Import files from Wondershare ripper

I have my own old DVDs which I would like to import into my computer and then into FCE to re-edit. I was able to download it via Wondershare DVD ripper - it comes out as mp4 file. When I import it into FCE - there is a red line on thectop of video file that says - fce does not support. I tried also to export Wondershare mp4 file into QT and the problem stays the same. Would anyoe know or have experience with Wondershare? Nada

MPEG Streamclip needs the Apple QT MPEG2 Component (aka MPEG-2 Playback Component) to convert DVDs.
In my original reply above, I told you to read the MPEG Streamclip instructions about how to install the Apple QT MPEG2 Component. It cannot be installed directly on Lion or Mt. Lion, as you found out when you tried to do it. The MPEG Streamclip instructions explain how to install the component on Lion/Mt Lion. For your convenience, here is a copy of those instructions, from the front page of the MPEG Streamclip website:
Lion/Mountain Lion and MPEG-2 Playback Component
The installer of the MPEG-2 Playback Component may refuse to install the component in Lion and Mountain Lion. Apple states the component is unnecessary in Lion and Mountain Lion, however MPEG Streamclip still needs it.
To install the component in Lion or Mountain Lion, please download MPEG Streamclip 1.9.3b8 beta above; inside the disk image you will find the Utility MPEG2 Component M. Lion: use it to install the MPEG-2 Playback Component in Lion or Mountain Lion. The original installer's disk image (QuickTimeMPEG2.dmg) is required.
The current versions of MPEG Streamclip cannot take advantage of the built-in MPEG-2 functionality of Lion and Mountain Lion. For MPEG-2 files you still need to install the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component, which is not preinstalled in Lion and Mountain Lion. You don't have to install QuickTime 7.
After you install the QT MPEG2 Component, MPEG Streamclip will be able to convert your DVD to other formats. If you want to edit the video in FCE, convert your DVD videos to QuickTime, using one of the following two compression options in MPEG Streamclip:
Apple DV/DVCPRO NTSC - if your DVD is standard 4:3 video (North America)
Apple Intermediate Codec - if your DVD is 16:9 widescreen video
After selecting the compression, MPEG Streamclip should set all the other options as needed. Normally you don't have to adjust them. But do check the Frame Size to verify that it matches your video.
Also, in FCE make sure you select the appropriate Easy Setup and create a new Sequence before importing the converted video clips into FCE.

Can you locate the iTunes Library.itl file on the old drive? Ideally you would have simply copied over the entire iTunes folder structure from <User's Music> on the old computer into <User's Music> on the new one to transfer the library will all playlists, ratings, play counts etc. intact.

iTunes will only import music from your phone that was purchased from the iTunes store. To transfer music from other sources you have to use 3rd party software, such as PhoneView.

Your profile says you have OS X version 10.6.8 - iPhoto 9.3 will not work with that OS - you do not tell us what version of iPhoto you have
so once again the actual exact error message and a list of what you have tried and the actual versions of iPhoto and of the OS that you are running would be a big help
Then if I post a question to apple support i need a solution otherways...

How do I import files from My Canon XF300 into FCPX

This is driving me mad, I am trying to import files from my Canon XF300 into FCPX I have tried everything but no sucess any help would be welcomed.

Sorry, I mis-spoke. I do have Canon Utility installed on my SL machine, but have used it mainly as a file review interface and as a backup utility. My MXF files are then brought in via Log & Transfer in FCP 7, which requires one of the plug-ins (and as you noted, does not work with FCPX).
In the majority of situations I'm ingesting on location to a MBP running Lion. In that case, I have the option of importing them either into FCP7 or FCPX.
A came across this hack for getting the Canon plug-in to install on SL. It looks straightforward but I haven't tried it, so if you do, proceed at your risk. As for me, my plans are to partition my drive later this month and boot from both 10.6 and 10.7 as necessary.

You can take back up of the catalog in PSE12 and restore it in PSE13 or you can use convert feature(Catalog Manger(shortcut:Ctrl+Shift+C)-->convert) in PSE13. It will be a good option if you want to move all files from PSE12's catalog.

Import file from another CMS (SharePoint) repository

Given:
Documents reside in various SharePoint Site Collections.
Book is saved to Site Collection #1
Using FrameMaker's CMS functionality, I am able to easily browse multiple repositories (each repository representing a connection to a different SharePoint Site Collection).
How can I import, via reference or copy, a file from Site Collection #2? The options to browse to another repository, by URL, or by local file system are grayed out. It would appear that I am only able to import files from within the same site collection that my book exists in.

Is this a bug or limitation of the software? Any chance this will be fixed in an upcoming update?

Lightroom is a complete stand alone program and does not require you to have any other Adobe product on your computer.
Adobe Camera Raw is a plugin for Photoshop CS and is not require by Lightroom nor is it used by Lightroom.
However if you are using both Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS6 /Photoshop CC and wish them to 100% compatible then you will need to update the ACR Plugin in Photoshop.
Lightroom 5.7 will work fine with your Canon 7dMk2. (Its internal processing engine is the equivalent of ACR 8.7)
To wit LR 5.7 is an alternative to ACR 8.7 Plugin in Photoshop, you do not necessarily need both.

venkiTo move data between 8i and 11g, you need to use original export/import utility.
You need to run export of 8i using 8i version exp and import the dump file into 11g database using 11g version imp.

Yes, if it is something that was installed as part of OSX to start with. If you're missing Onyx, well that isn't part of Apple's software and you'll have to get it from the source.
Depending upon the significance of the application there are ways do a custom installation of software rather than the whole operating system. I use a much older operating system version so I cannot be very reliable on the specifics.

LR 5.5 Doesn't work. Won't import files from Sony or Canon

Since initially downloading LR 5, I have been unable to import files from my Canon 7D, Canon 5D Mk3, or my Sony Nex 7. All three cameras are running the latest firmware versions.
I'm using an Apple 27" IMac, with 3.4GHz Intel I7, with 16Gb 1333Mhz DDR3 ram.
The ONLY way I've gotten LR 5.X to import any images has been to move them from the memory card, to a folder on the desktop, and then import them from that folder.
Anything else I try results in a dialogue box that tells me the images can't be imported.
LR4 works just fine, and I have no issues importing files from any of my three cameras with it.

When I try to import anything, a dialogue box pops up, titled "Import Results"
Below that, it says "Some import operations were not performed",
Then, below that, it says "The following files were not imported because they could not be read." And it then lists individually all the images I tried to import.
I then have the option to "Save As", or "Ok".
When I click "Ok", it ejects the card, and "No photos in Current Import" appears in the middle of the screen.

Cannot import files from hard drive

I just got an iPod and downloaded iTunes (for Windows). I imported some music from CDs, but I can't import files from my hard drive. I've tried adding them as files and in a folder. Every time, nothing happens. I don't get an error message, but the songs don't show up anywhere in iTunes or on my iPod. Can anyone help me?
P.S. They are .aac files.

Can you confirm that you are following one of the methods in the Add to Library section of this article in the Apple Knowledge Base.
In particular, pay attention to the statement that "iTunes adds entries in your iTunes library for the selected files, and copies the files to your iTunes Music folder (if you have that option selected in the Advanced pane of iTunes preferences)."
