Import of material groups into hierarchy not possible (note 432339)

Dear All,
I am trying to replicate material groups (DNL_CUST_PROD1) from R3 system. Prior to this our SRM system configured as standalone and Material Hierarchy is already defined. When I am trying to replicate the material groups in SMQ2 I am receiving status as "sysfail" and further I am getting above message. In the message the OSS note also mentioned. In the OSS note they have given following solution
Error message "Import of material groups into hierarchy &1 not possible":
In transaction COMM_PRAPPLCAT, you specify that the hierarchy specified in the error message is to be used for application 'Purchasing' (02). This means that the material groups would be created in this hierarchy. Delete this setting in Transaction COMM_PRAPPLCAT. If hierarchy R3MATCLASS already exists, assign
hierarchy R3MATCLASS to application 'Purchasing'. Then the material groups are created in hierarchy R3MATCLASS. If you want to import the material groups into the hierarchy specified in the error message, you can also keep this hierarchy
assigned to application 'Purchasing' and deactivate the error message. Error message "Import of material types into hierarchy &1 not possible". You can do this in Customizing under 'Customer Relationship Management -> Master data -> Basic settings -> Define system message characteristics'.
My problem is I am not able to find out the path given in the OSS note ( i.e, Customer Relationship Management u2013 Master data) . Any one can help me in this regard ?

one upon a time supplier relation ship management and customer relation ship management comes under EBP node i.e ebp 3.5 versions.

since u r aleady in standalone but now you may try push material group from ecc to srm .
so you need to do set up all crm middleware settings in ecc and srm.

HI,
create a new characteristic (KEA5), choose transfer from SAP-table (the tab. where your fiels is available in material master (MARA)), choose the field from the list of available fields from MARA, enter text, save, activate. Assign the char. to your op. concern. Generate the operating concern.
Aftre this steps the field is in yopur operating concern and the derivation rule can be seen in T-Code KEDR (rule created by SAP automatically). If not, add a derivation rule in KEDR (table lookup).

When importing a flash animation into captivate flash will not call external files

Is there a way to import flash into captivate and it still be able to call external files (ie. sound, video xml)? When I import flash into captivate it will not call any external file.

Wow, I was so hoping fellow Adobe Community Expert Paul Dewhurst would pop in on this thread.
Why? Well, Paul sent me a way cool gizmo a while back that hacked the Info button. It used an external file for some of the information! So somehow Paul managed to sort what it took to insert a Flash object into Captivate and have that object extract data from an externally located file.

Import Outlook contact groups into OSX Mail

Is there any way to automatically import a contact group from Mac Outlook Express5 to Mail? An AppleScript possibly?
The only alternative that I have seen is to copy/paste each individual email address from Outlook to a new group in Mail; one-at-a-time, extremely time consuming for large newsletter lists.
I'm trying to help a friend who has an iBook with OS9 and OS10.3.9.

You can't transfer the groups, you'll need to do it the hard way.
As for the duplicates, how many accounts do you have in your Address Book?

Is there an easy way to import entourage email groups into address book?

I don't want to import the contacts individually, but as group. Any assistance would be appreciated. Entourage 2004 and address book is 4.1

First go to the avid site and download the avid codecs for the mac. Not sure if they'll have compatible codecs for such an old version, but worth a shot. then do a test export from the avid. It would probably be smart to convert the clips using compressor to match your fcp sequence settings. Not sure if the timecode would come across. You could note the timecode of the first frame on the avid and then modify the clip once imported into fcp. Test your workflow before doing a lot of work.
You might also check if automatic duck's got something that would work.

SWF file imports as 32x32 icon into DW and will not show Flash playing in browser. WHY???

I had a one on one with my apple rep yesterday. They backed up all my photos on my computer. I was advised to delete photos from Photo stream on my iPhone and iPad and then back it up. I did backup the iPhone, ipad back not possible not enought space

I had a one on one with my apple rep yesterday. They backed up my camera roll from my iphone as well as my ipad on my computer as I was not able to backup to icloud due to lack of space.
They advised me to delete photos from my photo stream on my iphone and ipad and then do a back up.
I deleted the photos from photo stream on my iphone and ipad.
I was able to backup my iphone but NOT my ipad as it is saying that there is not enough room on icloud to do this back up.
Any solution?

Remote formatting not possible "not able to write last block"

I'm installing a new HD on my macpro. but I have to do it remotely since original / previous HD is damaged.
I'm trying to format the disk from my macbook pro in arget mode and disk utility , but formatting failed with the response "impossibile scrivere l'ultimo blocco del dispositivo" (ITALIAN) translated means IMPOSSIBLE TO WRITE THE LAST BLOCK OF THE UNIT"
I cannot find the original install DVD and I need to reinstall from backup of timemachine.

I find it hard to believe, next to impossible that anyone would lack bootable clone backups for a workstation. As for "original" DVD, maybe you need $30 DVD SL or contact Apple to buy replacement set.
Then play around, practice, and start using clones. CCC, SuperDuper and others, and dont' rely just on TimeMachine. At least Lion provides an emergency boot environment to handle maintenance, but MicroMat had their own edrive feature for years.
Sounds like you dont' have a new hard drive, get one, and forget using the one that you feel is damaged, maybe zero the entire drive but an erase will now zero and test the first and last 100,000 or more sectors as req'd by GUID.

MM Material group hierarchy ?

I was unable to find any material group <u>hierarchy</u> in MM (ECC60).
Is there any functionality to do this ?
My customer do want to have a search function by hierarchy to find the right material group to use in ME51N, ME21N...

Realtionship Material Group - Hierarchy

Hi experts,
I am developing an ABAP program that takes de material hierarchy from table KLAH and writes it to a text file. The problem I have is that I could not find the relationship between material group and hierarchy level. This what I've tried so far:
Looking for a table with such relationship - Did not find
Looking for a function module that can give this relationship - Did not find
Use ST05 and the run transaction WGUS - It gave me just tables KLAH, KSSK, MARA but I am not able to find this relationship using these tables..
Any suggestion will be highly appreciated

I have used the bapi BAPI_WRF_MATGRP_CHANGE for uploading the material in a retail project,
You can change an existing article hierarchy, delete it, or insert substructures. The functionality applies to the hierarchy, the language-dependent texts, and the articles.
Using the parameter HIERARCHY_DATA, the data for identification of a header record of an article hierarchy is transferred. This data consists of the hierarchy ID and the node. In addition, you have to set the indicator CHANGE for control of the functionality of the BAPI.
Here you can get the required relationship.

Assign Source of supply is not working for contract with material group

Dear Experts,
I have searched all the threads and gone through before posting my query. So i would ask moderators to go through the thread properly before rejecting this.
We have value contracts with respect to a particular material group without material and with item category W in the contract item, Please note that for the materials with this material group, the source determination is not set and source list is also not maintained.
When we create PR for the material with this contract, and when we click on assign source of supply contracts used to get popped up, but recently from few days, when we click on assign source of supply we are getting an error " no source found for this item ".
Can anybody help on this.

As mentioned earlier, we are not creating PR with reference to contract.
first we are creating contract with item category W (material group), without material and plant details.
we create PR with or without material with account assignment K and with the material group in the transaction ME51N, and after inputting all the fields, we click on assign source of supply, it was proposing the existing contracts with respect to material group earlier, but it is not happening for particular material group(it is working for all other material groups)

we are using DIEN-Service material types and we assign that particular material group to only service material type.
we have not ticked, source list in the material master, we donot have any source list for the materials under that material group.( please check the note 457110- question number 14.)

Have you checked the material you downloaded? Could be that has a dummy/invalid material group which is of course not present in CRM.

You can use material groups to:
Restrict the scope of analyses
Search specifically for material master records via search helps
Maintain External Material Groups
In this step you can assign a material to an external material group, or to a material group that was created using externally-defined (non-SAP) structures.
u will get the settings under menu path:
SPRO > IMG > LOGISTIC GENERAL > MATERIAL MASTER > SETTINGS FOR KEY FIELDS > DEFINE MATERIAL GROUPS.
for service PO we have to assign the valuation class to material group under the menu path:
SPRO > IMG > MATERIAL MANAGEMENT > PURCHASING > MATERIAL MASTER > ENTRY AIDS FOR ITEMS WITHOUT A MATERIAL MASTER.
can assign a purchasing value key and a valuation class to a material group.
The assignment of a purchasing value key provides you with default values for reminder levels etc. in purchase order items without a material master record and without an info record.
The assignment of a valuation class to a material group enables the system to determine different accounts for the individual material groups.

Goods-receipt-based invoice verification default for material group

Hello experts,
I put by default the option Goods-receipt-based invoice verification when creating a purchase order by tcode ME21N. Now, I would like if possible to only insert the option Goods-receipt-based invoice verification by default for some material group. Is this possible? This behaviour needs to be automatic.
How can I achieve this behaviour?

Dear JP,
In standard system this is not possible to default this indicator based on Material Group. This can be defaulted from Vendor Master record or Purchasing Info Record or Ticked Manually PO Item Details.
If you look to enhance you system to do this, I would not advisable you to go with this default option because there can be situation that you order some material without Material Master Record (Like a frame work Order) in that case you will not be able to do GR and there can be conflict.
You can create Material Group Info. record and default it from there, but again this for scenario where Material Master Record does not exists(Non Stock).

Material replication from R/3 to SRM - Issue with Material group

Hello All,
                  I am working on BADI PRODUCT_CUSTOMER2 and method MAP_R3_TO_CRM_MATERIALMaterial replication part from R/3 to SRM.
I am using a Ztable to map r/3 material group to SRM material group(Product category).
For example Material M1 with material group 100 is transferred to SRM. Material group(Product category) 100 exist in SRM, but I am changing the material group to 200 in the product_customer2 badi. its working fine.
In another scenario, Material with material M1 with material group 300. Material group(product category) 300 does not exist in SRM,
I am changing the material group to 200 in the bdoc, in the product_customer2 badi. It is not working. The LUW is failing in SMQ2 transaction with the error "Error in Mapping (Details: transaction SMW01)". The BDOC is failing with error "Category for material group 300 does not exist"
I tried to deactivate the badi PRODUCT_CUSTOMER2, even then the FM MAP_BAPIMTCS_AND_PROCESS is validating the material group from R/3.
I tried to change the material group 300 to the existing material group 200 at initial stage in debugging in function module MAP_BAPIMTCS_AND_PROCESS but still the bdoc is failing with error "No storage form defined for product type 01 / logical system".
I am doing my testing using the following steps.
1. change the material descriptioni in MM02 in R/3.
2. An item is displayed in the queue in SMQ2 in SRM.
3. I have debugged the LUW and analyzed my badi by setting breakpoint at method MAP_R3_TO_CRM_MATERIAL, its changing the material group in the bdoc properly.
   that didnt work.
   also i tried to change the material group in the function module MAP_BAPIMTCS_AND_PROCESS before the badi is called.
4. I am checking the BDOc status using tcode SMW01 and checking the material using tcode COMMPR01.
can someone tell me how I can change the R/3 material group to SRM material group at the time of mapping in SRM?

Hi find below for the product cat
Steps to create the product category in SRM:
1) Create MM material groups in ECC client. This will create a transport. Go to SRM Tcode R3AS and select the object u201CDNL_CUST_PROD1u201D from the list and run it. You can monitor the job using R3AM1 in SRM. This will bring the material group into SRM. This can be seen in TCode u201CCOMM_HIERARCHYu201D in SRM.
2) Once it is done. Go to IMG in SRM and go to path SRM> SRM server> Cross app biz settings> Account aassigmnet> Define GL code for Acc *** Cat and Prod Cat. Maintain the GL code against this prod cat for all the account assignment codes. This is client specific setting and need to be done in every client by opening it. This GL code is given in the form in ticket.
3) Do a test and check if the product category is available for procurement in SC.
