Import language

hello, when i use SMLT to excute the language installation,it stop with error:"select a valid package",i had tried to use a new downloaded language package,it still stop with the same error, pls. help me.

You have to use the same package as for the installation of the system was done.
If you have installed EHPs then you need to provide additionally all the support packages between the initial installation and your current state.

  • Import language (SMLT) after EHP 03

    Hello,
we started with a few languages in ECC 600 directly imported after installation. But now we have to install another 2 languages. But meanwhile we have "upgraded" the system to 603 via EHP...
If I start the SMLT import a package is found, but the checks of the package shows me there are different version from the language package (SAP-APPL 600) and the system version (SAP-APPL 603).
How can the language be imported ?
How to enable the "unconditional modes" in the import of language packages ? (use mode u8 in import, warning instead of error in component test...) These possibilities are grey and cannot be chosen.
I know the notes 195442, 352941 and so on. But these notes only tell to import the main version and load the language parts of all imported support packages. But as stated before the import is not possible due to the package test and 600 <> 603...
    Kind regards, Hinrich

  • Error importing Language pack ESECC62F.PAT

    hi all!
I'm installing a server ECC 6 SR2, and now to complete the process I need to install the language pack I have in my file "ESECC62F.PAT" and am leaving in the path "\ usr \ sap \ trans \ EPS \ in ".
and perform the previous steps in the TCode I18N, and now trying to import the package in the TCode SMLT tells me an error.
I know it must generate a set of transportation orders, which are downloaded into the folder Cofile and Data.
Someone can give me some indication of this, that I can do otherwise?
    thanks

Hi got it done....finally the above two notes helped me out.
    tp import <req no.> <SID> client<nnn> pf='usr/sap/trans/bin/TP_DOMAIN_<SID>.PFL' "-Dr3transoptions=tcs=100000000"
Hope this would be helpful to others also.

  • Export and Import language setting

    Dear all
I export the database by using NLS_LANGUAGE='TRADITIONAL CHINESE' in Sun UNIX box with Oracle 8.0.5 (characterset and n characterset are both 'ZHT16BIG5').
When I tried to import to a WinXP with Oracle 8.1.7, even though I had set the environment variable as 'TRADITIONAL CHINESE'. (i.e. set NLS_LANGUAGE='TRADITIONAL CHINESE') When I tried to import, there is a warning showed that the current import characterset is 'AMERICAN', and character conversion will be occurred. How can I prevent the character conversion during the import. Is there any mistake I had made? It worked in both unix environment before.
    Thanks in advanced

    Hi,
Well, afaik, when exporting/importing in order to have the language options right, the use of NLS_LANG is recomanded..
Maybe you should try over with something like $ #before export
    $ export NLS_LANG=CHINESE_CHINA.ZHT16BIG5
    $ exp ...
    C:\> REM Before import
    C:\> set NLS_LANG=CHINESE_CHINA.ZHT16BIG5
C:\> imp ...I usualy (not using any Chinese charset though) do it this way and have no problem.

  • How to import language in SRM5.0 non unicode system

    hi gurus!
my client wants me to install chinese and french language for thier demo purpose in SRM5.0.
i have downloaded the language packs required for that., but they are not in car/sar format. where in SMLT its asking in car/sar format
    please assist me in this
    thanks & regards
    KIRAN

I do not understand in what at you a problem.
you create in se38 --> RSCPINST french language?
then you go to smlt and create the french language -->
then press the import package and in Path write the way to folder like
    servername\d$\language\LANG1
    then press "Find Packages".
in Available languages see the french language (If correctly will specify a full way)
Then choose or "Start on instance" or simply press Execute
    Wait  transport.
in rz10 create the zsca/installed_languages (in my case ER --> Eng+ Russian)
    Restart the server.

  • Smlt import language blocked

    Hello,
I must import Italian language in ERP2005. I use SMLT -> import package, I see the icon "import running" but the import not ends.
I cannot use "restart" because language is locked.
I try to abort operation (after several hours) with "abortimp" and then restart it but I have the same problem.
If I log-in with IT language some words are in Italian and other in english.
    Some hints?

    Hello,
I had a similiar issue except with Japanese and English being displayed.  You may want to try regenerating some programs to see if this corrects those screens and if so then you may need to just run SGEN to regenerate them all. If that doesn't work then there may be a problem with the load/buffers.  see OSS note 110910 for more info on this.
As for actually getting the icon in smlt to show cancelled I am still having that issue myself although the screens now show correct as far as the language.  Can you help me with that one if you got that part
    Thanks

  • Language Import problem

    Hello all,
We met a language problem after SMLT importing ZH language.
Our system is ECC 6.0 SR3, newly installed, support package level:
    SAP_BASIS    SAPKB70014
    SAP_APPL      SAPKH60011
after  installing, I import language from DVD 51033496_6, and then, I logon system with ZH language, most of the words are displayed as Chinese but strange is that some descritptions (when I click F4) are displayed as blank, function consultant said it should be displayed as normal. so, I'm confused wether there are some more language I need to import.
Currently in SMLT, under Chinese, there are two items:
    Imported packges:SAPKLZHM10
    Suplemented ith: ENGLISH
    I have following two questions:
    1. do I need to import anymore languae packages in order to display all chinese correctly?
    2. do I need to import netweaver lanuages? since some tcodes like DB02, SM37 are still in english
    3. is it obligatory to download othe language packages in solution manager? because I search "language neweaver" in service market place, but no record returned.
Thank you very much for all.
    Freshman

    Hello Freshman,
As you are running an ECC 6.0 SR3, you have used the correct language package to install ZH language (that is, package SAPKLZHM10 from DVD 51033496_6).
But installing the language package is just the first step that you have to perform when installing a new language in the system.
This is what you have to do next to complete the Chinese language installation:
    1. Install the language part of Support Packages.
If Support Packages have been applied into the system before installing ZH language, the texts in ZH included in those Support Packages are not available yet in your system. Therefore, you must proceed as follows:
SMLT --> single click on 'Chinese' to select it --> Language --> Special Actions --> Import Support Packages
a new screen will be displayed with all the Support Packages of your system. If any of them has a red light, it means that the ZH texts from that package are not in your system, so you have to click the 'Go to next screen' button. Now you will see a list with the Support Packages that had a red light in the previous screen; clicking again the 'Go to next screen' will start the import of the Chinese texts stored on those Support Packages.
    2. Now you have to supplement Chinese language with English in all the clients of the system, starting with client 000. In order to do it logon into client 000 and go to:
SMLT --> single click on 'Chinese' to select it --> Language --> Supplement Language
if a screen pops-up with information about the Secondary Language, just click 'Yes' to continue.
Write anything you want in the 'Description' field, leave the default options and click 'Execute' to start the supplementation.
Once that it finishes, do the same in all the other existing clients in the system.
    3. Finally, go to transaction SE38 and execute report RSTLAN20. In the selection screen that is displayed after executing the program select all the check boxes. It will refresh the language load from the buffers.
After that check the screens again, this time they should not be displayed as blank. Anyhow, if you have any problem update this thread and I'll have a look at it.
Regarding your second question about importing the netweaver language package, it is not needed. The language package for ECC 6.0 is enough. You must take into account that the degree of translation of Chinese is 0 (it can be seen in SMLT, double click in 'Chinese'). It means that SAP has only delivered some texts translated into Chinese, you cannot expect to have all the texts in the system in Chinese. For the languages with degree of translation lower than 2, most of the "technical" transactions (DB02, ST04, etc) are not translated and will be displayed in the supplementary language (English in your case).
And regarding the Solution Manager language package, in an ECC 6.0 system you don't have to install any Solution Manager language package.
But if you have a Solution Manager system, you must use the corresponding language package created for Solution Manager systems. Depending on your Solution Manager release, you have to use one of these DVD: (you will find all the information about which DVD and language package corersponds to each release in [SAP Note 330104|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/330104|Link to SAP Note 330104] )

  • Language import using SMLT

    Hi,
I'm trying to import the French language into a 4.6c R/3 IDES training system. In transaction SMLT during the import process i'm having an issue with the path for the language packages. How do i point this to Front End Cd drive? Whatever path I put in there, it returns with an error, "Specify a valid path". I've tried copying the files to the local SAP server in a directory, for example to C:\lang and entering this into the path, but still have no sucess.
    According to this : -
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/EN/a3/30ad5296b511d384bb0060975b04f3/content.htm
There should be an option to "Load from Front End", this I don't have to can't see.
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Tin,
    check below things
Before you start transaction SMLT for language import, you must configure the required languages using the RSCPINST report. For more information, see SAP Note 42305.
In SMLT, the names of the imported language packages are only displayed with up to 12 characters. Therefore, language packages with longer names (up to 20 characters) are truncated.
    Also check

If yes, have you ever update kernel, support packs or patches before importing language?
If you downloaded this from SMP, then you should consider ABHISHEK SINGH comment that there is a mismatch in version like kernel version EXT or non EXT etc...
