Import list of file locations in to AME using txt or XML?

CS5 Adobe Creative Suite on Window 7.
AME version 5.0.1.0 (64bit)
Hello, we store many thousands of video files on a NAS. Each file is uniquely identified by a 9 digit barcode which is also the filename. Sometimes we need to batch transcode from these files. I was wondering if there was any facility to provide AME with a txt file or basic XML listing the directory location of the files needed to batch transcode? Currently I will produce a report from our database and export a list of barcodes to a txt file. I then use this txt file in a FOR loop within CMD and use ROBOCOPY to make a new copy of all the files needed in a temp directory which I then import to AME. It would be useful if I could just provide AME with a list of the files I wish to transcode. I have done some research with no luck but not sure what terms would be most useful.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

You can set up the Temp folder as a Watch folder in AME.  Then anything you put in that Temp folder will get transcoded.

  • Import external text file into table in database using web form

    I whant to import data from text delimited file located in os
    into oracle table using web form.
    I am using ORACLE DATABASE 8i, APPLICATION SERVER 9i
    and ORACLE FORMS DEVELOPER AND FORMS SERVER 6i (Patch 2)
    Is there anybody who know how can i do this?
    Thank you!

    WebUtil uploads the files as Binary - so yes you could have some issues if you have a Unix host - however, that would only mean that there is an extra character to trim off of the end of the line read by Text_io.

  • Loading flat files located on a server using the Control Center piece ofOWB

    Loading flat files from a server with OWB
    I am successful loading files with OWB, as long as they resided on my workstation in the C:\ drive. I copied the files to a Linux server into directories owned by Oracle/oinstall, permissions on the directories containing the files are 777. I ran the OWB client from the server with the following results:
    Error
    RPE-01013: SQL Loader reported error condition, number 1.

    I tried to load the file using the control center from both the windows client and the server client. Can I do this from either one?
    I can't import the file in the Design Center from the /u00/data/owb_repos1 directory, it does not show up.
    If anyone has received similiar errors from OWB, please tell me how I can fix this. THANKS!!!
    [d97886@owbtest owb_repos1]$ pwd

    Hi
    This is what i do for my flat files (i am loading my tables from the flat files):
    1) Create location for the files in OWB and it should look something like \\path_to_where_the_files_are. Here you should be able to browse to your Linux box and select the location of the files.
    2) Then check whatever you use (i use TOAD) and you should see in owb schema a directory created there which points to the location of the flat file.
    3) then just follow the guide to sample the files etc and you are good to go.
    Basically OWB has to be able to see the files that are on Linux machine.
    Alternatively you can map your Linux share to your windows box (use samba or something) and use it that way.
    Sorry if it is stating the obvious.
    Hope this helps
    Kind Regards

  • Open files located in AS by using WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT

    Hi ,
    I need to open some documents in the client machience, documents are located in the AS .
    This method is working,
    WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('http://<server_name>:<port>/forms/java/myFile.doc');
    but the problem is, documents should be in the ORACLE_HOME/Forms/Java or its sub path. but i want to keep the documents out side the ORACLE_HOME. Any body can help me?, i think we have to do some configurations in the formsweb.cfg or forms.cfg file.
    Also, is there any other better solution to open the documetns(PDF/DOC/XLS) in the client machine, but the files are located in the AS.
    Thanks in advance
    Rizly

    add another virtual directory to your forms.conf file referening the real directory outside your ORACLE_HOME
    forms.conf is in same loaction as formsweb.cfg
    eg
    # Virtual path for all my documents PDF/XLS/DOC
    AliasMatch ^/forms/mydocs/(..*) "F:\path_to_my_doc_dir/$1"
    you have to restart your http server and OC4J forms services after modification

  • Import a dumpy file to newly created schema using the old schematablespace!

    I'd created an export dump file of user X with rows=n (for Replicating the schema data structures to another schema). When I import using this dump file to newly created user Y. The newly created objects(tables,indexes) are using the tablespaces that were used in X instead of the default tablespace of Y.
    How can I import X objects into Y with Y's default tablespace.?

    CJ and others,
    This just worked fine for me. here is what I did:
    sql> connect system/manager
    create tablespace tbs1 datafile tbs1.f size 10m;
    create tablespace tbs2 datafile tbs2.f size 10m;
    create user user1 indentified by user1 default tablespace tbs1;
    create user user2 indentified by user2 default tablespace tbs2;
    create table user1.tab1 (a number);
    insert into user1.tab1 values (100):
    commit;
    exit;
    $ exp user1/user1 file=user1.dmp
    sql> connect system/manager
    drop tablespace tbs1 including contents;
    exit
    imp system/manager file=user1.dmp fromuser=user1 touser=user2
    This imported user2.tab1 into tablespace tbs2. I think if tbs1 was still around, then it would have imported it into tbs1.
    Thanks

    The following sub reads all the folders in a root folder. Note the use the FSO or file system object. The FSO has a number of properties and methods for working with files and folders, would definetly check it out.
    Sub ReadProjects()
    'This sub reads all the Folders in the root
    Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
    Set Folder = fso.Getfolder(RootPath_)
    Set Folder = Folder.SubFolders
    i=1
    For Each SubFolder In Folder
    LstStates.Items.add SubFolder.name,i

    This next code snipit reads all the files of a certain extention (i.e. LPD,DAT)

    Dim x,y,z
    x=1:y=1:z

    The problem has to be with my settings. when I upgraded it deleted all my prefrences and settings. There was no dslr preset either so I had to redo it all from  scratch to the best of my ability. Here is a complete rundown of my settings:

  • XI2 scheduling to file location problem

    source file error. CrystalEnterprise.DiskUnmanaged: The system cannot find the path specified.
    I receive the above error when scheduling to put a file in a file location.
    I have used the format
    servername\directory\subdirectory\subdirectory
    and
    servername\directory\subdirectory\subdirectory
    The scheduler appears to change all \ to / - not sure if this is relavent
    Previously I was receiving file cannot be found error and I replaced a space in the path name with %20 and I received the cannot find path specified.

    I am using XI 3.1, so I am not sure whether this is the enhancement compared to XI R2.
    I have used Directory path llike
    //servername/directory/subdirectory/subdirectory
    & it works fine.

  • Unable to import PKCS12 certificate file to ACE module

    Hi,
    I'm currently in the process of replacing my CSS-appliances with the ACE module. So far everything's been smooth, but when I'm trying to import a certificate file to the respective context using the "crypto import"-command, ACE can't recognize the filetype, it's just marked as UNKNOWN. On the CSS I had to specify PKCS12 as the fileformat, but this is apparently not an options on the ACE. Does anyone know the equivalent commmand on how to import a PKCS12-file to the ACE?
    Thankx
    /Ulrich
    PS! I haven't created a cert chaingroup, as I was told this would not be necessary.

    Hi Ulrich,
    Short answer is you cannot import PKCS12 format. You'll need to extract the component parts into PEM format outside of the ACE and then use crypto import.
    You will also need a chaingroup unless this is a self-signed certificate. Again any intermediate and root certificates will need to be in PEM format.

  • How to configure spool file location

    Hi all,
    I want to configure a default spool file location, so whenever I use spool in my SQL script, the file will be saved in this location. Please help me on how to configure it.
    Thanks in advance

    The spool file ends up in the path you specify, or in the working directory (where you start sqlplus), like this:
    C:\>
    C:\>cd %my_spool_dir%
    C:\oracle\admin>sqlplus ...
    sql> spool test
    Or you could just use your own standard spool.sql script as zetabouy suggests!

  • I want to change the file location for the automatic backup file bookmarks.file, but I can't find browser.bookmarks.file in the list on the about:config page.

    I asked about automatic backup of bookmarks and received the following answer:You can make Firefox 3 create an automatic HTML backup (bookmarks.html) when you exit Firefox if you set the pref [http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML] to true on the about:config page. That backup is created by default in the profile folder as bookmarks.html, but you can set the file name and path via the pref [http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.bookmarks.file browser.bookmarks.file] on the about:config page. I went to about:config page and toggled browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML to “Yes” and it’s working. However, I want to change the file location, but I can’t find browser.bookmarks.file in the list.

    The browser.bookmarks.file preference does not exist by default. Right-click in about:config and select "New > String" to create it.

  • Where are my important files located in Leopard 10.5?

    I had an old file from apple titled "Where are my important files located?" which applied to 10.3. I could not find this same doc for 10.5. It had the location of all the important files for safari, mail, address book, etc. and was handy when I was mirgrating files or backing up or so forth. Is there now an updated file/doc for this with regards to 10.5 Leopard? Or is every important file's location still located in the same location? Thanks

    Hi Teal,
    I'm a big "foggy" on a lot of the OS X 10.3 "Panther" stuff but I think you'll find OS X 10.5 to be pretty similar in most regards.
    As far as your user information, everything related to your user will be in the /Users/username location. The "Library" folder is probably the most important when it comes to application related data such as Safari, Mail, Address Book, iCal, etc. Some applications will have a folder directly inside the library folder (/Users/Username/Library/ApplicationName) and some will store data in the Application Support folder (/Users/Username/Library/Application Support/ApplicationName)
    The important thing, is that all of your user data is stored in the /Users/Username location that will often be represented by a "House" icon when signed into that user.
    Where it gets a little tricky, is some applications will store data in the /Users/Shared location and the /Library location. So if you ever do a total system migration there's a possibility you'll need to reinstall some applications. A Time Machine backup can assist with system migrations as it does a full and complete backup of your HD, including the User's home folder.
