Import from Adobe Album 1.0?

Is there a way to import Adobe Album 1.0 photos and metadata into Photoshop Elements 12?  I believe Album is the precursor to Elements.
Thanks

How can I import all my photos (& related database)  from Adobe Album keeping all tags ?
Having Adobe Album 11 (Adobe Photoshop & Premiere Elements 11),  & latest version of Aperture & Mac OS X

You can import photos to Aperture but there's no way to import an Adobe database.
To get the photos is a two step process
    1. Export form the adobe app while writing all the keywords and metadata to the exported files. For details on that you'll need to see the Help on that app.
    2. Import to Aperture. If the metadata is correctly written to the Exif and IPTC Aperture will get it all.

  • Import from Photoshop Album PSA to Lightroom (same in Elements?)

    Hi,
here my experience with the import from Photoshop Album to Lightroom.
    1. Tags and Collection import
    > OK
    2. Tagging of the imported images
    > NOT ALL of the imported pictures where Tagged!!!
This is really annoying, as you have no way to know it
    before you search for them.
    3. Import of the edited version of the pictures
    > When a picture as been edited in Album, only the ORIGINAL one
is imported in Lightroom, not the edited one.
    > At least, the edited one could have been imported with the original
    in a stack!!
Import functionality is crap for now if you ask me.
    What is your experience?

Because I've used PSA, PS and now CS2 and 3 for years, I had really hoped--indeed, assumed--that LR would be an elegant and trouble-free solution with which to migrate a large and growing catalog away from the slowness and lack of view in PSA, as well as adding RAW-handling ability (since storage dropped through the floor, I shoot JPEG and RAW by default). While the LR interface is pretty and the fleur-de-lis whimsical, LR is in my admittedly-limited experience neither elegant nor trouble-free from a database perspective. Perhaps in a few versions it will be, but it isn't now. The PSA import was a joke, operations are slow, and despite preference settings, it fires up whenever I hook up anything which XP considers to be an external drive. I have since licensed a previously-installed demo copy of IMatch, which I'd been holding off doing based on my flased LR assumption. Importing PSA to IMatch requires some simple under-the-hood work in Access (there are posted routines to accomplish this), but once that was done the import was flawless, with all PSA tags in their own cubbyhole and associated with the proper images. Why Adobe didn't facilitate this is a real head-scratcher.

I just upgraded from Adobe Album 3.2 to Elements 11.  My events and places are listed as keywords, but not properly listed under the events an places category. Only people are correct .  How do I fix?

Captivate 8 Continually Crashes: When trying to publish, When trying to use the Object Style Manager. Also it is blocked by Windows Firewall (adobecaptivatews) every time it launches. Working with Captivate App Packager the pane to import from Adobe Edge is missing, so not clear how to import. Overall it seems unstable. Am I doing something wrong? Trying to evaluate before buying so working on a trial version (14 days left), but a bit concerned with Captivate 8 Performance. Please help! :-

    Hi Vikram and Lilybiri,
    Thanks for your responses :-)
I'm working on Windows 8.1... I think that I may have found the issue... I was saving the file in a project directory rather than the default My Captivate Projects folder...
Perhaps Captivate was struggling to find resources it needed?
It hasn't crashed for a while now, though it is struggling - I'm working with a 54 slide PPT presentation that is linked and it takes a very long time to interact.
Sometimes it says that I've removed slides, which I haven't?
    Best,
    Christy.

  • Importing from Photoshop Album

Hi. I have Photoshop Album 2. As it is long outdated, I want to import all the tags, etc from the photos into Adobe Bridge. I have not found a way to do so. Hence I decided the next best thing was to migrate the photos with tags into Photoshop.com.
However, this also does not work as the instructions say to select to share to photoshop.com.
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/870/cpsid_87065.html#main_How do I migrate my photographs in Adobe Photoshop Album to Photoshop.com?
This does not work because the photoshop album, does not offer the choice of sharing with photoshop.com, even after I tried every variety of adding that option in.
Can anyone please help me successfully import the photos, with tags into either photoshop.com or adobe bridge from Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0? I REALLY do not want to retag 10,000+ photos.
p.s. I have Adobe CS4 Bridge, Photoshop, etc. I do not have Elements
    Thank you.

Thank you so much it worked - the only thing that didn't transfer was the folder pics I'd chosen for the tags so that didn't take long to redo - many thanks - I'd never have found that. It would have been so much more obvious if it showed 'open' or 'select catalogue' rather than just the word 'catalogue' with no other options visible from the dropdown menu.
    Happy Bunny here!

  • No caption when photos imported from Adobe to iPhoto

I've imported some photos from Adobe Photoshop Elements to iPhoto, but the caption doesn't come across to the iMac.  Anyone tell me how to make that happen?   tx

Make sure Elements is writing the metadata to the File before you import it.

  • Import from Picasa - Album names

I'm in the process of migrating from Picasa to Lightroom and have a number of questions.  I'm posing these separately to help others search later Should the thread be worthwhile.
One is:   Is there a way to get the Picasa album name into metadata somehow (presumably as a keyword)?
I will be setting a keyword to indicate the images come from Picasa.

Please bear with me, I think you have compressed a couple of steps.
You're suggesting that Picasa is embeding the album name in 'the' image file, either the edited copy or an exported version?
And that there is noting in LR or plug-ins to directly grab this data, rather I have to spelunk around the picasa forums & docs.
Ive been using Picasa in a somewhat unthoughtful manner (I suspect like many), both for library organisation and for most simple image adjustments.
Typically, after import from camera, basic adjustments are made, bad images deleted.
For  'events' (a vacation or Christmas) Id create an album and copy the non reject images there.  (Sometimes from 2, and on a couple of occasions, 3, cameras).
Then for major events, Id create a 'best of' album inside that.   The edits in the different albums may differ (mainly cropping).
My basic migration plan was to move the various image folders under one umbrella (using windows) then import that folder in one go to LR.
Ideally, in order not to lose anything Id like to import the whole mess as is.   Particularly including the original which handily are in a distinct folder.  However that leads to what was going to be the next question.
Am I correct that fundamentally Lightroom will be importing image folders (that happen to have been handled by Picasa)?  Thus folders will contain images in 3 states
    - unedited, ie original
    - edited but edits not saved, image file is still original
    - edited and saved, original image moved to 'originals' folder, and current image file updated.
Just to complicate things, because for a long time I did not fully understand how to use non-destructive editing, I would create different versions of an image with different file names as I experimented with different edits.   I dont expect to weed out those duplicates on migration; for the major collections Ill deal with it in Lightroom.  (many duplicates will just be deleted - but this is a rainy Sunday project to clean house).
So the next question is - how can I tell in LR what the 'status' of an image is (other than in the originals folder which is easy)?
Presumably a preparatory step is to make sure Picasa has saved all edits back to the folder.   (Select all images in entire Picasa library and 'save' ?)
At least the second category is then eliminated.
I imagine Im not the only one with this kind of mess... my next question is, are there standard approaches to the migration process?   I think my goals are, in order:
    - not to lose any originals
    - to be able to get to the original of any image with certainty
    - where possible to also have the latest / best picasa edited version

  • Add Import of Adobe Album tags to Bridge

I have tagged all my photos (12000 +) with Adobe Album 2.0. I have now installed CS2 and Bridge to find that I cannot migrate these tags to Bridge. Is there a feature I have missed?

    Thanks
I followed your advice and got the trial version of Elements 5 and this did the trick. All my tags are now embedded in the metadata.
So if Adobe can do this in Elements why can't they provide the same functyion in Bridge !!.
I now wonder if I should be using Bridge - it is not as user friendly as Album for locating photos. Should I consider iView Media Pro or similar?

  • Importing from Adobe Edge Animate to Existing Project

    Hello!
So I have a project that I have been working on in iAd producer for a iBooks widget and its coming along great.  However I am starting to bump into some limitations on the animation side of things that I can easily do within Adobe Edge Animate but am struggling with in iAd producer. Is there a way to import the animation from another project from a separate program like Adobe Edge Animate into iAd producer?  I feel like this should be straightforward since its all Javascript and HTML but I am not sure of the answer (been Googling for quite a bit and couldn't see a similar problem discussed).
    Thank you!
    Shawn

    Hello Shawn, Mark!
I'm trying something like you, playing with Adobe Edge and trying to use the JS and HTML file it produces with iAd Producer, but I can't get it work.
Have you finally got it working?

  • Setting duration of multiple photos imported from iPhoto albums

in iMovie 5, i had no problem importing the photos from my iPhoto albums, and adjusting the 'Photo Settings' to what i needed, about 0:05 or 0:06. It seems in iMovie 6, that is no longer possible. Other posts here have mentioned setting of 0:03 or 0:11, but if not, it will default to some other value.
Anyway, in iMovie 5, i had no problem changing the duration to play each picture to the value i wanted, typically selecting all the photos in the project, and moving the slider bar or entering the exact value i wanted (0:00:05). That's not possible in iMovie 6, as far as i can tell. The only way i've found is to select each photo individually, 'get info', and set the value. The project is thousands of photos from 2 webcams of a building construction, creating a time-lapse video. I'm not about to select each of 25k photos to input a value...
I've seen the mention of using QuickTime Pro to do something similar. Is that the only option, or is there a way to do this with iMovie6. We only bought iLife '06 to complete the project (and upgraded, including updating all iPhoto albums & iMovie projects to newer versions), as iMovie 5 was not able to handle the large # of photos.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    - me

However, dragging the 5 photos to the clip area, they go back to that same 9:29 default...
Very strange. Instead of dragging the photos, try clicking the Apply button in the Photo Settings window.
That probably won't work. Something is causing iMovie to "stick" at 9:29. Drag the duration slider to a time less than 9:29 and import an image. Then save the project. Now do the routine I described earlier. It might start working.
If still no luck, quit iMovie and trash the iMovie preference file. It's located in your UserName/Library/Preferences folder. It's called "com.apple.iMovie.plist".
It contains the last Ken Burns settings. Discarding the preference file will force it return to a new default duration setting. One that works, hopefully. Then do the routine I described earlier.
If it still doesn't work, something is messing up iMovie. Rule out the problems descrbed here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=1852869#1852869
Problems "talking" to iPhoto can cause iMovie to fail to locate the image, but it shouldn't affect the duration.

  • How to import from Adobe After efects to FCP?

Hi guys. I made a text sequence in Adobe After Effects, it is a "composition".
When I try to import it into a sequence in FCP it imports the sequence background from AE and therefor does not overlay the text over my clip but rather blocks out my clip with the AE Background.
What am I dong wrong? How do I make text in AE then overlay it in a squence in FCP?

In the Render Queue click on the name of the output module.
Under the Video Output section choose *RGB + Alpha* from the Channels menu
Then from the Color menu choose *Straight (Unmatted)*

  • Importing from Adobe Premiere

When I export from Premiere to Speed Grade the clips are on the timeline, but the say "reel not loaded" so I select the folder are the clips are in and click load from desktop, it calculates but nothing happens.

    Dennis,
I have done some testing and for some reason any time I export from a adobe premiere timeline to speed grade I can't get the reels to connect or load on the timeline. If I manualy load the DPX clips on the timeline it works but when I go to export it's says the reel is not loaded. After some long testing it has to do with the DPX files.
I can export a Apple Pro Res file bring it into the speedgrade color correct and then export it no problem. I have brought in raw 5d files and it works as well.
I have unistalled and updated both adobe premiere and speedgrade and have tried multiple projects all with the same result.
