Import in PSE 13 using CanoScan 9000F under Windows 7 64 Bit

I have installed the new PSE 13 on my Windows 7 64 Bit PC. I use a scanner CanoScan 9000F, the most actual driver is installed (ScanGear).
But the scanner doesn't appear in the list when selecting "Import" in PSE.
My last (also still installed) PSE Version was 10. Here the CanoScan 9000F appears in the selection. For this Version I copied Twain_32.8BA from directory Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\Optional Plug-Ins\Import-Export into Adobe\PhotoShop Elements 10\Plug-Ins\Import-Export directory.
But in PSE 13, no such file exists. Copying the Version from PSE 10 does not work.
Is it right, that Twain Drivers are no longer supported?
Thanks for any help

Yep. I agree with the above comments. Other users have reported issues while working with outlook 64 bit. Here is one such discussion http://forums.adobe.com/message/3289324 .

  • COMPLAIN TO APPLE ABOUT USE OF SITES UNDER WINDOWS/EXPLORER

I filed the following complaint to Apple. I liked Apple very much since I changed two years ago. But iWeb changes this perception drastically! Its site do not work under IE/Windows!!!
File under 'feedback' button at 'Support iWeb' site.
"Apple people, could you please have a look at the very many people including myself complaining about the fact that we all bought iWeb which performs beautifull on a Mac but DOES NOT perform if used through Internet Explorer/Windows?
I am seriously thinking to reclaim my money because Apple should already have taken care of this issue."

There is a general reluctance of PC users to upgrade version to version. I can't really blame them with all the security holes and the generally cobbled together and intertwined nature of PC software/hardware. My work still uses some version of IE 5, I think...and yes, it barfs on the original website in question. I'm constantly bothering my IT folks about upgrading and all I get is a definite maybe. Of course, work computers are for work and the IT department really do see every application update as potentially that last straw that brings the whole thing down.
Thankfully, someone with admin rights secretly installed the latest FireFox version for me on my workstation.

  • Using Magic Mouse under windows 7 (32/64)

    Hello Apple;
it is my second issue after i solved the issue of duel OS (OSX & Win7), now every thing went good under win7 except the magic mouse, so when i open the Bluetooth and search the devices the system recognize the Magic mouse, but windows takes so long time connecting to Magic mouse, and finally it is not connected.
so how to solve this problem?

bluetooth connection is incredibly unreliable/intermittent when in Windows (I run Windows 7 64-bit and Boot Camp 4.0, and got both devices connected without any trouble via Bluetooth).
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4079148
After much testing, I have found the cause of lagging/jumpiness on the Bluetooth Magic Mouse and Magic TrackPad in Boot Camp.
    Hopefully this will help others:
The drivers for the Broadcom 802.11n Wireless Adapter have a setting called "Bluetooth Collaboration" that is Disabled by default. Enabling this option removes the problem instantly.
My Magic Trackpad now works flawlessly, even if I stand 6 metres from the machine. It now works just as well as under Mac OS. The setting can be found under:
Control Panel > Device Manager > Network Adapters > Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter (right click and choose "Properties".
Under the "Advanced" tab, highlight the setting named "Bluetooth Collaboration", then change it to Enable. Then click OK.
I narrowed the problem down to the wireless card by disabling ALL startup services and processes for Windows, then re-enabling one by one.
As soon as I enabled the Windows Wireless Service, the problem came back.
Similarly, disabling the Wireless Card inside the Network and Sharing Center (or Device Manager) removes the problem.
This led me to believe it must be a driver issue with the wireless card, since the problem didn't occur with the Magic TrackPad under Mac OS, or on my mother's Windows 7 64-bit computer.
So when I went into the Driver Properties to check for an update, I found this setting about Bluetooth Collaboration.
All Apple notebooks use the Broadcom card (and have done for years), so this driver is installed for almost anybody using Boot Camp on an Apple notebook. I'd assume this problem would affect anybody using Boot Camp + wifi + a Bluetooth device.

  • Why do I often get blank frames while acquiring images using external trigger under Windows 7?

I'm using Windows 7, the latest LabVIEW and IMAQdx right now. The program was developed based on the example provided by LabVIEW. Everything ran well on Windows XP using internal trigger or external trigger. But when I wanted to run the program on a desktop with Win 7, I just cannot get the images continuously using the external trigger. Although I can get the images, the blank frames showed up very often. When I chose the internal trigger, there was no problem.
Once I thought there might be something wrong with my program. But I tried the LabVIEW example to select the internal trigger mode and external trigger mode, it had the same problem.
Is there anyone could give me some suggestions to solve this problem?
    Thanks!

    Hi Matt,
The images are either "all blank" or "all good".
The hardware setup is exactly the same.
The blank images are not acquired periodically.
Similar results were also seen when using MAX to control the camera.
We found a solution to this problem. But we don't know how to explain it. When we were using the 5-Hz external trigger, we thought the video mode would not affect the image acquisition and therefore we left the video mode option as default (15 fps). But when we change the video mode to 7.5 fps or 30 fps, the problem disappeared. So now if we want to get rid of the blank frames while using the external trigger, we just need to choose the video mode other than 15 fps. Interestingly, when we switch back to the XP system, the camera also acquried inconsistent blank frames if we set the video mode at 15 fps.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Can't record web session in Web Application Transaction Monitoring using IE10 (Tried under Windows Server 2008R2 and 2012)

    Hi,
In Operations Manager Console 2012 SP1 including RU2 I am trying to record a web session in Web Application Transaction Monitoring.
    I have check that:
The add-on (Microsoft Web Recorder Helper) 64bit is Enabled.
The 64bit version of IE10 is running/launched. See this link for how to modify your registry key if needed:  http://kevingreeneitblog.blogspot.co.uk/2012/01/scom-2012-recording-web-browser-session.html
I have tried both on a Windows 2008R2 and 2012 server, but the recorder is not showing up as can been seen from Kevin's Blog (link above).
    Any Ideas?

I managed to get this working on both Windows 8 IE10 and server 2012 IE10. Tested on SCOM 2012 SP1 UR2 and UR3. I've done this process in lab and production several times so hopefully this helps you out.
    Checklist:
    1. Ensure that the 64bit IE10 is launching when the "start web-capture" is started in SCOM.
    2. Enable IE10 internet options:
a: Advanced - Security - Enable Enhanced Protected Mode
    b: Advanced - Browsing - Enable third-party browser extensions
    3. Close all running IE sessions and open the Registry Editor
    4. Registry Change (No reboot needed)
    - Browse to the following regkey:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
    - Add a new DWORD called TabProcGrowth and set it to 0
    5. Registry Change (No reboot needed)
    - Browse to the following regkey:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Discardable\PostSetup\Component Categories64\
-You should see two subkeys labeled: (These are the cached BHO IE objects related to the Web Recorder)
    {00021493-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
    {00021494-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
    - Delete only the above two mentioned keys (This will force IE to recache them next launch)
    6. Try to start the web capture again from SCOM 2012 SP1.
    7. When IE10 Launches enable the add-on again if you are prompted.
    8. If you still don't see the Web-Recorder pane in IE you can now show it by:
     - View - Explorer bars - Web Recorder

  • T61 only using one core under Windows XP?

    Hi,
I have a T61 that came preinstalled with Vista but we reinstalled XP Pro SP 3 on it since we need to work with software which doesn't work with Vista.
When looking in Windows Task Manager, it only shows me one core. I don't know whether the Vista Task Manager did this too (never had a chance to see it before it was reinstalled). Also CPU-Z can only identify one core, even though it correctly identifies the CPU as being a Merom T7300 CPU.
Could it be some power-saving option somewhere that is keeping the second core deactivated? Note that I don't have the Thinkpad softwares installed, since they didn't provide any functionality that worked better than Windows XP itself.

I have somewhere seen a setting to disable the second core as a power saving feature, but for the life of me I can't remember where, and I don't have my T61 on me to look at right now.  I'm thinking it was part of the thinkvantage power settings program, but I could be wrong.

  • Why is Elements 11 running slowly under Windows 8?

I got a new pc with Windows 8.  All the specs are better than my old one.  But PSE 11 runs MUCH slower than on the old one.  Costco Support suggested I look for an update to PSE 11 to run under Windows 8.  My PSE is ver 11.0.0.0 but it says it is up to date.  Any suggestions?

The Wacom drivers were up to date but the graphics card did need a new update and that really helped a lot.  I also turned off the Win 7 "ripple effect" that is standard with the Wacom.  It was annoying and I think it also caused a little slow down.
    Thank you!

I am having a similar issue with switching to English input being impossible with Windows 7 on my MB Air (13"). I have keyboard inputs activated for Chinese, both Traditional and Simplified (both of which I need), and in my keyboard settings in the "Region and Language" control panel utility, English input is also activated with the Apple keyboard option. However, no matter where in Windows or any program I happen to be, the language bar only shows the two Chinese options, and toggling is only possible between them, not English. Oddly, when I first log in to Windows, the "EN" for English *DOES* appear, but that's the only time it does. Truly perplexed and deeply annoyed. Any insights anyone?

  • CanoScan 9000F not seen by PSE 10 but is by PSE 8

PSE 8 has been installed on my I-Mac 27 OS 10.6.8 and working fine.
I upgraded to PSE 10.  Both 8 and 10 are on the computer.
I intalled the CanoScan 9000F. It shows up under System / Print/Fax
Acrobat pro sees it with "create pdf from scanner".
PSE 8 sees it with Import
PSE 10 doesn't see the scanner under Import.
    Suggestions?

In PSE 9 and 10 you must install the Adobe TWAIN driver to scan.  Go to Applications>Adobe Photoshop Elements 10>Support Files>Optional Plug-Ins>ImportModules, and move TWAIN.plugin from there into Applications>Adobe Photoshop Elements 10>Support Files>Plug-Ins>Import Modules.

  • Using scripting with networking equipment under Windows

It can be a challenge to use scripting to automate working with Cisco devices. The Cisco IOS does not seem to directly provide a command line interface. You are forced to find a way to automate interaction with a telnet or ssh session.
The PERL language provides a number of object-oriented methods to help manage an interactive session, most notably Net::SSH::Expect and Net::Appliance::Session. These options can work well in a Unix environment, but not under MS Windows.
There are PERL for Windows options, the best probably being Strawberry PERL. There is also a Unix under Windows option known as CYGWIN that is freely available. Unfortunately none of these will work well with the way Windows manages low-level terminal I/O. The curious can google "windows pseudo terminal" to see all the technical details.
One way that does work under Windows is Tcl.  It was initially named Tool Command Language. It is sometimes shown as Tcl/Tk.
Interestingly enough, Tcl is included within Cisco IOS as tclsh. There is no interaction with the tclsh and this example. It is just a bit of a curious coincidence.
A Tcl port to Windows can be downloaded from http://www.activestate.com/activetcl/downloads. Select Download ActiveTCL for Windows. A direct link to the download that worked at the time of writing is Download ActiveTcl 8.5.14 for Windows (x86)
Once base Tcl has been downloaded and installed there is one other component that will need to be installed from the Tcl Extension Archive, the expect package.
The teacup program that is installed with the base Tcl package makes this easy. The teacup program will work with a proxy.
You can set these Windows environment variables to specify proxy details:
    set http_proxy=
    set http_proxy_user=
    set http_proxy_pass=
    Then run teacup install expect
The plink tool from the PuTTY download is also needed. It can be obtained from http://www.putty.org/.
The sample that follows assumes that the data files, script and plink.exe executable all reside in the same directory.
A sample Tcl script follows that reads a file of devices and a file of commands. It will run the list of commands against each device in the device file. It has some basic error checking, but should best be considered a ‘beta’ version. You could do more complex interactions in the Tcl script by adding exp_send and expect command statements. In short, if you can type it you could script it!
Change directory to where your script, plink.exe  and data is stored and run with  tclsh <script_name>
    devices.list
    # Comment lines are allowed if they start with a hash mark
    # <IP_Addr> <userid> <password> <ssh|telnet> <timeout_in_secs>

  • Firefox does not "close" when closed under Windows 7; Task Manager must be used to "End Process." How do I close Firefox and reopen it without getting a "Still Running" error message?

Even though Firefox has been updated multiple times (currently using Ver. 3.6.13) since I started using Windows 7, I am still unable to totally close it from the toolbar or taskbar. Firefox does closeout on the screen but apparently continues to run in the background. If I open Firefox at a later time, I get an error message stating that Firefox is still running. I then have to go Task Manager to "End Process." Electing to do so allows me to restart Firefox. I never had this problem with Firefox when using Windows XP and I never have this problem with any other software under Windows 7.
