Import Edge Animate

Can you import Edge Animate projects into Muse? If you can, please explain. Also when setting up your page, and you select 2 columes, can you use the 2nd one for like a frame for other pages to open into?
Thanks for help.

Hey brex2040,
Sure you can do that. Have a look at this tutorial here. Also, I have replied a similar question back in June, so have a look here also.
For your second question, I'm not sure but maybe you can give an example of what you expect to have there, but as long as you insert HTML code, surely you can insert an iFrame. (Just to clarify this a frame is part of a frameset, an iframe is an inline frame element and I think of a frameset as a kind of table layout, each frame being a part of a defined "grid", where iframes can be positioned using CSS, either way you have the option in Muse to "Insert HTML..." (under the object menu) so as long as it is code you can add that using the insert option or, simply paste the code in a page and will behave like the insert option.)
I hope this helps clarifying your question.
Cheers,
Cristian

  • Import Edge Animate compositions into In Design

Hi, how do I import Edge Animate compositions into In Design..? Cheers
p.s. perhaps i should have added: my main interest is to have the animate project imported to have it load in the adobe viewer for digital publishing. up until now I'd linked the html overlay from the standard Edge app. One of the things that caught my eye under the features for Edge animate was:
    Digital Publishing support
Import Edge Animate compositions into the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite with Adobe InDesign CS6, or into Apple iBooks Author.
How I proceed: as per the help/resources:
Publish as Animate Deployment Package (.oam)
Select this export option to create a package file of your project for use in other Adobe tools. The following tools support Animate Deployment Packages: Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (DPS), InDesign CS6, Dreamweaver CS6, and Muse.
    Select File > Publish Settings.
In the Publish Settings dialog box, make sure Animate Deployment Package is selected as the publish target.
Note or change the target directory.
    (Optional) Specify a poster image.
Click Save to save the publish settings, or click Publish.
    but all i get is
    Content generation error.
[Error: Invalid URL for Web Content Overlay]

Here is a walkthrough on Adobe Dev Connectings - http://www.adobemarketing.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/enhancing-your-dps-fo lios-with-edge-animations.html
The only difference in that walthrough is the reference to in the Publish Settings: in Adobe Edge Animate v1, its now called 'Animate Deployment Package' instead of 'Indesign/DPS'.

  • There is suppsoed to be an option to import Edge Animate objects into Dreamweaver. I have the latest

There is suppsoed to be an option to import Edge Animate objects into Dreamweaver. I have the latest version and I do not see that option.
    Windows 8.

And I am a member of creative cloud

Reading another post... here's what I had to do. Log into creative Cloud. >> Re-Download Edge >> It installs over the top of the existing Edge Animate install >> Then close everything >> go back into Creative Cloud >> Now it shows that Dreamweaver has an update. >> So I download the latest Dreamweaver>> Bam!
My guess is there is no reason to have the DW 12.2 if the system doesn't think you have the latest Edge Animate.
    Silly.
    Thanks again.

  • Import edge animate into after effects

Hi, is there any possibility to import a file that is created in edge animate into after effects?

I don't think you can as they are both two different technologies. Understand that an Edge Animate file is really an HTML5 file. The actual stage that is used when creating your Edge Animate file will also import an HTML file.
Maybe one of the Adobe mods can chime in to help.

  • Unable to Insert Adobe Edge Animate files into Dreamweaver CS6!

I have just tried the new Insert Edge Media feature in the new Cloud version of Dreamweaver CS6, but I can't get it to work!!
I have the option, but all the files in the Edge folder are unhighlighted (grey'd out) and I am unable to select anything Edge has published. I have noticed that the file extension has recently changed from .edge to .an with the launch of Animate.. Is this the problem?
Its a shame as its really quite tricky to put edge stuff into a web page at present..
    Any ideas?

Do you have an HTML5 web document open?
Below are instructions from the DW CS6 Reference document
    http://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/dreamweaver_reference.pdf
Import Edge Animate compositions | Creative Cloud
This feature is available for Creative Cloud members and point product subscribers only.
You can import Adobe Edge Animate compositions (OAM files) into Dreamweaver. The composition is placed at the location of the cursor. Dreamweaver extracts the contents of the imported OAM file to a folder named edgeanimate assets. You can change the default location in the Site Setup dialog.
    1. Ensure that your cursor is at the location where you want to insert the Edge Animate composition.
    2. Select Insert > Media > Edge Animate Composition.
    3. Navigate to the location in your computer containing the OAM file, and open it. The animation is placed at the specified location.
By default, the contents of the OAM file are extracted to the edgeanimate_assets folder. A sub folder with the name of the file is created. The contents of the OAM file are placed in the Assets folder under this location.
You can place Edge Animate Compositions into individual pages not part of any site. The files are extracted to the location of the page.
    Location of extracted files
         A. The edgeanimate_assets folder
         B. The folder created using the file name of the OAM file
         C. The Assets folder containing the extracted files
    4. Preview the inserted Edge Animate composition in a browser or in the Live View.
Change default location for extracted files
    1. Open the Site Setup dialog for your site.
    2. Under Advanced Settings, select Edge Animate Assets.
    3. In Asset Folder, modify the location for extracted files

  • Insert Edge Animate Compositions Unavailable

I don't have an option to import Edge Animate Compostitions in Dreamweaver's 'Insert' menu.
Was this an update to CS6 only available in the cloud and not to boxed versions?
I have CS6 master collection. DW 12.0 Build 5861 for Windows.

This feature of inserting Edge compositions directly into DW is available only to Creative Cloud subscribers (at the moment, since Creative Cloud brings in all the new features as soon as they're released). See here: http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/import-edge-files.html
However, you can manually insert your Edge compositions into your code with a div tag and a unique Identifier to the div, also adding a few supporting Edge files. You should publish your Edge composition for 'Web'. You can possibly decode the published index.html file source code after that. If you need more help doing this, do post back!

  • How do I include a drop shadow effect when I import an Illustrator vector into Edge Animate?

How do I include a drop shadow effect when I import an Illustrator vector into Edge Animate? It should be noted that I also have another effect (an extrude & bevel) applied which does copy over when I paste (or create an SVG and import) into Edge Animate. Any thoughts on why the drop shadow disappears but the extrude & bevel carries over?

Which version of Illustrator are you using?
In earlier versions of Illustrator it is not that easy to apply drop shadows with spot colours.
Another reason why it's always important to tell which version of AI … well …

  • Imported SVG from Edge Animate not rendering properly in Safari

    Hi,
We are having problems with an animation we created in Edge Animate, when we import it into Adobe Muse and then view it in Safari it becomes jagged and doesn't render properly.
It works perfectly on Chrome, Firefox and when using a retina screen.
We are using CC 2014 version now, previously when we used the old version of CC it worked on all browsers.
Is there any settings we need to change when exporting from Edge or importing into Muse?
Here is the link to the Animated SVG: Spining Wheel

Thanks vivekuma that seems to work now using the below steps.
    1. In "Position and Size" subsection of the property panel, note down somewhere, the values of "X", "Y", "W" & "H" of an svg file used on stage.
    2. In "Transform" subsection of the property panel, change the CSS Transform ScaleX and ScaleY from 10% to 100%.
    3. The above change will change the values for "X", "Y", "W" & "H". So, you have to set their values as you have noted down in the first step.
    4. Repeat the first 3 steps for every svg file used on stage.

  • Importing from Adobe Edge Animate to Existing Project

    Hello!
So I have a project that I have been working on in iAd producer for a iBooks widget and its coming along great.  However I am starting to bump into some limitations on the animation side of things that I can easily do within Adobe Edge Animate but am struggling with in iAd producer. Is there a way to import the animation from another project from a separate program like Adobe Edge Animate into iAd producer?  I feel like this should be straightforward since its all Javascript and HTML but I am not sure of the answer (been Googling for quite a bit and couldn't see a similar problem discussed).
    Thank you!
    Shawn

    Hello Shawn, Mark!
I'm trying something like you, playing with Adobe Edge and trying to use the JS and HTML file it produces with iAd Producer, but I can't get it work.
Have you finally got it working?

  • Pie chart created in edge animate changes to a square animation when imported into dps

I Have created an animated pie chart in edge animate and all works fine.
I then import into indesign and again all looks fine (even though at this stage it is a flat image) but when i export for dps and preview folio etc the animation turns from a circle to a square.
Anyone have any pointers or experinced the same problem etc?
    Cheers

The top image is a screen shot from edge and what it should be like, and the bottom image is of when you preview it in dps
Also when i view this in browser via edge animate and then preview it seems fine and as you can see on the bottom image when i import the oam into indesign again it is fine but then when I come to preview my 'folio it turns the animation from a circle into a square.
Also if its any help, the animation works perfectly if exported by epubs and viewed through ibooks.
    Thanks,

  • InDesign, Edge Animate and SVG import

I created an Edge animation whose ultimate destination is for an iPad app authored in InDesign. To avoid any font issues and to make this viewable in all iPad flavors (retina), I imported three lines of text as well as a text logo as SVG files from Illustrator in to Edge Animate. All fonts were converted to paths:
    http://www.ampersandmiami.com/edge/
The link above is what Edge created when publishing for web. It is indeed SVGs and they do appear as such in my desktop machine, on my ipad and on my iphone when I view it using Safari. When I pinch and zoom in, all is rasor sharp. Perfect.
    Here is the issue…
I unzipped the .oam file Edge creates for import into InDesign. Just to make sure, all my SVGs are there in the images folder. Edge did not create raster versions of any of them. So far so good...
But, when I place the .oam file in InDesign and preview the app on my ipad using the Aobe Content Viewer, the SVGs are rasterized. I zoom in and they are pixelated. Not good for retina ipads.
Is there a way of importing my Edge animation and retaining the SVGs as vectors and not making them rasters? Is this an InDesign limitation?
    Any thoughts?

Unfortunately not at the moment. This is a known issue with Edge placement in InDesign.
