Import CD Track Title to iTune

Finally I fixed the problem of not able to import audio CD to iTune by changing the registry. There still remain the problem of not being able to import the track title. I used iTune in Windows XP. Can anybody help?

Be careful when you reinstall the iTunes. Sometimes, you can't get the iTunes back. I mean, you can't reinstall it back and you will get some errors with the installation.

  • Imported CD Tracks So Not Appear in iTunes Library

For years, I have imported Audio Book CDs into iTunes, synced them to my iPod and listened to them while we travel.  Now that I have updated to Lion and iCloud, I am experiencing problems.
Problem 1.  The first CD found two options within the CDDB database.  The one with the correct album title had incorrect track names.  I changed those on the "Import" list before importing.  However, after importing, the original, incorect, track titles appeared in the imported tracks.
Problem 2.  The second CD was not found in the CDDB so I entered the album title, artist, and genre.  After importing this CD, I could not find the tracks in my iTunes library.  When I tried to re-import, I received the error message that these tracks had already been imported.  I opted to replace them, but still could not find them in my library.  I tried searching with a variety of tags.
I have signed up for iTunes Match.  That processwas completed weeks ago.  I suspect that the issue may be related to iCloud.
    OS 10.7.3
    iTunes 10.6.1
Any asistance would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Make sure that you're hooked up to the internet properly. You can also test to see if your windows media player is getting the CD info.
    In iTunes:
Edit > Preferences > General - 'Automatically retrieve CD track names from internet'.

  • Importing problem - Squares after track titles.

Whenever I try importing my (rather extensive) music folder into iTunes, I get squares after all the track titles. It imports those onto my iPod as well. It's hard to explain, so here is a picture

Not all SWF files will successfully import as movie files. How are you setting up your Flash project? Have you ever had this workflow be successful before? Did you try turning your SWF into a FLV file? If you can get your fine to work the first time (last bullet point) why not render it out with an alpha chanel so you don't have to mess with SWF files in the rest of your workflow. That's what I would do.

  • ITunes import no track names from CD import, how do I get iTunes to recongnise that iTunes was used originally for the import?

The following message keeps appearing "iTunes cannot get  CD track names for songs that were not imported using iTunes.  To allow iTunes to look for CD track names for this song, import the song again using iTunes."  I did originally use iTunes to do the original import.  I do not have the original CDs anymore as I have shifted house.  How do I get iTunes to recognise that the import was done using iTunes?  Please help.

No they were labelled Track 1, Track 2 etc.. when I originally did the import.  But I put that down to the fact that I was staying at a friends house who had no internet so it didn't go off and get the titles automatically as per usual.  I just figured I would be able to correct it later when I had a bit more time and had set up my internet.  Moving house is rather disruptive so there has been a time hiatus of a couple of weeks inbetween original import and now me trying to correct it.
    StepForward,
Yes, that is normally the function of the Advanced > Get Track Names function.  It can get track names even without the CD present, by querying CDDB based on its "memory" of the CD.  (I just tried this, so I have to disagree with my friend Fiend.)
It is possible that your CDInfo.CIDB file is messed up.  It is also possible that CDDB does not recognize the CD, so even with Internet all you get is Track 01, etc.
Unless you are talking about mucho CDs where this happened, you may just want to manually edit the track names.

  • ITunes cutting of song/track titles at 30 characters

So I updated to itunes 11.1 for Windows 7 64-Bit today. And I added a bunch of tracks right after I updated. However, when I go to right click -> get info on the tracks, it cuts the track titles down to 30 characters. And here's another thing, it doesn't do it on the tracks that were imported BEFORE the update. So, anybody have a clue as to what to do? Because it's around 40-50 tracks, and I don't feel like going through all 40-50 and redoing the titles.

Wow, what a super-helpful forum. Guess I'll look elsewhere...

  • Itunes 10 imports cd tracks in alphabetical order only.  What setting do I change so it imports the same order as the cd?

itunes 10 imports cd tracks in alphabetical order only.  What setting can I change so that it will import cd tracks in the same order as on the cd?  Any help would be appreciated!  I have this issue on only 1 of my 2 macbook pro computers, so I'm guessing it is a setting issue--but I don't know where to find it.

The apparent order of a burned CD may depend upon how you have iTunes display it - https://discussions.apple.com/message/17827921

  • Can I change track titles?

A friend gave me an iPod as a gift and it was loaded with a bunch of songs from our high school grad year. Some of the songs he purchased from iTunes and when I tried to sync it on my computer it would never let me without erasing the iPod because of those purchased songs. I tried, several times, to add my computer (or whatever it was) like I was prompted but that never worked. So my friend burned the playlist onto an audio CD for me (actually it took 4 cd's) so I could just import them into iTunes. Well, that worked, but the title of all the songs turned into track 1, track 2, etc. for each disk. So now, when I sync them over to the iPod I won't have any idea which song is about to play. Is there a way to edit the track titles?

Because iTunes songs cannot be transferred to another person. The song has the account info of whoever purchased it, embedded into the song file.

  • Help, I can't import my CD songs to itunes for Windows

Help, I can't import my CD songs to itunes for Windows.
My computer crashed. All my songs on CDs were titled by numbers "01", "02" etc. So I have many songs on various CDs titled "01" for example.
When I've tried to import various CDs, it seems like the different songs having the same names are confusing itunes, and my song tracks are getting mixed and muddled.
What can I do? Thanks for any help.

  • Tip: Track Titles listed twice

I've noticed this sometimes when I open the track list for an album, iTunes will show duplicate titles as follows. The astrisks are the Ratings column.
Example for album Foreigner - 4
    1. Night Life                              *****
    1. Night Life
    2. Juke Box Hero                      *****
    2. Juke Box Hero
    3. Break It Up                            *****
    3. Break It Up
    etcetera.
This is good if you want iTunes to play every song twice. However the only way I know to remove the duplicate listings is one at a time.
    1. Right Click on the 2nd listing of the pair.
    2. From the menu, select "Delete".
    3. From the popup select "Delete Song".
    Here's the IMPORTANT part.
    4. From the next popup, select "KEEP SONG FILE".
I went through this album making the MISTAKE of thinking there were also duplicate song files and selecting the 'move to recycle bin' option. The SONG FILES ARE NOT DUPLICATED! ONLY THE TITLES.
Afterwards, I had one listing for each title, but iTunes could not locate the song files.
Luckily I was able to quickly get to the Recycle Bin, Select those song files and RESTORE them! Whew!

I am having the same problem also . I've been loading cd's on to i-tunes for about 8 hours today and just the last ten or so cd's will only display track 1 , 2 , 3 etc . I get no artist ,album , now song information . I hope someone can help us . Also these are not burnt cd's , these are baught from the store and should display correct info . Is it when my library got so full it stopped displaying the tracks or what?? i need to know what im playing when im dj'ing a set. This also was not during an update it had been up to date for a couple weeks atleast i believe .

  • Track Titles on Burnt CD's??

I have been burning CD's for a period of time. Many of them play on other machines.. Windows based machines and pull the information on the track titles and many of them do not. Any assistance on how to avoid this problem. I would like to import these "mix" cd's but without information like track title, artist, etc... it is difficult to think I am going to rekey each and every mix CD.
    Any Assistance??

Apart from burning as an MP3 CD (with which the track
names etc. are stored as meta-data inside the MP3
files), the other option would be to burn using the
CD-TEXT standard. Unfortunately iTunes does not
support burning with this information (and for that
matter, many players including WMP for Windows do not
    support reading it).
I use Toast (in Mac OS X) to burn audio CDs using
CD-TEXT, I am sure there are plenty of equivalent
    packages for Windows.
However, I would agree MP3 format CDs is going to be
the simplest and most compatible option (although not
    of as good audio quality).
As of September 12th and the release of iTunes 7, iTunes
will now burn Audio CDs with CD-Text included (check in preferences). This applies to iTunes on both Mac and Windows.

  • PC crashes only when importing one track of an album!

I have loaded almost 25,000 tracks on my iTunes. I have added 4 more albums today but the last track on one disk freezes iTunes just before completing the download, then the PC restarts of its own accord. I have tried importing just this track and it does the same. All other albums and tracks do not do this. It is track 20 of disk 1 on Radio 1 Established 1967. Anyone else had a similar problem? Or know a cure for this?

I posted a solution on November 23, 2011, but it has yet to be acknowledged as "helpful" or a "solution" by the person who started the thread. But it works:
    1. Burn the problem songs to a CD.
    2. Drag the originals to another folder (for safe keeping) and delete from iTunes.
    3. Re-import the songs from the newly burned CD.
    4. The song and artist titles should populate automatically. But if they don't, enter them accurately.
    5. Then select, from the iTunes menu, Store > Update iTunes Match.
    Done.

  • Music album cover images and track titles show on iPhone 4s but music doesn't play - any ideas?

I am a Young at Heart Senior, new to iPhone 4s, have an old creaking pc with Windows XP Home.....but plan to enter the real world any day soon by buying a new Mac!
Here is my problem, I purchased an album on iTunes and mistakenly started to sync it to my phone, (although I don't have iCloud loaded on my pc). I stopped it mid download and later noticed that the total track numbers were showing as a red number above the "more" button as if they were waiting to complete the download. It stayed there while I thought about it for a few days, but when I click the Album button all the tracks are listed.
Now to the funny part.....when I click on a track or indeed any of them, it doesn't play a sound...but the progress bar above moves as if "now playing".
So, I thought.... no problem, I would connect the phone up to iTunes and delete the tracks....but when I do so, this album and none of it's track titles show in my music list for the phone......weird.
So, I have a large album with titles only on my phone, no music behind the titles (which, incidentally, is rubbish anyway) and I can't get rid of it off my phone, any of you young whizzy iPhoners have any ideas how to clear it off???
I did think I might just Restore my phone, but wondered whether downloading all my stuff from iCloud would still include the dreaded  "Now That's What I Call Christmas" album, which I only purchased in late 2011 to play at a seniors Xmas party...........you live and learn!
You will guess from my ramblings that I am not at all techy, but consider myself willing to learn and apart from this hiccup........I luuuurve my iPhone!

If you have all your music on the cmputer then i would connect up my phone uncheck the Sync Music option and apply.
This should take all the music off your phone .Then you can resync the music back on to it.
If this doesn't work maybe a restore to factory settings and start from scratch is the way to go

  • Unable to drag imported CD tracks to a playlist.

All of a sudden I am unable to track imported CD tracks to a playlist in iTunes On my Mac Pro.  This is the first time I've had this problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can only sync/manually manage with one computer at a time.
You need to sync the iphone to the new computer ( erasing the current content from the iphone) and replacing content with the new computer.
Make sure you copy everything from the backup copy of your old computer to the new one.

  • HT1844 Library Issue:  I just imported 2 CD's into ITunes.  They show up in "Recently Added" and on my other devices via ITunes Match, but NOT in the ITunes software on the computer where I added them.

Library Issue:  I just imported 2 CD's into ITunes.  They show up in "Recently Added" and on my other devices via ITunes Match, but NOT in the ITunes software on the computer where I added them.  They show up in the search box, but when I click on the results it just kicks me to ALL my music.  I have imported thousands of songs/CD's before and this is a new one.

Something may have gone wrong with the index of the Music playlist. Making another change to the library such as downloading the current iTunes Free Single of the Week, or deleting one track from your library and reimporting it, should fix the problem.
If that doesn't work close iTunes and delete the hidden file sentinel from inside the main iTunes folder, then start iTunes again. It should run a consistency check when it starts up which ought to correct things.

  • Imported music's titles are not correct, plus other things

I am trying to import music from a previous iTunes database. After importing from the folder containing the mp3s and iTune purchases, the music titles are all wrong. example; I play a Dresden Dolls song and it plays a Train song. Seems to be this way with a majority of the music. Plus, no artist info and very little album info.
I have never seen this before. I have deleted the iTunes library and info, recreated a new database and re-imported with the same results.

I am trying to import music from a previous iTunes database.
Why not simply copy the entire iTunes folder from the old computer?
