Import/Export with no rows option

Dear friends,
I have to perform import few schemas, viz RDS, SDS, ADS.
RDS & SDS ( reporting db schema, staging db schema) should be imported with data and ADS without data. In a single import, is that possible? If so, how to import it?

I want to import it, since that schema is archive schema, data is not important, so import process will get over soon and why I want to do two import, one is with data and another is without data.

IMPORT PO - WITH PART1 ONLY OPTION

I need to have part1 only option for import puchase secnerio.. where i'm not able to post the excise invoice .
my req is as bleow,
1- capture customs boe in miro
2- GR with part1 only1 option in migo
3- capture the exicse inv in j1iex
4- post the excise inv in j1iex
in this method, i'm not able to post the exicse invoice, since part1 is not updating. where as in domestic its working fine with same abv steps!!! where in import its not working??? any experts, pls help..

Please adopt corrected steps to capture & post excise in import process.
1. Create p.o,capture customs/excise duties in p.o from bill of exchange.
2.Create customs miro from purchase order using planned delivery option.
3.Capture excise using J1IEX referring customs invoice no. & year.
4. Do migo,in it select option refer excise invoice only or when you enter vendor excise no. & date,option will automatically
change to refer excise invoice.
5.Finally post excise invoice using J1IEX with reference to vendor excise invoice no.
6. Create invoice for orginal vendor.

Firefox freezes trying to download or save files, Import/Export bookmarks, clicking (Tools) Options (was: Fire Fox crashes in Windows safe mode and in Firefox Safe mode)

Firefox 6.0.2
Firefox crashes every time I do any of the following. Then I have to force quit Fire fox.
If i click a download link on a web page, Firefox freezes the instant I click the link
...but Firefox does not freeze if I click a web link on a web page or page navigation link.
If i go to the Menu bar > Tools > Options, Firefox freezes the instant I select Options from the Tools menu.
...but Firefox does not freeze if select any other item from the Tools menu.
If I go to the Menu bar > File, Firefox instantly freezes the instant I select either "Save Page as..." or "Open file..."
...but Firefox does not freeze if I select any other option from the File menu such as: New Tab, New Window, Send Link, page Setup, Print, Exit etc
If I go the Menu Bar > Bookmarks > Show all Bookmarks > Import and Backup, Firefox instantly freezes the second I select "Import" or "Export"
... but Firefox does not freeze if I select any other command in the Bookmarks sub menus, nor does it freeze if I back out of the menu entirely.
Same as above for History if I select "Import" or "Export"
...so I have isolated the problem to a limited number of commands in Firefox that cause Firefox to freeze... described above. Everything else in Firefox works fine.
HERE IS A SUMMARY OF WHAT CAUSES THE FREEZING:
• Clicking a download link on a webpage
• Going to the Menu Bar > File and selecting "save as" or "Open File"
• Going to the Menu bar > Tools and selecting Options.
• Going to Bookmarks > Show all Bookmarks > Import and Backup and selecting either "Import" or "Export"
• Same as above for History if I select "Import" or "Export"
Everything else in Firefox works fine. I went through every menu command and checked for freezes. Only the commands I mentioned above cause the freezing.
I tried the following to try to fix it:
• Reset my modem and router (Problem still exists)
• Uninstalled FF. Deleted folders, profiles (Downloads.sqlite), Registry entries. Reinstalled. (Problem still exists)
• Restarted FF in Firefox safe mode. (Problem still exists)
• Restarted in Windows Safe mode and then started FF in Firefox safe mode (Problem still exists)
• Disabled Window firewall. Disabled ZoneAlarm firewall, Shutdown ZoneAlarm firewall. Set Internel Options to default settings. (Problem still exists)
• I reset the config option: browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone to false
What does work?
• Firefox does not crash when I click a link an go a website, navigate a page, use a menu item command.
• Firefox works fine on my other computer.
• Internet Explorer works fine on the computer that Firefox is having a problem on.
• My other applications work fine on the computer that Firefox is having a problem on.
I want to add that, I just overcame the XP Recovery Virus by following a post that suggested running the following software to fix the virus. Everything seems back to normal except Firefox.
The software I ran to fix the problem are listed below:
• malwarebytes
• superantispyware
• ccleaner
• combofix.
• smart defrag
• then load a good anti-virus. (I ran Zone Alarm virus scan)

This is about a question you posted to the Firefox Support forum three months ago (I'm sorry you never got an answer).
Did you ever fix the problem where Firefox freezes or hangs, when clicking a download link or using (File menu) "save as" or "open file"? Or when going to the Firefox (Tools) menu and clicking Options ? Or trying to Import or Export bookmarks?

Import/Export with generic ODBC

HI,I work with Hyperion Integration Services API to migrate DB schema (in using commandes like IMPORTMODEL / IMPORTMOTL...) in several environments. I'd like to supress ODBC drivers for each database and use a generique ODBC. Can I use parameters with IMPORTMODEL to realize this ? Do other commandes exist to performing same tasks?Thanks on advance for your help.

Export/import masters *with* adjustments?

I've a Mac Pro with my main Aperture installation, and a Mac Book with an Aperture installation for when I'm travelling. I would like to export masters and the adjustments from the Aperture library in the Mac Book and import them in the Aperture library in the Mac Pro.
Any advice? Aperture 2.1.

OK, I figured it out myself. Here's what I did. If you do this and manage to mess things up, it's your responsibility.
I have an external hard drive with a vault that contains the backups of the images on my Mac Book. I connected that drive to my Mac Pro. I showed the vault's contents with Finder, and similarly the Mac Pro's library contents. I copied the X.approject that contains the files I want to import/export with adjustments and other metadata from the vault to Mac Pro's library. Then I started Aperture by pressing Option/Command, and rebuilt the library.
It worked fine, I have the ratings and white balances etc. copied with the images.

UNDO_RETENTION is a request, not a mandate. If your UNDO tablespace is too small, Oracle may have to discard UNDO segments before UNDO_RETENTION is reached.
How much UNDO is your database generating every second?

Import/export route targets from E-BGP ?

Yes you can do it this way as well, without the MP-EBGP peering between the both AS's RR's. (You have missed the multi-hop neighbor statement)
This will achieve the RT exchange between the PE's, so next you will have to import that RT on the other side.
Once you have the RT with the routes exchanged you will have VPN labels as well populated for the routes on the remote side.
Now you will have to implement a method to assign an IGP label on top of the VPN label (this label should be for the PE's loopback of AS 100 who advertised this route to AS 200)
In your case, you can use the send-label command at the ASBR's for the IGP route of the PE;s in their AS' with a label. For this you can redistribute IGP into BGP and again BGP into IGP (with a route-map matching only PE's loopback in their AS and the remote AS).
So you will effectively have 2 labels to switch traffic between the AS's (IGP and the VPN label).

Has anyone had issues with Administration\Data Import/Export\Data Import???
I have a client who has recently upgraded from V2007 to V8.81. They were succesfuly using this standard function to import supplier prices to their master price list, but now it has failed?
I have looked at the file they are importing and it appears to be fine.
On closer inspection, it did contain approx 46,000 entries, so I took the first 1,000 and created a test file, which imported fine.
The only issue I found was Speed, with the test file of 1,000 records taking about 30 Mins to import. This appeared to get slower and slower the further through the file it got!
Based on this, I have estimated that the whole file would takle about 13 hours to import. The client say that when they used to run it on version 2007 it was far quicker?
In practice, it does appear to run, but the speed is the issue. Having said this, I set the whole file to run last night (over night)and this morning it had appeared to hang after about 2,307 rows, with nothing else being updated.
Has anyone any ideas or is aware of performance issues like this?

I have uploaded a copy of their database onto my test system and run the same routine. Its equally as SLOW
I can't gauage if its an issue with 8.81 that 2007 didn't have, as I only have the client's word on it, however I have no reason to disbelieve them.

Storage allocation at full import with no rows

The export was done with rows=n on the main server Oracle ver 8. To import the dump, it seems the disk volume needs to be as big as on the server (even though no data are imported).
On the computer we are using for the import there is not enough disk space. I tried to preprocess the dump and replace INITIAL storage parameters of all objects to be minimal 4K. I cannot go beyond 16K at the table creation. I think that tablespace creation should be suited differently?
Do you have any other idea how the dump with rows=n can be imported to the computer with smaller disk volume than original machine? (i.e. 40 GB instead 300 GB)

The imp process is aware of the storage allocation information on the objects exported and is influenced by the compress=y|n option used on export.
On import Oracle will attempt to create the tables and indexes using the storage clause information extracted from production in conjunction with the target tablespace storage parameters to pick a size to use in allocation of the object.
With dictionary management on both sides and the default compress=n on exp in use, imp will attempt to create the table or index with a single extent equal to the object allocation size on production. This can quickly exhaust the test space. When uniform extents are in use Oracle will pre-allocate enough extents to equal the requested size (at least in 8i).
I suggest you make the export with compress=n and pre-allocate any large objects you want/need to shrink. This will require using the ignore=y option on the import. When test is only a fraction of the size of production you may find it necessary to pre-allocate all your objects the first time you refresh from production to resize everything.

Export/import text with all styles (indesign CS3 (XP SP2))

I'm looking for the best way to export text so authors can edit their text using MS Word, Excel or xml. (they don't want to use Indesign). after they are done editting I want to import the text back into Indesign (with par, char, obj styles).
I know how to import/export to .doc with styles, but this doesn't work for table, object styles, and page breaks.
Xml tags or plugin/software might be a solution.
I've searched the forums, google and read the help file, but still don't know what the best/quickest solution might be. ... ?

1. Those programs don't support every feaature of InDesign, so you are out of luck.
2. If they don't want to use InDesign, ask them to use InCopy, that is the only one programm which supports the whole InDesgin-functionlity
3. Page breaks should never be done manually, never in Word, neither with InDesign. They should be created via paragraph styles in both program, but with the import options is a checker to get Word's page breaks.

Import the table with 0 rows

Hi
I have a problem to import a dump that contains the tables with 0 rows.
When i exported from ORACLE 11.2 64 bit on SERVER 2008 i noticed that log didn't confirm the tables with 0 rows.
When i want to import to ORACLE 11.2 64 bit on other SERVER 2008 i have a lot of errors on this tables with 0 rows.
In the log i get the same tables with 1 row at least, but no one with 0 rows.
I open my dump in TEXTPAD and i see it contains "CREATE ....." these tables.
I don't understand why it happens. I used FUll DUMP by SYS, it didn't help.
This is not first time when i export and import dumps,no errors.
I'm using command "EXP" and "IMP" and every time it's ok.(IF it's a releavent)
Why it happens? any solutions for this issue?

The reason for this behavior is 11.2 new feature ‘Deferred Segment Creation‘ – the creation of a table sent is deferred until the first row is inserted.
As a result, empty tables are not listed in dba_segments and are not exported by exp utility

In addition, creation of segments is deferred for any LOB columns of the table, any indexes created implicitly as part of table creation, and any indexes subsequently explicitly created on the table.The advantages of this space allocation method are the following:A significant amount of disk space can be saved for applications that create hundreds or thousands of tables upon installation, many of which might never be populated.Application installation time is reduced.There is a small performance penalty when the first row is inserted, because the new segment must be created at that time.
To enable deferred segment creation, compatibility must be set to '11.2.0' or higher. You can disable deferred segment creation by setting the initialization parameter DEFERRED_SEGMENT_CREATION to FALSE. The new clauses SEGMENT CREATION DEFERRED and SEGMENT CREATION IMMEDIATE are available for the CREATE TABLE statement. These clauses override the setting of the DEFERRED_SEGMENT_CREATION initialization parameter.
+Note that when you create a table with deferred segment creation (the default), the new table appears in the _TABLES views, but no entry for it appears in the SEGMENTS views until you insert the first row. The original Export utility does not export any table that was created with deferred segment creation and has not had a segment created for it. The most common way for a segment to be created is to store a row into the table, though other operations such as ALTER TABLE ALLOCATE EXTENTS will also create a segment. If a segment does exist for the table and the table is exported, the SEGMENT CREATION DEFERRED clause will not be included in the CREATE TABLE statement that is executed by the original Import utility.

Select-options with 2 rows

You can use the header line of sel003 to append these values to the selection table sel003 (actually sel003 is the name of the header line as well as the table created using SELECT-OPTIONS sel003 for.... statement).
APPEND sel002 TO gpart_r.
APPEND sel003 TO vtref_r.

sel003-sign = 'I'.
sel003-option = 'BT'. "between for a range
sel003-low = 'B00000'.
sel003-high = 'B99999'.
append sel003.
clear sel003." this will clear the header line sel003

Using header lines is an obsolete way in ABAP Objects context, try avoiding it.

OWB is not showing some default options like contol center,import/export

Oracle (11.2.0.1.0) databse is installed on linux.
it is successfully installed on linx.
when i am trying to login to OWB GUI with owbowner/owbwoner.it is opend successfully.
1)when i right click on that 'MY_PROJECT' it is not showing any options like NEW,validate,import/export .
2)Under TOOL tab,control centre is not showing
3)Under TOOL tab,in preferences,it not showing OWB Environment properties
Like this way lot of default options are not showing.
Can anybody help on this issuue........?

Importing/Exporting clock reference with 5133

Hello-
I am using SignalExpress for some simple DAQ. I would like to either import or export a clock reference to lock to my signal source, but have been unsuccessful.
Signal Express does have a tab in which I can choose the PFI1 as the reference clock, however I"m greeted with the following...
Error -1074135022
Possible reason(s):
Attribute or property not supported.
Device: Dev2
Property: Reference Clock Source
Status Code: -200197
The 5133 manual suggest that importing/exporting the clock is in fact an option.
Is it just not an option through Signal Express? Do I need to make my own VI with the DAQ-mx VI's? Maybe the reference I'm providing it is incorrect and it knows?

After some more investigation...it appears that you cannot export the reference or sample clocks OUT on the PFI line of the 5133.
However...it does appear that you can IMPORT a reference clock.
As mentioned above...SignalExpress doesn't seem very happy when you try to do this.

...where the author makes their own scope using the NI-SCOPE VI's.
I modified the program using the ConfigureClock.VI to import a reference...however only with the same error message of this task not being supported by this device.

Export and import tables with and without data

I have few table which i want to take export with data and some without data, and import that in new db? Send me the command plz for this.

exp and imp all have a flag
ROWS import data rows (Y/N)
but that flag apply to the whole export/import process.
You will need do export twice,
ROWS=Y first with list of tables that need data
and ROWS=N with list of tables without data.
