Import my Itunes from Macbook to Macmini

I have a 3 year old Macbook and a new Mac mini. I am trying to move the music from my Itunes on Macbook to the new mini. Home sharing only works when both computers are on and Itunes is open on both? There must be a way to transfer the music, right?
I must be missing something obvious. Please take a moment to point it out.
Thanks

Please delete this question. It was stupid. Sorry

  • Is there a way to import in iTunes--from a CD--a partial track of a song?

is there a way to import in iTunes--from a CD--a partial track of a song? (i.E., there are a few seconds of junk-talk before the music begins; I'd like to omit the talk).

If you have the song in iTunes already you can select it and "Get Info" then under the options tab...I think it's options, I'm away from my computer....change the start time to a time that is after the talking intro.  From then on the song will start at the desired time.

  • Cannot import to iTunes from disc

I am unable to import to iTunes from a CD in my optical drive E. I am able to install programs using the same drive, but when a disc is inserted, it makes the "whirring" sound spinning the disc, then stops soundlessly. It also is not recognized by iTunes diagnostics, and no disc shows in the iTunes sidebar. I cannot import using Windows Media Player, either. However, there seems to be a recognition of an inserted disc because when I have iTunes closed, and then insert a disc, iTunes opens automatically (following the "Import" upon inserting disc preference under "Preferences"). Advice would be most appreciated.

I forgot a couple of details. First, my hard drive has recently been almost completely filled (about 3% left), and I have been wondering whether this could be related. Additionally, the discs I have tried to import worked fine in another computer. The iTunes diagnostics readout is below:

I am trying to import aperture library from macbook to new imac the import window sees the external harddrive but does nt see library.  I can open library as a refernce library but cannot import onto hardrive as managable files

I may be misreading what you are trying to do but you don't import libraries via the import window. You use File->Import->Library..
If this doesn't resolve your problem post back with more detail of what you are doing and what is happening.

  • I cannot get music originally imported to itunes from CD to sync on my ipad Air

I set up my iPad Air from the back up of my ipad 3, and everything was transferred except for music which had originally been imported to iTunes from CD.   I have tried syncing with iTunes on the computer but that doesn't work either.  I have also noticed that when I sync my ipad 3 to the computer, whilst the CD imported music is on the iPad, and plays ok, all the album art is lost.  Can anyone help please?

De-sync all of your music in order to remove it from the device. Then, re-sync.

  • Music imported into iTunes from CD's

i tried to find a thread about this topic but was unable.
howcome i can't take music from cd's that i've purchased at best buy and drag them onto my iPhone? or is there a way that i am missing?
again, i apologize if there is a thread about this already.
    thanks.

Have you imported the music from the music CDs into your iTunes library?
If so, you can use the sync option - making your selections under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences. All music and playlists, or selected playlists choosing the available playlists that you have created with iTunes.
Under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences, there is also a selection to sync only checked songs and videos. If this is selected and the songs you wanted transferred to your iPhone are not checked in iTunes, they won't be transferred.
If you want to manually manage music and videos instead of using the sync option for this content, you need to select manually manage music and videos under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences. This provides for manually selecting music in your iTunes library and dragging the selections to your iPhone in the iTunes source list.

  • Importing/restoring iTunes from an external hard drive

I have Windows XP and my laptop crashed. I had/have everything on a back up external drive, so I've restored my laptop and I'm trying to import my iTunes information from the external drive and it's not doing it. I am wondering if it's because it's an older version of iTunes. Is there a way to import everthing that's on my iPod to iTunes and not worry about the external files or will it wipe my iPod blank? When I try to pull the info off the external drive it says that I'm trying to open a file that is an "Application Extension" (.dll) Any ideas? I'd hate to loose all my music and video. Thank you for any help anyone can give me

This really isn't the best place for this question. This forum is for helping with iTunes U, Apple's iTunes Store version for colleges and universities, and not for general iTunes help. I'd suggest you try asking in the appropriate iTunes forum; you'll be more likely to get quick and accurate responses there.
    Good luck.

  • Sharing--how can I transfer iTunes from Macbook to iMac?

I use my iMac as my "main" machine and storage place, but occasionally download iTunes from my Mac Powerbook. I've set the the sharing settings so that my Powerbook says "share my entire library" and my iMac says "look for shared library" (I don't want a complete library on both machines). Both are on the same Airport wireless network in the same house.
I'm not showing any of the Powerbook downloaded tunes on my iMac. Am I missing something? Do I need to insure that both machines are turned on?
It's not a major issue, since for the six months I've been using a Passport storage drive to make the transfer. Still, it would be far more convenient if the two computers "conversed" as I assumed they would.
    Thank you for any suggestions,
    Cap

I guess I meant do both programs have to be open simultaneously. I was running from one room to the other waiting to see additions to my iTunes library. But that clears it up. Not all bad news, because now it appears I can afford to have both computers in "search" mode without fear of cluttering up the storage space on the notebook.
    Thanks,
    Cap

  • How to migrate iTunes Library from MacBook to MacMini?

I have a MacMini next to the TV and would like to "migrate" the iTunes library from my MacBook to the MacMini and play it there through my music system. What files need to be moved? or are there better ways? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Veit

I also have somewhat the same question. I will be going from a MS Windows platform to an IMAC. I hope I don't have to reload all of my CDs.

  • Transferr Itunes from Macbook to Mac where Mac already as an Itunes library

The Mac I am writing on was filled with Itunes (some bought from Istore, some ripped from my CDs) a couple of years back. It was then not used for 2 years as it was sent to storage. In the meantime I bought a Macbook and also loaded some Itunes onto it. I now want to sync my libraries or (probably more realistic) import the Macbook library to the Mac library without losing any music. Any suggestions gratefully received. PS. I have Mobileme but have read that this is not ideal for use as an Itunes storage) Many thanks

There are a few utilities specifically designed to help you sync iTunes across different computers. You could begin your research by having a look at these for instance:
    TuneRanger
    SuperSync

  • Import slideshow video from Macbook Air

I am trying to import a slideshow created in iPhoto and saved on my desktop as a .m4v file. I can see it there but can find no way to transfer it to my iPhone 5S (IOS 8.0.2) or to my iPad (2) iOS 8.0.2. I have tried to connect Air drop but it doesn't seem to connect them and the file is much too large to email. Neither are synched through iTunes to my MacBook Air (Mavericks OS X 10.9.5).
Any suggestions would really be appreciated!

  • How to transfer movie rental from Macbook to macmini

  • Noob? Need to make Macbook primary iTunes (from Macbook Pro)

Ok, here's the deal. Work has supplied everyone with a Macbook and my phone is set to use my Macbook Pro as the standard iTunes account.
On my iPhone I have podcasts, some images, recorded notes, and of course, eight (8) pages of applications. Now, I know you can have just one computer synched with the iPhone (is there software, legit or not that will bypass this? Just curious). What is the proper way to take everything on my phone and synch it to my WORK macbook as this is the computer that I will use 90% of the time.
    Thank you.

iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content from an iPod or iPhone that was purchased from the iTunes store, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased from the iTunes store only.
With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
You should authorize the MacBook with your iTunes account with iTunes first.
If your iPhone includes any music or video that was not purchased from the iTunes store, you need to transfer your iTunes library from your MacBook Pro to the MacBook. Transferring the iTunes named folder in the Music folder will also transfer playlists, etc.
