Import music dvd to itunes

Hi all, new to this and can't figure out how to download my live music dvds so I can hear the music on my ipod. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You might try Audacity. It will, I believe, allow you to record the sound output of your computer. This is legal as far as I know (the so-called "analog loophole") as it doesn't involve breaking the encryption. It is a bit of a pain but it should work.

Best of luck.

What is the procedure to import Music DVD's into iTunes and down to an ATV? Do I need a ripper in addition to something like MacTheRipper or Handbrake?

    itunes offers no such facility.

How do I copy my new Andrea Bocelli music DVD into itunes?

    No, CDs aren't generally encrypted.
    I purchased the CD's in precisely the same manner as my new music DVD and from the above reply it would appear that I am precluded from enjoying my legally purchased DVD on my own Ipod;
    Yup, that's correct.
however, if I had purchased a music DVD from itunes I could only then import this live music onto my Ipod (and possibly create a backup DVD as well?) - surely logic dictates that something is seriously amiss?
The iTunes Store doesn't sell DVDs. Video content sold by the iTunes Store can be back up to a DVD but not burned to a DVD that can be played on a regular DVD player.
There simply must be someone out there to help me with a method and means to get my music DVD onto my Ipod, as this is very important to me.
I gave you the only method that can be talked about on these forums.
    From the terms of use:
    http://discussions.apple.com/help.jspa
+Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store.+
Sorry if it's not the answer you want.
    Best of luck.

  • Can you download a music DVD to iTunes

I was just wondering can you download a music DVD to iTunes?

    (1) If you're talking about commercial, copyright-protected DVDs, you should be aware that it is illegal in many counties, possibly including yours.
    (2) If you're talking about commercial, copy-protected DVDs, you should be aware that providing advice on breaking copy protection schemes is illegal in the US, where this forum is based; posting such advice would break the forum's ToU, and hosting such advice would make Apple liable to prosecution.
    (3) If you're talking about DVDs which are not copy protected and whose copyright holder gave you the licence to copy them, then you may use Disk Utility. Once copied, you can play the content using DVD Player.
For common DVD, i think hanbrake can meet your needs.

  • Importing protected DVD into iTunes

    Hello All
At the very outset - let me admit I love Shaun T's workouts and I always will legitimately pay for those than have them downloaded via other "unfit" means :-)
So the issue am seeking help on is this - I have bought the DVDs for couple of BeachBody Shaun T workouts (Insanity & Focus T 25). Now I use a MacBook pro which does not have an optical drive and every time I want to do the workout means I have to chug along the super drive, and it feels very primitive in today's time and age. Now these DVDs are protected and there is no way I can import them into iTunes and then get them onto my iDevices, so I can break a sweat even if I am in a tiny hotel room on my tiny iPhone 6 Plus screen (Yes - it is tiny when you are trying to follow those moves on a screen that size while half dead in motion!)
Is there anyway to do this i.e. import those DVDs into iTunes and then consume them like you would with any other iTunes media?
Thanks in advance for your help/suggestions
P.S: Cannot fathom why Beach Body doesn't sell their workouts on iTunes!

Depending on where you are it may be legal for you to backup your purchases. Check your local laws.

http://Handbrake.fr may help if you need different sizes etc.
Just make sure you keep the original discs otherwise it becomes piracy.

  • Importing from DVD to iTunes 7 on Windows XP -- blue screen crash?!?

    Hi,
I'm trying to import a DVD of music I burned from my iTunes library on my iMac to a Windows XP laptop. The first disc burned just fine, but the second one crashed with a blue screen error (though it flashed by too quickly to get the particulars). After re-booting, when I open iTunes, it continues to rip the DVD just fine. Until I insert the next DVD, when the same thing happens all over again.
I have already authorized the windows machine with my iTunes password. The iMac is an intel core duo running OS 10.4 and the laptop is a T61 Thinkpad dual core processor (2.4gHz?) with Windows XP and 4 gigs of RAM.
Does anyone know what is going on or what I need to do to fix it?

can you import music from itunes on one computer to another?

There are a number of things you could do. One would be to network the to computers and transfer your iTunes folder from one to another. You can also use your iPod as a hard drive and move the folder with it though that would be considerably slower than computer to computer. Here are a few links that may help you out:

  • Help importing music back to Itunes from Ipod

My Windows 7 computer crashed and needed to re-install windows.  As a result lost all music loading into Itunes (most of it not purchased through Itunes).  I need to know how I can transfer the music from my Ipod back to Itunes.  In the past when connecting the Ipod it automatically starts syncing with Itunes so if I connect it now I assume all the files on the Ipod will be deleted since they are not on Itunes now.  Please help me retrieve all my content and import it back to Itunes.
