Import error when importing .psd file created in Photoshop CS3

I have a file that was created in Photoshop CS3. I am trying to import this file into Catalyst CS5, but I keep getting an input error. I created a file in Photoshop CS5 and I was able to import this .psd file successfully into catalyst. So I guess my question is this; Does Catalyst support .psd files created in Photoshop CS5 only? If this is the case, how can I convert the CS3 .psd to a CS5 .psd

I am now building my files using photoshop CS5. A few challenges I have experienced while trying to import into Catalyst:
- If I do a straight import into Catalyst, I loose all my colors in Catalyst. That is, catalyst imports all my vectors without any of the colors I had in Photoshop. My understanding is that Catalyst has libraries to support Photoshop files, so your import from Photoshop should not look any different in Catalyst.
Work Around: I have had to rasterize / merged all my image layers for the different components I have built in Photoshop CS5. Then when I start the import process I click the Advanced button on the catalyst import dialog. From the advanced dialog, I have to flatten (to bitmap) all the images I intend to import.
This process takes about two hours because I have a lot of components on the page.
Is there something I'm not doing right here? I'm not seeing the value add to Catalyst, if it's taking me this long to just import .psd files

Actually you can open a CS3 file with smart filters in CS2
the only problem is CS2 will not understand the Smart filter and flatten it.
If you leave the smart filtered object alone in CS2 save the file and it should still be a smart filtered object in CS3

Tdm importer error when opening tdms file

I am getting a error when trying to open a tdms file that had been opened by labview, written to, and then closed. The error is:
USI encountered an exception:
(175):Error while initializing interface
I can sort of understand this error occuring when I have the file open in labview (actually I consider this to be a bug since there is no reason why another application should not be able to access a file in read only mode even if it is currently open by another application)
but in my case I am definitely closing the tdms reference and it still will not import unless I stop the top level vi.

It is a known bug that if you open a TDMS file with an option other
than "read-only", no other process can get access to that file, even if
it is just for reading. The issue is filed as CAR# 49794JWJ
(status: fixed). This only applies if the file is still open, which you
commented on, but which doesn't appear to be your actual problem.
Apparently, you are using the Storage VIs to handle your TDMS files,
otherwise you couldn't get a USI exception. Have you tried opening your
file with the TDMS File Viewer on the TDM Streaming palette? If that
doesn't work, please provide us with your TDMS file, and if possible,
your VI. This would be a problem that we're not aware of at this point.

Photoshop keeps showing 'strtable error' when opening PSD files?

I'm on a near new late 2013 model MBP/OS 10.9.4 running CC2014.
Anybody encounter this and figure out whether it's a Mac OS or an Adobe issue... or even better, what it is & how to fix it? A quick search hints that it might be related to the wrong file extension being used, but these files are all standard PSDs with the correct file extension. Several have been created recently using the new-to-me CC2014 PS app I'm using to open them, so at first sight CS->CC version compatibility issues seem unlikely.
So far I've still been able to open the PSDs by ignoring and clicking through the warnings, but it obviously doesn't promote a relaxed frame of mind ;-)

Results as per below. I suspected the problem might be text/font related hence the additional steps.
- Created new file
- Quit PS
- opened file > OK
- Added editable text to file
- Quit PS
- Opened file: strtable error
- Restart machine
- Opened file: strtable error
- Reset PS preferences
- Opened file: strtable error
- Opened in plugin disabled mode
- Opened file > OK
- Deleted FontExplorer plugin
- Opened file > OK
- Quit PS
- Reinstalled FontExplorer plugin
- Opened test file & others with editable text > OK
So, in the end the problem was with the FontExplorer plugin and replacing that fixed it.

Getting a "Setup Error" when I try to re-install Photoshop CS3

I've had a nightmare week. My iMac crapped out and I lost the harddrive. Now I'm slogging through the process of re-installing all my software.
Per the instructions of the Adobe Customer Service, I went into "My Adobe" > "My Orders" and downloaded the Photoshop CS3 I purchased in Sept. 2007. (I know it's old but it serves the purpose I need).
But when I double click the "Setup" application, I get the following message:
Setup Error
Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe Customer Support for assistance.
When I contacted Customer Support, they told me they could not help me because they do not offer support for old versions of CS and to post a question here, so that's what I'm doing.
Does anyone know what the "Setup Error" is and how I can re-install Photoshop CS3?

I suggest that after downloading and saving the Flash installer to a folder, you completely exit Firefox, and do the installation with Firefox closed in case having Firefox open is interfering in some manner.

What is causing a disk error when saving psd files or writing to cache?

The problem only happens when running Photoshop CC (2104) and Bridge (actually these are the only two programs I really use my external drive for) during a save or write operation to an external hard drive. I can work for hours, with multiple files open, saving, creating, etc. without a problem and then suddenly I'll get a message from Photoshop saying, "Could not save .... because of a disk error." or from Bridge saying, ".. unable to write to cache..".
When I quit and try to troubleshoot the problem, I find that, for some reason, Mavericks has put system files on my external (non boot) drive or, for whatever reason, thinks there is a system file on it. Consequently, the drive cannot be ejected (Error message: "... one or more programs may be using it...") and I cannot repair it using Disk Utility (Error message: " ... live file system repair is not supported"). I also cannot write to it (Error message: "... unexpected disk error has occurred (error code: -50)"). The problem persists even after quitting all other programs, which wouldn't surprise me if Mavericks thinks there is a system file on it.
I have force ejected the drive a couple of times but became concerned that I might be compounding the problem. Now I just restart my computer and run Disk Utility Repair Disk. (Don't know which is worse.) Disk Utility either doesn't find a problem or, if it finds one, it repairs it. After that, Photoshop and Bridge work fine for a while.
System information:
MacBook Pro 13" 2.4GHz with 16GB RAM, 500 GB HD (recently upgraded)
Apple Cinema Display
Mavericks (up to date)
G-Technology G-Drive (Gen 5) 2TB HD connected via Firewire 800 (latest firmware)
Unconfirmed observation: I believe the first few times this problem occurred, Firefox was up an running. I made a point of quitting all programs except System Monitor when running Photoshop and Bridge and I can't remember having the problem again. The the last time the issue occurred, today, however, Safari was up and running.
Is this an OS problem, a hardware (disk drive, cable, etc.) problem, a software problem (PS, Bridge) or some combination? I have put this much detail in the post hoping someone can share some insight into the cause. I will be sending this report to Apple and G-Technology and I will report any resolution, if and, hopefully when, I find one.

The only thing that will cause a disk error is an actual error from the disk.
Photoshop is just telling you what that OS told it about the error.
It sounds like you need to boot off another disk and try to repair your disk.
Also, make sure you have a backup. And check the SMART status to see if it is failing and needs to be replaced.

Have you tried to open the file in Graphic Converter (shareware application)?
I find file corruption practically non-existant these days. I would suggest that you maintain your machine. This can be done with Onyx http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/onyx.html. Run all the tasks in the "automation" section of this application.
If you can do a drive check - checking your hard drive for physical issues might also be a good idea.

Photoshop CS6 can't/won't open TIFF file created in photoshop CS3

Earlier this year, I was still using CS3. I created a bunch of original TIFF files, and modified files which had been created in CS1. When I am having to go back and reference these CS3 TIFFs, some of them are giving me an error message and refusing to open. Evidently, they are not compatible with CS6?! Seriously?!
I have since uninstalled CS3, but the box is sitting on the shelf if I need it (which I am hoping I don't). Any suggestions for a workaround - preferably one which will not destroy my layers.

Well, carp. Just like when you take your car in to the mechanic: I can't find any of the offending TIFF files. Not surprising considering that I have just north of 1,000 on my drive. Yikes.
For the record, the error message basically just said that the file I was trying to open was incompatibile with this version of Photoshop. And just now I successfully opened a file from April 2005, originally created in CS, and it is completely intact. My novice-ness shows through , but it's perfectly intact.
Sorry to bother to Board; I'll come back when (if?) the message comes back.

Hi, i think that the problem is around the rollback segments.The solution is bring other rollback segments ONLINE state, if not exist others rollbackup,then you need create the other rollback segments and bring online state.

Thanks for reply.
We have checked driver dim and region dim(s) members. Its looks fine. Even though we are facing import error.
As per basis guidance we have executed program SE38--> UJA_DATA_CHECKER on source system appset. And observed there are several errors showing up related to BPFs & Invalid attribute name ACCTYPE for CO_ENTITY dimension.
If any of you faced similar issue. Please share your input in this regard.

Error when import BI content 3.5.3

Hi All
I have error when import BI content 3.5.3 step at Tcode 'SAINT' (file SAPKIBIFIH.car) for mySAP ERP 2004 (ECC 5.0 IDES).
The error occur in step 3/5 after enter SAINT:Passw request.
System shown information "Queue SAPKLTHQ10 has not yet been confirmed".
In step 4/5 sytem shown statue/remarks "The Add-on installation terminated during phase PROLOGUE".
I think about installation THAI font package at Tcode "SMLT" uncompleted.
I run report "RSCPINST" at Tcode "SE38" for editing codepage after that the system shown error message "MDMP is not supported foe SAP Business Information Warehouse. Message no.RIN010" Please see sap note 563975.
Note: When i import Thai font package "SAPKLTHQ10" using Tcode "SMLT" the system shown error message "TL1277" in define schedule job step.

The system established that the language environment cannot be switched to language Thai.
The language transport is stopped at this point.
Procedure
The switch of the language environment may fail for the following reasons:
1. The database codepage is not up-to-date.

4. The profile parameter zcsa/installed_languages has to be adjusted.
If an error occurs, proceed as follows:
1. Find out the name of the server on which the language import job ran. Log on to this server.
2. Check the language configuration using report RSCPINST. Solve the reported problem there.
If your system consists of multiple application servers and not all of them have authorization for language Thai, continue the language import on a server that has authorization for language Thai.

This is a long story that you write, but your problem seems just that you must "Confirm the queue". Is that correct?
Without this step no further Support Packages can be inserted into the system. Confirming the queue is done by one of the buttons in the SPAM transaction. Just put the mouse on the buttons and read the quick help to differentiate between the buttons.
I have never had a problem like this but I think it can happen if, together with the new BI version you also include one or more support packs. This happens automatically if these packages are available, so you may not even have noticed it.

Error when importing from Excel in SAP

Hello experts,
My gets error when importing price list using the import form Xl menu :
(-1200) DBMCconnBase::EndTransaction SQLEndTran sqlState 08S01, nativeErr: 0, errText:[Microsoft][SQL Native Client] Communication link failure
This happens only when connected with SAP Client, it never happens when connected in terminal server directly on SAP server.

SAP 2007 Sp01 PL08 HF01
This has always been working before, it has stopped working when he changed the motherboard 3 weeks ago. Nothing else have changed.
Any idea where to look at?

Thanks for your answer. that would have probaly fix the issue
my techs fixed the issue by doing the 2 following thinks, i don't know if only one of them would have fix it.
1. in the boot.ini file there was a /3G in the end, restricting the memory to 1G for the OS. The tech deleted it.
2. in management studio, the technician changed the memory reserved for sql from 9/12 to 14/16Gb
there was probably not enough RAM available for the import.
since that change it works well.

CL_SFW_SYSTEM_SETTINGS error when importing SPs

When we want to import the support packages SAP_BASIS, SAP_ABA, SAP_BW,
PI-BASIS untill packages level 7 ( we come from level 4) and the HR
untill package level 26 we run into the short text error when importing
the basis, aba, pi-basis and bw package.
I tried to use the following notes:
1281321 but this gives the error: DEQUEUE_ENQBADIIMPL_ENH
1483283 but this fails also as when I perform tp unlock_EU <SID>
pf=/usr/sap/<sid>trans/bin/TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL it tells me it need to be done
via SE03.
1532661 this one sents me to note 1414700 and 1366282 but the last ones
sents you back to 1483283 and note 1414700 when I want to implement it
with snote it tells me I need to use transaction SE03 for system settings.
Is there any other option to get this issue fixed? as we need to upgradesome other systems aswell with these support packages

Symptom
When you import the Support Packages SAP_BASIS 7.00 Support Package 14 and
Support Package16 in a queue, the runtime error SYNTAX_ERROR occurs in
class CL_SFW_SYSTEM_SETTINGS (program CL_SFW_SYSTEM_SETTINGS========CP).

Could try saving as tiff provided layers and transparency are chosen at the time of saving. But it's hard to give a definitive answer as it depends on the final usage. For example PSD's tend to work better in applications like In Design in comparison with tiff.
