Import / Export Script Presets problem

Hi all,
I've an issue when trying to import / export custom scripts using the import/export presets command in CS6.
I like to have custom scripts accessible under the File > Scripts menu, so I keep them in the Application / Presets Folder. I've found if I store them in the Users/ Presets folder they don't appear under the File > Scripts menu.
If I use the Export Presets command, I can't export custom scripts stored in the application folder, only if I have them stored in the User/Preset directory.
If I go to another machine and use the Import Preset Option, I can get it to import the custom scripts from a back up folder, but they get installed in the User/Presets directory, so I end up having to manually move them afterwards.
Is there a way around this ? It's great being able to package the presets and quickly install them elsewhere, but at the moment I'm still having to move the scripts by hand
Mac 10.6.8 PS 13.01

HI,
I've no idea why you get that error, but there's a simpler way to transport your bookmarks to another machine.
/Users/YourUsername/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
Copy that file to the equivalent location on the other machine and that's it.

  • Import, Export and Preset settings from TimeMachine

I'd like to recover only my Import, Export and Preset settings of Aperture 3.0 from my backup disk using TimeMachine. Can someone pls guide me on what files to look for and where to find them? (I just reformatted my MBP and hence this query).
    Thanks in advance.

You will find the setting in your User Library in the folder
Your Home Directory > Library > Application Support > Aperture
Everything with "preset" in its name might be interesting to you.
Reveal the User Library by going to the Finder main menu bar, select "Go" and hold down the "option" key, until you see the Library in the drop down menu. Select it.
In the Library Finder window navigate to the "Application Support" folder, then "Aperture".
Drag the Aperture folder to the Finder Sidebar for easy access, then open Time Machine.
Go back in Time to the time you want to restore from, then restore the "Aperture Folder"  to your Desktop and copy the files you need to your Library.

  • Importing & exporting script

    hi experts,
through program "RSTXSCRP" we can export or import the script to hard disk.
my doubt is in the selection screen: we have "control parameters for file operation" what is the purpose of them.
one more is we have "control of language version" what is the language vector field? how it is useful here.
    can anyone plz help me.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi Mytri
The "Contrl Parameters for file operation" is generally when u want to save the file in to LAH server(application server) or at the place in which u want (i.e form/frontend option).
The "control of language versions" helps in to save the form in different languages.More over there is one more option to upload and save it original box too(see the check box u had)

  • Import/Export troubles

    Hi,
I'm testing import/export scripts to export components
and pagegroups from a 10g (9.0.4.0.99) Portal (upgraded from 3.0.9.8.5), and import them into a fresh installed 10g
    Portal instance.
I have some troubles with privileges on the components after the import: every component which had specific privileges (not inherited from DB provider)in the origin portal, seems to be imported with no privilege at all (only 'export' link is displayed) in the the new one.
    Any idea?
I also have troubles importing pagegroups, export works bu no Pagegroup is created during import.
Any help would be great (before I log a Tar).
    Thanks.
    Christophe.

i'm also new to export/import portal, so i can reply just with a question.....where are the transport sets saved ???
I might also guess a solution at your problem:
did you placed a tick on the "Export Access Control List" option ??

  • FAQ: How do I migrate my saved presets from an earlier version of Photoshop or import/export them?

You now have the option to migrate presets from a previous version, export presets and to save to a directory as a zip file (great for instructors).
Preset Migration migrates your saved presets, not your preferences. The message says "Would you like to migrate presets from the following versions?"  It simply carries on the preset files you have already saved (things like Brush Tips, HDR Toning presets, Curve presets, Styles etc.)  to CS6.
HOW TO USE PHOTOSHOP CS6 AUTOMATED PRESET MIGRATION
Photoshop CS6 offers the great new functionality of automated preset migration for your custom presets from Photoshop versions as far back as CS3.
When Photoshop CS6 launches for the first time, it checks for previous installations of Photoshop on the computer to see if there are custom presets that need to be migrated. Photoshop looks in each of these presets folders for your saved custom preset files that it can migrate.
Preset migration script copies all the files in user preset folders of older versions. If there are more than one preset files with the same name, presets from the newer version will be given priority. These types of presets will be migrated by the script:
3DLUTs, Actions, Black and White, Brushes, Channel Mixer, Color Books, Color Swatches, Contours, Curves, Custom Shapes, Deco, Duotones, Exposure, Flash 3D, Gradients, HDR Toning, Hue and Saturation, Levels, Lighting Effects, Lights, Materials, Meshes, Optimized Colors, Optimized Output Settings, Optimized Settings, Patterns, Render Settings, Repousse, Scripts, Styles, Tools, Video, Volumes, Widgets, Zoomify, and Workspaces
If this is not your first launch and you would like Photoshop to look for presets,
Choose Edit > Presets > Migrate Presets
When Photoshop notices that you have custom presets saved in their appropriate folders it will give the message "Would you like to migrate presets from the following versions?"
Choose Yes. Photoshop will begin the preset migration script.
When the migration has completed Photoshop will pop up another message saying:
"Preset files from older versions successfully migrated"
In order to use your newly migrated presets, you must restart Photoshop.
If you had Photoshop CS6 beta installed and have saved custom presets, you will need to export those presets before uninstalling the previous version and installing the release version of Photoshop CS6.
    HOW TO SAVE PRESETS
For PS, check that you have saved all your presets using:
Edit>Preset Manager... (in previous versions) Edit>Presets>Preset Manager... (in CS6)
HOW TO IMPORT AND EXPORT PRESETS
    In the main PS menu,
    Choose Edit > Presets > Export/Import Presets
In this dialog you can export the presets and then import them when you load the new version using the same Export/Import dialog.
If you have gone through the automated preset migration and notice that some of your presets didn't get migrated with the rest, make sure you have exported your presets to their default folders.
    PRESET FILE LOCATIONS:
(Note that there are two different folder locations for presets, one for application provided default presets, and one for user created preset files)
These are the presets that are unique to each user on the computer. These can be migrated automatically: (this is the location that the user should save their personal presets in)
    Windows:  Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Presets
    Mac:  Users/[Username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Presets
These are the default presets that ship with Photoshop.  These presets can be imported but will not copy over using the migrate feature because each version of Photoshop will install defaults for that version.
    Windows 64 bit:
        [Hard Drive]:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Presets
    WindowsXP and Windows7 32 bit:
          [Hard Drive]:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Presets
    Mac:
        [Hard Drive]/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Presets
    Frequently used preset filename extensions:
    ABR  Brush preset
    ACO  Swatch preset
    ASL  Style preset
    ATN  Action preset
    CSH  Custom Shape preset
    GRD  Gradient preset
    PAT  Pattern preset
    SHC  Contour preset
    Here is a helpful tutorial:
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-photoshop-cs6/preset-migration-and-sharing/

Do you have an  iPhoto Library from the old machine? If you have then simply open it - there's no importing involved.
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
If you don't have an actual library there is no way to do what you want.

  • IMPORT / EXPORT IN SCRIPTS

    Hi all.
i have an issue in the scripts.
is ir possible to use Import / export in scripts.
If it is possible ,then how.
can any body help me to solve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Eswar

    Hi,
Use Report RSTXSCRP allows SAPscript objects (standard texts, styles, forms
or device types to be transported between R/3 and a local or central
    file.
Note: Texts, styles, and forms are client-specific! For export they are
always read from the current client and for import they are always read
to the current client. Device types are not client-specific so the
current client is not significant in the export/import of printer
    definitions.
    Parameters to be specified:
The radio buttons Device type/Form/Style/Standard text select the
transport object to be imported or exported.
Object name:  Name of the standard text, style, form, or device type.
Mode: Export means download to file, IMPORT means upload from file.
File system: Allows you to choose whether the file is read/written
locally (GUI file system) or on the application server (default
    setting).

  • IMPORT/EXPORT problem.

    Hi,
I am using a import export statement in my program.
    REPORT  ZKATEST.
    data : w_test type c value '1'.
    data : w_test1 type c.
export w_test to memory id 'ZKAPIL'.
import w_test1 from memory id 'ZKAPIL'.
    write : w_test1.
Here the value gets exported to memory, but while importing its not getting populated (w_test1 is blank).
    Please suggest the solution.
    Thanks
    Kapil

    Hi kapil,
    1.  This kind of problems happen
        because the variable name,
        for export
        and import are different.
    2.  While exporting,
        Under memory id ZKAPIL,
Value of W_TEST is stored with the name W_TEST.
    3. From the syntax,
        <b>import w_test1 from memory id 'ZKAPIL'</b>
while importing,  from memory id ZKAPIL,
the sysetm will , by default,
try to search the value stored under name W_TEST1.
(But it won't be found, because the orignal value is stored
under the name W_TEST and not W_TEST1)
<b>4. So just modify the syntax with this, and it will work fine.</b>
    <b>import W_TEST = w_test1 from memory id 'ZKAPIL'.</b>
    regards,
    amit m.

  • Problem of Data Import/Export after migration of Oracle DB 9i to 10g

We have encountered the following problem after the migration of Oracle DB 9i to 10g R1 and ESRI ArcSDE 8.3 to 9.1.
In our development server, a view was created by joining of one feature class (point feature), two attribute tables and one F table. We have to perform a process to export all the features in that particular view from the development server and then import them to the production server. In total, there should be about 60,000 points.
Form our past experience (using Oracle DB 9i and ESRI ArcSDE 8.3); we spent about 15-20 minutes to complete the import-export procedure. However, after the system migration, the speed of the import-export procedures is extremely slow, which is talking about 2 hours for ONLY EXPORTING 5MB data.
We would like to seek advice in solving the above problems. THANKS!

Try to delete old stats, then gather new stats on the schema and try the export again.

  • OpenScript: 1.     How to move the scripts from one location to another location. in OpenScript; Copy, paste or Import, export

How to move the scripts from one location to another location. Copy, paste or Import, export

Both way you can do.. Difference is - if you copy paste to another folder script dependencies will not move with the same( ie Assets added), whereas if you export and import the script all dependencies will be correlated automatically

  • Use of Import and Export script

    Hi,
Can any one tel me what is the use of Import and Export script.
After moving the pages from / into server what is the need of giving the import / export command.
    export /oracle/apps/ap/setup/webui/customizations/site/0/SetupPG -rootdir <destination path> -username <data base user name> -password <data base password> -dbconnection "(description = (address_list = (address = (community = tcp.world)(protocol = tcp)(host =<hostname> (port = <port id>)))(connect_data = (sid = <sid>)))".
    Thanks in Advance,
    Jegan

And Export/Import is also used to move personalizations and substitutions from one system to another system.
You can also use Functional administrator UI to export and import pages.
Functional administrator in turn uses export/import internally.

    hi
Examples of Using Different Releases of Export and Import
Table 19-7 shows some examples of which Export and Import releases to use when moving data between different releases of the Oracle database.
Table 19-7 Using Different Releases of Export and Import
Export from->Import to Use Export Release Use Import Release
    8.1.6 -> 8.1.6 8.1.6 8.1.6
    8.1.5 -> 8.0.6 8.0.6 8.0.6
    8.1.7 -> 8.1.6 8.1.6 8.1.6
    9.0.1 -> 8.1.6 8.1.6 8.1.6
    9.0.1 -> 9.0.2 9.0.1 9.0.2
    9.0.2 -> 10.1.0 9.0.2 10.1.0
    10.1.0 -> 9.0.2 9.0.2 9.0.2
Restrictions When Using Different Releases and Versions of Export and Import
The following restrictions apply when you are using different releases of Export and Import:
1.Export dump files can be read only by the Import utility because they are stored in a special binary format.
2.Any export dump file can be imported into a later release of the Oracle database.
3.The Import utility cannot read export dump files created by the Export utility of a later maintenance release or version. For example, a release 9.2 export dump file cannot be imported by a release 9.0.1 Import utility.
4.Whenever a lower version of the Export utility runs with a later version of the Oracle database, categories of database objects that did not exist in the earlier version are excluded from the export.
5.Export files generated by Oracle9i Export, either direct path or conventional path, are incompatible with earlier releases of Import and can be imported only with Oracle9i Import. When backward compatibility is an issue, use the earlier release or version of the Export utility against the Oracle9i database.

  • Export With Preset to X-Rite problem

Using LR 4; first time using LR at all.
I did one "Export With Preset to X-Rite" and it worked. Now, with different lighting, I tried to Export with Preset and it doesn't give me the option for a new name, it just asks if I want to overwrite the existing one.
Am I missing something? I should be able to have multiple profiles.
    Thanks.

Pages' RTF export is somewhat limited. This seems to be one of the non-supported features.
I am pretty sure that you found the best solution exporting to Word, and then to RTF from Word.
Apple seem to appreciate feedback on this kind of things at http://www.apple.com/feedback/pages.html .

  • IMPORT & EXPORT from/to compressed files directly...

for newbies a tip to import(export) directly to(from) compressed files using pipes . Its for Unix based systems only, as I am not aware of any pipe type functionality in Windows. The biggest advantage is that you can save lots of space as uncompressing a file makes it almost 5 times or more. (Suppose you are uncompressing a file of 20 GB, it will make 100 GB) As a newbie I faced this problem, so thought about writing a post.
Lets talk about export first. The method used is that create a pipe, write to a pipe(ie the file in exp command is the pipe we created), side by side read the contents of pipe, compress(in the background) and redirect to a file. Here is the script that achieves this:
    export ORACLE_SID=MYDB
    rm -f ?/myexport.pipe
    mkfifo ?/myexport.pipe
    cat ?/myexport.pipe |compress > ?/myexport.dmp.Z &
    sleep 5
exp file=?/myexport.pipe full=Y log=myexport.logSame way for import, we create a pipe, zcat from the dmp.Z file, redirect it to the pipe and then read from pipe:
    export ORACLE_SID=MYDB
    rm -f ?/myimport.pipe
    mkfifo ?/myimport.pipe
    zcat ?/myexport.dmp.Z > ?/myimport.pipe &
    sleep 5
imp file=myimport.pipe full=Y show=Y log=?/myimport.logIn case there is any issue with the script, do let me know :)
Experts, please have a look...is it fine ? (Actually I dont have Oracle installed on my laptop(though have Fedora 6) so couldnt test the scripts)
I posted the same on my blog too. just for bookmark ;)
    Sidhu
    http://amardeepsidhu.blogspot.com

actually, only the compression thing runs in the background. rest proceeds like normal only. just instead of giving normal file we use pipe as a file.
    nice article about named pipes
