Import iPhoto slideshows results in "INSUFFICIENT CONTENT TO EDIT"

I created a small slideshow with iPhoto: FCP TEST.MOV
In some Final Cut Pro Projects I can Import the file.
But when I play the project I get a message: Turn Of unlimited RT.
The point is, I can't turn it of, because the only options I see is:
- Play Base Layer Only
- Use Play back settings
- Full Quality.
In Another project I can set the Unlimited RT off.
But Then I Can't Import the "FCP TEST.MOV".
a message will pop up: *Insufficient content For Edit.*

Turn Of unlimited RT
You need to choose the *Safe RT* setting, above Unlimited RT -they are mutually exclusive choices.
Insufficient content For Edit.
The in and out points on your Timeline have a longer duration than the source footage "FCP Test.mov". Set the out point to a duration that is at least as long "FCP Test.mov" or, remove the out point in the Timeline and set in and out on "FCP Test.mov" in the Browser.

  • Problems importing iPhoto to Aperture 3 - Insufficient Disk Space

I have just purchased A3, and am trying to import my iPhoto library into Aperture. The iPhoto library is 57Gb, and I am importing to an external HDD that has 660Gb free. I am importing into my aperture library, following the process described in the guide.
Each time I try this, the import goes into error, saying I have no space to import the library to.
The error message is as follows, "*Insufficient Disk Space* - There is not enough free space on your Aperture Library Volume to import the selected items. It is estimated that you need at least an additional -2147483647MB of Space"

I downloaded the trial version, and loaded it up onto my new 27" iMac, running Snow Leopard in 64 bit mode, with 600 GB free on the hard drive. I tried to import iPhoto - same error, same "insufficient disk space amount". Yah, my library is about 60 GB, not 2000 GB!
I did two things: First, I opened iPhoto from the finder by holding Option+Command, then in the resulting box, told it to rebuild the thumbnails. It chugged along for a while. After it was done I quit iPhoto. I then opened Aperture 3 trial, and imported the library. Same issue.
However, I tried it again - this time, I told it to save the photos in a folder - "Photos" it says - rather than in the Aperture library file. Tada! Works like a charm.
The import is still going after quite a while - slurping down all the CPU and RAM my iMac can provide while doing it - but it's working!

  • "Insufficient content for editing" missage

Sometimes I get "Insufficient content for editing" message when sending a FCP audio track to STP, however an audio file is created and I can process it. It does not link to the FCP time line however. This seems liks a bug, Help

  • Why do I keep getting the error message "insufficient content for edit"?

I'm following a tutorial to create crawling text but when I come to superimpose it onto my video, I get the error message "insufficient content for edit"?
The crawling text lasts for 10 seconds.
    I'm confused

I usually get that error when I'm trying to cut in a shot that FCP decides is lacking in content. It might be a perfectly good shot on its own, but it doesn't really add to the story. When I step back and think about it, the program is usually right. I also sometimes get "Edit operation had no effect" which is a little harsh. I like to think my edits have some effect.

  • "Insufficient content for edit" Error Message

In Premiere, when performing a three point edit, I would get a "Fit Clip" dialogue box that asked me if I wanted to "Ignore Source In Point", "Ignore Source Out Point", etc. I usually pick the same option so I checked off the box that said "Always use this choice". If an edit doesn't exactly fit the parameters I universally set, an error comes up saying, "insufficient content for edit".
I can't find a way to undo that without wiping my settings clean. Is there a way to bring that initial dialogue box back up? Thanks, all.

I figured it was a check box I was overlooking. Thanks!
For those who can't find it, here's a screen grab with the option highlighted.

  • Insufficient content for edit, four point editing, ignore out point on source

    Hello folks,
I'm a long time FCP 7 and Avid editor currently using 8.2 for two short form museum films and have been running into all sort of questions.  This one comes up multiple times a day.  I tried to search for this here but didn't find my exact issue or answers.
I am trying to do a four point edit and I keep getting the "Insufficient Content for Edit" error.  My source is marked in and out for 5 sec and my timeline in and out is marked for 8 sec.  Four points total.  I have already checked the Ignore Source Out point in the Fit Clip window and have checked the "Remember" box as well.  My source definitely have enough footage to fill the marked 8 sec in the timeline.  So why isn't PP ignoring the source out point when I commit the edit?  Of course, I works properly if I go to the Source window and remove the out point manually but that's a pain and shouldn't be the way.  Is PP not capable of this? or Am I doing something wrong?  What is the point of the "Ignore Source Out Point" if it doesn't apply to this very common situation?
Thanks for any help you folks can offer.
    CHL

I think I know what the issue is.
When the Fit Clip dialog opens for me and the source is shorter than the destination, "Ignore Source In Point" and "Ignore Source Out Point" are grayed out. In other words, when the source is shorter than the destination, my only option is to ignore sequence in or out points.
If my source is longer than my destination then it allows me to check ignore source in or out. However, if I have Premiere remember this choice, when I try to insert a source clip that is shorter than the destination, I get the error that you get.
It's obviously a terrible setup and shouldn't be like this, but that's why it's happening.

  • Importing iPhoto Slideshows

Is there any way to import good quality iPhoto Slidewhos into iMoive? When I export a slidehow from iPhoto then import it to iMovie the quality is very bad. Whne I export from iPhoto the quality setting is set at highest. Also when I try to simply export the slideshow directly to iDVD, the qalit is still not as good as if I was playing it from iPhoto. Please help.

The iPhoto slideshow displays a collection of photos, not video. It's essentially showing one photo after another, which by definition looks great. (iPhoto is smart enough to add transitions and the Ken Burns effect as the photos are displayed.)
When you export that iPhoto slideshow to QuickTime, the Mac creates a movie. Each photo is re-sized to fit the frame size of the movie, and the photos are converted to video that plays 30 frames per second — instead of one photo for 5 seconds, then another for 5 seconds. The movie has a smaller frame size. And since the image has been converted to another format, doesn't have the quality of the original.
When you import that slideshow to iMovie, iMovie may have to convert the video again, depending on the type of iMovie project it is.
When iDVD burns a DVD it does pretty much the same thing. It converts the iPhoto images to an MPEG-2 movie that can be played on a TV via a DVD player.
These conversions all have to do with preparing the slideshow to play on a TV. The display resolution of the TV is the controlling factor.
If playing on a TV is NOT your goal, you have other options. You can export the iPhoto photos to a large-frame QuickTime movie, for example. That export option is not offered for an iPhoto slideshow, unfortunately, but it is offered for a collection of photos. The exported movie can be set to play each photo for 5 seconds, for example. You can even import that movie to iMovie (which will, of course, convert it to DV.)

  • Can I Import iPhoto slideshow into FCP?

I wish to import a slideshow of a wedding to add to DV footage which ultimately wil be exported to iDVD. Trouble is, every time I import the slideshow it requires contstant rendering, and no matter how much I tweak the sequence settings- it still causes problems ie- constantly requires rendering, won't play properly- PAINFULLY slow... grrr. Any help appreciated in finding the right button? Be kind! I am sure the answer must be transparently obvious, but my manuals have not helped
    Ta again
    Martin

Many thanks for your help- my problem with iPhoto was that I could only create a sideshow with one music track-when a very long slideshow needed 3. I managed to export the slideshow using compressor turning the long slideshow into a DV file which FCP happily accepted. No doubt there is an easier way but I did not find it.
Guess I'm the guy who goes for the scenic route
    ta again for your thoughts

  • Import iphoto slideshow into ipad

Is it possible to import an iPhoto slideshow into an iPad?

    Hi Constance,
You would first need to export the slideshow from iPhoto as a Quicktime movie.
Then you can view it on your iPad.
    Here's how:

iPhoto '11: View photos or slideshows on iPod, iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV

    Hope this information helps ...

  • Importing iPhoto slideshow to Keynote presentation

How can I import an iPhoto slidewshow to a Keynote presentation? I would like to use Keynote templates for static slides including text as intros to photo slideshows within the presentation.

Thanks. I will try this but noting your advice re time to export slideshow to Q Movie, I might be better off dragging photos from Media and creating the show in Keynote. Thanks again for your quick reply.

  • Importing iPhoto Slideshow into DVD SP3

Sorry if this is a basic &/or repeated question. I've designed and built a slideshow in iPhoto 5.0.4 and set it for iDVD/TV output (4:3). When I bring the resulting quicktime mov file into DVDSP, it horizontally squishes the movie. Is this because the nature of square versus rectangular pixels? I've tried bringing the file into quicktime pro and adding some horizontal length to compensate for this (720 to 760), and though it saves the file to that size, it decidedly doesn't show that way in DVDSP (still views as 720). I've looked in the manual and self-help books for DVDSP 3 & iPhoto to no avail. Probably an easy answer I'm missing. Thanks for any ideas you can offer. -M.

    Powerbook G3 667 - 1GB RAM Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Thanks for replying. 720 x 480 is indeed the specs I'm using to export the slideshow from iPhoto. Yet for some reason, when viewing it in DVDSP, it horizontally compresses the movie. (Squishes it.) Is there something I'm missing on the DVDSP end?

  • Importing iphoto slideshows into imovie without degradation?

I'm sure this has been asked before but I can not find an answer... I have created slideshows in iphoto and when I export/import into imovie they are horrible degraded and pixelated. Is there any way to import them and keep their quality from iphoto? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I know I can do Ken Burns on pictures directly in Imovie, but I would have to re-edit all of my portrait oriented photos so that they aren't cropped when the KB effect is applied and I'd rather not - I am happy with how the slideshows turn out in iphoto - if only they didn't look horrible once exported!

I exported my slideshows as quicktime movies and imported them into iMovie as movie clips. They look good in playback. Of course I'm having other problems laying music over it, but it may be a problem unrelated to the Quicktime .mov files.

  • "Insufficient content to edit" - Why am I getting this error message?

I'm editing some video I captured in iMovie and getting along well. However, I've just tried to import some more footage and suddenly I get the above error message and I cannot proceed
    Any ideas?

    Hi Tom
I'm doing exactly the same as I have done previously to other clips I have successfully added to the timeline. I select the clip I wish to edit from the clips in my bin, insert in and out points and then drag across to the canvas window to add to the timeline. It makes no difference how long the clip is, short or long I get the same error message. I've even closed down FCE and re-opened it but that hasn't worked.

  • Insufficient content when cutting from sequence as individual clips

When cutting from one sequence into another, with an in point set on the source sequence and an in and out set on the program sequence, I get a "Insufficient Content for Edit" error.
This occurs when I have the "Insert and overwrite sequences as nests or individual clips" toggle deselected (so as to cut in the individual clips, not a nested sequence). If I select this toggle the edit works, but obviously as a nested sequence, which I do not want.
Is anyone else having this issue?

We are getting nested sequences whenever we try to cut in a sequence that is more than a minute or two long.  We can't get it to cut in anything but a nest for longer clips and if the in/out points are in excess of four minutes, Premiere crashes.
Do you get the Image/cache error?
I have contacted Adobe customer service.  They kept me on the line for an hour deleting my settings and playing around and never found a solution.  So far all we can do is cut in little tiny bits at a time.
I wonder if your problem is similar, how much material are you trying to cut in?
