Import error very short duration music file

When I use i-tunes to import from any music CD the files created are much too short and small. The maximum play time of any one file is no more than 25 seconds and the file size is small also. Other features of i-tunes that provide songs work fine such as music store download or importing other music files from the hard drive. Other programs on the computer related to ripping CD's work fine and all related hardware/software is updated and running w/compatibility.
If anyone has answers they would be very appreciated.

I'm no help here, but I am having the exact same problem with a Toshiba Tablet. CD import has not worked for me with iTunes 5 or iTunes 6 over the last month (works in Media Player). I am not sure if this problem started when I upgraded to version 5 (and then to 6) or if it started when my system crashed while I was using iTunes.
I am trying to relocate a version 4 install to see if reverting back to that version fixes the problem.
I hope someone can respond with a solution.
(Incidentally, running CD diagnostics in version 6 produces a report with the correct diagnostic information for the CD - so the diagnostic program recognizes the CD properly, just not the music import.)

No such issues with SQL server or OLAP Cube. I can import data just fine using those.

Error Message when copying music files to Nano

When copying an album to the Nano, I receive and error message with 4 songs left to copy off of the album. Error states: Attempting to copy to the disk "IPOD" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to. With 4 songs left to copy
I have only used approx. 344.8 MB of memory. I tried resetting the Nano and then also deleting album and recopying and the same files back. Nothing seems to work, please help!

If you want to use large files you have to reformat it. It will erase any data that is on the drive, If the drive will be used only with OSX, format it as Mac Extended (HFS+) Journaled with the GUID partition table.
Start Disk Utility (Utilities Folder). Select the drive in the left column (be sure to select the drive, all the way at the left, not the volume indented below it). Select the "Partition" tab. Set "Volume Scheme" to "1 Partition". Click the "Options" button. Select "GUID Partition Table". Click the "OK" button. Enter the volume name and click the "Apply" button.

Import Error: Could not move a file to the requested location.

After importing with the move option I get "Could not move a file to the requested location." and a list of all the
images. The images were all moved so the sync option finds them in the destination folders. It is just a pain to go through this two step process. Note this wasn't the initial behavior at first the process worked.

I like some of the music that comes with the standard themes in iDVD 6, however, I'm looking for a greater selection to include with my slideshows. Can anyone point me to a source on the net, preferably free?

I dont know of any free sites, but if you have soundtrack you can create your own royalty-free music whatever length you like. Also, QT Pro will allow you to edit music for your DVD's as well.

ITunes music files did not transfer afte rebooting OS software

I had to reboot system 10.3 software- I was happy because I had everything backed up on a Lacie external drive that i had formatted as a bootable disk. So when my iBook came back from the repair shop with a new blank OS and asked me if I wanted to transfer files from another computer, I did, from the Lacie hard drive. Only my iTunes music did not transfer, and so far it seems like I have to import files one by one- I can not figure out how to import the whole lot of music files.
Additionally, all my other files, mostly Word, were imported with the "created on" date all set to 1970, for some reason. That is annoying; any ideas from anyone? Thank you very much

Hello, new to this forum. Thanks in advance for any help. On receiving my latest itemised bill, I noticed that I have repeated very short duration calls to mobiles of between 1 and 5 secs (107 in all). On one evening I have 31 calls to the same number, 15 being of the this duration. Each time this happens it costs between 18 and 23 pence and these are spread across my bill on almost every day. Could this possibly be some kind of a fault, or is it a case of someone in my family repeatedly calling an engaged mobile and getting a message? This is also on landlines, but not so often. Would just like to know either way.

Is this still happening (e.g. can you check your bill and calls online ?)
It sort of sounds like a possible equipment fault - e.g. a faulty handset, or perhaps is there someone "sitting" on a dect/cordless phone, or it being held in a pocket perhaps causing buttons to be pressed, default ringing the first number in stored memory.
Do you know the mobile numbers being dialled ?
Are they actually mobile numbers, and not perhaps some form of dial in access - e.g. xfactor, I'm a celebrity etc ?

Error whilst converting audio CD file

I am having problems importing audio CD's to iTunes. The following error message appears half way through the import:
'Error occurred while converting the file "song title". An unknown error occurred (Ox77686174)'
Can anyone help as until I get this sorted I can't do anything with my iPod.

Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 7 (presumed 64 bit).....
1. Music files and error message...are these music files from iTunes? If so, convert them to .wav in iTunes to convert them to wav version, and then import the .wav version into Premiere Elements 13 project using Premiere Elements 13 Expert workspace's Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets from where you drag the wav version to the Soundtrack.

2. How you set up the project and the export settings that you select greatly influence your end product result.
a. What are the properties of the source media?
b. What project preset did you (manually) or the project (automatically) set to match the properties of the source media.
(If you do not know, please tell us what you see for the readings of Editing Mode, Timebase, Frame Size, Pixel Aspect Ratio - even
if the fields look grayed out.)
c. For your export...Publish+Share/Computer/and then what? And what preset? Did you use the default settings of the preset or did you
customize the export settings of the preset under the preset's Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab?

I haven't encountered this error, but let's try to figure out a solution.

As soon as you insert a CD (assumng you have a drive), iTunes should immediately open and ask if you want to add this to your Library. Say "Yes." (You haven't set the quality levels yet, but we want to set up your library, first.)
Music. If you have individual tracks you want to import, keep iTunes open, and simply drop the tracks in the "Songs" part of the Library on the left side of the screen. The tracks should be added automatically.
If this isn't working for you, please describe the error -- or better yet, provide screenshots. I'm certain you will be able to set up your iTunes library pretty quickly.

Importing Existing Music Files to New Computer

Hi:
I have a new computer and am trying to get iTunes to recognize the existing music files on an external drive (created via my previous laptop). I changed the Pref-Advanced=Folder location to the external drive but it does not see the existing files. If I import folder then the first one works but the second messes up the existing album/folder structure and I get 2 or 3 songs per folder, even for the folder that came in OK (I have turned on "Keep iTunes Folder organized") . Also, very tedious to import one folder at a time. Is there no way to say "get all the stuff under this main folder or drive"?

Don - If "Get Info" looks like it is not editable, that usually means the song file is set to "Read Only," which you can fix in Windows via right-click, Properties.
As far as consolidating albums, after the songs are imported you can highlight a group of them and use Get Info to edit the "Album" and "Album Artist" to new values.

You can try downloading 7-Zip (free), or a free trial of WinRAR, and unpack the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe file into its components then try installing them individually in alphabetical order (don't try to install SetupAdmin.exe or iCloud.msi). You may get a more useful error message as to which component has problems.

I have the same problem. I recently moved my music from a Vista PC to a new Laptop with an external CD drive. It will copy one song from the CD and it will show in the Music file and then I get the message ' Error importing a CD - Folder not found'. I must unplug the CD drive and plug it back in. I have seen no fix for this problem.

"Template import error: No VM configure file found" on brand new setup

Previously, I posted Console does not launch OVM 3.1.1, Win7x32 Firefox15/IE8 - Empty .jnlp file which was about VM Console not launching. Since this is a new installation, and it seemed to be a unique problem, I scratched the whole installation and started again from scratch. Everything, including the NFS file server, was re-installed from scratch CD OS installation.
The process is pretty straightforward once you're used to it, and in less than three hours I was ready again to import my first template (a template I had imported before). But now, I submit the the request, and almost immediately the process aborts. (You can see in the information below, that 1 second passes between the Import request (06:32:36) and the failure.)
Thing is, it takes about three minutes, even locally on the web server, to get an index of that large file (tar tzf), and at completion, the vm config file is listed.
Am I misreading the error? My web searches for enlightenment found only one good hit on this error, and in that case it appeared to be an "out of space" issue. In this case, though, I'm importing a 5GB tarfile into a 390GB, otherwise-empty file system, so I don't think that is the issue. The failure in ovs-agent.log is below. What other information may I provide to get to the bottom of this? (Thanks for any guidance/help, of course!)

How did you get the template to where you staged it?
I'd say the template is corrupt or you only have a partial template.
I did notice the call to the template is based on the short name of the host. Can you confirm the VM manager can access the http path via short name?
