Import Drum Sequence from Logic

Hi Folks
I've got a question:
In Logic Pro I have created a drum sequence which consist out of 4 tracks, each containing 5 32-step patterns programmed with ultrabeat. In addition, each track uses its own drum kit in ultrabeat. I did this so I can easily manage plugins for each track (the tracks being 1: Kick; 2: Snare; 3: some fizzy thing; 4: Scratch Noise on offbeats)
Now my question. I want to import this into Mainstage to trigger it with the push of one button. My aim is to manipulate the seqence's tempo via Tap Tempo. Is this possible? If so, how do I do this. My previous research has been futile.
So far, I have only been able to trigger a drum loop, which I have programmed in ultrabeat in Mainstage. This seems to be fairly limited.
Solutions anyone?

Hi!
Thanks for your reply! But I think I have solved my problem now.
In MainStage I have 4 ChannelStrips now (1 Kick, 2 Snare, 3 UpbeatNoise, 4 Some Noise on every 16th note), which allows me to adjust the volume for each instrument instantly and live. Also, this gives me the liberty to program each instrument with its own resolution (eihter 1/8, 1/12 etc.).
Now the tricky part:
My beat consists of two parts, that means I have to change from first to second part manually. On each ChannelStrip, part one is programmed on C-1, part two is programmed on D-1.
So I need four buttons for part one, each set on ONE key on the keyboard and internally redirected to C-1 on the specific ChannelStrip (1 to Kick, 2 to Snare etc).
And then another four buttons for part two, each set on another SINGLE key on the keyboard and internally redirected to D-1 on the specific ChannelStrip.
So I've got 4 ChannelStrips now, each reacting on the push of one Button.
This is quite a tricky workaround, but it works.

  • How best import a sequence from PP2.0

    What is the best method to import one sequence from a project with many sequences in PP2.0? Do you need to import the sequence and all of it's assets (music, sound effects, clips) that are in the project panel, or just the sequence itself? I'm not sure how to do this. I want one of a dozen sequences to import into Encore, but not the other sequences. Should I export the sequence as a move/ISO?
    Thanks!

    Encore can't import a Premiere sequence. It will only import assets - DVD compliant MPEG files, or DV AVI files.
    My preferred method is to export out of Premiere as DV AVI, and let Encore do the transcoding. I like it's Automatic setting.

  • Trying to import XML score from Logic, cannot put XML into timeline.  Help!

    So, I composed a score for my shortfilm in logic, and have exported it in XML format. I can import it into FCP just fine, but when I try to put it in the timeline, I get an error message saying "Operation not allowed. You cannot nest sequences with different editing timebases."
    I did a search before posting this, but couldn't find someone with a similar problem. How can I get this to work? Thanks in advance!

    Obviously you edited your sequence in fcp in à different framerate than the sequence imported from logic.
    In the browser you can see in the frame rate column that both differ. Right?
    Does it work to open the logic sequence in fcp. In there select all. Command c to copy.
    Go to your final sequence and do command V?
    Otherwise is it possible to open the logic sequnce in fcp and change the framerate in sequnce settings.
    Otherwise is it possible to set a framerate in your logic project to the same rate as your fcp sequence and then re- export the XML ? (sorry, don't know the app)

  • Difficulty importing midi sequences to Logic Pro 8

    New user to Logic 8.
    Trying to import sequences from an external sequencer into Logic via midi.
    I assign the midi channel numbers as well as the appropriate sounds in Logic to the desired tracks. Arm the tracks to record. Hit play on the external sequencer to test input levels.
    All midi information from the multiple tracks of the external sequencer play on one track within Logic.
    Where am I going wrong?!?

    There is an option in your Project preferences->Recording->Midi->"split Multitrack recording to event channel" (translated from my german menue)->tick the little box and you should be fine.

  • What is the easiest way to mix and match drum samples from Logic software instruments

    I have been using Logic software instruments (EXS 24 drums kits) for a while. I know how to edit indiviual zones in a drum kit but I would like to know how to copy and paste multiple zones all at once from one kit to another so that I can create a hybrid ESX24 drum kit with my favorite snares, kicks, toms etc. Is there a good tutorial video showing how to do this?

    so that I can create a hybrid ESX24 drum kit with my favorite snares, kicks, toms etc.
    To my opinion the Environment "Mapped Instrument" object is designed exactly for what you want. You can load even different Software (drum) Instrument kits into say EXS, Addictive Drums, UB etc. Patch multiple cables to each Software Drum Instrument instance, open the Mapped Instrument and assign the pads "cable" outputs in the Cable column - this is one of the most elegant ways in Logic...

  • Importing PNG sequence from After Effects (or anywhere)

    From some reason when I'm importing a PNG sequence onto stage, it's loading all of the PNGs into one frame instead of distributing them into their own keyframes like it's supposed to.
    I've seen this problem posted before. Anybody have a solution for this?
    I've also seen that people have posted that Flash CS3 HATES After Effects PNGs....how bizarre....I'm starting to figure that out.
    Any solutions?

    Well now it's working. Hmmmm.Thanks Jim.
    Well, there's something you can do that accidently stacks them into one frame.....I guess I get one brain-fart per month....and I just used my quota.

  • How do I import key commands from Logic 9 to Logic X?

    I have downloaded key commands from a friend. They're very good and convenient and I would like to not set them all manually. That'll take a long time.
    So he just told me to download his key commands, and he showed me how to import them. However we couldn't export them. We think this is because we are using two different versions of Logic. He's using Logic 9 and I'm using Logic X. Is there a way to import his key commands or do we have to do it all manually?

    Hi
    You'll need to Export them from LP9, put that file on your Mac somewhere handy, then import into LPX (navigating to wherever you put  the LP9 keycommand file) Works fine here
    Looks like you may have done that, but the file you are trying to import has ".xml" on the end. Remove that so it's called "myname.logikcs"

  • IPhoto crashes when importing AVI sequences from Digital Photo camera

    I am attempting to use my IPhoto 601.
    I have a huge collection of Photos and many AVI sequences taken with my Digital camera (Canon G5).
    IPhoto crashes when I attempt to import the video sequences.
    I am getting frustrated here.
    Do you have suggestions?
    Should I wait for IPhoto version 10 ?!?!

    Are you importing them into iPhoto directly from the camera? If so, you might want to use Image Capture, found in your Applications folder, to import them instead. I download to a folder on my desktop called "Holding" and then drag the images and movies I want to keep into iPhoto.

    Hi...all,

    What DB version do you use?
    I don't know if dbms_metadata is present on oracle 9i but I'm quite sure that to_char(CLOB) is supported only on 10g, so you should find onother way to get the clob.
    You could also determine the extract ddl script with this script that runs on older versions as well:
    select 'CREATE SEQUENCE "'||USER||'"."'||
         SEQUENCE_NAME||'" MINVALUE '||MIN_VALUE||' MAXVALUE '||
         MAX_VALUE||' INCREMENT BY '||INCREMENT_BY||' START WITH '||LAST_NUMBER||
         DECODE(CACHE_SIZE,0,' NOCYCLE ',' CACHE '||CACHE_SIZE)||
         DECODE(CYCLE_FLAG,'N',' NOCYCLE ',' CYCLE ')||
         DECODE(ORDER_FLAG,'N',' NOORDER ',' ORDER ')||';'
    from user_sequences;What sql client did you use?
    I don't get empty rows with sql navigator and sql plus.

    Hi All,
    I've recently been having problems importing MP3 files into the arrange window. I thought I changed a setting and can't figure out what's up? Also I haven't been able to change my sampling rate to 48K or more. Mind you, I'm in transition right now moving to a different continent and my external drive is stored away so I'm playing and importing from my OS drive.Is that the issue??
    Thanks,

    Hi Francisco.
    Please re-post this as a NEW question. I just went over my last few posts, and here you are, and NO ONE has answered your question in three days. That is not usually the case in this forum.
    Cheers
    PS please give some details, what actually happens with the mp3 files? what is the actual problem? And also, what sound card / interface are you using?

  • Error importing img sequence from server (win 7)

    As the topic says I get an error when Im trying to import an image seq from our server, png seq.
    Does anyone have any idea why this happens? Worked perfectly on my iMac before but not on our win 7 computer.

    The file path to the footage cou;ld be too long for windows.  There could be illegal characters in windows in the file path.
    Those are two common offenders.

    I created a tutorial for frameserving from Premiere to Encore so that you don't have to do an intermediate render.

  • Encore having trouble loading my sequence from Premier Pro CC.

    I have made DVD's before with Premier Pro CC and Encore, but today it is stalling when I try to import my timeline from PPCC. It says," Import Premier Pro Sequence. Loading." It will stay on this for hours not moving. Is Something wrong with my Encore? Is something wrong with my sequence?

    You can't import a sequence from Premiere CC to Encore CS6, you have to export the video out of Premiere as a Mpeg2dvd and import the two files, one audio and one video, into Encore. Encore CS6 is the last of the Encore releases and will not directly link to any of the CC programs.

  • When I export a AAF file from Protools 9 and Import the file into Logic ProX the drum track is out of sync.  I created the drum loop using NI Maschine.  Has anyone else seem this??

    When I export an AAF file/project from Protools 9 using an external drive and import the AAF into Logice Pro X the drum track does not play correctly.  It is out of sync with the rest of the track.  I created the drum loop as a plugin using Native Instruments Maschine. Has anyone else had this problem??  Also how would I go about exporting the midi tracks from the Protools session.  The midi track does not show when the file is imported to Logic Pro X.  The midi data should export with the AAF file correct??

    Are you using any plugins in Logic?
    In Preferences/Audio  under the General tab, how do you have the plug-in-latency compensation set?
