Import Crash

Hello,
I have been experiencing a certain issue with Captivate 4.
The issue is that whenever I try to import any slides or even record (browser movement for example), the program crashes.
I re-imaged the drive but the problem persists.  I have narrowed it down to those specific modules themselves.  I have embedded swf content, voice, but I can't figure out exactly why it crashes.
Now, if I start from scratch the problem goes away.  I'm just hoping that I don't have to start from scratch when finished content can be picked through and recycled.
Error file is attached.

I'm not sure from your original post whether you are using Import to get the original folders into Mail or not, or whether you have your original Mail foder and preferences file backed up.
If you are, I wouldn't bother ever using Import to import from a previous backed up version of Mail provided you are using the same version of Mail.
I'd suggest:
1. Back up your current Mail folder:
Users/You/Library/Mail
and also the preferences file:
Users/You/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
(this contains all the mail server settings but NOT passwords)
2. Trash the existing Mail folder and preferences file (AFTER backing up) and drag your previously backed up Mail folder into the Library folder (see above) and the previously backed up preferences file into the Preferences folder (see above.
Then launch Mail.
You will have to enter passwords to each mail server, but other than that you should be at exactly where you were the last time you backed up (before the clean install or whatever).

  • Mediasource Organizer import crash at 1000 tra

I'm using the very latest version of Mediasource Organizer (5.00.20), and have found that it crashes consistently before I reach 000 tracks in the PC Music Library with:?"Faulting application ctimprtu.exe, version 5.0.5.0, faulting module msvcrt.dll, version 7.0.2600.280, fault address 0x000a6d." It doesn't matter what the track is - importing any new track into the library reproduces the problem. I have 999 tracks in the library at the moment ?Has anyone else seen this? Is there a fix (apparently not, if I have the latest version from the Creative site...)??

    holeinone wrote:
?If msvcrt.dll were really that buggy, I suspect far more applications than Mediasource would be failing... By the way, the version of msvcrt.dll in \windows\system32 is 7.0.2600.280
Do a web search for the error you are getting and you will see that a lot of other apps have problems with this exact same version of msvcrt.dll. Apologies for appearing to talk down to you in my reply but not many people in here have as much software knowledge as you so we have to give a reply that will be OK for all levels. PB

  • WIndows beta won't install / deinstall / repair after bookmark import crash

    All,
after installing the first beta on my (international) Windows XP system, Safari crashed when importing Bookmarks.
    It would not start thereafter.
I tried to de-install, which failed for some unnamed reason.
I now am unable to install beta 3.0.2, which aborts the installation process and instructs me to try later again.
Nothing, including none of the "repair" switches of msiexec, either removes the remains of the old Safari, nor allows me to install the new Safari.
Any help how I could force installation of the laters Beta, regardless of pre-requisites or checks?
    Greetings,
    - Thomas
    Centrino Duo   Windows XP Pro

    Hi Thomas,
Ths installer cleanup tool is not the best as depending on your user rights on the system and a few other factors it will only show a subset of the programs installed (as you've found).
In order to perform a full cleanup (detailed repair) of Safari you can try this from a command prompt:
    msiexec /fausmv {3F9EFA28-D2FE-44B7-8896-0B0FF8DF5517}
    or to remove completely use:
    msiexec /x {3F9EFA28-D2FE-44B7-8896-0B0FF8DF5517}
The top command tells Windows to Fix All files rewriting User files, Shortcuts, Machine files and rebuilding the Windows Installer Cache (the v option).
More detail can be found at Microsoft's website if you're interested: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314881
Feel free to post any error messages you may receive. It might also be a good idea to update to the latest version of Windows Installer (3.1 v2) from: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=84088
Having said all that, I cannot get Safari to even start once under Windows Vista ... It installs without event but when double clicked the disk does some whirring then the standard "Your application has crashed" dialog appears. Seems Apple are a long way off perfecting Safari on Vista.

  • Windows 7 64 Bit Import crash

I have a core i7 system with 6 GB of RAM running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I installed my copy of Lightroom 2 on my C: drive and updated to 2.5. When I click the import button, the program immediately terminates. If I use the menus, the import dialog appears but the program crashes.
I uninstalled 2.5 and downloaded Lightroom 3 Beta. I installed that on an external HDD (USB 2). When I click on import, the program immediately crashes. When I use the menu, the import dialog appears but there is a crash.
The crash is (endlessly) repeatable with two different versions of the program on two different disks. 2.5 worked happily with Windows 64 bit Ultimate so it looks like a Windows 7 compatibility issue - has anyone else encountered (and resolved) this problem?
    Sean

I removed the preferences file as directed.  I clicked on the 64-bit Lightroom icon.  It still crashed.  I removed the entire Preferences folder and noticed that a new preferences folder was created.  But Lightroon still crashed.  In the same Adobe folder I went to the Photoshop CS4 folder and found a "PSErrorLog.txt" file that tracks errors.  The error messages were similar, with the latest one reflecting my crash saying the following:
            2009:11:20 00:13:51 : e:\ps11\ps_11_win_daily_retail\20090218.r.523\photoshop\main\photoshop\interfaces\UTrackR esourceImp.h : 136 : REQUIRE failed
I have no idea what that means except something failed.  Maybe someone else knows what it means.
I've attached the log file in case it can help anyone.

  • Final Cut Pro Video Import Crash Problems

Whenever I try to import video files into Final Cut Pro X the program crashes. I've tried numerous formats and nothing is working. If it does pull the video in and lets me see it briefly prior to crashing, the footage appears shaky and with bright green lines running through it. It does not look like this if you play the clip outside of FCP. I've used FCP to make videos within the last year without this problem and have updated as well as uninstalled and re-installed the software to see if that would helped, but nothing has worked. I am stumped and my client is getting antsy for a finished product. Please advise.

I've had the same problem on both my laptop and my desktop:
    Laptop specs: 13" MacBook Pro (2012) / 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 / 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 / Intel HD Graphics 4000  513 MB / 450 GB Free space
Desktop specs: iMac (2009), Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.66 GHz / 296 GB Free space
I'm feeling like a tech moron though as I am not sure about finding this information, "Frame size, frame rate, video codec, audio codec, sample rate."

  • Excel Import crashes Numbers and DocsToGo

I believe this began after upgrading to the latest IPad update: Neither of my spreadsheet applications will import any excel file in any fashion. Numbers begins the import process and crashes halfway through. DTG does the same thing. Vie tried importing various sizes and excel file types.
Since this is happening in both application, I'm thinking it has to be something iPad os related?

    Thanks for your quick response.
I don't know what to say other than the problem that I had with numbers yesterday no longer applies. I can now open every .xls file with numbers that I have and they format properly. (I could also do this with the previous version so I thought that there was a problem with the 09 version.)
I still do not understand why I had the problem yesterday - the only change was a shutdown overnight.
    Thanks again,

If I go in and import individual files the audio imports fine, but video files causes it to crash. I have ran the latest updates. I use a Panasonic P2.  Any advice or help would be greatly apperciated.

  • Audible Password on File Import  Crashes Program

I have a new iMac and have iTunes and an Audible account. I have no problem downloading from Audible site to iTunes. However, I already have some files downloaded from audible previously and want to import them. I do the import routine, but every time I get to the point where the Audible username/password screen pops up, iTunes crashes and closes after about 5 seconds whether I try to enter any keystrokes or not. I downloaded iTunes ver 9 and the problem remains.
Any ideas on what is wrong?
    Steve

Problem solved. It had to do with file properties. I had file sharing set up on the computer from which I moved the files to read only, so the files copied as read only. Once I got the files out of read only mode, all was right with the world.

  • 11.1.5.5 cd import crashing

    Hello,
I just updated iTunes to 11.1.5.5 and wish now I didn't.  I am trying to import a CD (Queen:  Greatest Hits I,II and III).  It will import may two to three songs, then crashes.  I open up in safe mode, put cd in tray, iTunes crashes.
I have done the following before asking for help:
    - Checked CDs for scratches/blemishes.
    - Uninstalled/Reinstalled
    - Checked for updates on my computer.  All drivers good/up to date
    - Checked for viruses/malware.  All good.
    - Tried another CD, crashes as before.
    - I did try WMP and it ripped the CD, sorta...  I got tired of waiting for it.  Extremely slow read.  The first cd is 59 minutes, (17 songs).  Took WMP over an hour and a half to get a little over half way done.
I'm at my wits end.  I don't understand why iTunes is getting worse.  I know that iTunes is crashing even without the cd.  It starts up and after a minute or two, ends up not responding.  Is anyone else having this issue?
I tried the page that everyone seems to post on here about safe mode and followed each step.
    P.S, the cds do work.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Cheers,

  • P2 Import crashing system

Can anyone tell my why using my log and transfer window to import P2 clips causes such frequent crashes in my system?
The only plug-ins I can think of that might have an effect (but I'm no expert) is one I have installed from flip4mac which allows me to use quicktime to export to wmv files, and I have virusbarrier installed.

  • IMovie 08 Import Crashes After a Few Minutes

I recently upgraded to iMovie 08 on a iMAC G5 1.8mhz with Leopard. When I try to capture video to iMovie from my digital converter box it crashes after a few minutes, where as this never happened with iMovie 06 when it was running on my Tiger machine. Plus, whenever I start iMovie 08 it takes 10-20 minutes to generate thumbnails of video that I have just imported. What is this? iMovie 06 didn't do this!

    Hello Donkey Punch,
this doesn't really give you an answer, but hte same thing happens to me every once in a while when importing from camera. The import simply stops at a certain point - sometimes the camera keeps playing, sometimes it stops altogether.
I have never been able to fix this and, as it occurs very randomly and never at the same time spot, I have simply learned to live with it: rewind a few seconds, then start importing again. When capture is done, simply cut the few seconds of extra footage.
I guess it could be because of dropped frames and the overall speed of your machine (and mine) could be a factor in that, as capturing is obviously a time-sensitive operation .... bit of a shot in the dark here ...:-)
    hope this helps (a bit)

  • MP4 Import Crashing Premiere Pro CS4

I am trying to make a short promo video for my university snowsports club. Just started using Premiere Pro so not sure if this is an obvious mistake im making. I've started a project and had imported 2 avi files that are from after effects, an mp3 and some sound effects. the first MP4 i imported was fine, its approx 400mb and was filmed on a Gopro headcam. i then tried to import a smaller MP4 into the same project. This crashed Premiere and has each time ive tried. i have tried importing other MP4's most are fine apart from a few much larger files. I have also split the origanal file down into 50mb chucks but this crashes to. i have also tried importing them into a new blank project with no sucsess. I thought the file might be corrupt but they play fine and After Effects will load and play them. I have a AMD X2 Dual 4200, with 2Gb of ram running Windows xp. i have also tried moving the file to different locations and renaming it.

  • Pro Import Crash

I have used after Effects for Some time. I usually import Avid AAF for final colorization and effects. I recently updated to Creative Cloud. I just tried to import a Wedding that I did . When starting Pro Import CC crashes completely. I have to restart. CS 6 also does not work, but at least the program does not crash. I have NOT updated to Yosemite due to Not wanting to upgrade during a project and the fact that only recently was a version of Avid available to do this. It will allow me to open old projects that were imported this way. I use a new Mac Pro with 16 GB of ram. I also have Matrox2 MINI card for color correction on a NTSC monitor. This had worked well on CS 6 recently. The deadline for the Wedding is Feb 14. Thanks for any help in advance.

  • Video import crashes iTunes 7.5

I just bought a new PC and I'm trying to get my iTunes library set up again.
I backed up iTunes to about 7 DVDs from my old computer, but I really don't want to change the way all my music is organized if I just shove in the restore disc. I've had a file/folder structure I've been using for 10 years for my MP3 files and I'm not willing to give that up.
I imported all my straight MP3 files without issue, as well as the folder "iTunes Music" from the old PC that I copied over to this PC.
The problem comes when I try and import my videos. I know for a fact these video files are good and in the proper format, they worked on my old PC.
When I select the videos folder, it imports about 50 videos then dies on a certain file. I've removed that file from the folder and tried it again. I got most of the videos to import but there are a few that are causing issues. As soon as the folder import hits one of the "bad" videos, iTunes just crashes out.
Like I said, I know these video files are good as they are on my 80GB Classic right now.
I did upgrade to iTunes 7.5 right prior to importing all the videos, which could have something to do with it. I'm not sure at this point but it's kind of frustrating. First of all I'm going to have to do a complete sync with the iPod again, and now I'm going to lose some of the videos I had before on it.
Upon exiting iTunes 7.5 I also frequently get a message that iTunes has stopped responding.
    Any ideas?

Same here, though on XP. Have tried cleaning registry, reinstalling, deleting preferences. Created a new user with no library and I have the problem there, too, so it's not the library.
Is there no one to call about this??

  • IPhoto 9.5.1 - Hangs on any movie file import - crashes -help!

    Hey There Everyone!
I'm working in iphoto 9.5.1 and Mavericks and have been for weeks.  However, since my upgrade to Mavericks I've had no luck importing any movie file (.MOV,.mp4) into my library from either my iphone or my T2i Canon. Photos are fine. Videos are not.
I have browsed the boards here and have done the following:
HELD DOWN ALT/OPTION & created a new library.   IMPORT STILL HANGS AND CRASHES when trying to import videos
CREATED NEW USER and new library - IMPORT STILL HANGS & CRASHES
HAVE repaired permssions, then  deleted app, receipts and re-installed from APP store. Still crashes.
Photos import without any problem. If I have a mix, it imports the photos up until the video, then it's the spinning beach ball of death.
I get a "not responding" (even after an hour) and then I force quit. On re-opening I get: "A photo ahs been found in the iPhoto library that has not been imported. Would you like to import it? "   This is always the movie file and when I do this it hangs again. I end up saying no and it's put into a .recovered folder just outside my library.
All other functions seem to be working in Iphoto. Any help anyone has would be great!
    Thanks!
    Jon

Open the iPhoto Library as Terence Devlin as shown in this screenshot
and move the contents of the Auto Import folder
to a folder on the Desktop. Launch iPhoto and check to see if that message has gone away.  If it has you can try importing the files from the folder on the Desktop again.
