Import contacts with addresses

My addresses did not import with my contacts.

I'd an old iMac 10.4.11. My daughter offered me her macbook 10.5.8. I transfered all files (migration) All work fine, excepted the old adressbook. When I open it in my macbook, it says that it cannot work with 10.5.8.
For secutiry, I transfered it in an external disk.
What can I do ?

Outlook 2011 problem syncing contacts with address book

I am aware that Lion has broken the sync ability of Outlook 2011 with Address Book. Hopefullly this will be fixed at some point.
So my problem is that I have decided to use a workaround to get my Address Book contents into Outlook 2011. I am not concerned with further syncing at this point. I just want to get my addresses into Outlook and hope a better fix is offered at some point.
About the only way I could figure out how to do this was to export my Address Book as vCard. I then imported the vCard file into Gmail and then exported that as a CSV file. It contained 550 addresses. I opened it in Excel and it contained 550 rows. Great so far.
I then Imported into Outlook 2011 and chose import a text file. When the mapping window opened, it showed over 890 files instead of 550 and the fields were not mapped correctly. I could not complete the import because it was so screwed up.
So I'm back to square one and very frustrated. There must be others who have the same issue and maybe have figured out a way to do this. Please help.

Import contact with photo from google

How Do I import contact with photos from google to iCloud?
I uses iPhone6 , 6+ , iPad Air all iOS8.1 and Mac Air Yosemite
I uses google contact with photo all but I need to export all contacts to iCloud but after I imported the photo not have any more. How should I do to import all contact with photo from google?

The thumbnailPhoto attribute is for an octet string, so I can see why that would not work as it should be essentially a byte array (or a binary blob holding the JPG/GIF), and that is what is expected when importing that attribute.

You should have signed in with that address in the first place, but there is a workaround: go to System preferences>Mail, Contacts@ Calendars and add your @me.com address as an account there.

Syncing Google Gmail Contacts with Address Book and iPhone Contacts

Can anyone recommend a good way to sync Google Gmail Contacts with the Address Book on the Mac and with Contacts on the iPhone?
I tried using ABGMerge, but could not get it to work so and am looking for other options. Thanks.

The Plaxo 3 non-pubic beta application currently supports only Mozilla and FireFox 1.5 and Internet Explorer 6. Safari support, and support for updated OS X thrid-party browsers, has not yet been released. To say that there are some anomalies and visual artifacts with Safari 2, would be an understatement. But, then, I often find this to be the case with beta—particularly, pre-public beta, software.
The current release—build 356—supports these 'sync points:'

• MSN and WIndows Live
• Outlook

• Windows Mail

The verdict at the moment: contact synchronization performs as it always has with Plaxo. Calendar synchronization is clearly not yet ready for prime-time, even to the Plaxo 3 web interface itself.

Someone was helpful awhile back and told me that if I selected all emails in Mac Mail (within a folder), I could send them to address book. Basically I want to send all contacts from a folder in Mac Mail over to address book in an organized fashion. I did the export but now I don't know how to find the new contacts in address book. It just lumped in the new contacts with the others....
Is there a way to organize address book by date added (contacts)? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this? I tried dragging over the emails into a group folder in address book but that didn't work.... Thanks!

Smart folders aren't real folders, just sort of Aliases that contain certain criteria in th whole thing.
Like you could make a Smart folder that containd names that had b in the name, that fake folder when clicked on would look like it cantain those that have b in the name, but just really points to only those.
Experiment a bit with them, you can delete them without alarm because it's just a separate DB of them.

Importing contacts with outlook

Sorry to ask, but I am new to the iPad and I am having problems setting it up to work with iPhone or even my computer.
Wish Apple had spent a few more minutes with me after the check cleared... to set it up

When you connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and select it on the left-hand side, on the Info tab that should appear on the right you should be able to select where you want to sync contacts from :
You can sync contacts with applications such as Mac OS X Address Book, Yahoo!Address Book, and Google Contacts on a Mac, or with Yahoo! Address Book, Google Contacts, Windows Address Book (Microsoft Outlook Express), Windows Vista Contacts, or Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010 on a PC. (On a Mac, you can sync contacts with multiple applications. On a PC, you can sync contacts with only one application at a time.)

Question about synching gmail contacts with address book

I recently discovered that it is possible to synch gmail contacts with apple addressbook. I also found out this feature only works if you have an iphone or an ipod touch. Unfortunatly, I don't have either. I then discovered there was a work around for this:

While syncing my google contacts with address book application on my macbook air I accidentally deleted directory services group on the left. How to get it back? Now I am unable to sync my contacts either with google or with icloud.

Add them back in Contacts/Preferences/Accounts. Use the + sign at the bottom.

Importing Contacts to Address Book... from e-mail accounts!

I have been a hotmail user for a long time, and basically all my contacts or on my hotmail account. But am moving on, and i am using my gmail account now through apple's Mail. so i would like to import my contacts from hotmail to Apple's Address Book...

While the app imports and exports various formats, it is also able to scan Apple.Mail's folders regarding TO, FROM, CC and BCC addreses.
Look at the 'Data Sources' tab and find the 'Import from Apple.Mail' section. Click on 'Choose' and choose a mailbox to scan. Finally, select which types of addresses you are interested in.
The scan process is quite fast: The app scans roughly 200 emails per second on a CoreDuo iMac.

Syncing contacts with address book

Just bought an Iphone 4 and wanted to sync all the contact from my old Nokia 6300 with my new Iphone. Synced the nokia with my Macbook using Isync, no problem. However all the phone numbers are labeled as "other" in the Mac Addressbook. Then when I sync my Iphone with my Macbook using Itunes all the phone numbers in my Iphone are also labeled as "other" which is really annoying and ugly. Is there a way to open an export of my address book (the .abbu file) in Excel or something so I can quickly edit all my contacts in stead of doing all the vCards one by one? So I can set labels of mobile to mobile and work to work etc...

Open Address Book on your Mac, select the All Contacts group (if you have multiple groups), click on a single contact, press Command-A to select All Contacts, go to File>Export>Export vCard and save this file on your desktop. Then import the file you just saved to your contacts on icloud.com as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfba7399f.
