Import Frames to Layers controls are missing

Hello,
I'm trying to import a .MOV file to get all the pictures out. But I can't see the controls under the preview.
What can I do to fix this?
Specs: Photoshop CS3
Windows XP 64-Bit
8GB ram - AMD Phenom II X4 955
Also, I wish there wasn't a limit on only importing 500 frames.

Nothing. This is an issue in Quicktime on 64bit systems that Apple stubbornly refuses to address. It's the same when you view QT files in your browser on a 64bit OS... The control elements are actually there, they are just "invisible".

Well, if that's an issue, you may be looking at the wrong program. After Effects is your friend for proper video-centric tasks.

Photoshop cs5 avi import frames to layers HELP!!

on my 2009 macbook i have photoshop cs5 which allows me to make gifs by importing frames to layers on avi files only. now i have put cs5 onto my new macbook pro which does not allow mp4 or anything else, but when you select the avi files no video comes up it is just blank and on some files you can hear a distorted sound from the video if you click the play button. does anyone know why this is? is it to do with quicktime on the new macbook pro not supporting avi? why does everything always change this is so frustrating, what is the point of this laptop if i cant even do the basic stuff i was doing on my old (but slow) macbook? $2000 just to use the internet is not worth it, thinking of returning if i cant fix it. any help would be great!

Does "all steps" include ensuring 'View > Show > 3D Lights' is enabled and 'View > Extras' is enabled when the Lighting Effects filter is active?

Upgraded to mavericks now some function controls are missing e.g. no add icon in reader

Please reinstall itunes" This I have done. obviously I cannot burn CDs but worse still is my ipod is not being recognised by itunes and will not sync. I have not installed any new burning softeware. Itunes 8 "Drive for importing and burning CD/DVD are missing"

I downloaded ITUNES 8 two weeks ago and, like many, have been receiving this message since. THE REGISTRY SETTINGS USED BY THE ITUNES DRIVER FOR IMPORTING AND BURNING CD'S AND DVD'S ARE MISSING. Can anyone offer a fix/solution? (BTW...When I downloaded ITUNES 8, it also blew away QUICKTIME).

I was having the same problem...actually for the last year and I found this info last week and followed the info and now so far everything is good. I finally can burn a cd in itunes and all my cd,dvd and media drives are in place and working.

The regsitry setting used by the I tunes drivers for importing adn burning CD's & Dvd's are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. I have re-installed I tunes several times uninstalling all components in the correct order. Also put registry settings in the registry editor for the device filter and still am getting this message.

I get the following error message in the latest version of iTunes on start-up
The Registry Settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and Burning CD's and DVD's are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes.
I tried troubleshooting from a guide on another apple support page and it worked but stopped the DVD Drive working and I have tried reinstalling iTunes but that failed and I don't know what to do and how to get rid of this error on start-up of iTunes

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Audio track souce controls are missing

The source controls for both audio tracks have suddenly disappeared my time line. It doesn't matter if I open old projects or create new ones, they're not there. I can't find anything about toggling them on or off. The destination track targeting controls are still there.
Is this a feature that can be removed (but why would anyone want to do that) or do you think perhaps there's a glitch in the software (and if so, what to do about it) ?
And, of course, this has happened 4 days before my deadline.
Any tips or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

There may be nothing in the Viewer that relates to them.
Open a clip from The Timeline with known audio, what happens?
Try trashing the FCE preferences if you can't get them back.

Home Sharing Problem: Import Button & "Show" Dropdown menu are missing?

Hi Everyone,
My wife and I are both running iTunes on Macbook Pros and we are both logged into eachother's iTunes libraries through Home Sharing accounts. However, the Import button on the bottom has disappeared, so has the "Show" dropdown menu that is typically to the left of the Import button on the bottom of the screen when you are in the other person's Music Library. The Show dropdown memu typically displays the options: All and Not in Library. We can play and listen to each other's music, however we can't Import songs. Can anyone help me troubleshoot this problem??

To clarify as I have this problem repeatedly here is the description and the cure.
Sharing is enabled in the sharing tab. Other computers can see this computers library but cannot import. The icon for the home sharing doesn't show the "house" - it just shows some musical notes.
This means that home sharing is not enabled. JUST SHARING.
In Itunes 11 use: File/Menu/Home Sharing/Turn on Home sharing.
But you are not done.
When home sharing shows up now in the left panel - click it. The right panel will present a sign on for your apple ID. Sign on and enable home sharing.
Then you will be able to import form the target computer again.
It gets disabled with OS upgrades and sometimes with iTunes updates.

After an update to CS5 ACR (now at 6.7.0.339) last year, some controls are missing.

1. Clicking on preferences now only shows some baic settings in 'General' - 'Thumbnail, Playback, Metadata, Keywords, Labels, File Type Associations, Cache, Startup Scripts, Advanced & Output' are gone.
2. The sliders under Lens Correction for Chromatic Abberation fringing have been replaced by a check box.

The last version of 6.7 had some major changes and I think it went to the new system that ACR 7.x uses. Here is a web excerpt.

Camera Raw 7.1 provides a checkbox to automatically correct blue-yellow and red-green fringes (lateral chromatic aberration). Slider controls correct purple/magenta and green aberration (axial chromatic aberration). Axial chromatic aberration often occurs in images made with large apertures.

When is Adobe going to overhaul 'import frames to layers' in PS?

I think it's absolutely genius, but I dislike the setup of the window design. It's been the same for the longest.
For the most part, everything is good, except when choosing the frames.
I've had trouble choosing good areas to edit even with videos that are 5 minutes in length. It's terrible to find the right spot for very lengthy videos/movies.
Why cant there be a timestamp option? [input the exact spot you'd like the frames to begin]
What about tweaking the adjustors to stop skipping like 20 frames at a time [on longer videos]?
Adding in a mouse scrolling option?
Frame zoom option [as if it were in Premiere Pro or something]?
All of the above? lol

Was having trouble burning CD. Uninstalled iTunes from PC the reinstalled iTunes. The first installation I got a messaghe saying that download was interrupted. I restarted te download and completed it. Then got another error message that a registry file was missing that is used in downloading and burning CD-s. I figured with a fresh download, it should have been fixed???? Solution anyone and thanks?

HT1349 Error message: "The registry settings used to import CD's & DVD's are missing" afterdoing a complete uninstall, and new, clean re-install if iTunes 10.0.7.21 on a PC running Win 7 Pro, 64-bit? Any help would be appreciated. - Thanks

I received this after performing a complete un-install, ran a utility to clean the registry, re-booted, then downloaded and re-installed the latest version of iTunes (10.0.7.21) This was the same error message I received before performing the steps above. Any advice or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
