Import & conversion to .dng issue

When I import .CR2 (Canon RAW files) into LR4 and convert them to .dng I get a yellow cast and all of the settings have changed. I can use "Reset" and it gets the original back. I have not changed any import settings-any ideas?

Just found out, that if you in the develop mode selects "copy before's setings to after" then the damage is restored. It is almost like LR is looking at the alteration it has done when converting to the DNG as a user requested operation (not the dng conversion but the alteration of colours and so forth)
This doesn't particually make be comfortable using the DNG instead of Canons CR2.

  • Plans to enable import of Cinema DNG (RAW) files from the Blackmagic POCKET Cinema Camera

Are there plans to enable import of Cinema DNG (RAW) files from the Black Magic POCKET Cinema Camera into Adobe Premiere Pro CS6?

There won't be any new features introduced in CS6, only some bug fixes if ever. All new features go into CC. Rumour has it that Camera RAW will be added into PrPro (sooner or later).
Off topic question: have you tried to convert BMPCC CinemaDNG files into DNG via Adobe DNG Converter? Resulting files are about 15% larger, so I hope that is what constitutes uncompressing them and making possible to import into PrPro CC natively (I'm not on CC, hence can't test, but I'm curious).

so user dont want to enter following conditions in the PO as these condition's rate are changes everytime. And at the time of PO creation user is unaware of these condition's rate.
Normally we don't enter rate but %, which is constant & which is always known w.r.t. Material & Standard Customs Law, So there is NO Question of entering rates, % can be mapped with MEK1 & Foreign Vendors which flows automatically
He wants to put total customs amount directly
Normally User always demand as per there comfort, but as a consultant you have to say the standard Imports process, For more comfort if they want they have the full liberty to consult SAP. So In a nutshell they have to follow the proposed Imports cycle & there is no other option then following the Standard Imports Process, Also you can get Lots of Post regarding the Indian Imports cycle in SCN Forums.

  • RAW + old photoshop generated .XMP file conversion to DNG

I have a set of camera raw files (.mos) and .xmp side car files that were generated in photoshop several years ago. I am thinking about converting all of the files and side cars to DNGs because Leaf Capture software is no longer being updated.
Before I do I want to confirm that Lightroom can read both the raw AND the corresponding side car files and convert them into single dngs. I also want to know if the .xmp information is extractable after the dng is created in the same way that the raw/original file is extractable.
I've been trying to test lightrooms ability to read .xmp files on my own. I added a .mos file in a folder with a corresponding .xmp file and a .mos file in a folder without a corresponding .xmp file. Lightroom reads similar adjustment information for both images but only generates a preview that more closely resembles a finished retouched .PSD of the added .mos file that does not have the .xmp file in the folder it was added from. I'm at a bit of a loss regarding how to proceed.

Upate on situation: I followed up with the individuals that created the files and found out that the side car files were in fact generated by leaf and not photoshop. i tried another test and it looks like the folder with a .mos +.xmp file is now reading differently than a .mos file by itself. both suggest that changes were made to the files with modulations in the "develop" section of lightroom.
You can view the XMP file data in Notepad or any other text editor, just select 'Open' and select 'All File Types' so you can see the XMP files. It should be possible to store both C1 and LR develop settings in the same XMP file, but there may be some naming conflcts. Review of an XMP file with both C1 and LR develop settings saved to it should show the two different develop data sets in Notepad. Conversion to DNG should save ALL XMP data, but you may lose some of the (edit) Leaf proprietary data that may be in the raw file's metadata. For now I'd hold onto the raws + XMPs, even if you do convert to DNG.
You can use EXIFtoolGUI to examine the metadata in the new DNG files and compare it to the original XMP file's data. My Canon DSLRs appear to have all of the manufacturer's 'Makers Notes' copied over from the raw file into the DNG metadata.

how to import 4k cinema dng on premier pro 2014 ?

    Wow.  Thanks Colin.
When I follow your approach, I don't get the same "sequence preset" dialog box popping up.
FU question, though, the motion is frequently jagged.  Is there a way to smooth out/increase the quality of the rendering?    I have 16gb ram, Mac Pro.   which is able to handle iPhone video rending fine in quicktime.   (I've tried rendering for "performance" and "memory" but both seem to produce, eh results.).

  • Journal Import fails with EC12 issue

Journal Import fails with EC12 issue, we knew the AR credit memo transactions causing this issue have distribution lines with accounted_dr value as zero and entered_dr as non zero, same is the case with accounted_cr and entered_cr.
Issue is with the Credit memos generated out of iReceivables that are creating distributions with null amounts when applied on invoices with rules. Null amounts are on REV/UNEARN distribution lines. Applied patch# 12957348 as suggested in metalink and we noticed more number of such transactions after patch application.
Any pointers are really appreciated. We have over 5000 such lines and is not possible to clear them manually and since these CM's are phased, we are sure to see them again with this issue till it is resolved. Note# 285995.1 didn't help either.
We are on 11.5.10.2 and 10g database.

  • LR2.3:  Question on Import from Disk / DNG conversion

Hi... I notice that when choosing FILE/ Import photos from disk" There are 4 choices under file handling
    1. Add photos to catalog without moving.
    2. Copy photos to new location and add to catalog.
    3. Move photos to a new location and add to catalog.
    4. Copy photos a Digital Negative (DNG) and add to catalog.
My RAW files are already on an external hard drive and organized in labeled folders so I wish to "Add photos to catalog without moving"... but I ALSO want to convert these RAW images to DNG files on import. What do I choose to apply the "add the photos to catalog without moving" AND at the same time convert those files from RAW to DNG files on import?
Will this add the newly created and imported DNG files into the existing folders alongside the original source RAW files?
Under import preferences / Import DNG creation, Is it best to leave the Compressed (Lossless) option checked or unchecked?
What's best for preview creation? Minimal or 1:1. I will not be working on many images at once so speed is less valuable than disk space.

Bennett, this is how I do it. Choose File/import from disk. Select raw images to import. Select last option, "Copy photos as DNG & add to catalog." Under "copy to", click down arrow, and browse to the folder containing original files. In the "Organize" window, select "into one folder" if you want them to be in the same folder as originals. Select "by original folders" if you want LR to put it in a sub-folder that it will name. Leave Compressed (Lossless) checked. There is also an option to re-name the files if you prefer. As for previews, Minimal will import much quicker, but LR will build larger previews later. I have tried it both this way, and importing as 1:1. I do not see much difference in working with files that were imported as 1:1 or minimal. LR seems to take about the same time to stop "working" on it before I can.

  • Canon CR2 to DNG issue. DNG files too big!

I'm experiencing what I believe may be a few issues whilst converting from Canon CR2 RAW files to the Adobe DNG format.
    (Camera is Canon 5D Mk2)
For example, I have a folder containing CR2 RAW files which size = approx' 410MB. But when I perform the DNG conversion to a new folder, the total file size of that folder containing the converted DNG images is over 800MB! Does this sound correct?
I thought converting to DNG reduced the overall file size of the RAW image somewhat?
For info, I'm using the latest version of the converter with no JPEG preview or embedded original RAW file selected.
    THANKS

When converting to DNG, is "Embed original Raw File" selected?
If it is, it will double the size of the DNG file.
I have not seen any reason to select this option, and the only time that I have seen reference to it (in Better Digital Camera, I think), it was suggested that this option be turned off.

  • Develop settings lost after re-importing folder of DNG files

I've been using LR for several months, and - after getting accustomed to its peculiararities - love the program.
This evening I re-imported a folder of DNG files that I had previously removed from LR - using the "add" import option. When going to the Develop module, I noticed that my original develop settings were no longer applied.
Aren't these settings incorporated into the DNG files? How could they get lost? Are they over-written when re-importing the files?
I always backup my catalog before closing. Does the catalog backup contain the original develop settings for these DNG files?
I know I must have done something wrong! Please advise & explain. Thanks.

    Seven_D wrote:
Thanks. I do have autowrite to XMP checked. - I learned that lesson a few months ago!
I will see if I can use an older backup to recover the settings. I have never done that before, but I know where my catalog backups are located. If you can give some advice on that, I would appreciate it. I don't want to lose other DNG edits in the process.
Correct me if I'm wrong - but it appears that if I ever do want to remove a previously imported folder from LR for whatever reason - I should just edit the RAW files without converting to DNG. I know DNGs are more compact, but at least the sidecar files associated with the RAW files will always be there! This is more important to me than conserving disk space!
just try it on one or tow files to test. Also look at "Read Metadata from file" in the current catalog first with ine file to see if that helps. Did you have a Prest applied when importing like Zeroed?...... None is the best for importing files with dev settings already applied.
I use DNG exclusively and haven't experienced your issue so review your import settings as mentioned.

  • Import for runtime sharing issue - CS5.5 AS2.0

I would like to use export/import for runtime sharing option so I can reuse assets form one swf library in another timeline.
I found this tutorial that explains how to use it, there is also a download link to see the example working:
    http://www.flashkit.com/tutorials/Tips_And_Techniques/How_to_u-FreshLau-1000/
I do I think exactly the same as it is there, but it doesn't work. Strange thing is that if you open main.swf from downloaded project, it works, but if you open the main.fla and publish it wothout any changes even, it will stop working.
I have also discovered this problem with runtime sharing option. I have set up my movie clip runtime sharing option from library assets properties to import, as it showen in the picture below...
but after I click "Ok" and wait apropriate time to proces it, and when I reopen the properties panel of that movie clip I noticed that it has changed "Import for runtime sharing" to "Export for runtime sharing"it self: In addition it also adds "Export for Action Script" which I definatelly haven't choose before.
    Any ideas anyone?
I gues this is some sort of a problem of flash newer Publish Settings incompatiobility with Flash MX 2004, in which this tutorial was made. although when you open it, you can see it is already stage is set up as AS2.0 and flash player 7. But I have also noticed, that once you open main.fla it is tagged with * symbol as it has not been saved. Anyway, the same occures when I build it from scratch in CS5.5 AS2.0.
I do not want to do it in AS3.0 because it apparantelly doesn't support attachMovie command.

    Hi Szymon,
Our flash team and a few other flash clients have experienced this issue.
It is detailed here in this thread:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4000804
There is no fix however and Adobe have not commented on the issue (via twitter @adobe_care or on the forum).  I contacted adobe support, paid for a support contract, reported the issue and pointed them to the thread but they wanted a video of it after many frustrating conversations (Did I mention that adobe support is -horrible-).  Our flash team never generate a movie though regrettably, they still experience it/deal with it.  It's frustrating to say the least but I am determined to get Adobe to say something about it.
Adobe make good products but getting support from them is like getting blood out of a stone.  I wonder how many people experience the issue but haven't reported it?

  • Conversion assistance : Goods Issue in the past

    Hello All,
Looking for some help for conversion of transactional data from Legacy.
Client wants to have the "goods issues in the past" to be converted to reflect the actual transactional data .
Anybody done anything similar in the past?
    Appreciate the assistance!
    CJ

in general any goods movement of valuated stock will create accounting ddocuments and hence effect finance.
Dont spend to much time to think about migrating historical movements, it is not possible.
if you plan such, then you would need to add all consumptions to your stock migration and reduce this by all past receipts.
As the movements are usually not stand-alone activities, you have to consider that you cannot perform a goods receipt without having the old (and already closed) purchase order/production order migrated.
further the goods receipt would recalculated the moving average price, so you would need to post all historic movements in sequence of their original entry. but this means you would as well need to post invoices, which will then lead to a second payment to the vendor (do you really want that)
all this for a statistical transaction like MC46?
If you are going to a new system, then a new time begins to start.
I guess you will have more important  problems around go live than a MC46 list.

  • DVCPRO HD720P50 conversion to SD Issues

I'm working in FCP with HD720P50 footage - the original files in qtime state HD720P25/50
The sequence settings are 960x720 25fps
I have exported the sequence as Qtime reference file using the sequence settings and then imported to DVD Studio Pro
I've also exported the sequence into Compressor and used Mpeg2 compressions
The issue I have is that the DVD version (SD) is heavily pixelated and blocky (whilst on the computer running from the ts folder looks fine)
If anyone can give me some advice to get the SD DVD problem fixed I would really appreciate it!
    Thanks
    J

I have had success with letting Final Cut do the SD conversion when Compressor doesn't give me the desired results. It can take a while but the end result is always better
I create a 16x9 SD sequence and put my HD sequence into the SD and then render with the proper SD settings. Export a reference or self-contained QT to create the DVD files in Compressor.
Compressor is a great program but the HD to SD conversion can be hit or miss.

  • Importing jpg and dng pairs-

With my M8 set for dng+jpg I canot find the jpg's after import. If I try to import from the file (which shows the jpg's to be present) LR tells me that the dng's are already there and does nothing. When I open the card it also shows the jpg's to be present. Can anyone enlighten me?

As you state there have been multiple threads on this since I have been using beta 3. I came across this situation when I was trying to compare how LR raw conversion compared with in camera JPG's. When I first tried to import both files into LR only the raw file was imported. I then separately imported the JPG file into the same folder.
What happened was that LR treated both files as if they were one which ment that LR was not able to distinguish the different extension. This resulted in any edits you made in the develop module with the raw file were also applied to the JPG when it was opened in LR and vice versa. Talk about confusion in trying to compare!!
I reported to Adobe as a bug but the reply came back that it was not considered a bug but it was how the program was designed and I would have to make a name change to one of the files or move the JPG's to a different folder.
I think Adobe should post this in the FAQ thread.

  • Batch convert Raw files to DNG via Library's convert to DNG issue

    I have LR 4.4 running on a Win 7 64 bit PC...
I selected 4 RAW files (CR2) to convert to DNG via the Library modules 'convert to DNG' and then delete the CR2 file.
It converted only the last of the 4 files and left the other 3 untouched as CR2 files.  Can LR not batch convert the RAW files in this manner??
    Dave

I tried again to convert the remaining 3 CR2 files to DNG by selecting the 1st file and shift clicking on the 3rd file in the film strip and then via 'Library-Convert photo to DNG.  I have Delete originals after conversion checked.
This time it converted the 1st file and left the other 2 unchanged.  It seems to perform the operation on the 1st file selected...the first time when I tried this on the 4 original files I had clicked on the last file and then shift clicked on the first on in the series.
    BTW...I have LR4.4, Win 7 64-bit, 16G ram, Pentium 7...
For what it's worth, I also noticed that when I "round-trip" a file to CS6 and then SAVE the file it should bring me back to LR with the new file placed next to the old one in LR.  Mine does not.  The new file is not shown and I have to synch and add photo's to have it show in LR.  Another issue...
Thanks for checking on your end.  I suspected LR should properly batch the conversion as it did for you and that I had an issue.  With the Nik suite and Perfect Effects 4 installed I'm hoping not to have to do a complete uninstall/reinstall...what a pain (sigh).
