Import Configuration as real device not simulated

Hoping there is a way for this.
We have multiple DAQs and multiple computers that can be used in any configuration at any time. One computer has all the DAQs in NIMAX loaded. We would like to be able to grab any computer use any VI and use it with no worries of configuration (DAQ1 is DAQ1 on each computer).
I backed up the configuration file on the main computer, and attempted to export it on another. It states that all the devices will be simulated on the new computer. If they are simulated in NIMAX, correct me if I'm wrong, when I connect the real daq to that computer it will create a new device assigning it a new number, and therefore not allow the VI to work without re-configuration. Am I correct on this? How do I get around this?

When you add a read card, just delete the simulated device and configure the real one to be whatever name you need it to be.  Shouldn't take more than 2 minutes (including the loading of MAX).
Or if you really want to play it safe, delete the simulated device and then reimport your DAQ configuration.

  • Import MAX configuration without device or simulated device

I'm hoping there's a way to do this.
In previous versions of MAX, it was possible to import Channel and Task  information without having to import the Device.  This was handy if you didn't have the DAQ boards installed on that PC, but you needed to check Task and Channel information.
I'm currently trying to import an .nce file from a project where I'd used a USB6008 as the DAQ device.  I don't have access to one of those at the moment and it's one of the devices that cannot be simulated.
I have tried simulating a similar device with hopes of somehow "tricking" it to import.  So far, no luck.
Does anyone know of a way I can have a look at the Channel and Task information in that .nce file or possibly fanagle it into importing without or with another simulated device?

    Hi pallen,
I actually don’t know of a way to change the configuration in the .nce file. It's a binary file which main use is to import and export complete configurations when you do not need to edit that configuration outside of MAX. The .ini and .txt are intended for editing outside of MAX. However you can always import the .nce in MAX, make the changes needed and export a .ini to your final destination. Sorry that this is not too helpful on your current situation.

  • SUP 2.1.1 - Blackberry native app could not connect to SUP in a real device

    Hi,
I'm developing a native BB app, and I'm almost done, but it doesn't work in a real device.
For some reason, when I execute the medhot beginSynchronize to get data from SUP, the http connection petition through RBS port never reaches the SUP server... But the same code in the same device simulator works all right...
I've tried via 3G (public IP with the RBS port opened) and wifi with the network IP, but the result is the same...
    Can anybody help me?

I think it's because the device OS version... 7.0 is not supported by Sybase

  • Ciscoworks - devices "not configured in ACS"

    Hi all,
Can anyone explain why Ciscoworks places some new devices in the above category even when the device config, ACS, etc is all configured correctly? I have a handful of devices that keep going into this category and there is nothing I can do to stop it happening - it is a real hassle as you have to then set CW to non ACS mode restart the daemon, delete the entries etc etc.
If anyone can describe how I can get CW to manage such devices properly and possibly even tell me how to stop it happening in the future it would be of great help.
Many thanks in advance (though I know some of you would rather have points ;-)
    Scott

    Hi Scott ,
Device will  fall to " Devices not Configured in ACS " only  in 2 condition :
    1. Device is actually does not Exist in ACS
    2. It  EXist in ACS  with different IPADDRESS  or HOST NAME.
There is no direct way to delete these devices once they are on the Not Configured
in ACS list. However, one workaround is:
Step 1. Create a dummy NDG group in ACS to include these devices.
Step 2. Delete the devices in DCR and then in ACS.
Note: In order to delete a device from DCR we need to follow this procedure:
1.- Go to Common Services >> Devices and Credentials >> Reports >>
Devices that are not configured in ACS and generate a report.
2.- Now that we have all the devices that we want to delete, please go to
    Common Services
    >> Device and Credentials >> Device Management  and select all the devices
    from CS (Common Services database).
3.- Click on Delete and a confirmation message will pop, agree to this.
I hope this will help you
    Thanks

  • Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource (DNS server) is not responding [and I'm at my wit's end!]

I originally posted this question to the community section and was advised to post it here.  Please bear with me as this will be a long post.  I'm including the scenarios involving this reoccurring issue, the trouble shooting steps I've already
taken and the results of several diagnostic tools and logs.
I have a Sony VAIOS VPCEBB33FM lap top since 2011.  I have had this issue on an off for a long time.  I'm at my wit's end.  Any new insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Scenario Details
    1)  Some times it's on and off through out the day, sometimes it won't work all day, and once in a while it will work fine for the entire day.
    2)  I've had this issue across several wireless services, Clear Network accessed with WiMax, Library Wi-fi, Comcast cable internet using wireless router and Wi-fi, and Comcast Xfinity Wi-Fi, to name a few examples.
    3)  Other devices in the household or library will work with no problems such as my smart phone or my roommates' laptops or desktop computers.
    4) Once in a while,  the built-in wireless adapter is not found and I have to reinstall the driver.  Also the diagnostic tool has had to reset my adapter on an increasing basis.
    5)  I had my hard drive replaced in December 2014 and my system restored from the System Restore disks that came with it when I bought the laptop.  Even though I've been online on an infrequent basis it worked just fine for a while. Now that
I've been online a bit more I'm having the same issues again.
Below are my attempts at trouble shooting so far but I still have not been able to consistently resolve my DNS issues
     1) Restarting my adapter
     2) Turning off my laptop and removing the power supply for 5-10 minutes before turning it back on.
     3)  Using the IP Config in Command Prompt
         ipconfig /flushdns
         ipconfig /registerdns
         ipconfig /release
         ipconfig /renew
     4) Using the NetSh reset in Command Prompt and restarting my laptop
         netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
         netsh winsock reset
         ipconfig /flushdns
         [restart laptop]
     5)  Configuring the TCP/IP in several settings
Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), and then click Properties.
I have used the following settings:
           a) Obtain an DNS server address automatically
           b) OpenDNS
               208 67 222 222
               208 67 220 220
           c) Google DNS
               8 8 8 8
               8 8 4 4
     6) Updating the driver for my Intel Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6250 AGN and Intel Centrino(R) WIMAX 6250 from the Intel website previous having my laptop wiped clean in 2014.  It still did not resolve the issue.  My laptop
manufacturer as not come up with an driver update for my adapter since 2010.  I haven't tried to update the adapter driver from Intel's website since having my laptop repaired due to the fact that Intel strongly recommending using the manufacturer's updates
instead and frankly it didn't make much of a difference when I did it the first time.
     7) The last one I've tried as of today is going into Services and changing the start up type to automatic for the following:
Computer Browser [changed from manual to automatic]
DHCP Client [already set to automatic]
DNS Client [already set to automatic]
Network Connections [already set to automatic]
Network Location Awareness [changed from manual to automatic]
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) [already set to automatic]
           Server [already set to automatic]
TCP/IP Netbios helper [already set to automatic]
           Workstation [already set to automatic]
...and I'm still having DNS issues.
My only guessing are that my laptop came with a lemon adapter that needs to be replaced, some advanced setting(s) that I'm not aware off, or my firewall/anti-virus is interfering. I've used Symmantic Anti-virus and Firewall in the past and currently
Avast Anti-Virus with Microsoft Network Firewall.  I've had DNS issues with both anti-virus/firewall set ups.
Below are the results from the diagnostics and tests that I've ran.

This is the second HP printer that I am trying to configure that is doing the same darn thing.  I thought the first one was faulty, so I exchanged for a slightly different printer.  This one has a control screen, so I KNOW that it's on the network.  And I KNOW my computer is on the network, or I wouldn't be able to write this.
But they refuse to talk with each other.  SO frustrating.  I'm ready to give up on HP.

Found the problem.  HP printers don't support AC Wifi.  That would have been nice to know before I wasted 4 hours on 2 printers......

  • All DMG files "device not configured"??

Alright, this just did start happening. All the dmg files that i try to open, i get the same error. A warning box comes up, and it says, "The following disk images failed to mount" Then it lists the name of the device, example..."vlc-0.8.5.dmg"...and then shows a reason, which is, for all of them, "device not configured". I also get errors when trying to update to the newest os x as well. Anyone know what to do?

    HELP!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    I've mis-read your post, had similar issues to the person who wrote the original querie, copied these items;
    /System/Library/Extension.kextcache
    and
    /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kernalcaches/
to my desktop, removed them from their folders and restarted. Well, tried to restart.
The grey screen came up with the spinning gear and apple logo, then black text over laying that saying something about a stack error. I can't start my machine at all, not even from the OSx disk. It gets to Preparing Installation and keeps on spinning!
If any one can help I'd be eternally grateful. I can't believe this has happened!
    Cheers

  • Cisco Works "Devices not configured in ACS"

    Hi!
I have instaled Cisco Works ver. 4.3.1
I have added using the Device Discovery, my devices. Some of them where not configured already on ACS with the loopback address, that was the one on the discovery configurations. Because of that, i could not manage those devices, althoug i could authenticate on them. I then updated the ACS with the loopback address, and configured the router's to authenticate using the source-interface of the loopback.
The problem is that i keep not being able to manage this devices on the cworks, because the are still as "Devices not configured in ACS".
    Can anyone help me here?
    Regard's
    Miguel Amaral

    Hi,
This happens, when you integrate the ciscoworks with ACS and Router/switches not configured with ACS. Try to reconfigure the device in ACS, try removing and adding it again in common services...Try for a single device and check it out... Try stopping/starting cw services after that // net stop crmdmgtd, net start crmdmgtd. Revert with the results..

  • Device not configured?

    hi
ive recently downloaded firefox 2.0 and some openoffice onto my ibook, but when I try to launch the .dmg files i get a 'device not configured' error message. can anyone help? apologies if this is far too easy.
    thanks in advance
    john

Not sure about FireFox specifically, but .dmg files should open and expand/mount automatically when you double-click on them. Make sure FireFox completely downloaded the file, and use Get Info from the File menu to check permissions to make sure you have read/write access to the file. If that doesn't work, try launching Disk Utility to see if it will recognize and mount the file from there, or see if you can verify the CheckSum (basically make sure the file is not corrupt).
    Other than that, I'm stumped.

  • Open Error 6: Device not configured

I recently had my hard drive replaced and restored to factory settings. I then used a time machine backup and the Migration Assistant to get everything I had back to where it belonged.
Things worked for a day or so, but with a few crashes here and there. Yesterday, I tried to use iTunes and kept getting an error message about the database (-50, unable to mount database). The problem is that the whole system would freeze and I had to shut down and restart every time. Sometimes I could load the OS, sometimes not. This morning I ran Disk Utility to verify the disk (it passed) and the permissions. When I tried to repair permissions, I got hundreds of messages like this : "Open Error 6: Device not configured on" and then a list of paths, such as "System/Library/Perl/5.10.0/darwin-thread-multi-2level/auto/POSIX/getgrgld.al", and "System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/share/ri/....." etc. Literally hundreds of those messages.
Does anyone know what this means? And how should I fix it?!?
    Thanks!

I'm going to suggest that you ask in the Snow Leopard forums here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=263
This is likely a system software error, and the SL gurus that hang out over there might have suggestions for you.
    Good luck!

  • Configurator 1.2 message AppleTV device not responding

I'm working with Apple Configurator 1.2 to apply a wireless profile to a new AppleTV. Configurator won't let me apply the profile without selecting Latest for the iOS, and when I do select Latest and apply the profile, the iOS package seems to be expanded, checked, installed, but then the AppleTV starts blinking faster and Configurator indicates that the AppleTV 'device not responding' and the wireless network configuration is not applied. So this worked in the previous version of Apple Configurator, but seems broken, at least for me, in version 1.2. Is anyone else having this problem, and if you found a way to work around it, what was your solution? Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you in advance.

Sent feedback from the in-app option in Configurator and was sent the solution:
I believe you are hitting the 'recovery mode' issue with the latest Apple TV hardware. You must connect power to the device before connecting the USB.
    1. Connect power to the device (USB must be disconnected from device)
    2. Connect the USB cable to the device (after the AppleTV starts blinking, indicating it is booting)
    3. Setup the prepare pane to install the profiles you want. Make sure that:
    * Supervision is OFF

  • Disk Utility Restoring Error - Device not Configured

    Hi all,
A mate has given me a USB flash drive that doesn't work. I tried to create an backup image using Resuce Pro from SanDisk and it came up with a NDIF file. What I then did was partioned an external hard drive and restore using the image as source and the new partition as destination. 2 seconds later an error comes up saying restore error, could not validate source - device not configured. Am I the only one that has this problem or have I done anything wrong during the process?
    Cheers,
    Keefe

NDIF is an obsolete format. You'd probably have to convert it to some kind of DMG first (Images > Convert.)

  • Aperture: Will not import images from a device connected to my macbook pro USB port

so i've scanned and scanned many iscussions and came up with no answers to my problem and i know there must be a simple solution. why can't i sync my photos anymore and why are some of my previews missing? from my iphone even though they are ON my iphone just not in the previews? what am i missing?? is there help out there in the ether world??
    thanks

Need more info :-) .  What problem are you trying to solve?  In what way is the behavior of Aperture different from what you expct?
"Preview" means something specific in Aperture.  Is that what you mean?
What photos are you trying to sync?
You mention "import" in your subject but not in your message.  It is not possilble to provide good advice without knowing what you are asking.
Ask for clarification if you don't know what "Previews" are, or what "import" means.  Don't worry about asking -- Aperture is a very complex and difficult program.

  • [Desktop] Every grid view should have an option for a vertical listing

For example the Artists screen under Your Music, and albums displayed on an artist page. Grid views are kind of pretty if you like colours. They're pretty awful for finding a particular thing by name. For example if I am looking for Infected Mushroom
