Hello Kenan,
We had the same problem, but after adding the system variables the problem was solved.
Make sure the ARBORPATH and ESSBASEPATH variables are available as System Variables.
(Right click om my computer and goto Environment Variables).
Kind regards,

  • Max L Import from Server data_file - Essbase 11.1.1.3

    I got a problem setting the right path for importing data-files directly from a directory on the server (that is not under the "arborpath").
    As I mentioned in the techref:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/html_esb_techref/maxl/ddl/defs.htm#term_filename
    the directory to import files from the server can be defined below the "arborpath"-directory.
    Importing the files from local site is no problem. My question is if it is possible to change the path for the import to something else than "arborpath"?
    Kind regards

    Hi!
    Thank you for your prompt response. I already tried to set the path the way you posted in the thread:
    import database appl-name.dbs-name data from server data_file *"D:\\Mydir\\Myfiles\\MyData.txt"* using server rules_file 'rule-file-name' on error append to 'C:\tmp\lolad_err.txt';
    if i do so and the arborpath of the system is:
    *"E:\Hyperion\products\Essbase\EssbaseServer\app\"*
    i get the following error:
    Unable to open File [E:\Hyperion\products\Essbase\EssbaseServer\app\appl-name\dbs-name\D:\\Mydir\\Myfiles\\MyData.txt]
    Unexpected Essbase error 1003027
    The arborpath and the path to the import-file are merged.

  • Cannot import from lowercase database in mySQL

    Hi,
    I am using BODI 11.7.3.2, with a mySQL 5.0 database as a source.
    Most of my databases are in uppercase, and I have never had a problem with it, but today I wanted to import tables from a new database, called dgwh, lowercase, and it gave an error which included a reference to the database 'DGWH' (uppercase). Since our installation of mySQL is case-sensitive, this did not work.
    Looking for a solution I stumbled upon the following:
    I created the datastore for the new database today, but another datastore on the same database server linking to a different database was created using version 11.5, and upgraded to 11.7.3.2. Using this alternative datastore, I could import the table without any problems!
    Which led me to exporting both datastores and doing a compare. And yes, there was a difference: the line
    "case_sensitive" = 'yes',
    was included in the datastore imported from 11.5, but not at all present in the newly created datastore.
    I figure that line is the one causing my problem. However, I don't see an option in my datastore to set any parameter concerning case-sensitivity. Is that option available?
    Cheers
    Tako Molanus

    Manoj:
    I was using ODBC as the database type, but I tried again with both mySQL (which I don't believe was there in version 11.5, otherwise we would have probably used it before) and ODBC, but without luck, the problems remains. In both cases I can't find an indicator saying anything about using upper- or lowercase names, so I could not try that part of your suggestion. But maybe I am missing something, where can I find that?
    Still, it is strange that I am able to do this from the ATL, but not from the client.
    We saw something similar in version 11.5: it was not possible to import a table from a different mySQL database than the one we logged in to in the datastore (we had a datastore for database STG, but wanted to look at a table from database DWH, so we wanted something like STG.DWH.DWHTable). If we changed this in the ATL however, it was no problem.
    How come the ATl supports more than the client?
    Hai:
    Thanks for the teaser
    I will suggest moving to version 12, but it is not my decision to make....

  • Problem in Schemas import from one database to another

    Hi,
    I have to import the schemas from one database (10g release 1) to another database (10g release 1).
    But the problem is that through simple import (imp) the system privileges, object privileges & other things are not importing to import file. There are various objects in the schemas which are inter-related & I can't manually grant on those objects.
    I have also tried Toad Export DDL Script. But my problem is not solve through the Toad. There are other various issues occuring with TOAD.
    I have also tried SQL Developer & PL/SQL Developer but CLOB problem is occuring with them.
    The schemas which I have been creating in different database is new schemas with same name.

    have you given grants=y ?
    mp system/***** file=schema.dmp log=schema.log fromuser=user1 touser=user2 grants=yis the usernames of source & dest are same?

  • Import from ThumbsPlus database

    I'm a Bridge/CS3 fan, but have years of keywords and annotations in Thumbsplus. I am considering Lightroom.
    I've read a couple of posts on migration without real help, one where one wrote XMP files, which I might do, but I understand that won't work for non-raw files, and I would not risk writing to the JPG's and PSD's myself to try to fake it. I didn't see anyone who had been successful other than by writing into the JPG/PSD's.
    I could easily produce any kind of export file from Thumbsplus' database, and also am game for trying to uppdate the LR database directly if that's practical.
    I don't care about gallaries or other similar, just the annotations and keywords in the Thumbsplus database.
    Anyone have guidence?

    I am not an expert at all, but here is what I did (and it worked for me well):
    I put the keywords and other fields of importance, such as the City, the Country where the picture was made plus the Annotation into the corresponding IPTC fields in Thumbsplus (Annotation --> Caption).
    Then I just imported all the files (10,000 of them, all JPG) into LR and found that at least these fields are all there all right. The database is searchable according to those fields, it is very nice, actually.
    Now I made a habit that from time to time I write back the metadata (keywords and such) back into the images (LR keeps them in the catalogue), it makes me feel better.
    Cheers, Mixx

  • Application in ApEx2.2 (imported from 1.6) got error when click 'Print'

    Hi,
    I have Apex 2.2 installed on a database (on Unix) through upgrading from htmldb 1.6. And I exported an htmldb app from 1.6, then imported it into 2.2. Now the Print function won't work anymore in 2.2. It works well on 1.6. The error is:

    Does anyone know this?
    Thanks for any information.

    Thanks alot buddy...It helped me. I got it.
    What I did is: simply I removed the 2 lines:
         <config-property name="xADataSourceName" value="jdbc/BPELSamplesDataSource"/>
              <config-property name="dataSourceName" value=""/>
    I don't need them. Why because I did not put the value for the connector factory name usesExternalConnectionPooling as true. So I don't need the above 2 lines.
    Now it got executed with out any bugs. Thanks alottttttttttttttttt..............

  • ODI and Import Data Server in Essbase Error

    Hi,
    I have added Essbase Technology in Topology Manager. When I am trying to add my Essbase Server under Essbase Technology am getting the error. Here are the steps I have followed.
    Trying to add Essbase Server by Import Data Server -- Specified name, username and password
    When I click Test it is giving error like
    Connection Failed.
    java.sql.SQLException: Driver must be specified
    Do we need to specify any information under JDBC tab...
    Which driver we need to select under JDBC Driver and JDBC Url
    Please help me....

    Hi,
    You will not be able to click the test button when using hyperion technologies, this is because they don't operate using JDBC.
    If you have a read of my blog you will see how to set up essbase with ODI

  • Import  from mysql Database

    Hello,
    I have to import text with special characters like from a mysql database. I want to test the string, in which I put the text, for these special characters but somehow these characters seem to be converted to a question mark before I have the chance to test for them. The special characters are never found and a questionmark is replacing them when i display them in the console window.
    Does anyone know the solution to this problem?
    kind regards, brassers

    Can you explain me how to print out the input string to its hex value Here's a program that does that; hope it illuminates the problem.
    public class StringToHex {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            String input = "\u0001\u0066\u00d3\u0133\uc2fe\u9999\u0c00\uffff";
            System.out.println("String INPUT is:  " + input);
            char[] letter = input.toCharArray();
            for (int j = 0; j <letter.length; j++) {
                System.out.print(letter[j] + "/");
                String hexValue = Integer.toHexString(letter[j]);
                System.out.print(hexValue + "--");
    }

  • Xml import from FCP encounters an error

    HELP!!!!!
    I've imported an xml from FCP, but keep getting the following message:
    Premiere Pro has encountered an error.
    [..\..\Src\Sequence\TrackItem.cpp-596]
    I am unable to work on this project as this message pops up when ever I do anything, even a simple click on the app gives this error

    Okay, after trying both steps in the document above, the missing codecs/preview presets still aren't available when I go to File>New>Sequence. I guess that's the only way to check if they have installed correctly/activated correctly right? It says it's correctly activated though so not sure why it's doing this.
    Are these presets also missing in the trial verison of the software?

  • DATA PUMP - IMPORT FROM A DATABASE

    Can anyboby please help with the following:
    We have a 10.2R2-schema, that should be imported into an existing schema on another machine. Whether doing dump on a remote machine or importing over the Lan, it gives me
    ORA-39006,ORA-39065,ORA-02083,ORA-39097 with error 2083.
    Yes, I have "-"-character in the domain name and I can not switch off GLOBAL_NAME to false due to some dependecies.
    Thanks in advance!

    Yes, I have "-"-character in the domain name and I can not switch off GLOBAL_NAME to false due to some dependecies.This bug is characterized by using a fully qualified database link with a hyphen in the domain name in PL/SQL, and receiving an ORA-02083 error.
    Bug 3096445 - ORA-02083 USING DB LINK WHEN DB DOMAIN NAME CONTAINS HYPEN '-'
    Unfortunately, its not been fixed yet in any release of Oracle.
    Temporary solution/workaround would be :
    SolutionThe bug was unresolved at the time of writing this article (February-2006).
    1. The normal method of changing the GLOBAL_NAME is to use the command:
    SQL> ALTER DATABASE RENAME GLOBAL_NAME TO <new name without hyphen>;
    2. If the GLOBAL_NAME already contains illegal characters, then the table MUST be manually updated via:
    UPDATE GLOBAL_NAME SET GLOBAL_NAME = '<new name without hyphen>';

  • One-time import from external database - best practices/guidance

    Hi everyone,
    I was wondering if there was any sort of best practice or guideline on importing content into CQ5 from an external data source.  For example, I'm working on a site that will have a one-time import of existing content.  This content lives in an external database, in a custom schema from a home-grown CMS.  This importer will be run once - it'll connect to the external database, query for existing pages, and create new nodes in CQ5 - and it won't be needed again.
    I've been reading up a bit about connecting external databases to CQ (specifically this:http://dev.day.com/content/kb/home/cq5/Development/HowToConfigureSlingDatasource.html), as well as the Feed Importer and Site Importer tools in CQ, but none of it really seems to apply to what I'm doing.  I was wondering if there exists any sort of guidelines for this kind of process.  It seems like something like this would be fairly common, and a requirement in any basic site setup.  For example:
    Would I write this as a standalone application that gets executed from the command-line?  If so, how do I integrate that app with all of the OSGi services on the server?  Or,
    Do I write it as an OSGi module, or a servlet?  If so, how would you kick off the process? Do I create a jsp that posts to a servlet?
    Any docs or writeups that anyone has would be really helpful.
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Matt,
    the vault file format is just an xml representation of what's in the
    repository and the same as the package format. In fact, if you work on
    your projects with eclipse and maven instead of crxdelite to do your
    work, you will become quite used to that format throughout your project.

  • Importing from iMovie 11: Unexpected Error -  "not a movie"

    Hi,
    I was creating and cutting my videos from my last vacation in iMovie and wanted to export it to iDVD. It worked for the first project just fine, but get an error message for the next iMovie project: "Unexpected Error" and "This is not a movie"
    I tried it several times, always the same result, although there are some other error messages sometimes.
    Does anybody know what this could be? This is very frustrating. Unfortunately this is not the only problem I got with iMovie.. I really think about switching to something else, that actually works for a change :-(

    try opening with any other programs you have. Also ask the site you got it from.

    Assuming you are using the TNS connection type, please provide a valid Tnsnames Directory in the dialog accessible using the menu bar -> Tools -> Preferences -> Database -> Advanced.
