a text box saying Flash Movie File. I compiling
the porject, but when I try to click on the topic with the
Captivate file, but the page freezes. When I mouse over the text
box it says "Click to activate & use this control."
    Any help would be great.

  • Standalone Captivate import plugin for Flash

    Hi,
I posted this one year ago but this is still a problem as we
    are about
    to buy Captivate 2 :
I'd like to be able to import Captivate files that have been
    done on
another machine. Is there any "standalone" captivate plugin
    for Flash ?
We're currently just testing the demo, but there's no way we
    would buy
another Flash license or two Captivate licenses just to
    import Captivate
projects ! I will never be the one that will use Captivate
    but I will
always do the final editing in Flash on my machine.
Did Adobe really ignore the fact that Flash could be
    installed on
another computer, like you would share pictures between
    different
    applications and computers ?
    Thanks.
    PJ

I see what you mean and I suspected a resources problem but :
    - many applications convert their files to many other formats
    on their
own and with some effort, I suppose you can have the needed
    DLL's copied
on the Flash machine by the "plugin" installer. I think the
    need for
both applications is the easy way for developpers !
    - we still haven't upgraded to Flash 8 for cost reasons and I
    think
paying full price just to import Captivate files is quite
disproportionate... but that's a personal point of view, of
    course !
    - Adobe could just give (or even sell, low price) a code that
    locks
Captivate on the Flash machine but just allows exports to
    FLA.
Anyway, I think I will never be able to import Captivate
    files because
there is NO way Captivate will be on my machine...
    Too bad...
