Import GP transport package
Hi,
I am trying to import the GP .sda file which was successfully imported during the first import.
Somehow the files got corrupted. so i deleted the GP folder from design time .. undeployed and deployed again via SDM
but when i try to release the GP content under Administration->Tranposrt->Manager imported Objects
it shows me only empty folders with the following message -->
"Not all development objects that are not yet released were are added to list: 23 more objects exist"
Please help!
Veena.

a copy of all ur components present in Deleted Items folder . go to the deleted items folder --> delete all the components (related to ur GP process) from this folder . finally deploy the component and realease the GP content.
hope this will solve ur problem

Problem importing Transport package.
Hello,
I am importing WPC web content (Transport package) (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/46/77da3bb8036ef0e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm ). Transport Package doesn't show up in pending imports after Package upload. I repeated the package upload. Still its not showing under "Pending Imports"
Anything else has to be done while importing a transport package (wpc web content).
Thanks
TonyI never had to enter object ID, when I was exporting. The only required property was the name of the package. I was following this document to export WPC Web Content http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/46/77da3bb8036ef0e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm

TonyHi Martin
Thanks, it worked!
A note when uploading different files with "non-functional" extensions could have been nice there.

Error Importing a Transport in portal - Using custom role
Hello Everyone,
I have a custom role XYZ which has a few worksets copied (as delta links) from the standard System Administration Role. These worksets include Transport, Portal Display and Monitoring.
Now, I have assigned a user ABC the following roles:
1.Role XYZ
2.Content Admin Role
When the User ABC with the above mentioned roles, tries to import a transport package into the system he gets and authorization error. (This error does not occur if I assign the user Super Admin Role).
Error Details :
com.sapportals.portal.transport.RepositoryAccessControlException

<b>Questions:
1. Is it really possible to have this functionality (ability to Import and Export without Assigning System admin or super admin roles) achieved?
(I went through a thread Portal role for transporting objects on SDN which discusses this scenario)
2. How should I check for additional authorizations required for Importing / Exporting Transport packages into portal. (without having assigned the super admin role or system admin role).</b>Thanks To all of you
Joan ThomasThanks for the inputs.
I have fixed the problem.
To assign content objects to a package, you need at least read permission for the objects to be assigned.
You can only import objects into the Portal Content Directory if you have read/write permission for each folder in the Portal Catalog where the imported objects will be stored.
To create a transport package in a certain folder of the Portal Catalog, you need read/write permission for this folder.
These 3 points helped me do the required.

Revert Portal transport package .epa file and .sca file
Hi,
Recently we have imported one transport package .epa file (through transport package import editor) and imported one .sca file (though SDM) in Portal Quality system.
Now we want to revert both the transport package .epa file and .sca file in Portal Quality system.
Can anyone tell us the procedure?
Thanks
PhaniHi Phani,
You can find the previous version of SDA/SCA's in the following path
Go to SDM -- Deploy tab-- there is little black arrow pointing up in the bottom right corner. Click on it to expand the menu and one of the options will be "Deploy SDAs/SCAs that have any version.
Please refer this link for more information
To undeploy .sca
Hope this helps you...

Error while importing Transport Package ?
Hi,
I have created a Transport Package which includes the following things :
1. Two folders
2. Two iViews
3. one .par file
I am trying to Import the above package by choosing the option 'Source for package file - client' and then browsing where my .epa file is placed.
When i click the Upload Button I am getting the following error -
'Error extracting the package file. Check the log file for details'
What can be reason for this error?
Regards,
Vikas KhandpurHi Vikas
It is not generally advised to Package a .PAR file into a .EPA file. Because a .PAR file may depend on parts that are not included in the .EPA file which might cause incosistent transports.
You can directly upload a .PAR file into the Portal. Just go to System Administration -> Support -> Portal Runtime -> Administration Console and upolad the .PAR file.
Try removing the .PAR file from the Transport Package and download the exported .EPA file. Import this new file and see if it works this time.
Hope that helped
Best Regards

Portal content Transport Packages Export/Import Question.
Hi,everyone:
I have a problem when Export packages of portal content, the epa-file is correct on the server however become error after download from the server to localhost.
The bug is Function of Download itself,if anyone have meet this case and help me. I need your help!
Regard!
FishHi Ree,
As I mentioned in my previous reply it is working perfectly for me. The import is creating the required files in the PCD.
Let me explain how it is done.
Create a TP
Create a folder and add the required files(Workset, pages, iviews etc) to the the folder.
add the folder with all the contents(select 'Add all objects to transport package' from the content menu) to the TP.
Export the TP. give a name of your choice(removing the numbers)
Download it to the local machine using the dowmload link.
the file will be saved as a <i>TPName</i>.epa in your local drive.
in import, select 'client' for Source for Package Files.
brose and select the <i>TPName</i>.epa file.
upload the file, and you can see the contents.
then import it to the new environment. Now the complete folder stucture will be created in the PCD exactly as you created it for the TP.
I hope you are doing like this. It should work
Are yo able to open the downloaded file with WinZip?
cheers

Translations via an Import Transport package
I currently have a client who is translating iViews and Pages, etc and wants to use a transport package to move the items.
We continue to run into the same errors starting with the following: 'Cannot import in text only mode: object' when importing the transport and the Translations Worklists are not processing.
Is it not possible to use a transport package to move these items forward? Has anyone run into this issue?
Edited by: Jacques Besaw on Jan 3, 2008 8:52 PMDid you ever find a solution to this issue? I was able to import the language package into our QA Portal, but I am receiving the following message when trying to import the same into our Production Portal. Please assist if you can.

I think that Package file donu2019t have any Portal Content. We have to Export the portal Content .epa file structure and import that .epa into another portal Server. Donu2019t Save .zip file
Please follow these Steps
How to Export Package from Portal Component
1.Go to System Administrator-Transport-Transport Package-Click on ExportPortal ContentGo to our Folder (SapExample)-RC-NEW-Click on Transport Package
Here create one Transport Package.
Transport Package Name: Pack1
Transport Package ID: PackID1
Next--FINISH-Select Open object for editing---- OK
iView/Page/Work Set/Role/Folder/-RCClick on Add Object to Transport Package-Click on Export button
Here Change File Name: Pack1.epa-----Click on Start Export Button.
Now you will see that Pack1.epa file created or not
Go this Path D:\usr\sap\System ID\Instance Name\global\pcd\Export
Here Pack1.epa File Available.
Or you can download from portal also. When you are export that .epa file click on Start Export Button after one download link available. So we can download here also.
How to Import to Portal Component
2. Go to System Administrator--Transport Package--Click on IMPORT
Select Source for Package Files: Client
Browse the Pack1.epa file--And click on Upload--Click on Import button.
Please Look at this wiki:[Export/Import|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/TransportingPortalContent]
Hope this helps!!

Portal Run time error when created a seperate role for Transport package.
Hi Experts,
I have created a seperate role for Transport Package(import/export iviews).
Normally we have transport package functionality in system admin.
Below steps i followed for creating the new role(trans admin)
1.Copied SAP provided system admin role to a seperate folder.
2.Deleted reamining portal objects(like UWL, portal display etc ..) except transport packege workset.
3.Renamed the role to trans admin.
I have assigned that role to my self, it is working fine to me when i clcik on export and import.I have super admin role.
when i assign this role to some portal users, Export is not working.
when user clicks on Export role they are getting below error.
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : N/A
Component Name : N/A
Access denied (Object(s): com.sap.portal.system/security/sap.com/NetWeaver.Portal/medium_safety/com.sap.portal.appdesigner.contentcatalog/components/Framework).
Exception id: 12:10_31/08/09_0031_21763550
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
By looking into exception iD also, same error access denied it is showing.
Please Advice.
Thanks
Sony.Hi Raghu,
Thanks for the reply.
I have given full permissions to all users to this trans admin role before itself.

How to download a transport package in terms of abap code
Hi,
Is there any sample code or particular FM or anyway that could download a transport package which is then used to import to another server? I've looked at a few thread regarding downloading transport package but there's no specific tables or code that mentioned beside e071 or e071k.
Please advise.
Thanks,
LooHi All,
I've found out that if i can download cofiles & data files for a program i can do the same for package. The rule here is that the program or package source system must be released in order to have the cofiles and datafiles created. Hence using the same source code to download a program i'm able to download the package too.
Thanks for sharing.

Steps needed to import the transport request
Hello SAP gurus
I am trying to import a transport request consisting of a packacge into a server. I was able to create this transport request on first server and trying to import it into second server.
I read many postings on this site and played with STMS_IMPORT, STMS etc.,
But still can't see the package on the second server.
I don't know what I need to do on the second server (target) to make it accept this foreign transport request.
If some one can please point me to a link or document that gives the exact steps involved to do this, I would appreciate it a lot.
Thanks
