Hello,
I am a starter with Iphone and I am really lost when it comes to importing music. Even my colleagues, experienced iphone users, can't help...
So, I follow the steps to import music from my mac to my iphone.
It requires to synchronize, adds that my iphone is already synchronized to another library, that it will delete all the current content to connect to myu library.
How can I
-disconnect from current library? (??? I never connected to any library before...)
-not lose data and apps currently on iphone

I will give more details, maybe it makes my request clearer:
-i never synchronized my phone before… I plugged it to my Mac, dowsnloaded whatever itunes said, that's it... so to which rig is it synchronized now? (I am only using my iphone from this Mac, and my library is absolutely empty)
-if I synchronize it, will I loose all the apps, messages, etc.? (I have a back up already but I'd rather avoid having to reinstall)
I hope it's clear... I am totally lost in mac's particularities!

My Macbook Pro recently crashed and I had to reinstall the operating system. I lost all the music in itunes that I had ripped from cds. However all the music is still on my iphone. Why can't I just import all the music from my iphone back to itunes on my Macbook ?
Using Lion OSX and Iphone 3gs. Haven't updated to os 5 as it says it will wipe all music from my iphone.

Why does it take so long to import music to iphone 4?

My son has an iphone 4 and recently upgraded. Now it takes forever to import new music to his device from itunes after the upgrade. I should add it is an 8Gb
and he doesn't have much space left, but all imports before upgrade were quick. He also is doing all his syncing with a P.C. not a mac, if this matters. Thanks very much.

Upgrades in the computer world typically add features, and additional features almost always take additional memory. That applies to iPhone iOS upgrades.
8GB iPhones are not manufactured any longer, so, yes, memory must be extremely tight. Further, iPhones (and iPads) need an absolute minimum of 10% of their space free so iOS can do its work. In your son's case, that means at least 800MB must be free or the iPhone will not be able to function.
Depending on which version of iOS is on the iPhone, try Settings > General > Usage to see what is using much of the space on the iPhone, and clean off some of the heavy hitters.

ive recently moved into a new house and have no permanent computer/laptop, i've authorised my phone on 2 computers but each computer has different music on. i just want to put all the music onto one computer, how do i import the music currently on my phone to my intended iTunes?

Why hot just use your backup copy to move your music or copy them to dvd,cd, external drive,flash drive etc?
The music sync on iphone is one way - computer to iphone. The exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
Otherwise you will need to use ( at your risk) a third party program ( not supported by Apple).

Powerbook G4 so no itunes 11 for my new iphone .Is there a program I can use to Import Music to Iphone without using itunes ?

Hi i just got a new Iphone 5c and my itunes says i need 11 to reconize the iphone , of course having a powerbook g4 i can not upgrade to itunes 11 .
I got all my other stuff from the cloud to my new phone except over 3000 songs that were from cd's on my computer.
Ive been looking for a program i can use to import the music to my new phone , but everything i try wont install , i think its cause of my g4 .
anyone know of a program i can use for this ? Unfortunatly i cant afford a new computer right now and i need my music.

ITunes won't import music from iPhone to iTunes Library

I have a large Purchased playlist on my iPhone. However, none of these songs will sync to my iTunes. They are shown in my Music tab under my phone but not in my actual iTunes library. Clicking sync shows the songs greyed out in my library with the progress wheel momentarily, but then they disappear from the library - as if it cancelled the syncing to my laptop. This is just one of numerous issues I am having with iTunes. Anyone know of a fix? I've already restored my phone due to other issues I was having as of a couple days ago, and I've already deleted all my music from my phone and attempted to re-sync it, but nothing works. So many issues with this program. What gives, Apple?

I have a bunch of music on my iPhone and I have a new PC laptop. I just added iTunes to my laptop. When I try to Sync my music in iTunes the message comes up, "... the music on this iPhone will be deleted and replaced with the iTunes library..." There is nothing in the iTunes library, so this would be a total data loss, wiping out all the music I want to add. How do I add the music on my iPhone to my iTunes on my new laptop?

The iphone is not a storage/backup device. The sync is one way -exception itunes purchases.
You need to copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

Weird... dragging of songs onto my iPhone is the only thing that works for me. AT&T messed up the config on my SIM card during the activation process while trying to transfer my number, and now I have to return it for a new card after talking with their tech "support" for over 4 hours today.
So basically I have, literally, an iPhone Shuffle.
That said, the other 3 phones on our plan work, but do not allow songs to be dragged.

My old laptop was destroyed, and I lost all of my music with exception of what's on m ipod currently. I got a new computer and installed itunes, but it's not giving me the option to import music into itunes from my ipod. I really want to be able to keep the music on my ipod, but I also have other music I want to add to itunes to add to my ipod later.
I have an ancient ipod classic, so I don't know if it's an issue because the ipod is so old, or if it's operator error because I'm just shy of computer illiterate. Help please!!

Thanks for the question. You can transfer certain media types from your iPod to a new iTunes library. These include music, movies and TV shows that were purchased from the iTunes Store. If you have music imported from a CD or other source, iTunes can’t transfer this media back to a computer:
