Import in itunes and add tag

I want to add many compilation folders of mp3's to Itunes. I want to create a automator workflow which will automatically add a specific tag in grouping, year and also check as a compilation when I move the folders to the specific folder that the folder actions are appointed to.
I can't manage to work this out. Can anyone give me some tips?

I import a lot of my content from my external hard drive and i dont know which option i should use.
Use the 'Add to library...' option. If you have checked the 'Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library' (Preferences>Advanced>General), the files also will be copied to the 'iTunes Music folder location' as set in the preferences.

Sure. Drag the song into your Project from the Music Browser and drop it on the clip where you want it to start. It should appear as a ribbon underneath your video clips. You can then drag the left edge if the clip to the right, until it starts where you want it to.

Another way. Once you drag in the music clip, click the gear icon on the clip to open the clip trimmer. You can change where the clip starts there.

I can't get on my ipad. It keeps telling me to connect to itunes, but I can't connect because it is passcode protected. I need to erase the device from itunes to add it again, but I don't know how!! Help!

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. If you did not do step 4 properly, start all over again.

Album artwork imports into iTunes, but artist tags do not

Hello,
After importing my music from an external hard drive backup, I have a problem with ~5% of my music. The songs are listed in iTunes as "Unknown Artist" and "Unknown Album". However, if I find the file within my iTunes folder, all of the artist information tags are listed if I use "Get Info" --> "More Info" in the Finder. Back in iTunes, the album artwork is there, but the tags are missing. These are for .m4a, Apple MPEG-4 audio files. How can I get iTunes to recognize the tags that are obviousy still present in the file?
There are too many songs like this to relabel the, realistically.
I have tried deleting the songs from my library and re-importing them into iTunes, but this does not fix the problem. I cannot find any logic as to which songs this affects.
Any ideas?

This same thing happened to me, so I plugged my iphone into the computer and I unchecked all the songs so it deleted from my phone and then i rechecked sync music back to the phone and all the album artwork were there.

Import a ppt and add audio

I am trying to record/add audio to a project that I created from a powerpoint. How is this done? The ppt comes into Captivate as one slide so I am not able to coordinate my words with each click that moves to the next screen. So far my work around is to create a new captivate project, screen by screen, and copy in a screen shot from the ppt. captivate project. There must be an easier way?

If you right mouse and select Get info it will show you the Apple ID used to purchase these songs.
Usually the name of an apple id is based on the email. So knowing that you may have forgotten the Apple ID password.

Music app should reflect iTunes and Add features not remove them

It has taken years to get my music the way I wanted it. I could find and listen to music with ease. Now Apple seem to be taking features away bit by bit and TBH I am sick of re-working iTunes with each major update. It is frustrating to use iTunes one way and hard work to get the app working in a similar way (Without all the extra work of smart playlists etc)
1. Why can't the music app just be a mirror image (as in functionality) to iTunes? and
2. Why take features away once everyone gets used to them?
I say Add new features but don't remove them, SIMPLES!

Hey, not trying to get rid of you, but the iPhone forums might get you better answers. I don't have one...but everyone in that forum might!
I do know about resintalling itunes, though. The actual iTunes program files are in different folders than the actual music/podcast/ringtones folders, so they should stay put.
That being said, it's always a good idea to have backups. Especially of purchased content, and your itunes database ITL file.

How do you use only a part of a song from itunes and add it to a movie project?

After I've added video clips and photoes to a movie project, I can't figure out how to use only clips from itunes songs to play in specific parts of movie project...any ideas?

The settings you use to play in iTunes do not get retained in other apps. What you can do is open Garage Band, drag the song from iTunes into a GB track, then edit the song as you like. You can even adjust the fade in/out exactly to the length and duration you want. When the song is trimmed, Share to iTunes, where it will become a separate song. Select that for your slideshow, or place it in an iTunes playlist and use the playlist for your slideshow.

An Album (CD) I have imported in my iTunes, and is on my iPod, will not sync over to my iPad. Why not?

An Album (CD) that I have successfully imported into iTunes, and synced with my iPod, will NOT sync with my iPad, even though I have done everything I know how to do so. When viewing the music in "On This iPad" mode, I can actually see the album there, but it is grayed out, and in the left hand column there is a circle with dotted lines, as if it is an incomplete download--which in essence it is. But I have the album (CD) in my iTunes and on my iPod, just like hundreds of other CD's--what's up with this one?
Another characteristic is that since trying to import this CD into my iPad, I cannot get a successful sync of the iPad now; the syncing process hangs up in "Waiting for changes to be applied" for 3 or 4 minutes, and then it just stops. No message that "The syncing process is complete. Please eject before disconnecting." The sync just quits on its own, so I take it that the syncing process was unsuccessful.

Make sure that your music is in the format supported by the iPhone. I use either MP3 or AAC.
A friend had the same problem a while back. All his music was in the WMA format and is therefore not playable on the iPhone and would not copy. Once he converted his songs to MP3 they copied to his iPhone without problem.

I'm finding that songs that I have imported to Itunes are suddenly showing with "Exclamation" marks and Itunes tells me that the original file cannot be found. When I tell it to locate the file, it can't do it.

Maybe you rename it. Somehow the path to the songs have changed if not deleted.
In Finder go to "Macintosh/Users/username/music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music" that's where all your songs located so if those songs are not there you get an exclamation mark. You can delete those entries in iTunes and re-import again.
