Import error for .prproj files

so i've just touched adobe mc CS4 for the first time, my church is allowing me to use the studio/editing room while not being used during the day at certain times. i am compiling a dvd of my wedding to make it more proffessional than the previously made vesion (which looks very amateur with a basic template menue, and so on). i plan to use some flash on the menus and maybe even include an easter egg as well. anyway, with the other program i just imported the media from the camera (which is an HDD camera that records everything into .mod files) i've had a .mod converter for quite some time so those are already converted.i saved them on an external HDD, i created a folder on the computer and just dragged and dropped the folder onto there.
anyway, with my old program (cyberlink power producer/director) i'd just import the media into the editor, make the edits and cuts and save the project. then import the project into the author program to make teh menus and burn it. when i first pulled up the program to get acclimated to it, i decided to run through a very quick dry run of a full start to stop dvd burn of a very small video. i did a short series of clips and edits in Premiere (the oevr all project is like 6 minutes long). saved the project, and when i go to import the project into Encore it reads "the software that's used to decode the media is not available on this  system""adobe encore the software that's used to decode the media is not  available on this system. installing the correct decoders for the file  you are working with may help correct the problem."
i can encode the project as an mpeg, and it imports just fine. i can import the individual clips that make up the project into encore, they work fine as well.but if i import the .prproj file, it gives me the error. so whats the deal? can you just drag and drop these files in like this? i'm just trying to keep from constantly encoding the files after 3 encodes, i'm affraid the quality of the video will suffer too much degradation, so i'm trying to get it to where i can just import the project, and then at the end burn the project to dvd.
i figured it better to ask on here, this way i look like a fool anonymously, and not look like a fool to people i actually know. heh.

PrPro will come to you. It has fewer "automations," and "big-button" solutions, than PowerDirector (and Magix and PrE), but with that comes power!
It is the same with Encore vs the limited authoring capabilities of PowerDirector, Magix, Roxio and PrE. Again, more hand-work, but oh, so much more power!
Can you tell that I am a control freak, and do not mind getting my hands dirty to access the power?
There are a few things that Encore cannot do, that programs like Sonic Scenarist can do, but there are usually workarounds, either in the design, or in the implementation, that will get you "there," or close.
I strongly recommend that any new user to Encore purchase and read Jeff Bellune's excellent book, The Focal Easy Guide to Adobe EncoreDVD 2.0, Focal Press. That book covers everything that Encore can do, with two current exceptions - Adobe Dynamic Link (CS4 version) and BD authoring. Both of those were added after the book and EncoreDVD 2.0, were released. However, the Help files cover both of those newer additions well.
Along with the fundamentals of Encore, Jeff covers all sorts of tricks and tips for getting more out of Encore, than the DVD-specs. actually allow. Obviously, he cannot break those rules, though he CAN help you create the illusion that the rules HAVE been broken. The user will swear that they just saw things, that are impossible, based on the DVD-specs., which are very limiting. Hey, it IS "smoke and mirrors," but if the user is fooled, you have succeeded, right?
Good luck, and when you get around to adding some "tricks" to your DVD-Videos, post back. I'd suggest a new thread, so that other users can benefit from the new title, and so that users know that this is a new question. You will find that there is not too much, that someone here has not done, one way, or another. Oh, there ARE some limitations, where there is no good way to "bend" those DVD-specs., but you'll be surprised at what one can "bend."

  • Premier CS6 importer error for mxf files

    I can't import any mxf file into Premier CS6. I don't really understand this situation.
    I have intalled Canopus.HQ.CODEC.v6.0.7 and for example my vlc media player plays fine all of my mxf files.
    Can anybody help me solve this issue?
    Thanks

    Probably because they want to be able to investigate the exact type of mxf file it actually is. Because I edit mxf files with Premiere cs6 fairly regularly and I never have issues. So obivously something is either different with that specific type of mxf or something is corrupted which I doubt. Could you upload a small test file? So we can see if it will import into Premiere on our systems. Also since you're saying they digitized them using a canopus capture device/card and or software I'm thinking you may need that software and or the specific codec installed on your system in order to actually make use of that type of file.
    I'd recommend downloading the entire "canopus playback codec pack". This should solve your issue. However I have no way to promise it will, I'm fairly sure it should work... Simply google "Canopus Playback Codec Pack" and the first result will give you the info your need to get the full playback package. I'm guessing this your problem.

  • How do I convert an excel (2008) document to Numbers?  When I drag the Excel document onto the Numbers icon I get, "Import error.  The file format is invalid"

    How can I convert an Excel (2008) document to Numbers.  When I drag the Excel document onto the Numbers icon I get, "Import error.  The file format is invalid.

    That extension identifies the most current Excel file format, a format that can be opened by Numbers '09 (and by Numbers '08).
    A check with Numbers '09 shows it capable of opening .xlsx files when right-clicked (and Numbers chose as the application to open, when double-clicked (if Numbers has been set as the default application to open this type of file, or when dragged to the Numbers icon in the dock.
    I see two possibilities for Numbers inability to open it and the message you receive:
    1. The file is not actually an Excel file, and the sender has added the .xlsx extension to the filename manually.
    2. The file is an Excel file, but has somehow been corrupted.
    Have you tried opening the file with a different application? The open source Office suites, OpenOffice.org, LibreOffice and NeoOffice can also open .xlsx files. If they're unable to open this one, that would point toward the file itself being faulty. You can download these applications from their rspective websites, linked in the names above. All request a donation to support future development, but only Neo requires one to have been made recently, and that only for the current release (which won't be necessary to open .xlsx files).

    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
    It seems there is something wrong with your code, from your code the account and key are the same, because their appsetting name are the same.
    string account = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["StorageAccountName"];
    //string account = CloudConfigurationManager.GetSetting("StorageAccountName");
    //string key = CloudConfigurationManager.GetSetting("StorageAccountAccessKey");
    string key = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["StorageAccountName"];
    string connectionString = String.Format("DefaultEndpointsProtocol=https;AccountName={0};AccountKey={1}", account, key);
    return CloudStorageAccount.Parse(connectionString);
    If you use CloudConfigurationManager.GetSetting, please consider set azure project as the startup project, if not, this value will be null, this resulted in solution being started as a web project that didn't run inside the Azure emulator. Since CloudConfigurationManager.GetSetting
    tries to get setting by contacting Azure (or Azure emulator in this case), and it is not running, it returns null.

  • File Import Error for mpeg-1?

    When attempting to add mpeg1 files to render queue, AME 5.0.1.0 displays a messagebox "File Import Error" "Error while decompressing the source file".
    These mpeg1s are direct from my Sony DSC-N2 point-&-shoot. GSpot identifies them as mpeg1 video codec & 32khz,64kbs,mono layer2 audio. VirtualDub has no problem with these files.
    Any ideas?  I'd upload them here but as uncompressed mpeg1s they're 41 & 19MB.

    Hi Peter,
    Thanks for posting the clip. I tested it and was able to reproduce your results.  In Adobe Media Encoder 5.0.1, installed as part of CS5 Design Premium on Windows 7 64-bit with QuickTime 7.6.9, encoding the file to F4V (or FLV or H.264) was very very slow.  It looks like AME is duplicating every frame many times over, which was confirmed when I stopped the encode and examined the partial file.
    The problem did not occur, however, on a similar computer with CS5 Production Premium installed.
    The reason, if I understand the inner workings of AME well (which I like to think that I do), has to do with which codecs are installed with AME, which is dependent on which Adobe products you have installed.  Only Production Premium, After Effects, and Premiere Pro include the MPEG codecs necessary for AME to decode MPEG files natively.  Design Premium, Flash, or any other Adobe product that installs AME do not install the MPEG codecs.
    In theory, AME shouldn't be able to read your MPEG file at all.  But when QuickTime is installed AME has a rule that allows it to ask QuickTime if it can decode certain types of files if AME can't decode them natively.  In this case, yes, QuickTime can read this MPEG file.  So it's actually QuickTime that is decoding the file for AME, and then AME takes those frames and encodes them to the output format.  If you didn't have QuickTime installed, AME would just produce an error when you tried to open the file.  (I confirmed this by uninstalling QuickTime; this is also why your previous bad QuickTime install was generating the error you first posted about.)
    The problem here seems to be that QuickTime and AME aren't talking together very well.  Either AME isn't requesting the frames correctly, or QuickTime isn't handing over the frames correctly.
    The best workaround for you will be to use a different program to transcode your MPEG files to a different format.  Either directly to F4V, or to an intermediate format (QuickTime, AVI, other) that you can then import into AME so it can properly transcode it.
    Or you can take Jim's suggestion and shoot with a camera that produces files that are more friendly to editing.  MPEG files are notoriously difficult to decode efficiently for editing, and the wide variety of implementations of the MPEG guidelines makes it nearly impossible for editing programs to be compatible with every single device that can write MPEG files.
    I do have some good news: this problem has already been resolved for a future release of AME; my test of an internal build did not reproduce the problem.

  • Import error on XMP files when bringing in image sequences to AE cs6

    Hey everyone,
    I'm having difficulty getting AE 6 to import my still image timelapse sequences.  It throws an error called-unsupported file type extension.  I did not have this problem with cs 5.5.
    My workflow goes as follows.
    -bring RAW stills into bridge and batch edit them in camera raw.
    -move stills to LR timelapse and de-flicker them
    -import still sequence into after effects.
    The xmp files should change as I edit them in camera raw and in LR timelapse but they will not import into AE cs6.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Thanks for your time.

    They are still pictures that were shot in RAW on a still camera.  It calls them cr2 files in windows explorer.  They are raw image files brought into bridge and when edited in camera raw-the metadata is saved to an xmp file that accompanies each image.  Then you bring the images into LR timelapse and it just adjusts the xmp(metadata) files to deflicker them.  Much in the same way that camera raw works.  You do not have to export the still at all because all of these changes are saved in the metadata.  Then you drop the still sequence into AE and export it as video.  It just wont let me export them into cs6 with these xmp files.
    The raw files are called cr2 files and without the xmp file-they will import into AE.  I tried importing some other camera raw files (NEF files) into AE with the xmp's and it worked.  For some reason it does not like these RAW cr2 files with the xmp metadata.
    Thanks for your time and help,

  • Could not load file/URL (file not found) error for JNLP file

    I am completely baffled in trying to figure out why I am getting the following error for some JNLP files but not others:
    Error: could not load file/URL specified: C:\Users\tom\AppData\Local\Temp\javaws2
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: C:\Users\tom\AppData\Local\Temp\javaws2 (The system cannot find the file specified)

    at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source)
    at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source)
    at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)I have Googled around this forum and elsewhere, and have seen reports that this error is IE-specific, and seems to have something to do with no-cache headers being sent, or with the client browser's cache being full or turned off (which is not my case). I saw the information in the JavaWS FAQ, which recommended turning off security constraints for the JNLP's URI. I tried that, and it didn't help. One of the very baffling things is that I have created several variations of the JNLP file, with varying combinations of jars and property resources, and some combinations always work while other combinations never work. Here's an example:
    <jnlp spec="1.0+" codebase="$$codebase">
       <information>
          <title>demo app</title>
          <description>illustrates weird bug</description>
       </information>
       <resources>
          <j2se version="1.5+"/>
          <jar href="randomFile.jar"/>
          <property name="xxx" value="xxxx"/>
          <property name="swing.metalTheme" value="steel"/>
       </resources>
    </jnlp>The above file always fails with the error shown at the top of this message. However, if I remove either of the two properties, it works fine. And I have created other variations with lots of properties, some of which work. All of these variations are in the same directory in the war file, served by the exact same servlet (a slightly modified version of the jnlp.sample.servlet.JnlpDownloadServlet provided with JDK 1.6.0_3). Assuming that a no-cache header is the problem, what on earth could be causing some JNLP files to always be served with a no-cache header, while others are never served with a no-cache header?
    On a related note, any recommended debugging techniques for seeing what headers are being transmitted? I tried adding a simple check for a "debug=true" parameter in the servlet that causes it to set the content type to "text/plain" instead of JNLP, and that allows me to see (rather than execute) the JNLP XML that's being returned, but it doesn't show me the HTTP headers that are being sent back. If any caching headers are being set, I think it must be being set by the servlet container itself, as it's nothing being set in the servlet code that I can see. So I don't see any way on the server side Java code to output or log the actual HTTP response (or is there?). Any tips in that regard much appreciated.
    Edited by: TomC125468 on Aug 19, 2009 1:35 PM

    Hi Luca-Sanna,
    Thanks for the response. Re browsers, yes, it fails in IE but it succeeds in Firefox. The info on the JavaWS FAQ and other places all seem to indicate that it's an IE issue concerning handling of the cache-control headers.
    I should check in my webserver forum (Sun WebServer 7) to see about logging options. Sniffing on the client side is not possible, as my app is required to use HTTPS exclusively, and unfortunately that also precludes a telnet GET request.

  • LSMW Errors for Excel file upload

    Hi all,
    We've loaded an Excel file with 20,000+ records into SAP using LSMW and a background run. However, the LSMW returned errors for about 2,000 of those records and seems to have processed the other 18,000. Questions as follows:
    1. Is there a way to extract the 2000 records into another Excel file?
    2. If so, how can I isolate the 2000 records so that I can reload them with correct information?  I do not want to have to go through each record one by one to find them.
    3. How can I identify what the problem was for a record that produced an error?
    Thanks in advance. Points will be awarded for helpful answers.

    u have used LSMW which will normally create a Session which will be executed using SM35 in background mode...Goto the session and click on errors...the errors are been shown up..U can correct there itself or else prepare another one with correct data and do a lsmw once again.

  • AVI import fails for older files but works in iMovie

    I have two sets of AVI files, one from early 2000 and newer post 2008.
    Both groups of files import fine into iMovie 11.
    however, only the newer group imports into FCP X.
    I can convert the older files to MOV using QT, but this won't work well for many files.
    Seems if iMovie can read, so should FCP X.

    I have had a similar problem, where maye 8 out of 10 AVI format moves will download into iPhoto, but the rest simply never get there. I did get 107 out of 109 files OK but have seen worse. I can tell you about which camera it is, how I connect and so on, but first, this:
    A small sidebar in the Bugs & Fixes column of the April, 2007 Macworld magazine (see page 89) mentions that: "the likely cause is a problematic third-party QuickTime Plug-in." and advises the reader to check for and remove plug-ins not installed by OSX.
    I took the same camera and imported all 109 pics from my camera on a separate account of the same machine (20" i-mac but I don't think this is relevant) and got all 109 f 109 files just fine.
    So, I think "problematic third party QT plug-ins may be a good call. Need to investigate this some more, but its a flaky problem and Macs are supposed to "just plain work".

    I'm trying to run a dbexport and job errors in R3load. Job is looking for a file QCMDF53S in the database.
    Files is not found in *libl
    File does not exist
    When I look at the R3 database at table ddloadd it has the file name & primary key for qcmdf53s.
    When I look at the unix level at file ddloadd.tab it has the file name in there.
    Should I remove the file from ddload.tab
    We're moving from Iseries to SQl Server
    Please help.
    THanks
    Joe
