Import from iPad 2

Can someone kindly advise me if I can import video shots from a iPad 2 onto my Mac computer throu iMovies09. What file format does iPads save to. It is HD or SD?

With Windoze, contacts can be synced with Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010 along with syncing calendar events and notes, or with the address book app used by Outlook Express with XP and by Windows Mail with Vista and Windows 7 called Windows Contacts for syncing contacts only.
She needs to export her Eudora contacts and import that with a supported address book app on her PC.

  • Aperture Import destination grayed out when importing from iPad

I'm trying to import a bunch of photos from my iPad. I want to dump them all in one project in Aperture, but after selecting the iPad from the import source list, it grays out the options to select the destination. It also grays out the option to uncheck the Autosplit events. I do not want to do this import and then have to go back and merge 20 projects.  Any ideas?

It' how Aperture works with the iPad see Aperture 3: Photos are not split into projects by date when importing from iPad as well as other threads here asking similar questions

  • When Importing from iPad my Aperture Library Destination Box is Grayed-out

Selecting Import from my iPad results in a list of all the images available for import. Great, except unlike when I import from CF cards I find the Destination drop down option list grayed-out within the Aperture Library tile of my Import Settings. When I import, the images immediately go into projects named with the date the pictures were taken. Fixing the resulting mess is atrocious!
How do I make my existing projects and albums available as in the Destination the drop down?
This obstacle is impeding my ability to work my iPad into my Aperture workflow. Help!

I am having the same problem. It seems like this is something that will need to be fixed in an update. Pretty frustrating at this time but really you just have to move the images around once imported.
I was just trying to import 789 raw files and the "Destination" is grayed out and aperture is sending the files to several untitled projects. I also find that Aperture puts the files into some sort of default project. On my ipad that "default" project seems to be "Sep 24, 2010" I have no idea why though.

  • Import from iPad - destination greyed out

I got a problem, when I import pictures or videos from my new iPad to Aperture 3 the the drop-down menu for the destination (in german: Zielort) and the textfield for the project name (in german: Projektname) is greyed out always. This only happens with the iPad not with a iPhone or a normal digital camera.
It is really annoying because I always have to manual create the directory - I guess its a bug. Does anyone has the same problem or can give me a hint to solve the problem ? btw, iOS, OSX and Aperture are up-to-date.
    Thanks in advance

Thanks kirby for the links, now I am more clever
Nevertheless it is not clear to me, why there is a difference in behaviour for iPad and iPhone - for me it isn't a feature because every import from the iPad requires a lot more steps to get the thing done - I can't see any advantage. Hopefully apple will change this thing in the future.

  • Error when importing from Ipad

I recently rebuilt my Aperture database to fix an issue that meant I had to repair it every time I tried to open Aperture.
Now when I plug my ipad in, Aperture asks to import 400 images from the ipad. However, most of the  image previews for these images don't work and those I can see seem to be corrupted (e.g one third to half the image is there but the remainder is grey space). When I try to import them I get 400 errors, saying the images couldn't be imported.
Then next time I plug in the ipad, Aperture asks to import the same 400 images again.
I'm not sure how to remove the corrupted images from my ipad.
    Any hints?
    Thanks very much.

You can import images from iPad and remove the from it using Image Capture app which is already installed on your mac. Have a look at this, it should help.

  • Cannot import from iPad (in any application)

We can no longer import photos from my wife's iPad from iPhoto, Aperture or Image Capture. I've tried on two different computers, one running the most recent version of Mountain Lion, the other Mavericks with the most recent updates to Aperture and iPhoto. She usually uses iPhoto (pre-Mavericks release) on a iMac running Mountain Lion, but the issue is exactly the same on either computer, across all 3 applications so we have narrowed the issue down to the iPad, not Mac preferences or application issues.
    Status:
iTunes - There are 468 photos as indicated in iTunes; all other SW udpates and syncing seems to work.
iPhoto - Permanently stuck on "loading", same issue on both computers, both versions of iPhoto. See screenshot.
Aperture - iPad shows ups, photos never load, never able to import. See screenshot
Image Capture - Same as above. See screenshot.
Steps taken on 1 or both machines
Updating iPad from iOS 7 to 7.0.3, no change (we think issue began before iOS 7 but cannot verify).
Updated Mountain Lion to most recent version on iMac, no change.
Created new libraries on both computers, no change.
Too many restarts of iPad and computers to count.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are heading on vacation in the morning and my wife was hoping to use the iPad to store photos from her camera.
    Thanks,
    - cluv

I use a Canon LiDE 110 scanner with the same problem.
After scanning, the PDF file appears on the desktop, but when I open it with Preview, the document is blank.
However, I can open it with Adobe Reader just fine.

  • Is iPhoto changing my .mov format after importing from iPad?

Or is iTunes changing it while importing?
It seems iPhoto is making movies incompatible with iPad.
My iPad sees and plays my .mov videos directly taken by my canon sd 1400 is. They play in the photos app of my ipad after using the camera kit, and it's great for sharing with friends during a vacation.
The bad news is after ipad uploads these videos and photos to my mac's iPhoto, iPhoto is changing the format (I am guessing) so that the videos can not be uploaded back to the ipad in an album. Why? How can I change or fix this?
I am hoping someone points me to a magic setting in iPhoto that says, "Check this box if you don't want your videos broken with iPad"

The iTunes app on your computer is very strict as to importing videos to the iPad.
    http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/
H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
Even if your video does follow the above specs. Not all h.264 are created equally to the h.264 standards.
The Camera Connection Kit is not as strict.
I can import videos from my Flip Mino HD camera when using the Camera Connection Kit. When trying to import the same video using iTunes I get the message,'file format no supported.'
The previous iOS 3.x did not support importing Flip videos when using the Camera Connection Kit. I was happy to find that the iOS 4.2.1 upgrade did!!! Now I don't have to buy a new video camera!!!
To answer you question... Use the Camera Connection Kit. It's better than nothing...

  • Iphoto quits when trying to import from ipad

Just got an iPad - trying to download photos and small videos to the iMac so that I have more space on the iPad.  Whenever I try to import all the photos, etc. from the iPad, iPhoto quits unexpectedly after a few minutes.  When I re-open iPhoto on the iMac, I always get a prompt "we found 1874 photos in the iPhoto Library that were not imported, would you like to import them now?"  Same problem occurs, then more photos listed on the prompt the next time...  Any suggestions?  (My OS is Snow Leopard, if that helps...?)  I just updated from Tiger to Snow Leopard, but the iPhoto problem has carried over...

Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
Drag it to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.
    Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If it does then look inside that folder on your desktop. Does it contain anything you want? If not you can trash the folder.

  • Leica DNG import from iPad unsupported.

I have 1000'a of DNGS from my Leica imported into my Aperture 3.0 library and they are all perfect. But on a recent trip i imported files from my card onto my iPad. DNG's don't seem to be supported, but it does read the JPR embedded so I can view them on the iPad - sort of.
I just imported these DNG's into Aperture 3.1.1 vie the import option in Aperture. Every DNG imported is being displayed as "unsupported image format".
What am I missing? Has anybody else seen this?
All updates have been applied to the iPad, Aperture and Mac OS X. Thx.

OK, a short-term fix is to download the files from your Ipad to Macbook using iPhoto--not Aperture. Then you need to move them on your Macbook from iPhoto to Aperture. This works fine. In my case, Aperture seems unable to download the DNGs directly from the iPad. (I'm on hold with Apple trying to figure this out.) But camera to iPad download via iPhoto and moved to Aperture does work fine. The images in fine form that way.

  • IPhoto 11 wants to import pics already imported from ipad

    Greetings,
    Config: MacOS 10.6.8 on a MacPro4,1
               iPhoto11 vers 9.2.3(629.52)
iPad 3 retina display, IOS 6.1.3, tethered
Issue: Everytime I attach iPad, iPhoto shows pics which were previously imported along with the new pics I want to import.
When importing the all pics iPhoto wants to import, it knows these few pics are duplicates and prompts the window, import dups ?, doesnt matter what I select. The same pics show up on the next import of new pics next time.
    Any ideas are welcomed :-)

Mag, I've had this problem in the past and found a workaround which helped me. I had to do this in this exact order.
    1. Plug in device to get the import screen.
    2. Select all the photos in iPhoto under the New Photos area.
    3. In the upper left corner enter a new event name "Photos Previously Imported" (or anything else you prefer).
    4. Hit the "Import Photos" button. If the the pictures were indeed already imported you will get a "Duplicate Photo" dialog box.
    5. Choose "Import" and check the "Apply to all duplicates" checkbox.
    6. Upon completion select either "keep the photos" on the device or choose to "delete them from device".
    7. Eject device and close down iPhoto.
    8. Re-launch iPhoto, plug in device and photos should not appear as new photos anymore. (I did this a few times to be sure).
    9. Eject device a second time, after device is ejected you can delete the imported Event called "Photos Previously Imported". Close iPhoto.
    10. launch iPhoto for a final time and plug in device. If all worked correctly the photos should no longer appear as new photos.
    * Note: If this does not work and you selected to keep the photos on your device, some have gotten a different result by choosing to delete them instead. ( Step 6 )
    Good luck

  • How to import from iPad to Mac

How to import GarageBand files-from my iPad to my Mac book?

Are your GarageBand versions on your iPad and Mac compatible? Check this list:
GarageBand for iOS and Mac: Project compatibility
If the versions are compatible, you can share the projects on your iPad to iTunes or share them to iCloud to transfer them, see this help text:
    For GarageBand 2.0:
    Use iCloud with GarageBand
    Share GarageBand songs
Send a GarageBand song to iTunes
Tap My Songs, then tap Select.
Tap the song you want to send, then tap the Action button .
    Tap Share Song via iTunes.
    Do one of the following:
To send the song as a GarageBand song, tap GarageBand.
To send the song as an audio file, tap iTunes, then tap Share.
After you tap the iTunes icon, you can choose the quality of the file GarageBand sends to iTunes. You can also add artist, composer, and title information that appears in iTunes.
Sync your iPad with your computer. In iTunes, the exported song appears in the Documents list in the File Sharing area when GarageBand is selected.
    Do one of the following:
Drag the song from the GarageBand Documents list to the Finder.
Click Save As, navigate to the location where you want to save the song, then click Save.
You can open the GarageBand song in GarageBand on your Mac, or play the audio file in iTunes (or any compatible audio application) on your computer. GarageBand songs cannot be opened on a Windows computer.
    Regards
    Léonie

  • Import from ipad to new itunes

I have a new computer, PC and installed itunes. How can I import all music, photo and videos from my ipad?

You should be able to copy iTunes purchases (if your account is authorised on it) via File > Transfer Purchases. For music purchased from elsewhere or copied from CDs (and videos from elsewhere) you will either need to find a third-party program for your computer that can copy them off the iPad or copy them from your old computer (copying between computers) or from your backup and into iTunes (File > Add To Library).
To copy photos to your computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page -  on a PC you can use the windows camera wizard.
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer, so you would be better off copying them from your old computer via (for example) a flash drive.
