Import files from Panasonic HDC SD 300

When trying to upload scenes in the Import/Logging area all clips can be seen and previewd. But Status is always "!" and telling: "error - no data".
I suspect the camera model could be too new?
Anyone with the same camera and it works? Upgrade to 4.0.1 was OK.

I checked many discussions but see no solution for that issue. I tried the apple intermediate codec in the easy settings - no effect.
??? maybe its an easy mistake - but which one?

New Dad cannot import video from Panasonic HDC-SD1. Seeks help.

Hi all,
A few week ago I bought a Panasonic HDC-SD1 in preparation for the birth of my first-born. I tested it and it worked fine, importing in to iMovie 7.1 either direct from the camera, or via a USB card reader.
Since then I have updated to iMovie 7.1.1 (running on OSX 10.5.1 Intel iMac).
My beautiful baby boy was born two days ago, and I'm still unable to get the video into the Mac. Using direct camera connection or USB card reader the card mounts, but iMovie refuses to recognise any video to input. I've tried starting iMovie before and after connecting the card etc, but it just won't play ball.
Anyone any other tips to get this working? All was well with iMovie 7.1 - I tried re-installing the old version but it just crashes on being run.

Congratulations on your new baby (your son, I mean) and your new tool (toy). I have a 4-month old, which was my justification for buying the Sony CX7, he also helped me get a new DSLR. Now I'm trying to convince my wife that the baby needs a new Macbook Air.
The CX7 is also a flash based, AVCHD camcorder. For a quick solution to your problem, check out a program called Voltaic. It will batch transcode the AVCHD (.mts) files. This way, you don't need iMovie to recognize the camera, and you can move the .mts files off your flash card for archiving on a DVD, NAS, or external drive for future use. You can then delete the transcoded files after you complete your projects, since you can easily transcode again, if you want use the clips again in a future project. You will want to do this, because the transcoded files are much, much larger than the original .mts AVCHD files.

How do you download SDHC files from Panasonic HDC-TM900 camcorder to a MAC

i bought a panasonic HDC-TM900 camcorder. when i try to download files from the SDHC memory card, i only see
a still photo and it appears i cannot download files onto my MAC. the manual for this camcorder tells me that
i cannot download files from a SDHC memory card except onto a PC. however i am in a remote area and i do
not have access to a PC--only a MAC laptop.

I am also new to Firefox. From Firefox start screen click the add-ons icon. In the search box at top right type in " music downloads " and click the magnifying glass - many options will appear by clicking on the blue " more " of each option you will receive additional info. Hope this helps, I have used the Flash Video Downloader add-on with great results.

Import .MTS files from Panasonic HDC SD700 ( AVCHD )

Does anyone know how to import .MTS files with FCP7?
I have already tried it via the log and transfer way, that does not work for our .MTS files, even when I do it the same way described on this website for importing AVCHD footage from SDHC cards via the log and transfer.
Is there maybe a codec missing? Adobe Premiere can use the .MTS files natively.

The SDHC card gives 3 folders: MISC, PRIVATE and DCIM when I keep the original order and don't change anything in the folder it says when I use log and transfer-> adding files ->
"MISC" contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media.
All the properties shown after adding the files are 00:00:00:00 and I cannot play or preview the files in the log and transfer screen

M2ts files from panasonic HDC-HS60

I need some help please I have approx 5 hours footage from a Panasonic Handycam which is HD and need to edit in Prem CS5.5
Its m2ts and Prem says its an unsupported format. I have a subscription version of CS5.5 I thought it would handle this file type. Have Googled heaps and some say it Premierre will import this and others have same questions as me. Would there be someone here who can tell me if i need to convert it OR? download additional codecs

That is a supported format, and this is a bug. Deactivate Premiere Pro (in the Help menu), uninstall it, and then run the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool. After you run it once, reboot, and then run it again--that makes sure you get rid of everything. After a final reboot, reinstall Premiere Pro and reactivate; it should work this time.
It's a big, annoying bug that Adobe can't seem to shake, and why it happens appears to be random and without clear cause.

I'm guessing your files were MTS or something else, as I've never heard of an MPL file. You should ask your question over in the iMovie forum as this one deals specifically with Final Cut Express.

I don't have your model but here are some things to try.
1) Make sure you are powering the camcorder with AC power not batteries.
2) Open iMovie before connecting the Camcorder
3) Connect the USB Cable and turn on the camcorder
4) Open the LCD screen of the camcorder. Does it give you a choice of Pictbridge vs. PC Mode. If so, choose PC Mode.
5) iMovie import screen should come up.
Also, make sure you have installed all software updates. (/Software Update). If the software update requires you to restart your Mac, then restart your Mac before proceeding. Install iMovie, iLife, Quicktime, and Leopard updates.
If that still does not work, try taking out your SD card and putting in a USB card reader.
If that still does not work, put the card back in the camcorder and make a disk image of the card using disk utility. After making the disk image, try formatting the card using your camcorder menu. Then retry shooting some footage and importing.
By the way, using MPEG streamclip should not create files any larger than iMovie will create using an import function.

Can you locate the iTunes Library.itl file on the old drive? Ideally you would have simply copied over the entire iTunes folder structure from <User's Music> on the old computer into <User's Music> on the new one to transfer the library will all playlists, ratings, play counts etc. intact.

iTunes will only import music from your phone that was purchased from the iTunes store. To transfer music from other sources you have to use 3rd party software, such as PhoneView.

Your profile says you have OS X version 10.6.8 - iPhoto 9.3 will not work with that OS - you do not tell us what version of iPhoto you have
so once again the actual exact error message and a list of what you have tried and the actual versions of iPhoto and of the OS that you are running would be a big help
Then if I post a question to apple support i need a solution otherways...
