Import entourage database into Outlook 2011 for mac

I set up a new macbook from a time machine backup. The main identity for entourage was from the original date of install. Unfortunately, I didn't notice that when I did my initial import so it brought in about two e-mails from 2 years ago but not the entire database. I did a new TM backup of the entire database and chose import in Outlook and it appeared to be going but when it indicated it was finished-- nothing new showed up. What did I do wrong?

Hi,
We can import .iaf files in Outlook 2010 using the following method:
Start Outlook 2010.
On the File menu, click Import and Export.
Click the Advanced tab, and then click Export.
Click Import Internet Mail Account Settings, and then click
Next.
Follow the Internet Connection Wizard to complete the import process.
But, I don't know if we can do this in Outlook for Mac 2011. Since this forum is for general questions and feedback related to Outlook for Windows, it's better to post Mac related issue to the forum for Mac:

  • How to import .iaf files into Outlook 2011 for mac?

I exported emails from Outlook Express (PC) to .iaf files years ago and now need to access them on a mac. I have downloaded Office for mac 2011 but can't work out how to import them into Outlook 2011.
Can it be done? Any suggestions would be hugely helpful.
    Thanks.

  • I can't import Microsoft Ofice X Entourage into Outlook 2011 for Mac

I'm trying to import tasks from Microsoft Office X for Mac Entourage into Microsoft Office fo Mac 2011 Outlook and I'm failing miserably. It seems like Outlook only wants to import from Entourage 2004, Entourage 2008, or an Entourage archive. Entourage X doesn't seem to be able to archive?

You may have to do it the hard way. Launch Entourage X (which of course requires booting into something other than Lion). For each folder you've created for your Inbox, create a folder on the desktop by the same name.
Click on the folders one at a time in Entourage. Highlight any email and then press Command+A to select all of them. Drag the emails out of Entourage to the folder by the same name on the desktop. Repeat for each email folder you have. Next, export your contacts and save that to the desktop.
Move or copy all of the data from the desktop to someplace you can get at it from Lion
Restart in Lion and launch Outlook. Create Inbox folders that match the names of the folders you created on your desktop. Drag the contents of each folder into the appropriate email folder in Outlook. Import your contacts.

  • Why are missing items when import pst files to Outlook 2011 for mac?

    Hello.
After installing Office 2011 for Mac I configured Outlook and it was allright.
But when I tried to import a pst file from the old laptop who has Office 2007, I found that in the Outlook 2011 Inbox I have only ~60% items comparative with the Outlook 2007 Inbox.
From Microsoft Office forums I've got an answer that there are indeed some reports with missing items when import pst in Outlook 2011 but the solution they gave me (create folders in Inbox before import) doesn't work.
Do you know something about this kind of problems?
Is it a feature in Outlook 2011 which automaticaly select/delete/combine items based on the similarity between them or based something else?
Have you an ideea how to finally use this macbook and in the same time all my old emails?
    Thanks.

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for this-yes, eventually, I do send/receive fine, once I've poppedd my passwords in.
I think you are right in that BT seem to be having unique server/login issues...at least this is what I've read elsewhere too.
Iroonically, this AM I opened my new Mac and have *not* been asked for passwords so perhaps the changes I made in the settings yesterday (keychain reset in Mac) and also changing it from smtp.....to mail.btinternet.com solved the issue...who knows? All I know is this last week I've nearly lost the will to live on more than one occasion, from the transition from PC Windows Live Mail to Outlook for Mac.

  • How do I sync iPhone contacts into Outlook 2011 for Mac

Here is the quick situation. I have an iPhone 5s and all of my contacts from my previous company (personal and professional) are on there. My old exchange profile is also there and I am afraid if I delete the profile, I will lose all my contacts.  My new company added thier exchange mail but none of my contacts are showing up in Outlook. I followed all the instructions to try and synch the contacts using iTunes but none of the contacts actually show up in iTunes to synch. I even turned off "contacts" in the iCloud settings. Help.

Oh, does it always do that ... on both the iPhone and the Mac?  I thought there might be some dependency on what account previously housed the contacts.  For example, if the contacts had previously been in an Outlook account, and you turned on iCloud, would that fact migrate the contacts?  I've never tried.

  • Scan to outlook 2011 for mac

When we scan to email using HP Director for our CM2320nf mfp Color Laser all in one, we need it to go to MS Outlook 2011 for Mac as default. There is no option in HP Director preferences to select Outlook. The only 2 options are Mail (Mac Mail), or Entourage but no option for Outlook.
Is there an updated HP Director sofware ot printer firmware that we need, so we can use Outlook as our default scan to email???

INFORMATION on Emailchemy from another Forum
I’ve found a way in which you can import Apple Mail into Outlook 2011 on Mac OS X Lion.
The software I’m running is Mac OS X 10.7.2 on a 2011 MacBook Pro.
You need to purchase an app called Emailchemy. It’s 29.99 for an individual license, and 49.99 for a family license. There are enterprise versions available as well.
Once you run the app, you need to do the following:
    1. Export all mailboxes from Apple Mail to your desktop (or any other suitable location on your computer). You do this by selecting the mailbox, and then clicking on “Mailbox”, and then “Export Mailbox”. Save the destination, and the file is saved automatically.
    2. Then you open Emailchemy and do the following:
    - click on “toolbox” in the bottom left hand corner
    - click on the second box on the top left hand called “advanced email conversion”
    - click on “add file”
    - select the folder (s) you just exported from Apple Mail (e.g. Inbox.mbox)
    Now here comes the trick
    - select format “apple mail 1.0 in the format option at the bottom
    - then 3 sub-folders will appear “info-p.list”, “mbox” and “table of contents”
    Select “mbox”
    - click on “convert” and choose a save file name. Choose the format “MBOX file (standard mbox)”
    - click on save
And you then have a folder created which Outlook 2011 recognizes and can import.
I just imported all my Apple Mail into Outlook 2011 – it works really well too – the formatting, attachments, etc are all there!
    Hope this helps.

  • Export Apple mail to Outlook 2011 for Mac

    Hi everyone,
I don't like the serie Mail/iCal/Carnet d'adresses from Apple, reason why I bought Outlook 2011 for Mac.
I succeed transferring all my contacts to Outlook.
I try now to transfer all my mails with their categories to Outlook too but I don't succeed.  I read some discussions on this forum but they are obsolete as they were with snowLeopard and Outlook 2011.  Would someone have good news for me and find a way to transfer all the mails with their categories from Apple Mail to Outlook 2011 for Mac ?
It would be nice and to receive a positive answer.
    Thank you for your help
    Renée

  • Synchronisation from iCal to Outlook 2011 for MAC

I am wondering when Apple will start supporting reminder/task synchronisation between iCal---iCloud---Office 2011 Mac. Even though new Office versions have been released Outlook 2011 will be around for some time and this would be something rather simple to create right?
The strange things is that it is supported for Outlook 2011 Windows.
So when I have dual boot I can see my Icloud reminders as tasks in Outlook but if I boot on Mac i can't see them in Outlook. How weird is that Apple...?
If Apple is not going to do anything about this, is there anything possible with a script perhaps that works between iCal and Outlook 2011 Mac? that would be a proper workaround at least.
Also curious actually as to why this functionality was not added.

  • Import Outlook 2011 for MAC database from a security copy

After many years using Outlook for Windows, I bought a MAC Book Pro and Outlook 2011 for MAC. I use it for mail, contacts, notes and calendar and yesterday I had a problem. Since then, when I click the Outlook icon what appear is the system completely void. Contacts, notes, schedules, mail folders, everything have disappeared. I have a security copy done on an external hard disk, where I find everything, but I don't know what must I do to recover the Outlook database. I would be very grateful for some help taking into account that I have minimal experience on iOS software.
    Thanks

    Hi Ryan,
I suggest double check the permission configuration.
And also check whether the reply button enabled.
    Thanks

  • Transfer emails from outlook 2011 for mac to Outlook 2010 for windows

    Hi,
I want to transfer emails from outlook 2011 for mac to outlook 2010 for windows.
Outlook 2011 exports mails only in olm format and there is no option to import olm files in outlook 2010.
I can drag and drop emails from outlook 2011 to a finder folder which saves emails as eml files. How can import eml files into outlook 2010.
    Please help

    Hi,
    Thank you for using
Microsoft Office for IT Professionals Forums.
    Base on the research ,
We can try the steps below to add the registry sub key. This will open all .eml files that are in the file system using Outlook, including *.eml attachments on messages in OE/WLM. Any replies will be sent
    using Outlook.
    ===========
Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the
registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem
    occurs.
    1.Type
regedit in the Search field on the Start menu or press
Windows Key+ R and enter it in the Run command.
    2.Navigate to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Microsoft Internet Mail Message WLMail\shell\open\command
    Or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Microsoft Internet Mail Message\shell\open\command
    3. Change the command line (here its "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Mail\wlmail.exe" /eml:%1)
to the following line, exactly as shown below but correcting the path to Outlook.exe to match the path on your computer.
    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\OUTLOOK.EXE" /eml "%1"
    Thanks for your understanding.
    Sincerely
    Rex Zhang

  • I cannot send email from Outlook 2011 (for Mac). But can send from other applications

I have Outlook 2011 for Mac - I have validated the settings and up until yesterday could send and receive emails using my .mac account.
I can send using icloud and mail (I use Outlook for work purposes) and can send in outlook using my work accounts.
    My settings
    Incoming server - imap.mail.me.com
    Use SSL to connect checked.
    Outgoing server - smtp.mail.me.com
override default port checked (port 587)
    use SSL to connect checked
    authentication - Username and password.
I have rebuilt the database - no effect.
I continue to get the error
    "Mail could not be sent
The server for account "mac" returned the error. 5.7.8. Bad Username or password (Authentication failed..)" Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try rentering your password"
I have validated my username and password and rentered them both.
I have emptied the outbox and retried but nothing works.
    Thanks for the help.

Update - I now have it working.
am not really sure what exactly fixed it.
I changed a lot of things but my setup now has the following which I think fixed.
    outgoing server  - p06-smtp.mail.me.com
override default port checked - port now 587
on more options button changed it to "use incoming server info".

  • Using outlook 2011 for Mac and iCloud

    Hello all,
I am starting a new job and the office uses Outlook 2011 for Mac. I am looking for a calendar solution so that I can use the invitation features in Outlook, but have my calendar available on my iPhone and iPad.
I have searched on these forums and it seems that Outlook 2011 is not compatible with iCloud. So for a workaround, I wonder if there is a good (or, better yet, excellent) calendar app for iPhone and iPad that will sync with the Outlook calendar on my Mac?
btw all devices are running the latest OS.
    Thanks!
