Import gmail contacts into iPad contacts

How to import gmail, my standard DB, contacts so that they can also be used by iPad email?

I don't have a gmail account, but according to this page http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740 if you set up the account as an Exchange account (not as gmail) then you should be able to sync your contacts from it

How can I import all my gmail contacts into iPad? I use iPad mini and the solutions available on the web are not compatible.

Hello and thanks for the answer.
I meant by "not compatible" that all the solutions that I found on the web did not work, especially the "Microsoft exchange" one.
Fortunately I found on the comments of the first website you mentioned the right answer for me, which I copy below:
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Other > Add CardDav Account.
Enter the following information in the fields:
    Server: google.com
User Name: Enter your full Google email address
    Password: Your Google account password
Select Next at the top of the screen to complete the setup.
After you have completed the setup, open the Contacts app on your device. Syncing should begin automatically.
    Additional Information
Note: Make sure that SSL is enabled (under Advanced settings), and that the port is 443.
If you are using application based special password go to https://accounts.google.com/Se... and instead of your password put that special code and u r done.

  • How can i move my contacts into different contact groups on my ipad

i have created contact groups on my ipad through icloud, i now want to move contacts into different groups, but can't work out how to do it!! any help would be appreciated.

If you have a Mac, create the groups in Address book application.
You can also log into icloud.com and create the groups there. They will sync to your iPad.

  • How to sync iPhone contacts to iPad contacts, having skipped iphone set up

After buying iphone5c I skipped part of set up.  Now I want to make iphone sync to contacts on iPad.
I have backed up iPad to iCloud, and the iPhone too, but can't seem to make them sync, nor find a way back to the initial setup menu to choose the option to connect to iCloud.  I think all other relevant options are turned on.

You can sync contacts using iTunes so that each device you use (iPhone, iPad, or iPod) has the same information.
If your contacts are hosted online (for example, using iCloud or Yahoo!), just set up your contact accounts on each device and computer you use. Then, your contacts are kept up to date everywhere.
Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to your Mac. If iTunes doesn’t open, open iTunes.
Select your device, click the Info (or Contacts) tab, and then select the “Sync contacts” checkbox.
Select whether to sync all contacts or only the groups you select.
Select any other options you want, and then click Apply. Your contacts are updated each time you connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to your Mac.

  • How to sync/import photos/mp4 into iPad?

    Hi,
I have a Macbook Pro running latest version of Yosemite. I also have an iPad running iOS 8.1.1. I have some old photos and mp4 video that I shot in my Macbook Pro. I can not figure out how to sync/import the photos and mp4 to my iPad so I can show to my guests in the coming holiday. I'd appreciate any help.
    Thanks

You can use iTunes. Import the movies into iTunes then sync them onto your iPad
You can also use something like dropbox, upload them there from your mac then download them onto your iPad.
You may want to download and read the manual for more specific directions

  • How to import FFox bookmarks into iPad via iTuneon a machine w/o Safari?

I am running Win 7 with the latest iTunes, and Firefox.
I want to import my FF bookmarks into Safari running on my iPad2. However, I don't have (or really have a need for) Safari on my Windows Machine.
Is there a way to import my bookmarks into iTunes w/o having Safari installed on my (Win) machine?
Don't really need yet another browser. (I also have Chrome installed, which has all my bookmarks, in case it's easier to do it that way.)
    Thanks!

Thanks all, will try xmarks and report back.
While we are on the topic of safari on the iPad...where is the setting to set the default zoom level for web pages?
Every time a page loads, I have to pinch and zoom out so it's readable. Even if I do it once, when I navigate way and come back, it defaults to the tiny font. Can't find anything in Setttings, Safari. Safari itself has no setting at all that I can find.
Also for the bookmarks, could I just install Google toolbar and Google bookmarks? That seems like it would do the job.
As you see I'm brand new to iPad.

  • Turning contacts into iCloud contacts...

    Hey All,
I've realised today that half of the contacts I've been making aren't iCloud contacts - I don't know what contacts they are but when I go to groups in the top left of the iPhone contacts screen and uncheck all but iCloud contacts some of them don't show up.
Is there a way of finding out what group these contacts are from and then turning them into iCloud contacts so that they sync across all my devices etc.?
    Cheers

You apparently didn't pay attention to the prompts you got when you plugged it in...

  • How do I import Google Calendar into iPad calendar?

I have followed the directions on the Google website.  I went under Settings>Mail, Calendar & Contacts>Google and selected calendars.  I also went to the website, https://www.google.com/calendar/syncselect and followed those directions.  I still am unable to view my calendar on my iPad.

    Hi,
Have you tried exporting the bookmarks from Google (on the left hand side of the page towards the bottom) and then importing them to Safari (Safari menu > Import Bookmarks...)?

  • IMPORT CAMERA MOVIES INTO IPAD

Hello... I am trying to import movie(s) filmed on my Sony Cyber-shot HX9V into my iPad 3 using the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit using my camera’s USB cable. (Importing using the memory card connector only imports photos from what I have experienced).  Once connected from camera to ipad I receive a message: "Accessory Unavailable: The attached accessory uses too much power".  I have plugged and unplugged numerous times to NO success.  Question: does anyone have know how to resolve this problem?  Must I use some "app" such as iMovie for the iPad...or?? an import via the app?
I am able to successfully export movies into my iMac via card reader and open up in iMovie on my iMac.

Just checked the Camera specs and it seems you have a bunch of options when it comes to movie recording.
Can you post what format the videos are you recorded?
This is from the Apple iPad3 tech specs:
Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format
Keep an eye of the appendix .m4v,.mov, .mp4 and compare it with your camera. Are your recordings also stored in the DCIM folder (i guess yes)?

  • Import Aperture slideshow into iPad as SLIDES

I prepared a slideshow using Aperture, individually introducing texts and modifying slide layout. 550 slides, this was a lot of work.
    Then I bought an iPad.
From what I found until now, the only solution is Aperture > iPhoto > (movie) > iPad
I don't care for a movie, I want to keep my slideshow, its quality and the ability to browse my own speed.
Using the album I prepared before is not the solution, as I loose the additional information for each slide.
    QUESTION 1
CAN I INDIVIDUALLY EXPORT PICTURES AND ADDITIONAL LAYOUT PREPARED FOR AN APERTURE SLIDESHOW AS JPEG FILES ?
I moved to Photoshop to redo the editing job, then import into Aperture.
Too bad, the order of pictures is lost when exporting to iPad.
And I did not find any solution for modifying orders of pictures on iPad.
iPhoto for iPad says it would do it (drag and drop), but I did not find how yet...
Should I individually drag pictures into an Album on iPad ?
    QUESTION 2
HOW TO MODIFY ORDERS OF PICTURES IN AN IPAD ALBUM ?
There should be solutions for both. Hopefully a simple one that I did not find yet.
    Can anyone help ?

    Hi Constance,
You would first need to export the slideshow from iPhoto as a Quicktime movie.
Then you can view it on your iPad.
    Here's how:

iPhoto '11: View photos or slideshows on iPod, iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV

    Hope this information helps ...

  • Import pages document into iPad

OK, how do you now get a pages document off your Mac and onto an iPad? It appears that this function had been removed. Latest iTunes and Pages for both Mac and iPad. Thanks.

  • Import contacts from frontier into ipad or iphone

Trying to figure out a way to put email addresses from frontier account or gmail account into ipad or iphone.  mail accts are set up, but no contacts (email addresses there)

With Windoze, contacts can be synced with Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010 along with syncing calendar events and notes, or with the address book app used by Outlook Express with XP and by Windows Mail with Vista and Windows 7 called Windows Contacts for syncing contacts only.
She needs to export her Eudora contacts and import that with a supported address book app on her PC.

  • Moving yahoo contact to ipad

How do I move my yahoo contacts into my contacts on the Ipad?

    rbrylawski wrote:
You have to load them to iTunes first
To be correct, you cannot load any contacts to iTunes.
You use iTunes to select contacts on yoru computer to sync to the iPad. But since the poster is using Yahoo! address book, there's not need to even use iTunes. It is all set up on the iPad.
If you have MobileMe, you can conveniently synch all three devices seemlessly.......
    Can do it without MobileMe.
Just set up your iPad and your computer address book application to use Yahoo Address book.
Any changes made will be changed everywhere.
